While waiting for Le Relais de l'entrecôte to open, my husband and I decided to stop by here for a few drinks. It's a nice cafe located on a busy street that is perfect for people watching. Drinks were reasonably priced and service was decent. The bathroom was set up a little different than anything I've ever seen in the states. You walk down a flight of stairs and there's random stalls set up everywhere. There's a bathroom attendant dressed up in a maid's outfit and she directs you to an open stall. If I lived in Paris, I would probably frequent this cafe. read more

This is a nice traditional cafe that is open very late so is helpful for the all night Parisian traveler. Took more than one try to get my meal right, but the food was delicious and the staff friendly in correcting their mistake. First, I'd consider this place to be a bit more expensive than than the 2EURO distinction. Secondly though, this is totally worth it. We grabbed a croque madam and a croque provencal with some french onion soup and a couple cappuccinos. The service and food quality was great and we'd definitely go back again. read more

Recommended by my hotel, prompt service, waiter chose my wine, which was a little annoying as I would have like to have choices. Enjoyed the onion soup - it was a meal in itself. I guess I am not yet used to the French service, they don't ask if you want anything else and they are quick, almost too quick. Awesome little cafe that saved us from the somewhat unexpected heavy rain of Paris. The onion soup and croque madame were delicious and the service and staff were very kind! For 39 euros, granted that's not a tiny sum, but it's definitely worth the 3 hours spent outside while nursing a bottle of minerale water, a salad Nicoise with fresh anchovies, creme brulee and espresso - otherwise known as normal Parisian coffee. Above average. First off, the location is great and there is a ton to do in the area. The portions are very large so you can easily share a caesar. The gazpacho is some of the best around and of course they have a pretty solid cheese plate. What makes it nice is that it is off the main street, so it is a bit more relaxed. This is a great little cafe with great food. Skip Deux Magots, the tourist trap, and spend your time at Bonaparte. The omelettes served here are awesome! They're not cooked like an American omelette that are big and fluffy, they're more like a lightly stuffed scramble. I had afternoon teà at Le Boneparte last week and thought it was one of the nicest experiences I've had in Paris. I sometimes go to Le Palette and find that their service is often rude, short on attitude and frankly off-putting. So, Les Deux is closed for renovation, head on over to Bonaparte for a petite dejeurne or glass of wine, you likely won't be sorry. Plus, it's great people watching. read more

We went to this cafe several times while on our Paris trip. It has good food and good service. Every dish was done well and we were always pleased with our choice to go back here. It is close by Cafe Maggot and because of this was overshadowed and was never full, even though it did get busy. read more

Terrific cafe, in a great location. Not nearly as tourist trap-y as some of the other places in St. Germain. Great for a snack or a meal. the food is fine. It is really outstanding for people-watching, as you can sit right next to the oldest church in Paris, either inside or out, and watch for hours. In March, I was in Paris and this place was all boarded up. I told my wife, and we were both bummed. Now, we're back in Paris, and I walked by and it's open and roaring. So, I suspect there has been some renovation inside. read more

My friend and I came in for lunch. The service is friendly, especially for Paris! I actually really liked our server - he was prompt, kind, patient with our French, and didn't take smoke breaks while waiting on us. There wasn't a wait for a table but it was relatively busy and our food took a while. I got the Croque Provencal; it was good, but I have had way, way better Croque variations. My friend got an omelette, which she enjoyed. The prices were fair (and much cheaper than certain sub-par places on Saint-Germain). We chose this restaurant because it looked busy and the menu had a good variety of salads and sandwiches. I had an open faced sandwich with goat cheese, radishes and cherry tomatoes with a side of greens - it was excellent. My husband liked his club sandwich. Just returned from Paris where we had a wonderful time and ate at many cafes, including Le Bonaparte. This cafe is a total rip off-- they saw us as American tourists and overcharged us severely. I went back to the cafe a few days later and compared our bill to the REAL prices on the menu and was astounded. We knew the bill was inflated when we got it but had no idea how bad we were assaulted until I did the actual comparison later. AVOID THIS CAFE UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING RIPPED OFF. read more
