    Glorious Vegan bowls - 3/20/2026
    Cam E.

20th March 2026 Upper East Side New York, NY This Belgium implant (yes, pun intended) has a lovely array of vegan and vegetarian fare served 100%/organic. Hand picked seasonally fresh produce added to refined recipes. Enjoy the Zen like moment. **They also serve lovely organic and biodynamic wines ** Thank you Enjoy!

As a vegetarian, I was very excited to try this place. It has a fast food feel to it where you order and pay first and then take the food to your table. The staff is all very sweet and will even let you try some of the sauces/curries before ordering. I really really liked the burrito bowl, but the Asian noodles salad was on the blander side and the super seed avocado just tasted like avocado with some crunch on the outside (it also wasn't very easy to eat at all. No idea how the crisps go with the big avocado halves and the jalapeño sauce). The portions were too small for the price as well. Maybe I didn't order the best things, but from what I got, I loved the burrito bowl while the rest wasn't worth it.

    Highly rated and attractive decor!

Le Botaniste is a way overdue review. I wanted to try this place so when a friend suggested we go for lunch I was excited. Since I was eating very little I was satisfied with a meatless meal. Service was great and the atmosphere is very pleasing. I love the wall art. They sell their condiments if you want to take them home. I'm recommending and I plan to return when the weather warms up.

The ambiance is so cost especially on a snowy day! The service was great. They were so nice and let me taste as many dishes prior to ordering. The food tasted so good! Tibetan mama 4/5 - I would have preferred roasted veggies on there Black bean soup 4/5

    Ample seating.

HEALTHY ORGANIC VEGAN DINNER! Many choices and options. When you are hungry, they make your dinner plate right in front of you, promptly. I got the spicy chili sin carne (was good, appropriate and not too spicy), with free range tofu, extra protein, with superseed avocado; red beet detox, healthy; jasmine green tea for a little pep, chocolate raw cake for dessert, oh so nice! A great healthy Vegan restaurant choice for the Upper East Side, Organic and convenient. I'll be back! Thank you! See pictures, worth a thousand words! Like?

The place is Ok.we ordered burrito bowl,Asian salad and Super seed Avacado.burrito bowl was good but super seed avocado nd Asian salad was just ok.Small portions with over prized..Although the server was very nice n kind..

    Even their menu is beautiful!

I had a terrific time, at this lovely spot; it was my first visit there, and I'd definitely return. The food was delicious. And even though it was all of the healthy things (check the boxes), it tasted so delicious and left me feeling full (while also light). It seems that the illusion of not being full post super healthy fare is just that -- an illusion. Tbh, I eat heartily, and I still couldn't finish this meal in one sitting. Plus, it was affordable -- sorry to sound so granular, but their satisfying meals are a great value proposition. : ) So, both my tummy and wallet left happy. The young people who served me there were attentive and sweet, and gave me a warm welcome. Last but not least, the physical environment was nearly as nourishing as the food itself; it's an aesthetically beautiful space, in which to gather one's self, refuel and take on life again. And Lord knows, we need plenty of such spaces in busy NYC! With Thanks & Love, Katherine

If you need a detox, this place is it. Idk how else to explain it but it tastes like real food that will nourish your soul. Highly recommend the botanist salad and raw chocolate

super seed avocado, Moroccan Stew, Tibetan Mama coconut curry, raw mango cake

Wow, La Botaniste is wonderful! What a joy to have so many organic, plant based options! Everything looks and smells so delicious it was hard to choose! We could not resist the triple seed avocado starter, beautifully crunchy and savory seeds surrounding perfect avocado! I had the coconut curry. The flavors were beautifully layered. I loved the veggies and kimchi--just a delicious combination of flavors. My friend had the Moroccan Stew and the flavors were warm and yummy. We shared the raw mango cake for dessert...it may look like a small piece but so flavorful that splitting it was perfectly satisfying. Lovely ambience as well, the music was enjoyable and kept a level where you can talk to your friends and enjoy the food and the vibes. Great food, lovely and friendly staff. Cant wait to go back and also try the other locations!

Super nourishing bowl and really hit the spot. I ordered the moroccan vegetable stew and the combination of warm roasted spiced root vegetables topped with fresh raw shredded colorful toppings was beautiful and delicious. Would love to try everything! Highly recommended

A vegetarian and convenient cafe, that offers various salad bowl kind of options. The spread is quite beautiful, and while I ordered the basic bowl, the option to customize was there for people with time and interest. The modest indoor seating included a few places with power outlets. I could discern no rest room (I never know what's going on in New York; anywhere else the idea of a bathroom-free eatery is bizarre). My bowl was light and delicious, a needed contrast to the indulgences the city has to offer, though I will say their seed-encrusted avocado adds substance. A green tea on the side was suitably vegetal in taste. It wasn't packed, but even in the middle afternoon was well attended. The desserts and other options are likely well worth the money, and another location of this place lies further downtown. Many of the trendy vegetarian restaurants around the city are hard to get into with the hours and the reservations, but this one was both high quality and practical for my needs.

    Tasnia S.

Tbh I wouldn't suggest le botaniste. I got the falafel and green tea and everything was very flavorless. The store and aesthetics of the place was very beautiful and homey, but it felt more like a clothing store than a food store. I felt like I was going to go shopping for clothes or furniture than eat at a place. The customer service was ok, they weren't all that chatty and just did their job. Overall, this place felt very sterile and not a food place. Their food could use a lot more flavoring for sure. The portion size was alright and the pricing was moderate. It's a little bit on the pricey side. Price:$11.98 Rating: 3/10

As I walked in and saw just how swanky this place is I panicked - there was no way we could just walk in here without a reservation, right? But the hostess was, thankfully, so down to earth. I was straight up like hey I totally messed up and thought we could just walk in here, she was like you know what, let me see what we have. Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. They gave out a complimentary nut mix that was also delicious. Service was swift and gracious. If you're looking for a spot to impress a date, this is it.

The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. A bar seat eventually opened up but I was already on my second drink by then. Definitely make reservations if you're planning a visit!

The bar seating was plentiful and comfortable. There is plenty of space for people to stand behind the bar or a high top tables enjoying happy hour after work. If you go at 4:30 or 5, it's a bit calmer as the after work crowd trickles in. And as the evening went on, it started to get more and more packed, and it became a really lively vibe. After my friend left for another function, I stuck around a little bit longer for a little solo dinner. I had a glass of Prosecco off the happy hour menu followed by a dirty martini, and I did request to look at their full dinner menu because there was a couple items that I wanted to try. I wanted to try the duck Ragu and halloumi cheese, both of which were absolutely fantastic. The halloumi cheese was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the duck Ragu was very comforting. I highly recommend both dishes. I ended up chatting with a woman sitting next to me who happened to work with select apertivo, and next thing I know one of the bartenders handed me a lovely bright cocktail to try on the house. It was a refreshing bubbly Barlume spritz that I'll definitely have to get again next time. Overall, I had a really great time at Barlume. The service was excellent from the servers and the bartenders, and they were all very attentive, personable and friendly throughout the evening. I'll definitely be back for happy hour or dinner with friends!

Did you know this is where the Beecher's used to be?! RIP, I miss their Mac n cheese.... the vibe is completely different now (think extravagant Mediterranean vibes, it's very instagram-mable with the beautiful bar area). I had made a reservation for 5:30 (again, life with a baby is very different)- we arrived early but the staff were very gracious and were able to get us seated. They seated us in a side alcove area where they had cushioned seating, which was very helpful. What we Ordered: Drinks: Barlume Spritz and Hibiscus Mule (N/A cocktail)- drinks were good, nothing too special but we appreciated the cute stirrers Appetizer: Halloumi- grilled halloumi with roasted eggplant puree. The saltiness of the halloumi went so well with the creaminess of the eggplant. (Baby liked the eggplant puree too hah) Entrees: Lobster Arrabiatta and Duck Ragu and Truffle Pizza. My husband got the lobster arrabiatta and was raving about how delicious it was. He said it was the perfect level of spice. My duck ragu was served with busiate (a corkscrew shaped pasta) which I thought 'trapped' the sauce perfectly so you get a nice saucy bite each time. Pasta was perfectly al dente- my one gripe is that I felt the duck ragu was a bit too salty, which even managed to overpower the tomato flavor. We shared the truffle pizza, which came topped off with stracciatella, porcini mushrooms and shaved truffles. I liked the porcini mushrooms on the pizza, this was a first for me. For dessert (which we had to gobble down quickly because baby was starting to get fussy) we got the pistachio cake. SAVE SPACE IN YOUR STOMACH FOR THIS ONE!!! This was my favorite in the whole meal, the kataifi gives it that wonderful crumbliness and it went soooo well with the mango sorbet that's served with it. Recommend for a nice dinner with friends or a cool place to grab drinks! 4.5 stars

Here's what we got Feta butter: 10/10 mild yet deep and flavorful Gem salad: 10/10 crunchy, crispy, tangy, umami Melon: 10/10 the sweetest crunchiest melons I've ever had with the milky goodness of stracciatella Calamari: 10/10 when the dish came out I was hoping for a more tempura-y fry but this was somehow light and tempura-y yet had that that rustic Italianness and squid was perfectly cooked Branzino: 10/10 the crispiest saltiest skin with the perfectly cooked flaky meat YOM Ribeye: 100/10 PERFECT NO NOTES Limone: 10/10 so buttery and salty and cheesy with the parm Tomato Pasta: 9/10 They brought this out complimentary for us!! And made sure it was dairy free!!! We were blown!! The pasta was slightly too thick/al dente for me but the rest of the table loved it!! Herbed Carrots: 10/10 maple (?) glazed and so sweet and soft!! Almost tasted like a mix between a carrot and a yam Harry's Strawberry Shortcake: 100/10 DO NOT SKIP!! I wished I wasn't so full at the end bc this was AMAZING! It was deconstructed with a nice serving of whipped cream and poppy seeds on top - wowowowow perfectly slightly sweet and the shortbread in it was indescribable!!! The restaurant itself was bigger than you'd think walking in and from what I saw, was a great spot to accommodate 6-9 people! Can get a bit loud but vibes are bright all around it was giving amalfi coast ~ Can't wait to bring more of my friends here!!!

Opto has all the elements of a restaurant with staying power. Very good food that's well-executed…read moreacross the board, drink and food menus with tons of good options, and particularly great service. The prices are definitely a little inflated but for some reason I feel like the prices at most Flatiron places of this caliber are set similarly so I suppose it is ~locally~ normative. In any case, it fits the vibe of the area well and it is suitable for pretty much any occasion so it's versatile too. We came here at 8:15 as a party of four on a Saturday night. Though it wasn't too hard to get a reservation, the place was completely full. That said, it's a relatively big space so they have plenty of tables to accommodate parties of many different sizes. The decor is fresh and refined, lots of greenery which is the move these days. Though it's a white tablecloth situation the vibe is not pretentious or buttoned up, it's lively and fun just in a sophisticated way. Cocktails and wine options aplenty here, with quite a few cocktail options featuring Greek/Mediterranean ingredients (mastiha, I'm looking at you) which I very much appreciated. A few folks started with the "I Speak For The Trees" (Spring 44 Vodka, Cucumber, Mastiha) cocktail and in doing so tried mastiha for the first time. I, not surprisingly, had to try the martini, which is the Fantasy Is A Necessary Ingredient (Dill Vodka, Sardinian Vermouth, Olive Oil). Despite not being a vodka person, vodka in dirty martinis is the one exception I will make from time to time, especially when there is a fun infusion that elevates the drink. I was extremely happy that, after ordering it, our server asked if I wanted it with a regular olive or feta-stuffed olive, as if there is really any deliberation that needs to happen there (read: feta-stuffed olives are a no-brainer). For the rest of the night I just got dirty martinis or espresso martinis which are both particularly excellent here. My partner tried the La Osa Albarino (Val do Salnes, Rias Biaxas, Spain) with our entrees which I also enjoyed. Food-wise, we got to sample a decent portion of the menu being a party of four, though we didn't order any of the bigger entrees (mostly because we could not justify the price). Everything was great and the only reason this isn't five stars is just because I reserve that for experiences where things are mind-blowing/super memorable and as they say, it is called the Hall of Fame not the Hall of the Very Good. In any case, it's hard to pick out a favorite dish because we really enjoyed everything, but that is a good sign for the rest of the menu should you want to order something we didn't try. Everything was an A or A+ in this meal so I'll skip the letter grades for this review. Eats, below: Norwegian Yellowtail Tartare w/ Ezme, Borage, Sumac Light, delicate, relatively straightforward as far as tartares go but the ezme adds a nice touch that's a nod to the Mediterranean. Gem Lettuce Salad w/ Dill, Scallion, Cucumber, Sesame-Anchovy Vinaigrette Super fresh and delicious, perhaps a little Caesar-esque but with far more intrigue. Sugar Kiss Melon w/ Stracciatella Di Buffala, Spicy Coppa, 25 Year Balsamic We actually decided to nix this at the last second when we realized we may have ordered a bit too much food but our lovely server brought it anyway (she really made the night for us). This could even be a dessert-type dish if you'd like, but certainly works among the savory courses too. Charred Spanish Octopus w/ Potato, Mint, Aged Sherry The octopus was beautifully cooked and presented, seasoned well, no notes on that. The potatoes were decent but less exciting than the rest of the dish imo. Roasted Dorade w/ Tamarind Glaze, Pomegranate, Jalapeño, Herb Salad Absolutely loved this dish. According to our server, it's on the opposite end of the spectrum from the branzino, which is a cleaner, simpler preparation (and the whole fish), while this is a total flavor bomb. While I do love branzino, I'm glad we opted for this at less than half of the price. And I'm pretty sure the last time the four us went out for dinner we ordered a full fish and I'm pretty sure it was branzino so here's to shaking things up. Rocky Mountain Lamb Chops w/ Black Garlic, Ras El Hanout, Mint Chermoula Despite not usually being a red meat person I really loved these. Incredibly juicy and flavorful, making a strong case for being priced as high as they are. Honey Spiced Carrots Don't sleep on sides! Often an afterthought but they deserve a seat at the table, and these were good evidence of this.
