BEST TIME OF MY LIFE. Happened to stumble upon this place exploring downtown and it was such a treat. The staff are all very welcoming and informative. We did the 1hr experience and all of the cats were very friendly and loving. The hour was filled with lots of love, snuggles, pets and relaxation. I wish I could take them all home with me! I went there because I saw a tik tok and look really nice but forgot to mention that coffee shop is upstairs and if you want to be around cats you have to pay access which is located downstairs. For adults $14 and $10 for kids and that's for 30 minutes . They also have 1 hr . They had like 7 cats and they had posted their info for available adoption. The reason I'm giving 3 start is because they had the coffee sign outside but their machine was broken. read more

Came in on a Thursday around 5:30 pm and bought the 1-hour pass for $20. Immediately loved the dark and quiet ambiance. It was decorated so nicely and had an array of different books to choose from. It was difficult to get into the books with all the cute cats around though. Taylor was super sweet and helpful; she helped answer any questions I had regarding the cats or books. ********DONT COME HERE ******** As soon as we went in to see the cats my daughter was bitten and scratched by a kitten within a couple of minutes. I was told to wash the wounds with soap and was given a couple bandaids. After the incident my daughter wanted to leave so we left. We were only there for about 10 minutes total including the time it took to wash the bite and put a bandaid on. I asked the manager Deana for a refund and was told they can't and that we signed a waiver. We were told we had to sign a waiver when we got there, however we were never given one. We only signed a sign in sheet. There was also no incident report done. I understand these things can happen, but a little empathy and a refund would've gone a long way. I had to take my daughter to urgent care to make sure everything was okay, and will now have a follow up with her PCP. read more

Okay, this coffee & tea café is definitely a niche place - you gotta believe cats are purr-fect for you. When you check out my storefront pic, this café appears like an ordinary coffee and book place, which the upstairs is (see my pic of the barista area). The street level restaurant portion is basically a takeaway coffee shop - their coffee was okay. The real cat experience is downstairs. There is a fee per half and one hour visits. So you'll check in at street level and go downstairs to check-in your personal objects and be instructed with the cat protocols. (As an aside, the staff really understands the personalities of each of the cats. So you'll get a feel of what to expect from each cat.) Then you'll enter the cat lounge area with cats, books and chairs (see pics). The cats come and go, as their curiosity and willingness to be petted ebbs and flows. On this afternoon, there were about 17 cats in the cat lounge area - 3 being resident cats and rest were up for adoption. Again, the staff was very knowledgeable about each cat and was willing to explain their personalities to help guide in a potential cat adoption (I believe there are some cost-recovery (spay, neuter, shots, etc) fees involved). On to books: we were there for one of their books signings by a local author. I had a great time talking with the author (thank you Michael Fuqua and his book "Line Boy": about a young man maturing on a flight line) about his book and the background for his upcoming book. They also have a book club, which is free to join. If this is the cat's meow for you, then you may have found your clowder. read more

Had so much fun here!! Highly recommend!! Cafe/ordering is upstairs and the cats are downstairs. The cats were adorable, our favorite was Sid. They were playing Gilmore girls in the back and there's tons of cozy seating. If I lived closer I'd be getting a membership! Can't wait to come back out here. the kitties are soo cute! Also it's not too expensive to chill and hangout with kitties, it's 20 an hour which isn't bad in comparison to cat cafes in LA or elsewhere. The staff are super friendly and give u a run down of each cat before entering and the stuff love and adore the kitties a bunch! i will say that time moves way too fast in here i felt like my hour was only thirty minutes read more

Took our mom for an early Mothers Day treat. She's quite the cat lover and this was a great surprise for her. So many cute cats and kittens wandering around to play with. You can't pick them up but Jake jumped up and settled on lap which was sweet. We loved the names and color coding system to show which cats are feeling playful. The bookstore is filled with cute cat decor and lots of good books! An hour flew by and we chatted with the staff on the way out. They are very nice and helpful as well. read more

I love this place! Excellent & informative service from Deanna on how the business works for the benefit kitties (many hard-luck cases) to find a loving, forever home. Great concept for cat rescue. The service is so friendly and explained the process well without being intimidating. The cat basement was extremely beautifully decorated with a plethora of books! If you aren't genuinely a cat person this place might not be for you. I came shortly after they opened so it might just be that, but you could definitely smell that this place has cats. I don't mind it because I have cats and the smell doesn't bother me but if you are sensitive then maybe come later in the day once they've cleaned all the boxes. There are quite a few cats who are all sweet. I would come here again. The cost goes towards the vet care which I love. read more

Super cute shop and idea! Coffee could be warmer. It was lukewarm at best. They have pastry options like croissants, brownies, cookies. Staff is super friendly. You can pay for admission and head downstairs to play with cats. They are all available for adoption except 2: sugar and spice who are permanent residents. They have bios about the cats on the wall. Can play with the cats or just hang out and read a book or both. There is a kids corner with books and coloring. Cost for admission is reasonable. $14 for adults and $10 for kids for 30 mins. It's in downtown redlands so parking can either be super easy or really hard depending on day and time of day. read more

What a great idea! Read a book with a kitty in your lap. The cats are rescues and if you fall in love, you can adopt. You pay a cover charge to get in and there's time limits. Good business model and a good cause, hope they flourish. We can't have pets at home due to allergies, so I imagine we'll visit often. read more

The Cat cafe could use a limit of people to cat ratio. It should also put an age limit to the people allowed in. I almost tripped over a toddler who was unsupervised. The cats seemed over stimulated due to too many people at one time. I also feel that the space is too small for the cats to find their own space. One kitty Miranda was very sweet, however she had discharge coming from her eyes and nose. Hope she doesn't get the rest of the kitties sick. Super cute, super friendly place. The employee that helped me was so kind and explained everything and I understood the conditions. I paid for an hour and they are cashless FYI. I didn't have a drink this time cause I had already had one in the morning but next time I'll come with a thirst. For half of my session I was the only person in the lounge and I really appreciated that as a shy person going alone so I was able to spend time with some kitties before a handful of groups showed up. The cats were either hiding or some were napping and didn't want to be bothered which is fine, I understood they aren't always social. The employee put on Gilmore girls for me and I sat on the couch hoping a cat would come to me and Sid did. He sat with me for half an hour and that was all I could ask for. My only complaint is that the sign outside advertised lap dances and I did not get a lap dance from the cats jk lol read more

Unfortunately, I made it into the cat lounge portion of the café and it was such a disappointment. The vibe is kind of goth which I thought was interesting and the cats are sweet but the family of either the owner or a worker completely ruined it. There were 2 kids there that I realized were the children of one of the staff and I think they were just hanging out there all day. They were playing kid's cartoons in the back loudly. Completely ruined the vibe. They were telling me what the cats wanted and didn't want and when I was trying to pet the cats, more than once they got in between and took the cat for themselves. They were acting like they were their pets and I couldn't touch them. One time, I put my hand out and the cat was coming towards me and the little boy ran up to it and scooped it up instead. Another time, I was sitting on the couch about a foot away from a cat in its play area and the little girl literally crawled on me to get between me and the cat. I was shocked and moved away quickly. It was very unprofessional. It felt like it was just someone's living room and they happened to have a bunch of cats and they were charging admission. read more

I came here not too long ago and honestly I was disappointed with the experience. I arrived about half hour before closing and stopped by quick while my husband went to the card shop close by. I wanted a dirty pumpkin chai but was told the espresso machine was already cleaned for the day. To be honest, I understand 10 even 15 minutes before closing, but she made it very clear the machine was already closed and looked like she was just ready to close the shop early. I found it odd since it was a 30-35 minutes before closing and it wasn't walking like I was walking in 5 minutes before closing either. I've never had that experience before at any small business coffee shop. I didn't feel very welcomed either. It seems on some recent reviews a few have had that experience which I imagine is with the same girl. Despite that, I got my daughter a cookie since she was excited to even go in and myself a regular pumpkin chai. It was an okay chai. I was bummed with the experience given I had found them from a TikTok video a few weeks prior. If you go, go near opening or an hour or two before closing because it seems they close shop early despite the hours posted. read more

I really enjoyed this place. The coffee is bomb, they have some really good books to choose from, and everyone there is kind, and looks happy to be there. Plus, you get to spend time and play with the kitties. The cats are available for adoption, and if you can't adopt, they offer memberships so that you can come visit them anytime you feel like it. We adopted a kitten from here. According to them and their documents kitten was perfectly fine. After a few months of having our kitten, we sadly lost him due to a tremendous amount of health issues. Our kitten didn't step outside our home. We struggled having him gain weight, to then find out he had panleukopenia, amongst other illnesses. sadly we found out way too late. Our family was dearly attached to him. My disappointment and frustration with this place is that they should be responsible to making sure these cats are completely cured and vaccinated, or to disclose all illnesses these cats may have. Our family is now having to grieve a loss of a pet due to us trusting this place. Please make sure if you decide to adopt take your own measures and pay your own vet for a full check up. Don't do the same mistakes we did. read more

Le Chat Noir is a fun, creative, comfortable place to either pick up some coffee and run, or stay for a while downstairs with cats and other friendly humans. Their special blend of coffee is very good (we had hot lattes) and the brownie was delicious. Please don't be put off by the Admission charge to be with the kitties downstairs - it is non profit and the fee goes to support and place the kitties with their forever homes. You get to play with them and hold them, or just watch. There is also a collection of art, books, and other eclectic items to peruse downstairs. We've been twice and found the space, the cats, and the staff and owner to be welcoming and delightful. What a creative conglomeration of interesting ideas! read more

Love love love this place. Brought my cat loving Mom here and she loved it. It's so cute and warm. Has lots of seating downstairs to enjoy your coffee and book! They also had Harry Potter playing and lots of cute lights. It was $14 per adult for 30 minutes and I think it was just enough for a visit and to see everything! They had books you can read and buy. 0 customer service, my husband son and I walked in and were not greeted by the barista in the shop. She gave no customer service when I asked for the most popular drinks and when my husband asked a question she was rude and short and just overall weird attitude, as if we weren't welcomed. I like being able to pull my car up to the side of the building and have an employee take the items without too much fuss. From all of the negative reviews on here, it seems like that isn't really how donations go down at this Goodwill store. Our server was quick with our large order and I wouldn't mind trying other iced drinks throughout the Summer either. I ordered a hot rose cardamom latte with oatmilk which was just ok for me, my co-worker ordered an iced strawberry latte with orange cold foam ,but received an iced strawberry matcha instead. Luckily she also likes matcha and it was really good, so she wasn't that disappointed. My other co-workers ordered a hot honey cinnamon cappuccino with oatmilk, an iced golden hour from the spring menu, a cortado and a cinnamon roll. The golden hour was an iced mango lemonade topped with matcha and she loved it. The cortado tasted real authentic according to my other co-worker. The cinnamon roll shared amongst a few of us was to die for! We're definitely coming back.

I visited this cat cafe a few weeks ago after noticing it was a new addition to Redlands. Intrigued, I brought along my close friend, and we both peeked inside, eager to explore. The staff member at the front explained that the first floor was where we could order drinks and snacks, and to visit the cats in the basement, there was a small fee of $14 for half an hour or $20 for a full hour. Having been to a few cat cafes before, I found this to be the best-priced option, especially since the entire fee goes towards the cats' health and vet visits. Stepping into the cozy cat room, we were greeted by several adorable tabbies roaming around. There were plenty of comfortable seating areas and a wide selection of books to choose from. Towards the back, there was a movie room, although the lighting was a bit dim. While spending time with Sugar, one of the permanent resident cats, DJ, one of the friendly staff members, asked if we were comfortable helping socialize Sid, a slightly older male cat with a limp. Sid was a bit grumpy and didn't get along well with other cats, but he allowed me to pet him and play with him, albeit with a few gentle smacks, which I took as a sign of affection. If it weren't for my antisocial cat at home who hasn't interacted with other cats, Sid would have been a great addition. I hope someone adopts this sweet boy with an attitude soon. read more

I'm truly grateful that this café has given rescued cats a second chance at life--it's wonderful to see them safe and cared for. The cats are absolutely adorable, and I encourage anyone who visits to consider adopting one of these sweet companions. The space is thoughtfully decorated and creates a cozy atmosphere. I did notice a slight odor, which might be improved with a few additional litter boxes. Also, if the cats don't already have access to natural sunlight, it could be beneficial to incorporate a sunny spot for them to relax in. I have been there and man oh man is it so much fun! I have adopted two kitties.... Bambi and Tang! They are the sweetest! We adopted them about 2-3 weeks apart they are paired for life! The workers are very very friendly and very helpful with kitty nature and learning about the kitties. It was one of the most unique drink options for an early morning. I had waltzed right in a few minutes after opening. The owner had barely put out the parking lot sign, when I had stepped out of my car. It's hidden inside the lot and if not the signs, I wouldn't have spotted it. Upon walking in, I noticed the catching art and design of the portafilter. I stared at the design and menu before ordering. I was the first customer of the day! The owner made small talk with me, but it was definitely pretty early. He was friendly and kind, as he was making my order. Watching him brew the coffee in front of me, while holding a casual conversation was a nice experience in the shop. He also gave me a coffee sleeve with my iced drink, just because I asked (I keep sleeves as part of a collection). The banana latte is strong. After drinking half of it, I can feel the caffeine hit, which is rare for sweet drinks. You can taste the coffee, banana, and milk. Definitely a bang for my buck. The overall aesthetic, taste, conversation, and price makes me want to visit again when needed!

It's super convenient because it's set up with multiple outlets, making it a perfect hidden gem if you need to plug in and get things done. Lastly the wait time was not too bad during a rush on a Saturday morning and the people working were so nice!

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the sweetest staff, especially Hannah, who shared the adorable backstory of the place. The owners have a dog named Chai and struggled to find coffee shops that allowed dogs, so they decided to open their own... and that's how Chai Coffee Shop was born! You can definitely feel the dog-loving vibe everywhere, from the décor to the fact that pups are actually hanging out inside. Within minutes, one of the dogs came over and licked my toes (unexpected but hilarious ). It's such a warm, welcoming environment where people and pets can just relax. The ambiance is perfectly balanced bright and social up front, with a quieter, cozier section in the back if you want to read, study, or work. I had the cold brew, which was fully customizable. I told the server I wanted it sweet, and she nailed it! so delicious! I also tried their pumpkin cornbread (not quite pumpkin bread, not quite a muffin, but so good). They even have a secret menu I haven't tried yet, but I definitely will next time. Their espresso machine was temporarily down when I visited, but it didn't bother me at all, plenty of great options regardless and should be back up by Wednesday. Prices are super reasonable and right in line with other coffee shops, but the vibe here is what really sets it apart. It's cozy, dog-friendly, and just genuinely joyful.
