had my daughters birthday celebration recently and I must say it was a fantastic experience. the ballroom we booked was beautiful and the staff helped us the whole way from getting the decor setup, working with the dessert vendor, our photographer, as well as provide an excellent dinner. speaking of the dinner the garlic noodles was probably some of the best i've ever had. highly recommended for anyone looking to host an event, or even just to visit for some good food. it also helps that the interiors of the whole place is marvelous. read more

More like Le Meridien...Express! It's a little annoying to present yourself as an upscale hotel when truly, you offer at best, Best Western amenities! my family and I are staying for a one night staycation to escape the heat and we decided on this brand new hotel. however, from the start, things just doesn't scream quality. Just couple weeks ago we did a two night stay at the Langham hotel and though felt dated, the service, the quality is still there. In contrast, the quality of service in Le Meridien is almost non existent. From the cold welcome from the check in staff, to the overpriced breakfast at the lobby. I booked our stay as Marriott members with free breakfast that states free breakfast and doesn't say "continental!" So imagine when my family walked in for breakfast and was told additional $10 each for "hot meal." No one in the front desk or upon booking told us that it was only dry breakfast. Kinda like click and bait routine! But then again, we've stayed at places like Holiday Inn Express that breakfast included hot and cold! I wouldn't have booked this stay if that was the case. Again, I'm willing to pay top dollar if it warrants quality. But that breakfast they served ranks bellow Denny's. And then there's the silly valet parking for a whopping $27 a night! For what? To park the cars around the hotel without shade and exposed to the sun all day! Where's the quality there? If anything, they should be allowing free self parking right now since Covid cases are on the rise again. I know this hotel has a long heritage with ties to other historic hotels around the world. But the only thing this thing has it going for itself are the brand new modern decor. That's it! No fridge in the room, gotta sign up to use streaming services, no tub, view of construction, uncomfortable pillows, chairs, and etc. To add cherry on top, they had maintenance worked on the hallway adjacent to our room early in the morning! We heard drilling and banging! Hopefully they'll iron things out quick because they're doing everything backwards in my opinion. The staff definitely need more training in customer service 101. They have to see what other hotel chains are offering to the customers so they can be competitive. For now, I don't think we will be staying again nor be recommending this to our friends and family. read more

Came here for a one night quick getaway with my family (me, my husband, and our two children who are 4 an 1). We came to experience the 626 night market without having to drive the 1+ hours it would take to get back home that evening. Pros: the hotel itself is very clean and modern. The staff we interacted with were great. If you plan on attending the 626 Night Market at Santa Anita Park, this hotel is literally across the street. We just walked over and didn't have to worry about parking or traffic getting in/out. It also made it quick to go back and rest one my littles were tired. The room is beautifully designed and we enjoyed just staying in the room & stream Netflix or Youtube. Free coffee in the lobby in the morning. Cons: There is no self parking. Valet is the only option and is $27/night. We ordered room service and it was on the more expensive side ($80 for salmon, fries, a Pepsi & a glass of milk) BUT it was good and I understand we were paying for convenience at that point. Their pool is really small. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back to this place if we needed to stay in the area. Their on-site restaurant looks amazing but we didn't get the chance to try it as we were stuffed from all the 626 night market food! read more

As much as I would like to share how high quality the rooms appear, unfortunately you cannot account for low quality staff or security. During our stay we attended a wedding reception, and were attending the party into the next morning. We returned to our room, and something seemed slightly out of place but not notable enough at the moment to call down to the front desk. The next day we noticed after returning home that some small items were missing, specifically small apple head phones and other technology products from our overnight bag. We contacted the hotel to report the missing items, and state that items were missing but there is little security features at the hotel to confirm that the room was opened during the party. There are also no cameras recording of the hotel hallways, according to the associate I spoke with, for any confirmation of our room being accessed. This seems to be a benefit for people who really appreciate privacy to their detriment, or is a very unfortunate lack of security. We absolutely know that our items were not left unattended or in an unlocked room. the geo tag that apple provided proved last notification of the AirPods was the hotel, then the updated location from the Find My app (which tracks location of your devices) was updated to 30 miles south (Norwalk, near studebaker elementary). The staff were polite on the phone, but there is no follow up possible beside asking house keeping if the items were found in the room, we already know these were taken elsewhere based on the apple geo tags. This information hopefully helps the hotel to improve their security, informs future hotel patrons of the risk, or in the most unlikely situation causes the thief to return the items to the hotel lost and found. Also hopefully this information doesn't encourage likely thieves to take advantage of this security lapse. read more

This is a beautiful, brand new hotel, and it shows. Given the rate we paid we have no complaints - I'd say rack should be in the low-$300s, and right now it's less than $200 since it just opened. That's hard to beat when you compare it to other flags in the area like the Hilton or Westin, which are dated and a bit worn around the edges. The good: Service staff is all incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful - although they are clearly still getting their sealegs, you can tell they're being trained to a high level; The rooms and common areas are tasteful without being banal - this is how a corporate hotel should look; and the nods to the Racetrack are fun; Indoor/outdoor bar area is welcoming, and a great way to enjoy the weather and the views of the San Gabriels; Periodic live music downstairs is a nice atmosphere boost, and all three performers we heard were very talented; Very clean throughout; both in terms of newness and actual cleaning; Well located - a bit out of the hub of Pasadena, but within 15 minutes of anything you'd want to get to; Since valet is just around the corner and not in a garage, car retrieval was speedy and prompt via txt summoning; Pretty good (if limited) bar selection; at least a few anchor whiskies for most people; they had Ardbeg 10, Talisker 10, and Hibiki Harmony (although this ran out on our third day with no replacement, which was disappointing), among many others (I tend toward Islay, so appreciated having some selection); Great burger at the bar; The maybe not as good, your mileage may vary: Systems are still definitely being worked out - we requested housekeeping for the fourth night of our stay, then spent the day out to give them time to refresh the room, and when we got back it hadn't been cleaned; calling the desk we were informed that housekeeping ran out of time and so couldn't clean our room, which was a huge disappointment and at a higher rack rate would have been unacceptable; No fridges in the room yet; but this is part of why the room rates were low, so no complaint there; No coffee makers in the room; this sounds like an intentional decision, so not likely to change; I understand the Le Meridien European idea of community gathering, but I just want my coffee first thing in the morning, and while here I had to shower and get dressed just to get a cup, which I never like; Limited seating in bar area; we had a couple of nights where there was no table downstairs for us in the bar area, which was unfortunate; The food in the main restaurant wasn't to our taste; it might still be finding its footing, but given the quality of many restaurants nearby it didn't quite live up; The high tea was also a disappointment quality wise; Small but annoying thing - we had a 2Q room (so our son could have a bed), and the beds only had a center end table, with no small end tables on the alternate sides (not great for sharing a bed in a 2Q configuration); No self parking, valet only; read more

I witnessed a customer get upset with his bill she remained calm and helped with his issue. All the staff in the hotel are very kind. I travel a lot so I appreciate good service. SUPER DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS HIGH TEA! This is the email I wrote to the manager after our visit to Le Meriden High Tea: Dear Ms. Green, I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent visit to your High Tea Lounge at Le Meriden on June 30th. I had high expectations for the experience after looking at your website and reading reviews. Unfortunately, it fell short in several aspects. Firstly, the extended wait time, 25 minutes, before receiving our tea was quite frustrating. Then, everything came at once...our matcha drinks, tea, soup, and the food. I am unsure if this is your procedure, however, it was a lot to eat and drink all at once. It would have been much more pleasurable to sip our tea while waiting for the food. Furthermore, the quality of the food served during the high tea was rather mediocre. The selection lacked freshness and most items were not up to the standard we had expected for the price. For example, the soup was cold, the pasties were icy in the middle, the fish on toast smelled so strong that it was unappetizing, the scones were thin and hard, and the chocolate covered strawberries were dipped in purple chocolate with green sprinkles. Despite having made a reservation in advance, it seemed to me that this tea was not made fresh and was presented to us with leftovers form the refrigerator. Lastly, upon receiving the bill, we were surprised by the presence of unexpected charges that were not clearly communicated beforehand. This left us feeling misled and dissatisfied with the overall pricing transparency. I wanted to bring these issues to your attention as I believe constructive feedback is crucial for any business to improve and maintain its reputation. My mother has been a resident of Arcadia for over 30 years and we love supporting local businesses. My sister and I took our mother to your lounge as a birthday gift, and the experience dampened the excitement of the day. Pros are the indoor/ outdoor bar, very clean gym, and overall easiness of the stay. The only cons are the parking and small pool area. Both of which you get used to. I had a wonderful stay here for the anniversary with my bf. The hotel is brand new and pretty, it's about 10-15 minutes drive from old town Pasadena and Huntington Library. Compare to 626 area the price is good for the quality of the room and service. The front desk girl Minh who helped us to checking-in was super friendly, she introduce the services & amenities in the hotel and made the check-in process smooth and easy. There is no tea or coffee in the room, how ever they offer free morning tea and coffee in first floor. Parking was valet only $27, no self parking available, but it's understandable. Didn't get chance to check the bar and restaurant, will defiantly come back and check them out. Highly recommend for couple. (the restroom is open space for the 1 king bed room lol ) read more

We have been back and forth here a few times because my husband now works remotely, so we are moving to Southern California and have been trying to decide where we want to settle. We have been viewing properties in various locations, including Pasadena, so we've stayed here several times. We usually stay at newer hotels because of my sensitivities and allergies. The staff here has been really amazing, friendly, and most importantly- accommodating, to my unique environmental disability. The valets are really nice, the property is new and beautiful and the staff is all wearing masks. Yay! The pool is very nice and has an amazing view of the mountains. There's an outdoor shower which I also appreciate to keep humidity down in the room. The restaurant has really good food also. They did get my order wrong and had to remake it because I can't eat gluten, but the Asian salad was delicious. My child and husband loved the chicken sandwich also. The wait staff are very friendly and efficient. Customer service is everything. Highly recommend this beautiful new hotel. read more

I recommend you to not stay here at all. They will do whatever it takes to sell you a room. And once they sell the room to you and you are checked in. They don't give a damn about you. Horrible customer service. On the phone for over an hour trying to pick up the pieces for what was supposedly 100% confirmed the day before check in. But now that my mother is checked in at the hotel. Policy this and policy that blah blah blah. Going back on every thing they guaranteed me before I booked the room. And on top of that. They didn't offer me a discount on the room. Discount for the next stay. Maybe a free meal on the house for my mother. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS OFFERED for the inconvenience that was clearly their fault in the first place... you know what pisses me off the most. I'm not one to ask for a discount. So I didn't... But if I did I'm sure the manager would've gave me a hard time about it but at the end of the day she would've gave me one or at least a discount for the next stay... Don't believe anything they say unless you have it in writing. They all go back on their own word. For ex. After trying to pick up the pieces a credit card autho was sent to me. And in the comment section I asked over the phone "can I just put any and all charges" she replied no no no sir, policy this and policy that. Please only put food and beverage for this amount. And then when I talk to the manager 5 minutes later. She's sending me the cc autho form I just sent them saying exactly what the front desk lady told me to put in because policy policy policy... so I put what she told me and sent it in. The hotel itself is beautiful. Rooms are gorgeous with decent views. The pool is very small. No one at the front desk notify me that the parking was $28 a day while checking in. I was here for 5 days. I was shocked when I saw my final stamens of this hotel charging my card nearly $200 for parking and Internet. The wi-Fi is $6 a day! I would've been fine if someone told me about the charge it was just shocking to me to find out I would highly suggest just staying at the double tree Hotel which is a 5-10 minute drive from here. Definitely the most upscale option in Arcadia and for you Horse Racing Fans-right across the street from Gate 5 entrance. Being so close to a major track you would think they would more representation throughout and have the Daily Racing form available to purchase-no. There was a cute mirror in the room with "And They're Off" script on it. I wish you could do 1/2 stars as I would have given 4 1/2. The rates were comparable to that of the Courtyard Monrovia and knowing the LeMeridian Brand is typically more upscale along with the close proximity and the newness-we were excited to try! The good-the craft cocktails and room service! Complimentary Illy coffee in the lobby every morning and available from 5am for those early birds. The food quality is exceptional and good choice of options for both happy hour and room service. The bar stools were super cute and comfy and Augustus and Geo were awesome! The room-bathroom lighting was great for all you ladies!! Beds and textiles were comfy and cozy. Ability to make requests for towels and other items pre arrival was great and delivered within 10 minutes of walking in. The hotel is beautiful. The disappointing: Actual printed menus for food were non existent. I get the digital age thing but my Dad is 83 and if I wasn't with him-he'd have nothing to refer to. Everyone does NOT have a phone. The door to the bathroom was cut short so it was always peek a boo opened, and you could hear everything. Valet-upon arrival we were essentially ignored and waited a good 10 minutes till we left our car and walked the keys to the stand to advise them we were checking in. I will say they got better as the stay occurred and always had the car brought up after we texted for it to call down. Had a package delivered and was not advised it had arrived and was being held until I went to the desk. The BAD-$27 daily parking with NO other option-so just add it to the room. There is no other place to park-so be prepared. They do have promo where when spending $75 pre-tax and grat-parking is free. Sadly it has to be in one sitting and does not include room service (why I don't know as is same kitchen). $100 room service breakfast for two. All the fees?!?! Overall the disappointments and BAD will not deter me from a future stay as it is the nicest and actually the Courtyard Monrovia has seemed to steadily decline in service and provisions the past years so if rates are similar-LM wins. The cost will add up though with the parking, food and beverage but ya get what ya pay for! read more

The staff is nice when you have their attention but their not very outgoing to help. Expect $27 for Valet Parking. They gated off the parking lot and labeled it employee parking. After checking into my room on the 6th floor I could see 6 cars in Employee parking and they refused to allow me to park my own car stating there's no spots available. I don't review things. When on occasion an experience isn't the best, I like to try and give the benefit of the doubt and hope to catch a business on a better day. This time though, I could not let this slide since this is a reservation-based experience so Le Meridien Pasadena has all the time in the world to ensure all things are up to par. I think this is literally like my third time even speaking up about an establishment and as a Marriot Bonvoy member that has always enjoyed other premium properties under the umbrella, this was just a huge disappointment and quick frankly, a waste of money. From the general awkward layout of the room (Standard King) with no true separation of the restroom to the sleeping area, no body wash, no drinking cups, prying views into other rooms, to a singular untucked flat sheet on the bed that made my skin burn weirdly when it came in contact with it and the thinnest undressed duvet money shouldn't have bought. Two adults usually mean the room should be outfitted with a pair of everything. Not the case. One bath towel and washcloth, one bottle of water, and even one garbage bag though there were two baskets. Everything just felt like an afterthought. The pics of the hotel on the site are sorcery at its best because it is absolutely not what you get. The restaurant was closed though checking prior it was said to be open and we stood at the lobby bar for 15 minutes trying to get the bartender's attention simply for a pair of wine glasses. Never got it. Had to ask a very kind employee that was arranging wine bottles in the aforementioned closed restaurant to provide us with them. The couple of employees we did interact with were friendly though and while the hotel itself was clean, that isn't something to praise. It should be. It's a hotel. That's the bare minimum that would be expected. Oh, and check out is noon, though the key cards are "sensitive" is what I was told and seem to stop working around 11:50 am. That's unheard of. The industry norm is usually a 15-30 min grace period to get out. I really do hope that some of these things are paid some attention for the future guests. Reviews are for that reason after all. Hoping to pay some kind of information forward for the betterment of the business and the patrons. Unfortunately, I won't be one of them. read more

Beautiful Hotel new and modern. The problem is the lack of maid service when I requested maid service I was told that the hotel needed 24hrs in advance notice. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. For 2 days unmade beds, dirty towels, trash piled. I live in Arcadia I usually stay at the Doubletree down the street. And maid service everyday without having to request. I personally went down stairs and requested that I'd at least be given clean towels, counter prrson wrote it down, NEVER HAPPEN!!! It's a given I pay so that I don't have to worry about anything. I could've stood home for zero dollars and had a made bed, clean towels, empty trash can. This is the first and last time I stay here. Anywhere I can write a review on this place I will do it and let people that this is an over price rip off read more

We've had our company retreat here in June, the second year in a row. 1st time last year, it was a very mixed experience from dealing with our rep to staff on site and all the feedback from employees staying in the hotel. I ended up not going in person after all due to getting covid. However, I planned the event, and our rep was not the best experience in my personal experience planning events for over 16 years. There were many errors, from set-up, food ordering to sleeping rooms, and billing! Pay attention to that bill details! But the hotel staff was awesome and trying their best to help! We decided to give it another try since it was a new contact and the last one was no longer there and honestly we were at crunch time with so many other events going on so we decided to build off the previous year. Gaby helped us this time. She's awesome! And can't forget, Harry, so helpful! At events like this, so many things can go wrong with so many changes, we had over 140 attending in person, about 100 staff staying at the hotel. We had so many changes, and Gaby and her team were easy to work with. She's very knowledgeable and has great contacts for entertainment, we had a jazz band with a female vocalist, and it was so great! I wish I had taken pictures, but it was so busy! She was so helpful with all our needs. Will note we did use the shuttle company they recommended. However, it wasn't ADA accessible, but Gaby helped us find another small shuttle last minute for our employees needing to get to an off-site event. So make sure you confirm. Don't assume, as we did, that the shuttles are ADA accessible. Great park located right across the street, where we held more team fun events. Stayed here for 2 nights and let me tell you, it's so worth it! (For some odd reason, yelp won't allow me to upload my video of the room, so no uploads from me since I didn't take any pictures.) Pros: -new hotel=modern -Ac works fantastic! Quiet and cool! -Smart tv has Netflix, YouTube & Amazon Prime. You just have to sign into your account. -dual shower head -bed was super comfortable -window wall with great view -check in time 3pm & checkout time 12pm (you don't get that often) -staff super friendly! Check in and check out was a breeze -valet parking only, but was super fast with service so no complaints there. From what I notice, there's no garage parking so the parked cars are out in the sun. Cons: -No microwave -No extra pillows or blankets in closet -Pillows were too soft so your head sinks in -no wall between bathroom so if someone showers, you'll hear the water. -small sink counter -short sink counter. Meaning the sink bowl is longer than the sink counter so when you wash your face, water drips/splashes on your feet and the floor. -water pressure in shower is ehh. Can be better. -no bathroom fan in the toilet -walls were thin. Can hear upstair neighbor and their music and cleaners cleaning next door to our room. -from what I saw, there wasn't a shop that you can buy snacks or drinks, or last minute things like painkillers, travel necessities. We have stayed twice at the Meridien during our road trips through LA. Both times have been very enjoyable. Our most recent visit included dining at their asian-fusion themed restaurant Melange, and our meal was incredible. Now that COVID disruptions have been somewhat ameliorated, the experience was much better than our previous stay (not that we had anything to complain about). Friendly staff in the lobby welcomed us warmly, we were given a beautiful high floor room, and parking was safe. the hotel is across the seat from a lovely park that was a nice place to walk. Our delicious dinner included Yellowtail Crudo, Grilled Prawns, Gem Salad and the Chilean Sea Bass. everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We will definitely add this hotel to our list of hotels to return to in LA. It is a more suburban area, so you will need a car to get to anything (something to keep in mind). read more

Excellent service by the Valet Very friendly Staff at the front desk The corner room with the view of the race track was amazing! The coffee on the beautiful lobby early morning was so fresh and so tasty! They have an outside swimming pool and lots of greens spaces .. very nice for the dogs. What a wonderful stay we had at The Meridien! From the Valet to the gentleman who was at the front desk, we felt very special. The room had a great wonderful view and the surroundings was decorated tastefully. An easy text to the Valet to have our car at the ready when we left for dinner was a nice touch. What a surprise to step outside the elevator and see a framed Hermes scarf. How lovely! Would highly recommend a stay at The Meridien. read more
