The show started as soon as we sat down so there wasn't much time to eat and really enjoy the food. Also they want you to leave as soon as the show is over. No lingering. And if you didn't get to try everything on your first (and only) trip to the buffet then you are out of luck. Overall the experience was good. The food I did try was very tasty. We were visiting family, and this is one of the restaurant choices they gave us. It is a freestanding building with lots of parking and very easy to get to. Le Moo is known to be excellent dinner choice, but I can't imagine anything being better than their brunch. I had chicken and waffles, which were the best I've ever had. The waffle were made from sweet potatoes, which gave it an interesting flair and the fried chicken was perfectly prepared. My daughters had the blueberry waffles with house-made blueberry syrup, fresh blueberries, and vanilla bean ice cream... it probably doesn't get much better than this! They were absolutely delicious! The interior is very swanky and unique. They even have a Louis Vuitton booth, which requires a certain dollar amount spent before you can sit there. I would recommend reservations because it does tend to get quite busy. It will definitely be a place I will re-visit over and over again. How do I start this?.. I would not recommend this place to eat. I am unsure as to why they have good reviews on their food. My husband had the 10 ounce American Wagyu and it was tougher and less flavorful than my 6oz filet(that's only because was a steak Diane). The prawns I had were as tough as my filet was. The server did not ask us how our meal was(I feel like he knew it was terrible) and only asked if I wanted another drink after our food was done. The only thing that was good was the pan fried mashed potatoes. Those were amazing! With that said... We would have been better off at Texas Roadhouse. It pains me to say that I had a definite 3 star experience at Le Moo this pat Sunday for brunch. I even considered 2 stars. We arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation time of 12:30 and were not seated until 12:50. When being seated, we walked past several empty tables and were placed in the back corner around the bar where it was freezing, for whatever reason. We asked if any other warmer placed tables were open and they said it would be quite a while. Moving on..I decided to go with a specialty mimosa this trip - the Kelly Sue. I truly loved this cocktail and recommend it but this was the only good thing about our experience. The french press coffee left grounds floating in all of the mugs....eh. We had the queso appetizer which is $12...steep for queso but we prayed it would be worth it. We were not a fan pork grinds they served to dip in the queso and the tortilla chips that were on the plate had salt matted on them. On to the entree, I always do the breakfast burrito. It's a delicious and reliable choice but this time I wanted to branch out. I ordered the Not Your Father's Oldsmobile. It lacked flavor for how many different ingredients were in it. The poached eggs on top were hard inside, they did not run into the dish when I poked them. In addition, when I order short rib - I expect it to be tender but mine was tough and hard to break up with a fork! One of the first things I noticed about Le Moo was how big it is. There is a bar when you first walk in and then what looked like two more large spaces. The atmosphere is an elegant barbarian feel with a random touch of sparkle. There are lots of great menu choices spanning in price range. It was hard to make the right choice, luckily, I went with a group so we ordered appetizers! The spinach queso ($14) and wagyu pigs in a blanket ($10). The spinach queso was yummy! It was served with pork rinds and tortilla chips. The pork rinds were delicious with the queso. I did not care for the wagyu pigs in a blanket. I think it was the cherry wood bacon jam and bleu cheese... I have never been a fan of cook fruit. I tried the burger ($18) for my lunch entree and it was delicious and huge! Overall I would have to say my absolute favorite was the drunkin fries with the sriracha ketchup (not spicy just a little kick). Our server was friendly and patient, as it took a while for the full group to arrive and we were slow to order. Our party of five went out to eat to celebrate my sister-in-law visiting from out of country. She had never had great steak and we thought there was no place better to take her. We had reservations and a small welcome champagne for the adults upon our arrival. Our food was remarkable and our server was wonderful and very helpful on selecting dishes. The smoked old fashioned is a nice experience and wagu steak is certainly something to savor. Lobster tails and steak combos were great. The atmosphere is classy and comforting. The only negative was that my wife ordered and never received her sides, nor did they make it in the bag. When I reached out to the restaurant I was transferred from the hostess to a voicemail box. I explained the situation, left my name and callback information, and never heard back. Was here last night for my sister's birthday dinner. Everything was amazing from the drinks to the prompt table service down to the hospitality level of our server, Walter. I had the Tiger Lily drink to start off the night and it was a refreshing one. Went down smooth and had floral hints to it. And you know we all had to order our steaks, can NOT go to a steak house and not have steak. My sister and I shared the 18 oz (3 diff 6 oz cuts of filet) along with potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms for sides. It was fantastic! We ended the meal with their ribbon winning espresso cake! We had a great girls brunch at Le Moo. It was a drag brunch and they had 3 entertainers. All were put on a pretty good show. One from West Virginia and she did the best as far as dancing and performing. All did a lip sync to various tracks. I wish they had danced more and really performed but it was more so a walk around the room to collect tips. The $5 mimosas had us more into it then we may have been if sober. I though my main dish was just ok, but there are some other highlights. I would come back to give it one more chance given the nice atmosphere. Highlights: I had a pretty tasty boozy coffee. Le Moo is absolutely lovely. I can't believe this was my first time here but I'll definitely be back. I went with some friends for the weekend brunch. Big tip - you absolutely must make reservations. It's easy to do online and it will save you hassle and long wait times (over an hour). The restaurant is beautifully and eclectically decorated. It reminds me of a mixture between ornate and rustic. Lots of crystal chandeliers, ornate gold frames, and velvet but also rustic touches of wood and exposed brick. It's lovely. The menu looked amazing. I wanted one of everything! I settled on the short rib hash with a side of tater tot casserole. And if you love mimosas (doesn't everyone?) then this is your place. Small mimosas are $1 each and they have a jumbo size for $3. It's probably the best mimosa deal in town. The hash was good but I felt it needed salt and hot sauce. I'll try something else next time because everything on the menu sounded great. Went here for my friends birthday and it was fantastic. Service was amazing. We had a few minor hiccups with our meal (none of which I would ever leave a bad review over) but the management staff and our server made sure we were not leaving dissatisfied. They went above and beyond with their customer service and that steak melted in your mouth like butter. Great experience! As with many restaurants, I'm always eager to try the ones with high ratings and good reviews. I usually always want to experience the hype. I had no idea Le Moo was located very close to a route I often take. The outside is a little to be desired. I certainly didn't think I was about to enter a rather experience establishment. But...walking in I immediately noticed how very large the restaurant is and it's sort of dark. The bar is huge, wrapped with plenty of seating on all three sides. The walls are adorned with plenty of....(I can't remember what...I just recall it being a lot of something) w/ lots of exposed brick, which I like a lot. I sat at the bar, as it was practically empty and I wanted a good tasting and fairly quick meal. I ordered the 8 oz choice filet with a fully loaded baked potato, the Le Moo Cesar salad (minus the anchovies) with a poached egg and bacon strip, and a Creme Brûlée for dessert. The steak was perfectly cooked to my preferred temperature - medium well. It was very tender, very flavorful, and a bit juicy. I was only able to eat half of the steak and it tasted just as good, if not better the next day. The loaded baked potatoe was so BIG! I literally got three servings out of it. All ingredients tasted great and I enjoyed its leftovers the next day about as much as I did the filet. Really enjoyable at Le Moo and at home!! The Le Moo Cesar salad was great - fresh and crispy - love that bacon, bacon!! The cesar dressing had a punch to it, which I loved!! The chef did great on the Creme Brûlée, it was a nice finish to a great and very enjoyable meal. The meal arrived in a reasonable amount time and presentation was great - from the entree to my dessert. The service was awesome in more ways than one. Your server(s) writes their name on a Le Moo signature card, which is placed in front of you during your visit. How cute! Both servers checked on me throughout my meal without over doing it. My bill arrived tucked inside an old paperback novel (maybe a romance novel..not my *thang*, but hey I can roll with it). It was titled, His Sinful Touch by Candace Camp. Now here is a great final touch - they have an efficient and unique way of handling to-go's. Your server will take your place to have your to-go packaged. Your server will give you a ticket with a number written on it. You give your ticket # to the hostess located at the entrance and she/he will hand you your to-go, which obviously has your corresponding number written on it. And I'd like to add that from the appearance of my to-go container, they took time to make sure my food was patiently, carefully, and nicely placed inside the to-go container and not just scraped from plate to container and it all fall where it may. Truthfully, I don't know how to describe the decor. It felt kind of dungeony, gothic, cold, eclectic, - especially in the ladies room. But...it was clean and usable. Enough for me. Ordered mimosas and only one of the two came after 10+ minutes, had to remind our server that we ordered two, then the beer took over 20 minutes to be delivered. Decadent. That's the first word that comes to mind when describing my first trip to Le Moo, for a weekend brunch. I have to hand it to Kevin Grangier. His vision for the location that housed KT's restaurant for decades has brought a revitalization that few would have anticipated. KT's was a Louisville classic, but le buzz about surrounding Le Moo makes me think that this will also have a long and cherished existence in this city. "I feel like I'm on vacation," I remarked at one point to my companion as we relaxed at our table. What with the pleasant weekend morning, the outdoor dining, and the tasty $1 Mimosas, it felt miles away from ordinary. The patio is has a bright color scheme, and a row of cabanas lines the far end. I wasn't swank enough to nab one of those on my brunch trip, but their proximity still made me feel that I was somewhere exclusive. After much deliberation over the cleverly-titled menu items, I decided on a Tenderloin Omelette, with friend getting "Ve grande o ir a casa" -- "Go big or go home". In the meantime, we kept our thirst at bay with a French press coffee, that came with the cutest basket of accoutrement that I have ever seen. Tiny copper pots of creamer (looked like a mini Moscow Mule container) sat next to a small ramekin of mini chocolate chips, all intended to make the coffee even more delicious. The food was over the top, in a great way. I could hardly believe that someone had been audacious enough to stuff an omelette with mushrooms and tenderloin, then smother it in Hollandaise sauce, but whoever did was brunch culinary genius. A side salad of field greens with fresh strawberries and a light vinaigrette kept me from feeling guilty about my indulgence -- I got my fruits and veggies in, didn't I? Service was perfectly attentive and professional throughout, with all of the staff that we encountered being pleasant, knowledgeable, and seeming to be pleased to be of service to us that morning. Before I rolled out for the day, I made it a point to check out the inside of the restaurant. Dimly lit and decorated with heavy touches such as chains suspending a chandelier, Le Moo balances the decor with warmer elements such as exposed wood and copper to keep up the chic in the industrial chic feel. Of course, the cow theme is never far away, what with several oil paintings of cattle and the bathroom stall doors that are more reminiscent of a steel barn stall than a bathroom stall. The verdict: Le Moo is worth the buzz that it's generating, and is well-poised to become a staple for Louisvillians and visitors to the Derby City alike for years to come. read more

We went to LeMoo for my mother's birthday. It's difficult to find a good gift for a December birthday so I opted to take her someplace new and near where we go to church. I'd heard a lot of good things about LeMoo which extended beyond, "it replaced KT's" which was not in and of itself unwelcome news. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous without being kitschy or stuffy. It was a really beautiful place to sit and eat if nothing else, but the food was excellent. We started with Caesar salads (be bold, get the anchovies) and on its own the salad could be a meal. It knocked my socks off. I almost didn't want to try my meal because I was afraid it wouldn't be able to compete. I am glad to report that I was wrong. The only blight on my evening was the brief disappointment that the pot pie I wanted to try wasn't available. I opted for the steak and eggs (as did my father) and we both enjoyed it immensely. I was going to go for one of the steak dinners but I was looking for something 'different' and I am glad I had the steak and eggs. What could have been boring was rich and flavorful and beautifully presented. My mother had the beef stroganoff and as she isn't a big eater I tried what she didn't finish. There is a huge benefit to being tacky like that, it was amazing. It's probably the best beef stroganoff I've ever had and it is one of my favorite dishes. It managed to keep it simple and be something I would go back for any day of the week. It was the perfect dish on a cold day. Our waiter was also amazing, if you can get Adrian get Adrian. I didn't have any connection to him other than, "looks like our cousin Leon" and, "he talked me into a thirteen dollar bottle of beer." I'm not talking up a buddy, he did a great job. They didn't have the beer I wanted and he was able to suggest an alternative in a way that convinced me to drink something that costs over half of my weekly grocery budget. He may have used a Jedi mind trick on me but I'm glad he did. The beer was excellent. The rest of the staff was helpful and knowledgeable as well. LeMoo is a little pricy for my taste to make a habit of coming here but I will definitely be back for a special occasion in the future. I have been here once before and that time the food was amazing and the experience really really good, so I decided to come with my friends again but was super disappointing service and food. Had a reservation at 8.30 , which we got seated around 8.50 pm, then our waiter took orders about another 15 minutes...as we were really hungry we were getting frustrated over time with a no show on appetizers or main course... we raised a complaint to another waitress who brought in the manager and gave us some nachos and chips to snack while we wait....finally when the food arrived...we were even more disappointed as the Braised lamb we ordered (dont get me wrong, this is a really good dish) but was a bit too salty ... we ordered the 10 oz wagyu steak which had no salt at all... the fries we ordered as sides were super soggy.... the restaurant did nothing to atleast have some ownership of all this for a 200$ tab walking out the door..... The menu is blends breakfast and lunch items nicely. The $3 Jumbo Mimosas are served in Cabernet wine glasses are well worth the price. We ordered "It's Not Your Father's Oldsmobile." This was a pulled short rib hash with hash browns, diced red pepper, onions, and cubed butternut squash, served with two poached eggs. My sister and I shared this dish and there was enough left over to feed another person. We enjoyed this dish. We finished off our meal with biscuits and ordered the candied bacon for our appetizer. I have now tried Le Moo twice. Once for their famous brunch and once for dinner. I can completely say that I love this place! Everything is so tasty and flavorful and mouthwatering and fun and delicious. And, and, and, and.... For brunch I had the Steak Tenderloin Omelette. It was filled with cheese, mushrooms, and steak. Then they topped it with house made Hollandaise sauce. Ohhhh my my! Scrumptious. I'm a sucker for Hollandaise so this was a special treat. As a side on the plate there was also a nice strawberry salad. I sucked down two jumbo mimosas during my brunch. For only $3 a piece...what a deal! I had them make mine with pomegranate and grapefruit juice instead of the typical orange juice. Wonderful! My mom had the Eggs Benedict and she said it was the best she's ever had. I'm telling ya...the house made Hollandaise made the meal. When I was there for dinner I had the Filet Mignon with cheese grit cakes and a side of Béarnaise sauce. Again...house made sauce and holy schmoly was it good!! My steak was perfectly cooked. Cut like butter. Everyone else at my table had a steak and one person had the Beef Stroganoff which she said was also delicious. The entire experience was a win-win! We also had a lovely outdoor table on a beautiful evening. Fantastic! I can't wait to come back for brunch. I can easily afford that. This place is definitely an experience you don't want to miss out on if you are visiting Louisville! We were celebrating a friends birthday. The host put together a birthday card and balloons display for you at your table. The atmosphere is an old rustic feel with dark colors and cool lighting. We made a reservation and were a little early so we waited for our table to be ready. Once we got seated it did take longer than it should have been to be greeted. Finally we were approached by Michelle. As she was introducing herself a supervisor came up to her and asked if she is okay. Kinda odd... She said yes and went on with her spiel. A few minutes later that same supervisor came up to our table and said he will be taking care of us tonight. It seemed they were very busy or under staffed. We had good service but you could tell the manager was very busy and was rushed while talking with us. I would definitely order the pigs in a blanket and a big steak. They are known for their steaks and cuts. The atmosphere was my favorite part! Will be back soon! read more

Went there for dinner last night and I was pretty disappointed in the quality of the food. The crab in their seafood tower special was overly dry. I got the prime ribeye and it was cooked how I ordered it but was just okay. Their sides didn't seem to offer many options. The loaded baked potato I got was really good, but the mushroom medley tasted like they got it from a can. For the price, there are way better steakhouses in Louisville (Steak & Bourbon and Jeff Ruby's come to mind) which is sad because I do find their brunch to be good. read more

I came here for brunch with a group of friends to start our hunt for bridesmaid dresses. I made a reservation through the OpenTable app and when I went to the hostess stand, Alesha was very welcoming and helped me get our table set up. Once I was seated, I waited for the rest of the crew to get there. Once everyone got there, we got the jumbo mimosa's which was $3, a great deal if you ask me. I would recommend only getting two if you plan to do other things throughout the day. A lot of us ordered different items, I ordered the "Myra stole it from her mom." I got it without the eggs, as I don't eat them but I did exchange out the sausage for bacon. The biscuits were soft and the bacon wasn't overcooked either. I wasn't too much of the pork rinds but they tasted decent, I just would have rather ate those later in the day. one of my friends got their waffle and I tried a bite which was super great. The waffle was warm and fluffy and the berry puree was delicious. The restaurant itself was very clean and the staff was great. I would recommend if you are looking for a moderately priced brunch. There was a time that I have strongly recommended LeMoo. That time has past. The short version of this review- very expensive prices for what is basically poor quality of preparation and no real attempt to address customer concerns. Here's the longer version if interested- I have had two recent visits (1/28 and 3/2) to LeMoo for a family birthday celebration ( parties of 8 or 9) each time. The first time I ordered a prime steak cooked medium and it was delivered to me cooked "rare" . The server recognized and assured me it would be remedied. I then received my steak cut into two pieces- one very well done and the other med rare. Again the server recognized the issue and offered me a free dessert. So if you want poorly prepared steaks and very costly dessert , LeMoo may be for you. In an attempt to resolve this issue further, I stopped by a few days later and spoke to a hostess who took my name and assured me the manager would reach out. This never happened. I also exchanged several emails w the general manager, Anna. She agreed this incident was handled poorly and in a subsequent visit she would " put notes in our reservation" and " take care of your meal". I informed her of our next planned visit. The subsequent visit was last night (3/2) and no such action was taken. As a curious aside, when we were seated last night there was a rather large ( 2-3" long by 1-2" wide ) shard of glass in the chair of one member of our party. Fortunately, he noticed it and returned to the hostess station. How's that for ambiance! On the most recent visit, I decided to avoid paying top dollar to have someone ruin a good piece of meat so I tried the dish, Steak & Eggs. This is billed as a flat iron steak, grilled medium, served over potatoes w gravy and poached eggs. The preparation failed miserably! I received several pieces of steak cooked ranging from rare to well done. The poached eggs were cooked beyond what any diner could call over-hard. There was no oozy, golden yolk to bath the dish in a rich sauce. This dish was a complete failure. To finish the evening there was not one, not two but three attempts and failures to present us w an accurate bill. So in conclusion my suggestion is if you want to pay handsomely for poorly prepared food and marginal customer care, LeMoo is a good choice. Personally I plan to spend my Louisville dining opportunities w establishments that seem to value their loyal customers and prepare food with a degree of skill that is in line with the price and reputation they wish to maintain. read more

Second trip here last night. Wife got the filet and I got scallops. Steak was good. It was cooked the way she ordered (medium rare). Nothing bad about the steak really... Just underwhelming in general. The fries that came with it were excellent. At the suggestion of the waiter I ordered scallops. These were bad. Gritty with a slight taste of ammonia. With all of the good restaurants in Louisville, I don't think I'll be going back to this one. The only good thing is you can get in easy. That is actually why we ended up here.
