Le moo is a very high upscale and nice steak house that evidently also is popular for brunch in the Cherokee triangle portion of Louisville Kentucky. Last night to celebrate my wife and I 14th wedding anniversary we had reservations at 5pm. We arrived about 15 min early (I was raised if your on time you are late). The very nice hostess explained to us they actually don't open to 5pm and said they were going to have a 15 min pre opening staff meeting and asked if we wouldn't mind waiting on there lovely outside patio. She asked the name on the reservation and without even glancing down when I gave her the name she said "the anniversary right?" So that was nice she memorized the guest list and the social celebrations like that. The bar tender was nearby and said "congrats, tell you what since we are asking you to wait on the patio and it's your anniversary I'll bring you two a couple glasses of complimentary champagne". So that was very nice. The hostess also gave us cold small bottles of water. So we go wait on the patio and the champagne was very good. No idea what type it was. But normally I do not like champagne and I could definetly drink this again. Very good. So 5pm comes and they come and get us and sit us down. Waking in and you can tell the decor here is not only lovely but very unique and has a cool theme. Our table is the only one Donned in a white table cloth and we have a "happy anniversary" card waiting for us at the table. So far we are blown away by the service here! Upon sitting down and looking at the menu we decided to get a cocktail and an app. We went with tiger lily cocktail and while it was good it was a bit on the smaller end portion wise. We went with a wagyu pigs in a blanket app and it was really good. I've never had Wagyu beef and it was super tender. The bacon jam on it was great! Nice flavor. For our entrees I went with a 14 oz ribeye prime cooked medium and a side of mashed potatoes. My wife got the 14 oz New York strip 14 oz prime cooked medium with a loaded baked potato. She also got half a wedge salad. The steaks were very good and tender and cooked correctly. I wasn't a fan of my mashed potatoes. They were cooked in a patty style. My wife was a bigger fan then me of them and even called them great. So maybe that was just a "me" thing. For the steaks I kinda wish I paid the extra for some type of fancy topping or sauce. While it was good it was missing something that other top end steakhouse steaks had. I believe it was some type of topping such as butter. Every thing we ate here was very good. That said, Flavor wise I think it is a tad bit behind some of the other local high end steak kings like Jeff Ruby's, steak and Bourbon and Ruth Chris. I'd say it's on par with places like j Alexander's and Stoney River. Which is nothing to be Ashamed of. All those places are phenomenal. Where le moo separates itself from the pack is with its service and decor. Top notch. They made our special day feel even more special. While a lot of places do a free dessert on celebrations and le moo does not they still go all out and make a big deal for you. Most the high end places you have to tell them it's a celebration. Here they checked the reservation and had a special table waiting for us. So that was cool. Overall we had a great time and a memorable anniversary dinner. Very nice establishment. Obviously at the pricing ($160 for both of us) like other high end places I won't come here on a weekly basis. But I'll absolutely come back on special occasions or just as a treat to ourselves. We stopped here for brunch on a Sunday morning before heading home right at opening. The decor and ambiance here is fantastic, and during another trip I'd definitely stop back for dinner. Their coffee is fantastic but their orange juice left a lot to be desired (I don't know for certain, but it certainly didn't seem to be freshly squeezed which is what you'd expect here). We started with an order of biscuits that were some of the best I've had in a while. My steak omelette just didn't meet my expectations, and while I would've likely been 4 stars, my last bite tasted like they spilled an entire salt shaker on it, which left me a little salty (poor pun intended) and I had to spit it out. I took my wife to Le Moo for Valentine's Day. This use to be our favorite restaurant and is the first time back in over a year because our previous experience was so bad. I really wish I had booked a reservation at another restaurant for Valentine's Day. The food was horrible and the service even worse. I ordered a tomahawk steak which is my absolute favorite and it was overcooked (well done) and tasteless. My wife ordered a prime ribeye who was also overcooked and she only ate a few bites. When the waitress asked if we'd like to go boxed we both declined. Waitress never asked why and I believe this is because she knew. At one point during the dinner my wife said "we should have just gone to LongHorn". Price doesn't reflect quality in my opinion and this is the absolute last time I will be eating at Le Moo. Lastly I find the current state of Le Moo to be sad compared to what it was just a few years ago. My hope is that when they go out of business another quality restaurant moves in. read more

Because it's Valentines Day weekend, every table had been claimed by reservation (hint: if it's a special night, MAKE A RESY!), but there were ample seats at the bar. The bartender was super nice, but service was a bit slow. However, we weren't in a rush so it was perfectly fine. We ordered vegge omelet, tenderloin omelet, chicken & waffles, and the Oldsmobile (braised short rib). Compared to the prices, i only thought the Oldsmobile was worth but everything tasted fresh & fine. They also have $1 mimosas and $3 jumbo mimosas in a wine glass. After a day full of delicious food in Louisville, we made reservations here for dinner without being overly hungry. This was a mistake because I wish I was hungrier! I definitely would have started off with the mussels! Anyway, we had a ribeye and the pork chop and they were both cooked to perfection. We had three of the cowboy cocktails and loved them!! We chose Caesar salad instead of an appetizer. I must say this wasn't that good compared to other places I've been. (9/10 I always order a Caesar btw). Entrees were House Ribeye with loaded potato and Burger & Fries. The burger was the best burger I've had. Truly delish. The ribeye was perfectly seared and full of medium rare flavor. So for Valentine's Day, we chose to go to Le Moo and I do not regret it one bit! There was a Valentine's Day special that was a meal for two with an appetizer, salad for each person, an entrée and a dessert! My favorite part of this course was the strawberry salad that is unfortunately not on their actual menu. Our waiter was very kind and did not hesitate to answer all our questions in detail. Le Moo was absolutely fabulous in every way. We came here for my mother-in-law's birthday, and we were very well taken care of. We had the shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were *massive* and perfectly tender. For entrees, my in-laws had the porterhouse and my wife and I had the Steak Diane and the 14oz NY Strip respectively. My wife and I enjoyed our steaks, but my mother-in-law felt her steak was overcooked and sent it back. Not only did Anna (the shift manager) and Jeremy (our waiter) take it back, but they made sure the steak was remade to perfection and made sure we had bread for the table in the meantime. I cannot say enough positive things about Le Moo, and particularly the staff. Jeremy was fantastic and witty, and Anna checked on everyone throughout the evening across the restaurant. We visited Le Moo for our anniversary dinner this year. I had been for brunch several times but never for dinner. We started with the bread basket with multiple dips and while it was very good it was so big and so filling I don't recommend it for a small table as it made it hard to eat the rest of the meal. I started with the crab and corn chowder with bacon and it was good but probably a little more fishy tasting that I'd prefer. My husband had a Caesar Salad and he enjoyed it a lot. For my entree I had a filet with truffle butter and a side of greens and a loaded baked potato and all of that was wonderful. The steak was cooked perfectly and the greens were delicious. We shared a bread pudding dessert and it was delicious as well and I would absolutely get it again. The service was on point and perfect for the occasion. Not too rushed and not too slow. I also liked the champagne that we were given before we were seated. It was a nice touch. I would visit again however for the price I'm not sure it's my favorite place around for a special occasion. My husband and I don't mind treating ourselves to an expensive meal but a $200 dinner should have blown are socks off and we were left disappointed. We ordered a bottle of Cabernet ($70) but struggled to find a bottle that wasn't unreasonably marked up in price (many bottles that would be $15-20 in the store were priced at $70 at the restaurant). The mussel appetizer (~$25) was good; additional bread would have been nice but they charge for bread. My redfish entree ($40, given the Le Moo special stamp) was very salty; the mashed potatoes that came with it were good. My husband's steak (8 oz prime filet, $60) was good and cooked correctly; he liked his side of cheesy grit cakes. The food was hot, the service was great. We just won't be returning for dinner due to our feeling that the value isn't there. Le Moo has long been my favorite brunch spot in the area. I love their $1 basic mimosa/$3 jumbo mimosa deal. I always get their veggie omelette and love it as well as the salad it comes with. I also appreciate that they take reservations for brunch as I hate having to wait with my name on a list. Service here is always friendly and timely. Heads up, it's always hard to find a parking spot despite the large parking lot! The steak was beautifully moist and the mashed potatoes were visually fun and seasoned well. I devoured my entree since it was served immediately after it was prepared instead of it waiting to be picked up as it happens at times in restaurants. I don't have steak that often when dining out in restaurants due to the questionable old taste and or how it's cooked. However, this was one of the few times where I really appreciated the way medium rare steak was prepared and tasted. Would I order it again? Perhaps but for the price, it would have to be a special occasion. $14 Espresso Cake - I'm glad it was a large piece. Definitely enough to share with another. The cake was moist and the few pieces of the chocolate covered whole espresso beans on top were a fun surprise addition. Overall: keep in mind that it's REALLY expensive but the steak was well seasoned, prepared and tasty. Yes to the dessert if you're ok spending $14 on it. The side order of Fried Cheese Grits looked like two large hush puppies & were absolutely gourmet. The balsamic Strawberry mixed greens were also fresh & very nice. OK my wife and I went here for our anniversary one evening. I have always been wanting to try this place and was excited for the opportunity. We had a good time. The waiter was top notch. I enjoyed him for sure. The ambience was amazing. It looked really pretty in there and was really nice. I feel strange giving such a fancy place a mediocre rating but to be honest I wasn't impressed. My boyfriend and I went the day after Valentines Day, so keep that in mind. You are gonna feel fancy! Let me preface by saying that I have only ever been here for brunch. I'm not really much of a steakhouse person and that part of their offerings is probably a little too rich for my blood. But brunch....brunch here is surprisingly affordable! You can make reservations via their website on OpenTable. And if you have a larger group, I would certainly recommend doing this. Generally, I have come here with just one other person, and at the times we have gotten here, we have not had to wait for a table. You can get $1 mimosas! Or, save the server a couple trips and get the $3 JUMBO mimosa. Either way, you are gonna be happy. There are a few specialty mimosas...but stick with the classic. More bang for your buck. Take note, in regards to coffee...if you want cheap, regular, drip and refillable coffee...I think you need to specify that. Otherwise...you will get a French press set up, all fancy-like, with a small thing of chocolate chips to stir in to sort of mocha it all up! As for the brunch foods...prices range from about $7 to $39 (steaks, y'all...they aren't just for dinner!). So if you are on a budget, you can still probably find something you can afford. Including sides and extras for even a little less. If you get a full meal-sized dish...you do get your money's worth! The portion sizes are very generous! I have had the chorizo omelet and very much liked it. But for me, the Love Love Me Do chorizo hash bowl is where it's AT!! After spending a week on the bourbon trail for a friend's 30th birthday, simply sitting down and enjoying a drag show brunch was just what everyone needed to wrap up this part of vacation. The majority of Le Moo seems to be for "normal" dining, but there's a private event section in the back we were escorted to. The room seemed rather overcrowded, but I guess the drag show brunch is super popular. We were dismissed table by table to fill our plates on the buffet, and wait staff came by to take drink orders. I got a Bloody Mary but didn't eat much from feeling homesick... I even got asked if the food was okay, which was so thoughtful of the restaurant. I know this review isn't about the drag show itself, but everything was a smooth operation, from the floating tip bucket to the drag queens dancing around wait staff for how little room they had. It was overall a warm and welcoming experience. There was a show right after ours, so photos were taken quickly, and tables started being cleaned up efficiently. Parking can be a challenge out front (despite the large lot) especially in the rain that we had. Make sure to have reservations and arrive early. Love that Le Moo is very family-friendly but also great for large brunch parties. Based on other reviews, I'd actually love to come back and try food and drink off their regular menu. Cannot even begin to recommend this place enough! I came here to celebrate my 25th birthday, along with my father in law's birthday and we enjoyed every moment! When we arrived the staff was incredibly attentive and had our table all set up with balloons and a card thanking us for picking there for our birthday dinner. Our waiter, Brian, and his server assistant, Sophie, were incredibly attentive to our needs and so kind! Brian's knowledge of the menu was so impressive, and he helped to reassure us of what would be best for our tastes. We ended up choosing to all share a couple of items off of the menu, with the NY Bread Basket (w/ assorted gravies and butters) and the 32 oz tomahawk steak being our favorites. If you're looking for a brunch spot this is a really good one, highly recommend! We were being fatties so we ordered love love me do, not your father's old mobile and myra stole it from her mom. I asked for hard over eggs also since i don't like/can't eat poached runny eggs normally but they cooked them a little bit more even for the poached eggs so i could still eat it or just the whites which was nice. Love love me do and father's oldmobile were good my favorite was the love love me do for the chorizo. It's hashed up with homefries and egg, peppers, squash. Probably could've used a kick to it for me personally but with that gravy it was very good and not that heavy. Shortrib was sliced thin but a tad dry for me but really good with that sauce. The biscuits geavy and sausage was also really good but so heavy (whole meal was but again we ordered mad food). That gravy is seriously the big winner. Also ordered the tatertot casserole which was good but a bit small for what we thought was the large version. Didn't taste the bacon in it but it was yum and added some crunch to our meal since we needed some of that. Came during valentine's day weekend so i'm not sure if they have this all the time but they have flowers and candles all over. Draped booth areas and little gated areas it definitely had that parisian feel which was adorable. Service was great they were pretty on top of things. A must stop every time we are in or near Louisville. We've unfortunately only been for brunch with hopes to later down the road do dinner here as their steaks always look amazing. Our server was so kind an awesome, one of my favorite things about this place is the style. I don't know if it's like an industrial theme but I love all the copper and art. My finance got the eggs Benedict which she was a huge fan of, I got an old fashioned and a breakfast burger. I can't remember the name of the burger but it was fun. read more
