We came for our anniversary and we were not disappointed at all!!! We had amazing service from the minute we walked in the door. Greeted with smiles and welcoming conversation and were quickly seated at our table. Our waiter was phenomenal and check on us often to make sure we had anything we desired. I loved that they had this little happy anniversary card on the table. Those kinds of little touches really mean a lot and really makes me want to come back again and tell others too as well. The best steak in Louisville. We went here a few years ago and knew we had to make it back someday- and that day was today! Let's start with covid stuff- servers wore masks and gloves, everything felt very safe. I ordered the tiger lily cocktail and it was super delicious! Our appetizer was a bread basket with various dipping sauces and butters and O. M. G. Was it amazing. Super fun to be able to try all the different things and they were all so so flavorful and delicious. We ended up asking for an extra piece of bread to finish off the sauces. For my entree, I ordered an 8 ounce prime filet, cooked medium, with blue cheese crusted, and skillet mashed potatoes for the side. I ended up having them take the steak back and cook it longer because it was cooked to a more medium rare to rare, but it was no problem at all. Everyone at the table got the skillet mashed potatoes because they're just that good. We went to celebrate my fiancé's birthday, and they had a little card and balloons set up at our table when we got there (we had a reservation). They have a cool deal where you get the number of your birthday off of your entree price when you get four or more entrees all together (he is 23, so $23 off his meal). They also wrote happy birthday on the plate of the dessert he ordered! I got the pecan cheesecake for dessert which is funny because I'm not the biggest pecan OR cheesecake fan, but I tasted it last time and knew I had to get it again. I will start by saying that this is one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Here's why! We were celebrating my mom's 75th birthday. I noted this on the reservation and when they called me to confirm, they asked the name of the birthday girl. When we arrived, there were balloons on the table and a card addressed to my mom. They presented her with a complimentary glass of champagne to get started. We ordered some old fashioneds and I tried the Tiger Lily cocktail (twice) which was SO amazing. Be sure to try it! My parents ordered salads one was a featured salad with heirloom tomatoes and watermelon, mozzarella and drizzled with balsamic. Very tasty. We also ordered the wagyu pigs in a blanket in a bacon jam sauce. Yum! We thoroughly enjoyed the prime filets, which were perfectly prepared. And although I did not get a bite, mom loved the Miyazaki wagyu filet! They had a 5 oz offered that night. For those that do not like lima beans, I highly encourage you to try their version. It's almost like a rich creamy bean soup with country ham on top. Even for the lima bean haters out there, I think you will like this. Exemplary service was provided by Seth. He provided a warm welcome, thoroughly explaining the menu options and made recommendations when asked. He also offered to be our photographer, snapping pictures for us on several occasions. We finished our meal with a huge slice of fudgy espresso cake adorned with chocolate espresso beans. We split dessert four ways and still had some to take home. When you only eat steak on rare occasion and are willing to pay an arm and a leg you expect the steak to be fantastic melt in your mouth delicious. In this case, not so much. We left feeling disappointed and believe that they are over rated and over priced. The service was great but the food.... not so much. We reviewed the menu and chose to not order a starter but instead ordered two soups and split a salad. The chorizo and white bean soup and the crab corn chowder. Out of the two, the crab corn chowder was definitely the winner. Both were delicious but the chorizo white bean was something with a more homey feel that honestly could be made at home. We followed with the haricots verts and asparagus salad which was THE BEST part of our entire meal. The salad was perfectly compiled of flavors and textures. Savory, sweet, salty, and crunchy all mixed in. It was absolutely devine. We then followed that with the special for the evening which was a 101$ porterhouse accompanied with the servers suggested sides which were the Lima beans and the skillet fried mashed potatoes. I have been to multiple top ranked steak houses around the city of Louisville and this is not one that I would come back to. I was disappointed in the fact that I needed a dipping sauce for the steak. The bone marrow was delicious but once the bone marrow ran out I needed something else to put my steak into in order to continue eating it. The lima beans lacked flavor. I had to add salt and pepper which in my opinion, when things are properly prepared, you should not have to add any additional seasonings. The bacon on top was the best part. It was good for the texture because honestly, I felt like I was eating a bowl of mush. The skillet fried mashed potatoes are average mashed potatoes that have been slightly pan fried on both sides, but nothing spectacular. We expected them to be crunchy on the outside with a soft center on the inside essentially like fries when cooked just right. Overall, we were upset. For this place to be ranked so highly, it is natural to expect much more appetizing food to be coming out of that kitchen. Maybe brunch is better and more entertaining, or so I've heard. read more

Not only is the food usually great, but the service (champagne while you wait for your table, option of sparkling or still water, checking on us and food). We of course love the ambiance as well. Unfortunately we went to celebrate Valentine's Day and we were severely disappointed. The things I listed above about service, were non-existent. I understand that Valentine's is busy, but the atmosphere was giving they were trying to get as many people in an out as possible. We were crammed so close together, we were practically sitting with two other couples. Our steaks were OVERCOOKED, and we would have let our service know, however they didn't come for another 20 minutes after our food came out (no once asked to see if they were cooked to our liking). I feel like I'm being nit picky, but when you spend $250+ on a meal for a fine dining experience, you expect the same quality of service and food regardless of it's an occasion or not. Went to LeMoo this weekend for a bday dinner with reservations made for an expected 17 people... Covid: Upon our arrival, temperatures were taken. Our party ended up with 14 and was split between two tables. In the room we were seated in, all the tables were separated by large stationed plexiglass. The silverware/napkin was presented in plastic bags that also contained hand sanitizing wipes. All wait staff wore masks. There was a $2 charge to everyone's bill labeled as a Covid Safety fee. To pay the bill, you needed to scan the code on the bill and pay via your phone which would then email you a receipt. This was the first place I've been to that had us pay that way due to Covid. The food: We had the crab spinach dip as an appetizer that was served with pita chips. I like crab but don't think I would've even noticed that it was made with crab without the chef or the menu telling us; although, it was a great dip. Probably the best spinach dip I've had. I ordered the scallop dish that was served with asparagus, skillet fried mashed potato cake, and a mushroom cream sauce. Even though I like mushrooms, I wasn't sure how I would like a mushroom sauce with scallops. I'm glad I took a chance with it as the entire dish was delicious. I cleaned my plate. The scallops were very large (4 of them) and seared perfectly. The mushroom sauce was a great addition to everything on the plate. Most of my friends got the filet, some Oscar style and some not, but all were pleased. I had the Oscar style filet upon one visit and honestly thought that without oscar, I wouldn't have been pleased; however, I'm not a huge filet fan to begin with. Large prawns and asparagus were served with the Oscar style filets. I had a taste of the prawn and it was perfect. A friend received an extra side of mushrooms with her dish so a few people shared those, including myself. It was a good size bowl on thinly sliced sautéed mushrooms. They were good but I think I'd suggest the potato cake if choosing a side. One friend ordered the pecan pie cheesecake for all to share. It was served warm and was delicious!! So, I've been to Le Moo twice now. Once for a weekend drag brunch and once for a weekday dinner with teammates from work. Both experiences were pleasant and very different. We can start with the dinner experience: We came on a weekday to a relatively slow and small crowd at the restaurant. Our server was kind, walked us through the drink menu and specials. Our party ended up splitting the seafood appetizer and two of the tenderloin flights (yes - a trio flight of 6 oz steaks! Heaven.) Now, you must be thinking $100 steak flight must have been the highlight of the whole evening but nope - it didn't even come close to touching what could very well be the best dessert I've ever eaten - the Pecan Pie Layered Cheesecake. I mean SWEET HEAVENS - THIS IS DELICIOUS. Layers of vanilla wafers crust, pecan pie filling, and a gorgeous cheesecake topped with salted caramel and roasted pecans. Magnificent perfection (and yes, worth the $14.) Final remarks: Would I come back for dinner? This place is great but out of my comfort zone in price range, so if work is paying for it - absolutely I'll even recommend it. Will I come back and get the cheesecake to go? I already have. TWICE. Highly recommend. And onto drag brunch, you book a reservation ahead of time online for one of the two showings on Saturdays and Sundays. The group often promotes a theme that you can see on their Instagram and shares a booking link. Themes generally come out two weeks to about a month in advance, and the lineup is always stellar. If you can see a show with Umi Naughty as the emcee, I recommend it even more. Once you arrive, you'll let the hostess know you're there for the drag brunch and grab a mimosa or some other nice cocktail at the bar, then as a larger group, they'll escort you through a maze of the restaurant until you arrive in a back theater sitting area. Honestly, the set up is really nice and there isn't a table with a bad view as the performers dance and lip sync all around you but walking there was an adventure. Tip: The waitstaff is ready to go with your one dollar or five-dollar bills to tip the queens, so it's okay to bring larger bills but I would recommend bringing cash. Again, the drag show itself is superb, what isn't as awesome is the brunch buffet that you eat from. It's basically a herded line through a hallway with some options but it feels very mass produced (as it is) and doesn't have the personal touches that you expect from Le Moo's team - so hit or miss here. The waitstaff is also so busy throughout the show (mainly refilling mimosas) that our table was accidentally charged for over 6 drinks more than we ordered and while the mimosas were flowing rapidly at other tables, it was hard to get any other kind of service. So, while they did fix the error eventually, this was something I didn't love to add to the experience. Oh, and that reminds me that you do have to pay for your whole party on one check - so save some time and gameplan ahead. Basically, just think that you're paying for the show first and brunch second. read more

The grit cakes are delicious as well with a unique, fluffy texture (again, in a good way). Good drink and bourbon selection. I recently went to Le Moo for brunch this past weekend and it was very good. Our waiter, Ed, was very friendly and the service was great! The decor is very fun and the menu is too! The menu is large and all items have a unique and creative names. They do take reservations and I definitely recommend this because they are always super busy on the weekends. For a drink, I had an Expresso Martini and it was very good! My friends had Mimosas, they have awesome deals on their Mimosas. For food, I had the Blueberry Waffle with a side of sausage and it was so good, I thought it was odd it had a scoop of ice cream with it but it was a great addition. The sausage it probably the best I've had at a brunch spot! My friends had the You're Bad El Chapo! breakfast burrito and the "Oh Yes, Sea Did" and both said they liked it! Y'all. Le Moo is freakin' awesome. We came here for the Lady Gaga drag brunch and it was an absolute blast!! I was told to book two weeks ahead of time because the drag brunches book like crazy...and they were right! It was an easy process to book online, and then someone from Le Moo called me a few days later to confirm my reservation. The brunch was a flat rate buffet, and this buffet was extravagant. There was even a separate table just for desserts! A lot of typical brunch items were included, and even some unique options like french toast casserole and hot brown casserole (and yes, both were fabulous!) P.S, mimosas were $5. You're welcome. The drag show itself was put on so well. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but I was very impressed with it! They gave everyone about 30 minutes to go through the buffet, order drinks and start eating, and then the show started. The show lasted a little over an hour, and featured some fabulous queens!
