I personally believe that this should be 5 stars because wow. Me and my family come here every weekend and we always get the best service ever, all the servers are so welcoming and friendly and we always come in the earliest of mornings. Their whole menu is so welcoming including calorie counts as so little places do this! Not only that but they always switch up their menu seasonally :)) If you're a big pastry fan definitely hit up this place because they make all their pastries in house (I recommend the almond croissant!!!)

It's not very often that you can say maybe the best I've ever had....but the breakfast sandwich here was maybe the best I've ever had. No joke. Just delicious. Nice little place. Great food! Nice staff!

I had a nice vanilla latte, that was served in a bowl style mug. Pretty cool. These eggs were sooo good! I was nervous it was going to be plain, but boy, was I wrong! The butter & side bread paired perfectly! We went around 10 am, so service was quick and friendly. Definitely worth going back!

Nothing unexpected here. What makes this place a bit nicer than your average Le Pain is the ocean air... get there early, snag a table outside and have your coffee while ALMOST seeing the ocean. You can definitely feel it though. Still not a fan of drinking coffee from an actual bowl - it gets so cold so fast - wish the chain would stop that practice. But service is fast and friendly. And watching this beach town come to life before your eyes is a great way to start the day.

Met a friend here for a late breakfast. It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit at one of their many outdoor tables. They have plenty of large umbrellas so It was was nice to sit in the shade. Although I was tempted to get one of their pastries, we both decided to get healthy options. I had coffee and the organic steel-cut oatmeal with fresh berries and milk while my friend had the oatmeal with honey, walnuts, banana, maple syrup, and milk. In retrospect, I wish I had asked for a little honey for mine! Service was great! They didn't even mind that we sat at the table for a long time -- we had a lot of catching up to do! And while Le Pain Quotidien is not inexpensive, it was a nice place to meet up with an old friend.

Dutch Mini-Pancakes

The friendly host/waitress, Priscilla, greeted us at the host stand quickly. She sat us inside at a table that could accommodate as much as 12 guests. But there are many sizes of table available. The menu opened our minds to a nice variety of eggs, pancakes, croissant and flatbread sandwiches, and meal bowls. Of course the coffee selection was nice. But very pleasant was the fun "dessert-ish" options. We selected from many types of dishes to try as much as we could. We had an omelette, mini Dutch pancakes, and croissant sandwich with small salad along with hot and cold brew coffee. We added the Crookie which is a croissant + cookie flavored with a coffee hazelnut noisella spread. Let me say that EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. I have to emphasize that. No bad choices. The ambiance is neighborhood friendly. It's not library quiet, but civil conversation level. The beach nearby gives it a chill and calm feel. We definitely will keep coming back.

Crookie! What a fantastic combination of you're not counting calories. Do try the passionfruit tart! Not sure why they serve coffee in bowls but it's quite cute. Just gotta get used to not having a handle to hold. All in all, this is a nice cafe.

Almond Croissant

The place had an amazing vibe and the service was top-notch! We started with a delightful almond croissant, followed by a refreshing ice latte, and comforting hot cappuccino. It was a wonderful experience!

Came here for the bread and they are good. Staff are friendly and good service. You can sit outside or inside. Outside you can enjoy the music from performers sometimes. We came on theweekend and its very nice

We love this place! Service is always friendly, food is always good, ambience is calm and quiet. I usually go to the one in Mexico City inside the airport at terminal 2 where they have two locations, one in each side of the gates. I've seen several locations in Mexico (besides the airport), some in New York and in Los Angeles.

Ask the Community - Le Pain Quotidien

Are they still open?

No -- they closed all locations in March, filed Chap 11 BK, and sold all stores for $3m.

What happened to the Chicken Curry Tartine? It was my favorite thing on their menu for lunch.

The menu changes seasonally and this item was removed from the spring menu. It may return as old favorites often reappear.

His espresso martini was so delicious! It was my first time trying one and it did not disappoint. My partner and I had the crispy rice with spicy tuna and the shrimp taquitos, while on the pricier side it is definitely worth it. The spicy tuna crispy rice was so rich in flavor, and the crispy rice truly was crispy. The shrimp taquitos were unlike anything i've tried before! I was expecting some classic taquitos filled with shrimp but this place really goes above and beyond with this dish. The shrimps were wrapped (as you can see in the photo) and it was so good!! I definitely plan on coming back if i'm ever in the area. The ambience of this place is beautiful too, we came during the day but I really want to see how it is at night. I would say this is a great spot for a date night with a partner or friends.

Nick's Manhattan Beach will always hold a special place in our family's heart…read more In August 2025, I made a dinner reservation at Nick's because my parents were visiting from out-of-town and we had some exciting news to announce: we were pregnant with our first baby! :) On the reservation, I noted this, and didn't expect much. The day of the reservation, the host manager called to confirm that we wanted to share the news at dessert, and if there were any other accommodations we needed, which was very sweet. When we arrived at our table, they had a card signed by staff congratulating us, and it was a night to remember. Great food, great service, and the warm hand towels after my dad demolished the baby back ribs were the cherry on top! Our group also ordered the chilean sea bass, salmon, and bistro plate. 10/10. One of our final meals as a family of two was Valentine's Day 2026. It was our first time being seated indoors, and the ambiance was dim and romantic. The meatloaf special was fantastic! Fast forward to June 2026, and we brought our 3-month-old son to his first NIck's meal (unfortunately, he could not partake) and to celebrate my husband's first Father's Day. On this reservation, I put in a request for outdoor seating that gave us enough room to park our stroller and car seat, and they were able to accommodate that. They were also understanding when me and my husband were running a few minutes past our reservation time due to fhe baby, and we appreciated the flexibility. Noise level was moderate, but definitely quieter outside. If you get nothing else from this review, just remember this: ORDER THE WARM BUTTER CAKE. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT. Thanks for the consistent hospitality and great meals, Nick's!

Our server Mark was great and explained the menu and popular dishes. We started off with crab cakes and had the branzino, sea scallops and lam chops for the main course. My daughter had grilled chicken and french fries. BTW, the french fries were delicious! We all enjoyed our meals. My lamb chops were perfectly cooked at medium-rare but a little under seasoned. They brought me a salt and pepper mill to season the chops. I was a little surprised that they were under seasoned. I asked for iced tea refills and they were obliging. The meal was moderately priced but for the ambiance and good quality, it was worth it. The service was spot on with plenty of staff attending to our needs. The most challenging part of our experience was finding parking. There's plenty of metered street parking and limited parking lots near the Manhattan Beach pier.

But no worries, we love leftovers! Food is always so creative and wonderful.at Tin Roof. Although we no longer live in Manhattan, still one if our favorite restaurants. Food and service are stellar! We started with cocktails, and of course prepared by our favorite bartender / cocktail specialist extraordinaire, Clark. Off Your Head (Bloody Mary) and Ophella's White Sangria. Both were very tasty! Tin Roof has an excellent cocktail program as does their Simmzy's locations. We started out with Brussel Sprouts. Definitely a hit with the whole table. Tin Roof definitely has the best around, flavorful with a nice crunch, never soggy! We all ordered a variery of starters for our first course. Several had Ceasar Salads. Several had the Watermelon and Feta Salad. One had the Bloddy Mary Deviled Eggs, and another had the Fig; Pistashio, and Cottage Cheese Toast. Everyone loved what they ordered. We were full before our next courses arrived! Our server was Malcolm. He was very attentive even though it was an extremely busy afternoon since it was Father's Day. He was very helpful explaining some of the options only offered on today's menu. They offered a Bistro Burger (five out of six of us ordered!) and I wanted to know how different this burger was from their Simmzy's Burger (my personal favorite). He was spot on, explained it was smokey in flavor and quite different with the pretzel bun. It was so.good, served with fries (best shoestring fries!), onion rings, and piled so high you had to use a fork and knife to eat it! We left beyond full! Definitely we will be back soon!

Super laid back great spot to grab breakfast with friends and family or even impress that one foodie friend you haven't seen in a while! Now to the food! Fantastic so good prob the best avocado I've ever had ngl I've had some good ones but yeah wasn't overly sweet either had a great balance truly enjoyed this one! I also ordered a Breakfast croissant, well because I'm a foodie, which was absolutely delicious! Super flakey croissant with egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, spicy mayo. Egg and bacon cooked just right all the flavors came together like a perfect bite every time. Even the tomato was red and brought a nice touch to the whole sandwich. The waitress was super busy as she was the only one running the front. She crushes it I've seen bigger restaurants struggle with more staff and less people. Thank you so much for letting change tables mid dinning to sit outside is the sun!!! I don't know, but this place had a big menu and decent reviews so we chose to hit up this spot. The vibes in here were super laid back. There was only one woman who we saw working which was also the hostess and everyone else's server, which was just us and another woman to tables away from us. We had a difficult time choosing something to order since the menu was so diverse. Everything from croffle ice cream, to clam chowder, to a full Thai menu. I saw banh mi on the menu and instantly knew I had to order it since I've never tried it before. So, I ordered the chicken meatball banh mi sandwich with a side salad (removing the jalapeño and spicy mayo). My friend ordered a Thai iced coffee and the pineapple curry. The food came out relatively quickly. My friend enjoyed her Thai iced coffee, but she said she wished she'd ordered the Thai tea instead. She also really liked her pineapple curry, and it came out piping hot. I tried it and it was super spicy, so not for me, but she really enjoyed it. My banh mi sandwich was interesting. Right off the bat, it was 75% bread. The bread wasn't bad. In fact, it was chewy and not tough to tear into, but the sandwich itself was mostly bread. There were only like three meatballs in the sandwich, which were cut in half, and I feel like there wasn't anything special about the meatballs. If I was blindfolded, I would think they were the Great Value frozen meatballs in a bag from Walmart. The pickled cabbage was nice though, even if the mixture made the entire bottom of the sandwich soggy af (but I like soggy bread so it was fine with me). I tore most of the bread off and left it on the plate. The side salad dressing also spilled onto the sandwich and contributed to the soggy bread. Now that I'm looking at the photo I took of the sandwich, there wasn't much cilantro on there at all. The pickled cabbage was at the very bottom buried in between all the bread.
