I personally believe that this should be 5 stars because wow. Me and my family come here every weekend and we always get the best service ever, all the servers are so welcoming and friendly and we always come in the earliest of mornings. Their whole menu is so welcoming including calorie counts as so little places do this! Not only that but they always switch up their menu seasonally :)) If you're a big pastry fan definitely hit up this place because they make all their pastries in house (I recommend the almond croissant!!!)

It's not very often that you can say maybe the best I've ever had....but the breakfast sandwich here was maybe the best I've ever had. No joke. Just delicious. Nice little place. Great food! Nice staff!

I had a nice vanilla latte, that was served in a bowl style mug. Pretty cool. These eggs were sooo good! I was nervous it was going to be plain, but boy, was I wrong! The butter & side bread paired perfectly! We went around 10 am, so service was quick and friendly. Definitely worth going back!

Nothing unexpected here. What makes this place a bit nicer than your average Le Pain is the ocean air... get there early, snag a table outside and have your coffee while ALMOST seeing the ocean. You can definitely feel it though. Still not a fan of drinking coffee from an actual bowl - it gets so cold so fast - wish the chain would stop that practice. But service is fast and friendly. And watching this beach town come to life before your eyes is a great way to start the day.

Met a friend here for a late breakfast. It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit at one of their many outdoor tables. They have plenty of large umbrellas so It was was nice to sit in the shade. Although I was tempted to get one of their pastries, we both decided to get healthy options. I had coffee and the organic steel-cut oatmeal with fresh berries and milk while my friend had the oatmeal with honey, walnuts, banana, maple syrup, and milk. In retrospect, I wish I had asked for a little honey for mine! Service was great! They didn't even mind that we sat at the table for a long time -- we had a lot of catching up to do! And while Le Pain Quotidien is not inexpensive, it was a nice place to meet up with an old friend.

The friendly host/waitress, Priscilla, greeted us at the host stand quickly. She sat us inside at a table that could accommodate as much as 12 guests. But there are many sizes of table available. The menu opened our minds to a nice variety of eggs, pancakes, croissant and flatbread sandwiches, and meal bowls. Of course the coffee selection was nice. But very pleasant was the fun "dessert-ish" options. We selected from many types of dishes to try as much as we could. We had an omelette, mini Dutch pancakes, and croissant sandwich with small salad along with hot and cold brew coffee. We added the Crookie which is a croissant + cookie flavored with a coffee hazelnut noisella spread. Let me say that EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. I have to emphasize that. No bad choices. The ambiance is neighborhood friendly. It's not library quiet, but civil conversation level. The beach nearby gives it a chill and calm feel. We definitely will keep coming back.

Crookie! What a fantastic combination of you're not counting calories. Do try the passionfruit tart! Not sure why they serve coffee in bowls but it's quite cute. Just gotta get used to not having a handle to hold. All in all, this is a nice cafe.

The place had an amazing vibe and the service was top-notch! We started with a delightful almond croissant, followed by a refreshing ice latte, and comforting hot cappuccino. It was a wonderful experience!

We love this place! Service is always friendly, food is always good, ambience is calm and quiet. I usually go to the one in Mexico City inside the airport at terminal 2 where they have two locations, one in each side of the gates. I've seen several locations in Mexico (besides the airport), some in New York and in Los Angeles.

    Are they still open?

No -- they closed all locations in March, filed Chap 11 BK, and sold all stores for $3m.

What happened to the Chicken Curry Tartine? It was my favorite thing on their menu for lunch.

The menu changes seasonally and this item was removed from the spring menu. It may return as old favorites often reappear.

His espresso martini was so delicious! It was my first time trying one and it did not disappoint. My partner and I had the crispy rice with spicy tuna and the shrimp taquitos, while on the pricier side it is definitely worth it. The spicy tuna crispy rice was so rich in flavor, and the crispy rice truly was crispy. The shrimp taquitos were unlike anything i've tried before! I was expecting some classic taquitos filled with shrimp but this place really goes above and beyond with this dish. The shrimps were wrapped (as you can see in the photo) and it was so good!! I definitely plan on coming back if i'm ever in the area. The ambience of this place is beautiful too, we came during the day but I really want to see how it is at night. I would say this is a great spot for a date night with a partner or friends.

The day of the reservation, the host manager called to confirm that we wanted to share the news at dessert, and if there were any other accommodations we needed, which was very sweet. When we arrived at our table, they had a card signed by staff congratulating us, and it was a night to remember. Great food, great service, and the warm hand towels after my dad demolished the baby back ribs were the cherry on top! Our group also ordered the chilean sea bass, salmon, and bistro plate. 10/10. One of our final meals as a family of two was Valentine's Day 2026. It was our first time being seated indoors, and the ambiance was dim and romantic. The meatloaf special was fantastic! Fast forward to June 2026, and we brought our 3-month-old son to his first NIck's meal (unfortunately, he could not partake) and to celebrate my husband's first Father's Day. On this reservation, I put in a request for outdoor seating that gave us enough room to park our stroller and car seat, and they were able to accommodate that. They were also understanding when me and my husband were running a few minutes past our reservation time due to fhe baby, and we appreciated the flexibility. Noise level was moderate, but definitely quieter outside. If you get nothing else from this review, just remember this: ORDER THE WARM BUTTER CAKE. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT. Thanks for the consistent hospitality and great meals, Nick's!

After eating so many heavy meals two times a day for 4 days, wanted/needed something lighter. It looked like it was one full avocado on two slices of hearty toast with green goddess dressing. Had 2 poached eggs (perfect), 2 slices of crips bacon (also perfectly crisp) and a side of fruit - this had the same as the yogurt plate but also had figs and plums!. The french omelette is traditional, delicate, simple and delicious. The side salad is quintessential French - greens with a light dressing. It also had the same side of fruit. The Strand House offers good food, goodservice, and amazing views and vibes at reasonable, but upscale prices. We came with my family for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon. Off the lunch menu we had the Italian panini ($29), which was a surprisingly complex sandwich with mortadella, salami, onions, lettuce, fresh Marzano tomatoes, and many other vegetables. It was served with an exceptional set of fries, which had a great amount of garlic and the perfect blend of crisp on the outside and softness on the inside, along with tangy ketchup. The children got the pasta bolognese ($14), which was a standard bolognese, although the pasta was a little overcooked. We also got a child salmon ($21), a surprisingly generous piece of fish, well cooked with a somewhat crispy exterior and soft interior alongside broccolini and whipped mashed potatoes. The service was decent - our server collected our order, checked on us appropriately, and generally took care of us throughout our visit. As the pictures suggest, the interior is quite upscale, scattered across three floors with a view overlooking the main road and the beach itself. This led to an excellent, breezy atmosphere and spectacular views, perfect for a hot day. Prices are a little on the elevated side, but not excessive, given the highly popular location of this restaurant and excellent views. Overall, The Strand House offers an appropriately upscale lunch or dinner at an elevated price for the discerning customer looking for good food and excellent views with a price to match. I don't know, but this place had a big menu and decent reviews so we chose to hit up this spot. The vibes in here were super laid back. There was only one woman who we saw working which was also the hostess and everyone else's server, which was just us and another woman to tables away from us. We had a difficult time choosing something to order since the menu was so diverse. Everything from croffle ice cream, to clam chowder, to a full Thai menu. I saw banh mi on the menu and instantly knew I had to order it since I've never tried it before. So, I ordered the chicken meatball banh mi sandwich with a side salad (removing the jalapeño and spicy mayo). My friend ordered a Thai iced coffee and the pineapple curry. The food came out relatively quickly. My friend enjoyed her Thai iced coffee, but she said she wished she'd ordered the Thai tea instead. She also really liked her pineapple curry, and it came out piping hot. I tried it and it was super spicy, so not for me, but she really enjoyed it. My banh mi sandwich was interesting. Right off the bat, it was 75% bread. The bread wasn't bad. In fact, it was chewy and not tough to tear into, but the sandwich itself was mostly bread. There were only like three meatballs in the sandwich, which were cut in half, and I feel like there wasn't anything special about the meatballs. If I was blindfolded, I would think they were the Great Value frozen meatballs in a bag from Walmart. The pickled cabbage was nice though, even if the mixture made the entire bottom of the sandwich soggy af (but I like soggy bread so it was fine with me). I tore most of the bread off and left it on the plate. The side salad dressing also spilled onto the sandwich and contributed to the soggy bread. Now that I'm looking at the photo I took of the sandwich, there wasn't much cilantro on there at all. The pickled cabbage was at the very bottom buried in between all the bread.
