Loved the vibe and ambiance of this restaurant! Went with a large group of friends to celebrate a birthday, and we were split up between 2 tables because they have booth style seating. It worked out well! Alain Jeu, one of the owners, greeted us and led us to our table, which I found to be so charming and really gives you the immediate feeling that the owners really care about their restaurant and customers. It's a rare treat! My friends and I all ordered different things so we could try several plates, and EVERYTHING was delicious! For appetizers we tried the pate, escargot (my fave), and steak tartare-- all a delight. For entrees, we had the Trout Maison, Crab Cake Meuniere, Cote de Porc Charcuterie, Gnocchi à la Parisienne, and Canard a l'Orange. Truly everything was delicious! Date night dinner at LePariesan. A lovely evening. Le Pariesien is a Mid-Town restaurant located in the space formarly occupaied by Cafe Do Brazil. They have done a nice job with the renovation. It's a warm comfortable venue with spacious seating so that the tables are not on top of each other. The vibe is energetic with quite ellengence. Even with all of the tables occupied the restrauant was quite. Outside seating is available but it's on the west side of the building and at 6:30 p.m. when we arrived it was too hot to consider as an option. When we left the sun had lowered and it was very pleasant outside. With the help of restrauant co-owner, Alain Jeu, operating partner and sommelier, we selected a bottle of French wine. Their wine list is exclusive French and my knowledge of French wine is zero. We selected a bottle of Cote de Nutis Villages Pinot Noir. It was light, dry and smooth. We each ordered soup as a starter. I ordered the French Onion and Jan ordered the Gazpacho. Both were excellent! For mains I ordered pei muscles cooked in garlic, white wine, herbs, creme frachie, and whole grain Dijon, served with a slice of toasted sour dough bread. I enjoyed the muscles. Jan ordered the Trout Maison. It was pan seared, served on a bed of rice and toped with chervil creme sauce. It was very good. We normally don't do desert but made an exception. I ordered Paris Brest, a Choux Pastry with hazelnut pralines. It was good and I enjoyed it. It was different from anything I've ever experienced for desert. Jan ordered Peach Melba which is pouched peaches, raspberry coulis, vanilla ice cream and toasted almonds. She liked it a lot. I took a taste and its not my cup of tea. A need in Midtown! This location is a sweet spot and I love that they offer free parking! Since it was our first visit, we tried a handful of options on the menu including the tomato salad, the crab cake, French fries, and the stuffed lobster (omg yum). We were pleased with everything, the tomato salad was super refreshing and the lobster was like nothing we've tried before. The crab cake was more comparable to a meat patty but the sauce that it came in was superb. The mocktail I tried was yummy but very sweet. Ambiance and service were GREAT! Our waiter made awesome recommendations and was very attentive to our needs. I'm giving my experience a 4-star due to the AC not being functional and no one addressing it. It was sticky and hot in there and the waiters were sweaty, obviously working hard in the heat. Despite this, I'll be happy to go back. read more

Sweet French restaurant in a great part of town. We tried to make a reservation ahead of time via Resy, but it wouldn't confirm my reservation, however I saw that there were openings and they were gladly able to accommodate us. We had the sweetest server who worked with us and was very polite through the whole dinner service. Below are my opinions on the dishes that we tried. -Crab cakes- sauce was good. Cake itself was slippery/different texture than I've had in a crabcake -Escargot was good. You do have to take them out of the shell yourself, but it's very easy. -Gnocchi- light and fluffy. We had reservations for Wednesday evening. The restaurant seems quite popular, as it was busy during dinner service. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and seated immediately in a comfortable booth. Our server was attentive, though very serious -- perhaps leaning into the French ambiance. For dinner, my friend and I both ordered the trout maison. It was okay -- simply a piece of trout served over some rice. The sauce was a bit unusual for my taste. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly memorable either, and my friend felt the same. My husband ordered the pork chop and absolutely loved it. My friend's husband had the burger and fries, which he said were decent, though not outstanding. We also shared several starters: the crab cake, escargots, and French onion soup. My husband really enjoyed the soup (I didn't try it, as I'm not a fan of onions). The crab cake and escargots were good, but again, nothing that stood out. For dessert, we ordered the mille-feuille and the Valrhona chocolate mousse. Unfortunately, both desserts were disappointing. The chocolate mousse had a slightly gritty texture rather than being smooth and silky, and the mille-feuille just wasn't to our taste. This place was recommended to us, so we tried it out. First, the positive. This place is really cute and it really feels like you have stepped into a French restaurant in Paris. Also, the baguette was really good. Now, the negatives. We were not impressed with the food, the service or the prices. We were told to order the crab cake, which we did, and we were not impressed. I ordered the burger, which the highlight was the bun because the bread was so good. My partner had the duck and he said it was all right. For starters, we ordered the baguette and they only gave us one butter, which clearly was not enough for two people so we ordered another two butters and when we got the check, they had charged us $6 for them. Now, I know food costs are extremely high, considering the time we live in, but if there is an up charge, the customer should know about it beforehand or it should be noted somewhere on the menu, which clearly it was not. Our waiter was the bartender and not once did he come to check on us or refill our drinks, the place was not busy, so that was kind of sad. Came on opening night, and while there were a few hiccups (some items never came out, and our food took about an hour), the overall experience was still enjoyable. The space is beautiful with a charming French-café vibe, and our server was sweet. The restaurant was loud, so it was hard to hear the conversations at times. Cocktails were well-made. I started with the French onion soup--pretty pricey and not something I'd order again. It was mostly Swiss cheese with very little broth. The French baguette with butter was unfortunately stale. I originally wanted the trout maison, but they were out and offered salmon instead, so I switched to the poulet rôti. That ended up being a great choice--the chicken was crispy and flavorful, herbal, and perfectly balanced. It would've been amazing to see duck or even crêpes on the menu. I also had a bite of my partner's burger and fries. The burger was unique and is on the sweeter side, but the fries were the real standout--the oil they use makes a huge difference. Started off with the Kir Royale cocktail, which was great and refreshing. My table got the baguette and bread and the escargot for our appetizers. The escargot was very flavorful and buttery. My entree was the moules frites. There were so many mussels in the pot and the broth was nice. I had one mussel that did not taste right at all. The fries that came with it were soggy. I wish they would've served a baguette instead of the piece of bread with the mussels because that bread just got soggy when I tried to dip into the broth. Service was warm and welcoming. Escargot - Garlic herb butter, Harvey's Bakery Baguette ($20) The escargot was absolutely delightful. The right notes of butter, garlic, and herbs gave way to soft, succulent snails, finished with a subtle, surprising hint of nutmeg on the back end--an unmistakable nod to classic French technique. Harvey's baguette proved the perfect vessel for soaking up every last drop of butter. The opening course confidently set the tone for what was to follow. Crab & Leeks - The crab cake, bound with shrimp mousseline, reads more like a French galette than a traditional American cake. A well-caramelized top heightens the natural sweetness of both crab and shrimp, providing contrast to the soft, custard-like interior. The sherry vinaigrette is abundant, and its base seems to be crème fraîche which brings a pronounced sour edge; when used sparingly, the acidity rounds out the bite, but in excess it can easily overpower the delicate shellfish. French Onion Soup - caramelized onion, country toast, comté gratiné ($19) The French onion soup is crowned with a generous, bubbling layer of rich, nutty Comté. The broth was delicate yet familiar, carrying deep onion and stock flavor without becoming heavy. Chunks of bread, both soft and slightly firm, soaked up the savory liquid beautifully. The reduction of Chablis, butter, and cream moves across the palate with precision, giving way to deeply savory mushrooms and a surprising, perfectly judged note of tarragon on the finish. It is absolute perfection on a spoon. The gnocchi themselves resemble small pearls of pommes dauphine heaven, offering a delicate, almost caviar-like pop with each bite. Rich, decadent, and devilishly delicious, this is the kind of dish that defines a kitchen's capability. Canard à l'Orange - brioche brown butter, roots purée, frisée ($32) The final entrée was Canard à l'orange, described to me as cooked confit. It arrived topped with a large heap of greens dressed in vinaigrette, resting over the duck and finished with a notably sweet orange sauce. The combination of the tangy greens and the sweetness of the sauce created a dominant, lingering note at the back of the throat. The duck itself was tough and chewy, with the knife struggling to cut through the thigh. The root purée, was silky and beautifully balanced. Bread Pudding -- Apples, Spice, Ice Cream ($13 + $3 Ice Cream) Bread pudding was a surprising choice, especially with soufflé and mousse on the menu. Given its English origins, it felt out of place in a restaurant positioning itself around classic French tradition.The top featured nicely caramelized edges, giving way to soft, custard-soaked bread in the center. Notes of apple and cinnamon carried through each bite, with buttery caramel drizzled over the top. The ice cream was somewhat bland, though it did contribute added richness and a welcome temperature contrast that rounded out the dish. It was an average bread pudding. Mille-Feuille -- Puff Pastry & Crème Pâtissière ($13) The mille-feuille was classically structured, with a satisfying crunch from the puff pastry and a very thick layer of pastry cream in the center. Stunned is an understatement. Our experience here was wonderful! We started with the leeks, a great light option and full of delicious vinaigrette flavor. I had the salmon(they were out of trout) and my boyfriend had the steak. Both were superb. My boyfriend said his steak was the best he EVER had. I don't eat red meat so I'll take his word for it! Service was fast and attentive. The atmosphere was my favorite part of the restaurant. There are outside tables fully equipped with ash trays, of course. My daughter treated me to a late Mother's Day celebration at Le Parisien on Friday. The first pleasant surprise was the complimentary match boxes at the hostess podium. I was already excited. The staff was very professional & quietly kind. We were greeted by the owner while we waited in the lounge, and he apologized for our wait. LaLa served us and she was spectacular While the menu is a little pricey, I can highly recommend the crab cake. It was delicate and delicious with less breading and more crab. The sauce was divine! My daughter had the trout which she also enjoyed, again the sauce was the star of the dish. I had a kir royale and the lowest price white wine. The wine was refreshingly light. We shared a chocolate mousse for dessert. Lastly, the restaurant was recently renovated from a popular Latin American restaurant to this cozy and romantic French restaurant. OKC needed this option for adult dining! I certainly will revisit. read more

I wanted to love this place but unfortunately the food was just ok and the service/attitude was unkind and off putting. This is not a place for larger groups. 2-4 people maximum if you decide to go. The server, Lala, does not write anything down, which to her credit she didn't get anything wrong, but because there were 13 of us it made us very nervous and we didn't get to order as planned. We would have like to order all at once and had her course the meal for us so we could enjoy our time together but didn't at her suggestion. So when you try it be prepared to be there a while and take your time and order as you go. There is only one server for the whole restaurant which isn't big but things took a long time. It was not a relaxing experience. I'm a sommelier and was very excited to try the wine but it all truly tasted the same. I was very surprised. From Beaujolais to Bordeaux to gigondas. We ordered a few different bottles mid range and expensive. Again underwhelming. Crab cake has odd texture and steak tartare was heavy on the mayo/fillers and not meaty. Apparently you must try the burger over anything there because "chef" thinks it so good he is unwilling to make any modifications to it. I understand if you have a beautifully crafted dish and want people to try it as is, but this is a burger and it was a dietary request. It was requested the beef patty itself be replaced with avocado for a vegetarian. The server explained Chef would not do it because there are meat components in some of the sauces on the burger. The guest explained that she was flexible in her vegetarian diet and she would be fine with the sauces, but the Chef would still not accommodate her. It's not a michelin star restaurant so I didn't get it. This is not a place that caters to the guest in service. Drinks took forever which is the only reason I recommend getting a bottle. Also the server instructed us on how to taste the wine "because you ordered you will taste". She definitely had no idea that we dine out as much as we do and have a high level of experience with food and beverage. It felt pretentious instead of being a normal wine presentation. Mushrooms and pork chop were very good. We moved here from Los Angeles and have had better experiences in other places in OKC. We spent money and tipped 20%. We arrived last night for our reservation (party of 7) for my birthday. Some of us drove about 1.5 hours to OKC for this specific restaurant. We get inside the front door and people walk by, and do not greet us or say anything. So, we wait. Finally, the hostess shows up. She apologizes for our wait and shows us to our table. The waitress comes by our table after we have had a minute to look at the menu. We ask about a few things on the menu and she informs us that two things are not available to us. The two menu items I desired to order for my birthday meal. She doesn't smile or act like she cares that we are even there. It was as if were annoying her. I told her it was my birthday and had been looking forward to a charcuterie board and lobster for an entree. She repeated herself and said "we are sold out". This is a Wednesday evening. I then asked her to talk to the chef for us and see what he might be able to do or offer us instead. She came back with the same answer. It makes no sense. I can throw a charcuterie board together in about 20 minutes with various things. Frankly, he should have visited our table to chat with us. We wanted him to at least try. Frankly, with the waitress' apathy and a Chef who couldn't be bothered, we got up and walked out. I have expectations of great service and excellent food. This place displayed neither of those. We had a reservation for 6 and traffic was tee getting up to the city so I called and the owner of the restaurant answered the phone telling us to take our time. We got there at 6:02 and were seated in the bar area. A cute booth for two with a cozy intimate date night vibe. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful and it doesn't feel like you are in Oklahoma City. Our waiter was also one of the bartenders and he did a wonderful job taking care of us. We started with the escargot and just wow. The butter, the favor, the side hot baguette was just perfect. We then got our mains (the French dip is a bar exclusive so I don't think you can get it in the dining room). We tried the French dip first and O MY GOD it was amazing literally just melts in your mouth. I wanted to try the crab cake because I have heard mixed reviews. As a Maryland girl, I know what a good crab cake tastes like. Now this crab cake is very different from the ones I am used to but I don't care because it was AMAZING the flavor and the brown butter was perfection. I am three cosmopolitans in at this point so I told our waiter to bring over his favorite dessert and I was a hazelnut pastry and it was so light and clean after a heavy meal. I will also will note the owner talked with us for a while educating us about himself and the food prepared which was honestly so special. Friend and I had been wanting to try this place for 6 months and finally got an opportunity. We were seated timely, perused the menu, ordered drinks and dinner. Once our food was served our waitperson seemed to work everyone in her station, except us. We had to flag her down for another round of drinks, ice tea refills. Before we were even done with dinner, she walks by our table to drop off the bill and scurried away. We really wanted another glass of wine and dessert. About that time the owner cruised by and I did stop him to convey our disappointing experience. He did ask how the food/service was. We told him our feelings on the food(OK) and subpar service we just experienced. A friend and I went to Le Parisien for dinner and had a wonderful experience. To start off, we had the sweetest server named Charlotte who went above and beyond for our table. She gave wonderful recommendations that ended up giving us a meal to die for! The ambience of the entire restaurant is very welcoming and a total breath of fresh air for this area. Went right after grand opening tried many items. Returned on a few other occasions. The first time the French Onion Soup was right on point. Bragged to wife so we went again. Inquired how she liked she said not really. Next time I went got FO soup, quite disappointing from the initial time. Enjoyed the presentation and superb flavor of the Escargot, however the snails were quite small. The Lobster Thermidor was quite dry, WHAT!! This should be a saucy rich cheesy dish and the lobster portion was quite small as well. The Bibb salad had no Bibb lettuce, not as advertised! I always conversed with the owner and the last time I expressed my concerns and asked if they changed chefs ? He said thanks and that was it didn't offer any recompense. Table service was lacking as well. I've spoken with other restaurant owners who went there and they were disappointed as well. So sad as OKC deserves an excellent truly French Restaurant but this ain't it !! I'll give it one more try in the future in hopes of getting the kinks worked out. read more
