My husband and I went to Le Jardinier for my birthday dinner this year. Located inside of the Museum of Fine Arts, it's quite a romantic and darkly lit restaurant and what sounds like electronic music playing in the background. We were greeted with smiles and congratulations for the year, which was a nice touch. I was also gifted a celebration cake (a bright and acidic gelee on top of a delicious creamy vanilla custard and delicious fruity cake in the center). The staff were courteous and attentive, never allowing my water glass to fall below half. Highlights of the meal were the pommes dauphine (which tasted just like traditional pao de quiejo; my husband's favorite bite of the night), the Gruyère rolls in the complimentary bread basket, and the beautifully seasoned and cooked wagyu. I'm not sure if it's because of how huge the reputation is for this restaurant is, but it did leave me wanting a bit more, so I can't give it 5/5 stars. Overall, it was a great way to end my birthday.

A phenomenal dining experience full of clinking glasses over beautiful plates that surrendered our palate to an array of culinary art. We opted for the chef's seasonal menu paired with seasonal wine tastings to complement our 5-course meal. We were fully received with love and enthusiasm as we arrived with the intent of celebrating our engagement. Not only was love prepared for us from kitchen to table, but also radiated throughout the evening with every eagerly friendly exchange from l'équipe Le Jardinier! We felt lucky to have experienced a special moment in our lives at Le Jardinier and hope to return to sample another seasonal chapter soon!

Terrible service. Most of the food was good. But this did not seem Michelin starred. For example, we sat with dirty plates for much too long. We ordered coffee at the end. One decaf and one regular cappuccino. We got americano. We asked again. No apology and then brought full caffeine ones. Still wrong. No apology. Servers were disengaged, and it did impair the experience. Not what expected for a $800+ dinner.

I had a great experience at le jardinier. Everything was great. The food was good, the ambiance was great, and the service was impeccable. We had a reservation for a weekday evening. The restaurant was pretty busy when we arrived. Parking was plentiful in the parking garage & our parking was validated by the restaurant too. The ambiance was really great. Lots of art around & a pleasant vibe. The restaurant felt upscale and chic. Service was really great- from the hostess to our waiter - we were well taken care of. The food was really delicious. We got the fall tasting course. Everything had a nice unique flavor and pushed boundaries. I also thought the plating was really great. Personally - I thought the kampachi has such a bold flavor & the wild mushrooms were the most "autumn" feeling. I really liked the Wagyu strip as well. And the crème brûlée was so delicious!! Overall, great experience

Came in for the art lovers lunch, and definitely have to give perks for the artistry on the plate. The burrata was great, both visually and taste wise, with the different sauces all hitting different notes. I ran into problems with the Seabass though. I thought the fish was too aggressively seasoned. By itself, it was only slightly noticeable, but eating it with the sauce, the saltines became very apparent. Maybe this is what I get for ordering the cheapest thing on the menu, but for a Michelin star, I expected closer attention to detail.

We had a lovely experience at Le Jardinier -- Michelin- one starred restaurant -- and the space felt elegant and refined, with service that matched the atmosphere. My favorite dish of the night was the tea-spiced duck -- beautifully cooked, aromatic, and full of depth. The most disappointing dish was the lobster vol-au-vent. The flavors were nice, but the pastry was quite soggy. The desserts, on the other hand, were a highlight -- visually stunning and delicious, especially the birthday dessert, which was thoughtful and beautifully presented. The bread basket was also surprisingly good. We also stopped by the museum's Café Leonelli earlier, and learned it's actually the sister café to Le Jardinier, run by the same hospitality group. Their desserts were excellent as well, which makes sense given the shared culinary team -- beautifully made and surprisingly refined for a museum café. Overall, a sophisticated dining experience with some standout dishes and gorgeous presentation. Four stars. I suggest arriving early to check out the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH). Le Jardinier is located specifically in the Nancy and Rich Kinder Building, which is part of MFAH.

Beautiful restaurant. Delicious food. Good drinks. Great service. Each plate is a beautiful work of art but don't expect to be full by the end of the meal.

This was one experience the girls and I were anxiously awaiting for a few weeks - we were so excited! Highly recommend a reservation as Le Jardinier is only open from 11:30AM to 2PM. When you arrive, you will see a parking garage or valet ($15) option. We opted for valet this day; I gave them my phone number and you could pay and request your car through the link they texted you - very convenient. Walking in, it is beautiful and makes me want to come back for another trip to the museum. Across the way, you see the restaurant entrance and the hostess is there to greet you. She was so friendly and helpful! The restaurant itself is decorated beautifully with green velvet seats and booths, and a colorful tapestry hanging on the wall near the entrance. It is not a large restaurant (hence the reservation recommendation). The entire far wall is glass, with great views of several sculptures - truly beautiful. The service was excellent throughout. Our group opted for the summer tasting menu; a 4 course meal that allows you to taste several things on the menu. It is a fixed menu and everyone at the table must order it. We started with deviled eggs and a small juice (palate cleanser), whipped burrata (my favorite!), eggs on eggs (caviar and eggs with toast), filet minon, and the peach tart. I really enjoyed the cappuccino with dessert too. Make this your next celebration meal and you won't regret it!

With Houston Restaurant Week coming to a close, I decided to treat myself--and I'm so glad I did. A last-minute opening at Le Jardinier turned into an unforgettable experience that already has me planning my return. Nestled in the heart of Houston's Museum District, this Michelin-starred gem effortlessly transports you to a different world. The interior strikes a perfect balance between sleek modernity and natural warmth, with earthy green and brown tones that give the space a refined yet welcoming feel. I opted for the three-course tasting menu and chose the burrata, chicken, and crémeux. The burrata was fresh and light--brightened by a vibrant medley of fruit that felt like summer on a plate. The chicken was cooked to perfection, elevated by layered flavors, tender green beans, and just the right kick from the chili oil's subtle crunch. But the star of the evening? The crémeux. Rich, decadent, and beautifully balanced with sea salt, chocolate, ice cream, and a light, airy texture--it's reason enough to come back on its own. Service was impeccable. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and every detail was handled with care--a true reflection of their Michelin recognition. Can't wait to return for another unforgettable meal

Had an amazing dinner here with my boyfriend! The interior is elegant and romantic - we were so lucky to be seated in a comfortable, spacious booth where we were looking out into the sculpture garden. The big glass windows and the massive tapestry are a beautifuk touch to the interior, as well as the suede sage green seating. We came here during Houston Restaurant Week: I got the Corn Veloute, Chicken, and Dark Chocolate Cremeux. I wasn't too big of a fan of the corn, but the chicken and the dark chocolate dessert were excellent! My boyfriend got the Risotto which was my personal favorite of the night. I'd highly recommend pairing the chicken with the risotto. Outside of what you order, we were served a warm bread basket, an amuse bouche juice, and a closer of a small piece of pound cake. My boyfriend ordered a small glass of the Bastor Lamontagne - a sweet dessert wine. The sommelier came by and let him taste it before pouring his glass. The wine itself was delicious! The service here is top notch - they put everyone's plate down at the same time and give a quick overview of the dish. They are attentive and a manager even struck up some conversation with my boyfriend while I was out at the restroom. True hospitality and warmth. Park in the MFA garage (enter off of Montrose, garage goes down) and access the restaurant by walking through the tunnel and going up to the 1st floor. They validate parking!

We were here for lunch and food was very good. Service can surely be better. We had to wait one of the entree for our tables of 4 so my chicken got cold and I personally don't like my food to be cold. I was surprised to see this happened to a Michelin star restaurant. Of course no excuses from anyone. They decide to take off $10 appetizer from our bill without any explanation neither. It's a good gesture from them but for a restaurant of this scale this shouldn't even happen at all. Again the servers uniforms quite bothering me with a black jeans and the wrinkle top. It doesn't look appropriate with the type of restaurant that required guests attire. It's just my own opinion.

Attentive, team service was exceptional. But the food steaks the show. Flavorful, moist chicken on polenta; perfectly crisp skin branzino with flavorful fish, great cocktails and wine pairing. We enjoyed every bite and look forward to coming again.

Wonderful dining experience! They offer a dog friendly outdoor patio, which is rare to find at a Michelin-starred restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere. This has quickly become our new favorite French restaurant in Houston.

Ask the Community - Le Jardinier

Is there direct access to the outdoor dining patio without entering inside the restaurant?

Outdoor section is part of the sculpture garden and I think you can get there without going through the main restaurant ...but you'd still pass by the check-in

Does anyone know if they have the tasting menu for lunch?

You can get to the outdoor seating without entering the main restaurant. However, you would need to enter the foyer to check in

If one person at the table wants the tasting menu does everyone have to get it?

Usually, yes, but I have friends who were able to split the table where one got it and the other didn't. So it's not impossible. I would call to double check.

    Where do I park?

You can park in the parking garage of the museum.

Is there a difference between lounge dining and dining room dining other than location?

Lounge dining is a row of tables near the bar area. Dining room dining is in the actual dining room part.

    Any ideas on dress code?

Considering the recent shutter of other places (#2) within the hospitality umbrella, it's not too big of a surprise that Wooster's would also be in the crosshairs. The space was always a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, which combined with its dedicated parking lot made this an easy drinking outlet for all kinds of occasions. The intimate indoor space was lovely and well ventilated, and it felt like there wasn't ever a moment where the bar wasn't slammed. The outdoor space was much of the same, with lots of tables and chairs, and even the trendy swing chairs facing the city. The only thing that was a little bit of a liability were those open flame heaters; it would only take on person to accidentally walk into one or trip onto it. For libations, the drinks were well priced, well made, and always potent. I appreciated the aesthetics, as well as the bartenders who made them. The only part that wasn't exciting was the limited food menu, which did its part as munchies for the drink heavy crowd, but was mediocre otherwise. The space is already undergoing the new facelift of a separate concept, one of which I hope will do the area justice, just as much as Wooster's did. ____________ (#1) The Kirby Group. (#2) R.I.P. It looks like the drink that I ordered is also no longer on the menu. The bar prides itself on having a rotating meal changing menu so I think that's a lot of fun when it comes to trying new drinks and new combinations and it truly shows the artistry of the bartender. There was the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior was more of a dimmer, elegant and darker tone. I can see it being pretty classic if you were to go at night time. The bar set up was really beautiful and they had different 2 to 4 seating wooden tables. Overall, the inside would probably only fit around 20 people. I was very sad because we couldn't sit outside. The day before it had rained so every outdoor seating was wet. But I was told that they had a beautiful seating outside with a garden and a pool. Service was good. The bartender came out of the bar to take orders, give menus and give you the check. I will say that it got really busy at the end and it took a while to get our check. There's only one or two bartenders working at one time so if there's multiple people with different drinks that are ordered, it will take a little bit longer. Service (3/5): While we had a waitress, she was slow to greet us and slow to check up on us. It's a small bar and there isn't a ton of seating so it's not like she was overwhelmed. For a fancy hotel, you expect better. Maybe sitting at the bar is better than sitting at some seats as we did. Ambiance (4/5): The Colombe d'Or is a beautiful hotel and Bar No. 3 reflects that. It's an elegant spot to grab a drink, although small. Food (N/A): While there are expensive items on the menu, I had dinner earlier that night so I was on a liquid diet.
