Le Petit Parisien is an adorable little French bakery we came across right after we arrived in the city. We were pretty hungry and were hoping to find a bakery. This place has such cute decor, the walls are covered in custom wallpaper that look like French newspapers titled 'Le Petit Parisien'. Each table has a little bamboo plant on it. Their display of delicious looking croissants, baguettes and other goodies had me a bit overwhelmed with what to select. I selected the Baguettini with arugula, goat cheese and tomato. I also got their iced lavender latte. The Baguettini was very small, it was unfortunately a bit dry. The bread itself was very fresh, crunchy, and so, so tasty! It's too bad the sandwich was a disappointment. The latte was very strong, creamy and perfectly flavored. It was just what I needed after a long car ride. I also got a Lemon Tart for my friend and I to share. This was so tasty! It was very small, with a substantial amount of zesty lemon filing. I don't think I've ever tasted something more accurate to lemon than this Lemon Tart. The crust was soft and the filling was softer. This was an okay lunch, but an excellent coffee and a great dessert. read more

Stopped in here for breakfast on my way to an appointment. I had a vanilla latte that was to die for! So perfectly made! I also had a brioche ham, egg and cheese which was delicious! The brioche bun tasted like it just came from the oven! The service was friendly and took the time to make my latte perfect. I was looking for a place to sit and have a quiet cup of coffee but the first 3 places I went to had no available tables. Someone suggested I try Le petit Parisien and I am so glad he did! It is a charming little place on a side street, easy to miss (yay, not crowded and my choice of tables!), and what a lovely selection! I had a vegan spinach pie which was delicious, and an excellent cappuccino with oat milk. Excellent service, very Parisian atmosphere, fairly quiet.... and the amazing dessert choices include vegan macaroons, which are close to impossible to find! Food: eggs were cold (it wasn't busy/crowded - no excuse) Service: self service. We tried to fix the wobbly table but spilled the coffee. Oh and they gave us black coffee but then they gave us a paper cup of half and half, as we had ordered). Ambience: we returned the cold eggs, but they didn't heat them up for us or return them to us. I guess that's because the woman who had taken our order had decided to take her break for lunch, and she took her salad and coffee and went and sat down at a table asking if she could share it with a customer. Delicious warm croissants. I had an almond croissant. They are a serious competition to Miss Madeline not too far from here. I split a Croque monsieur from brunch menu with bae. It was delicious, perfect, comes with a side salad. Ordered a cappuccino- it was meh and not worth the almost $6. Will get a drip coffee based drink next time. They have an ongoing promotion- free cream puff dusted with cinnamon with any coffee you order and it's delicious and warm. Plenty of seating but still cozy. I was truly surprised to discover just how superb their Louis XIV sandwich was, an extraordinarily decadent event made with fresh and very yummy foie gras and fig confit on a delicious baguette. I took a gamble in shelling out $35 for such a sandwich, which I shared with my Mom, but we were both pleasantly surprised to find that it's definitely worth the price... if you go for that kind of thing. The first time I ate here when it opened, the sandwich and pastries were extremely good. Fresh and high quality ingredients. Some of the best food in this neighborhood. The next few times, the the food was always stale and not even close to being fresh. On top of that, they don't put even half the ingredients they claim to in the menu. They will charge you extra for additions and then they don't even add it to a dish. A few of the salads even gave me stomach aches... We love this cafe that recently opened up on the UES. Some of their desserts are flown in from France and it's delicious. Love the strawberry chocolate cake and the ferrara cake. Both light and sweet but not crazy sweet. The macarons are great here as well. We love that the sandwiches are made fresh. We liked the Marie Antoinette and duck rillette. It's such a cozy place to come to work (plenty of tables), read a book (comfy couch setting), or eat their wonderful variety of pastries, sandwiches, to die for spinach puffs and their amazing coffees. The ambiance is amazing. Place is so well lit and beautifully decorated with a French theme. I can't wait until they finish doing whatever work is being done in the building so they can take the awning down and finish the work across the street. It will be an absolutely amazing place to come to once all the renovations (n of them being theirs :oO) are complete! Nice coffee shop to work out of. They have Wi-Fi (Spectrum Guest) which is limited 1 hour free unless you are a Spectrum costumer. They have tons of seating which is nice but the Wi-Fi isn't extremely fast, probably not ideal for Video Conferences.
