Very cute shop with a couple seats and lots of lovely decorations. I got the pandan matcha and honeycomb cake. While I enjoyed both I didnt get much of the pandan taste in either items. It was also early on a Saturday morning so it was a little wait since it was only one person working. But she was very nice and helpful
4.5 stars and rounded up! Dropped by on a freezing morning to try their matcha pandan latte and pandan honeycomb cake, was super impressed! From the outside you can tell this is a tiny cafe, two seats in the window with about seating for 10 people, 12 if you really squeeze. Walk in and order at the counter, they have menu of Vietnamese-and-Asian-inspired coffee and tea drinks, I've been seeing them posted everywhere and have been wanting to try everything! Notably they're most well known for their pandan latte (both espresso and matcha versions), though I'm also curious to try their black sesame latte, black matcha with ginger, jasmine matcha with pandan, calamansi latte, and Phin honey oat latte (or PHO lol). For those not familiar with pandan it's a fragrant leaf that imparts a light florally flavor and scent. It's particularly used in Southeast Asian desserts and what I predict will be the next new trend as Vietnamese coffee culture influences start popping up stateside. I got the pandan matcha $6.55 + $0.90 for oatmilk, and the pandan honeycomb cake $6.95, another staple they're known for. The pandan matcha was FIRE. Perfection in a cup to me, I've been on the hunt for pandan drinks now that they're starting to trend in NYC and I'm 100% here for Le Phin's version. The amount of pandan flavor and sweetness (not too sweet) balanced with the grass light bitterness of the matcha was what I was hoping for. Their honeycomb cake was bouncy, chewy and delicious with plenty of pandan flavor as well. A little on the sweeter side for me though no complaints other than the price felt a little high though I get inflation and it's really quite a novelty item. I'll definitely be back to try some other drinks!
I am usually not a fan of matcha but they made me a fan of this one. The strawberry matcha here was soooo yummy and definitely worth the wait. There is some seating but a little cramped in the store. Definitely recommend trying one of their specialty matchas
Really cute cafe with really nice staff, but I wish my Vietnamese iced coffee was sweeter. And had more of the milky consistency you get with condensed milk. My friend got the egg coffee though, and the egg foam was so good. It was spiced with cinnamon, so it was very eggnog vibes.
I had a spectacular Pandan Jasmine Matcha here. Excellent flavor and excellent matcha. This shop is so cute!!! The service was great and their matcha made me very happy.
SERVICE - located in east village on 10th st near tompkins square park - quaint and cozy interior with limited seating at tables and couches - can get crowded quickly especially during busier times - baristas are friendly and welcoming - drinks can take a few minutes to make as each one is poured to order - ambiance good for a casual meetup or working if you are okay with ambient noise - no restrooms available for customers MENU - Vietnamese inspired cafe beverages - plant based milk alternatives available for an extra charge - average price FOOD - black matcha with ginger (8/10): black matcha was a very unique concept to me. The barista explained it as using black tea instead of green tea to make the matcha powder and proceeding to make the drink as you would with regular matcha. I ordered it with pistachio milk and it comes with ginger syrup. I was expecting to taste like chai with the combination of black tea and ginger. The ginger was stronger than the tea flavor but also sweet, making it taste more like a candied ginger latte. I think it is worth trying though I was hoping for more bitterness from the black tea. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! Though would likely do takeaway as it can get crowded quickly.
Black sesame latte was only ok in my opinion, wish it had more black sesame flavor. I'd come back to try something matcha related though!
Turmeric ginger latte was pretty good. The turmeric was very strong and there was less ginger flavor since it's a syrup. It would be better if they used fresh ginger. Very cute vibe.

The worker that worked while I was there was super nice and grateful that I stopped in. I got a regular Vietnamese iced coffee. It was very good. Highly recommend this place. Atmosphere here is very zen feeling.
Super cozy lil spot. Loved the decor and the furniture. Drinks had cool concepts and the glassware had personality. Viet coffee was a little too sour for my taste. Just sat there and chopped it up for a while. Great place.
Great spot but definitely a tight fit inside. The vietnamese iced coffee was really good (very thin and not thick to make you feel too full) but the iced jasmine matcha with pandan was hard to drink. The jasmine overpowered any taste of the pandan and the drink was super bitter.
Heard good things about Le Phin. It's pretty decent, but nothing special. The matcha was pretty basic, if I had to pick one, go for the Pandan one instead of Strawberry! The coffee was good but make sure to look at their menu inside instead of online. Some items can only be made hot instead of iced. Very cramped area with very little seating. However, the barista was very nice and efficient. I believe she was the only one working there and she was able to handle taking orders and making drinks very well. There was barely a wait and it got crowded very quickly, she was so impressive!
Pandan latte is great. Has almost a cereal milk-like flavor towards the end. There's this cute alcove for you to sit with shoes off and the tiniest coffee table to get a little bit of work or reading done.
A very small cafe in east village with unique vietnamese flavors. Although the space was packed, it had a great ambiance. I would recommend getting there early or during off peak hours if you would like to get a seat. The pandan matcha latte had a very subtle pandan flavor. It was tasty, but the real star of the show was the pandan honeycomb cake to me. It was so bouncy and chewy, with great flavor. I also liked that it wasn't very sweet. I would come back just for the cake, and not any drinks. read more

Got the matcha strawberry drink and it was super good. The strawberry puree was also great because it was super fresh and not overly sugary The place is super cute and staff were helpful with figuring out what drink would be best to order Only downside is that it is a bit crammed in there with no seating available when we went. A cute little matcha cafe in Manhattan, this place was awesome. The decor was super cute and comfy and makes this the perfect date spot. I got the matcha jasmine tea and it was spectacular. It actually tasted like real fresh matcha. So refreshing and a great way to start my day. Next time I'm trying the pandan matcha latte. read more
This East Village gem is a cute cafe serving Vietnamese coffee. The inside of the shop is a bit small, with minimal seating/work space. But! They do have free wi-fi if you did want to work (just note that it might be hard to get a table). Service here was quick and they also serve some small pastries for you to enjoy with your drink. I got the pandan matcha and thought that it was delicious. You rarely see pandan served in NYC, and I appreciate how fragrant it was in this drink. Would love to come back next time I'm in the area! read more

Jasmine Matcha with Pandan syrup....need I say more? Ok wow but this was absolutely worth almost $8. Not your typical matcha latte with milk base but it is a wonderful and unique alternative. You still get the notes of matcha and the jasmine and Pandan goes sooooo well together. I'm legit still dreaming about the aftertaste. Additionally, gotta give it the top tier Asian compliment - it wasn't too sweet!!! read more

This is a tiny spot with literally like 2 seating spots inside, but the drinks are pretty good! It's definitely popular, and there was a long line when I arrived. I got the pandan matcha, which was actually quite good - you can really taste the matcha flavor as well as the subtle pandan too. It was such a nicely balanced drink, and it was great with soy milk. I'd definitely recommend trying this spot! read more
A cozy space to hang out with a few friends! On a Wednesday morning, Le Phin was quite empty, and I was able to order immediately. I ordered their matcha latte with oat milk and enjoyed my drink on their main sofa. In a peaceful environment, I enjoyed the taste of the matcha along with the portion of ice to actual drink. Besides me, there was a man enjoying true Vietnamese drip coffee with all the necessary utensils to drink the coffee. What a lovely space, and I'd love to come here again to try their other drinks in the future! read more

Was craving a viet coffee so popped into this little shop. It is very small and cozy inside with just a few seats. There's one barista who was pretty quick with the drinks. Taste of the coffee was good and not super strong. read more
I really wanted to like this place, I drove a bit of a distance to try their exciting, signature menu items, Vietnamese egg coffee and the pandan matcha latte. As a person who loves these flavors, The whipped egg topping was tasty, and rich. not as thick as some of the other places in the City, but good enough, but that's where it stops. I was so sad after one sip of the actual coffee, it tasted like watered down, run of the mill instant coffee. I asked what kind of coffee they used and the guy said it was their regular, cold brew (pale), no actual Vietnamese coffee. I was livid. The matcha? A similar quality, with a complete absence of the pandas flavor. $17 down the drain.... I ended up at a local chain 10 minutes later. Please make coffee that is a least half as robust as Robusta. read more
Solid cafe featuring Viet/Asian flavors! I was in the area and stopped by for some pick me ups. The viet coffee had strong coffee flavors but it was definitely on the sweeter side. The iced pandan matcha had pretty good authentic pandan flavors and matcha flavors separately, but not sure if they truly went well together. It was pandan leaves first then the matcha grassiness followed. I do appreciate how this one wasn't too sweet and the matcha was well mixed. The store itself was intimate with only a couple tables and some couch seating. Laptops permitted on the weekdays but not sure about the weekends. read more

such an adorable little cafe!! they have all different unique vietnamese drinks :) pandan matcha latte - hmm interesting but probs wouldn't get again bc it had a coconut after taste that i didnt rly love. jasmine matcha w pandan - prob the best drink imo, i loveee jasmine with matcha. i thought this was gonna be a latte but it wasn't. it was very refreshing :) strawberry matcha latte - this one was a little too sweet and i think the strawberry dominated the matcha read more

Pandan isn't something found in most coffee shops so we decided to seize the opportunity being at a Vietnamese coffee shop! The Iced Pandan Latte and Iced Pandan Matcha Latte were both well-made, silky smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness and nuttiness from the pandan. The pandan syrup shined through way more in the Iced Pandan Latte than in the matcha version. Good try and gave me the caffeine kick I need to start my day! read more

This is a tiny place in the East Village that is as trendy as the surrounding stores. There's minimal seating, but it's quite cute inside. Everyone working was so nice and accommodating (they washed the cups/utensils used for making a drink when we notified them of a nut allergy). It's just that I wouldn't go to this place if you're looking for a strong Vietnamese coffee. It was pretty weak and more sugar than coffee. I also tried the pandan latte, which I have similar issues with. Overly sweet with no specific flavor because the pandan is weak. read more
Probably the iced coffee I've had in the city. It was the perfect balance of strength and sweetness. The cafe was a nice cozy spot. Some areas to sit, lots of sunlight, and shady benches outside. The service was friendly and quick as well. This will be a must go when I'm in the area now. read more

I was excited to find coffee shop serving Vietnamese coffee, so of course we had to stop by after lunch. We ordered the P.H.O latte (phin, honey, oat milk) and pandan latte. The P.H.O latte was tasty, but I think next time I would just prefer a phin brewed coffee since I thought the oat milk took away some of the kick of the phin. I love pandan and the latte was quite tasty with a pretty strong pandan flavor. There is limited seating inside and it can get busy, but definitely cute and cozy vibes. I think if I come back, I'll try their Vietnamese iced coffee or get the pandan latte again! read more

I have been on the hunt for a good Vietnamese iced coffee. This place has been on my list. It's super small with a few tables inside. I got an iced Vietnamese iced coffee. It wasn't too strong. It was good and not too sweet, but I'm used to something stronger. I drank it pretty fast though. I'd come back again! read more
