Super yum lemon grass chicken. No words express my happiness. Family is nice. Bread was fresh.
Probably one of the best banh mi options on the island! Located on the top level of this building, this banh mi has a perfectly crispy/baked bread and well balanced mix of ingredients. We ordered both the Saigon special and the crispy pork options. I personally preferred the Saigon social due to its balanced taste, it didn't feel overly heavy, and everything worked well together. This place tends to sell out closer to closing so I recommend buying early! They have plenty of seats inside and outside and service is quick. My only qualm, as with everything in hawaii, is the prices are starting to get pretty expensive. But otherwise I will def be coming back!
This place was a hit! Found it on yelp after searching for Bahn mi sandwich spots It's on the top floor. I had the Roast pork bahn mi which was DELICIOUS. I enjoyed Every single bite. Crispy bread with crispy roast pork and fresh vegetables. OMG I think this is the best bahn mi sandwich I've ever eaten. My husband had the #1 sandwich. Sorry forgot the name but he didn't like it as much as he liked mines. I will definitely come here again and again and again!
Thank you Le and Associates! With the crispy roast pork nestled in blankets of veg and the perfect slice of jalapeño to bring us some fresh heat? It was a warm breeze to a late Honolulu afternoon. Here I don't have to ask for extra pâtè or jalapeño or anything really. It's a perfect sandwich. Their Saigon Special is super special. But this was my last day with pork for a bit and wanted to have some fun in a banh mi shop that just hits. Every time. And, I usually select their Vietnamese coffee, but the peach tea was calling my name and was the perfect alternative! The roast pork had this sweet glaze that paired perfectly. It was the perfect porch snack! Or should I say lanai? This was a perfect sandwich in the middle of January, smack dab in the middle of the Pacific, I am torched even in the middle of winter. Cooked.
Ordered for takeout at 11am on a Saturday, and only waited a few minutes for two sandwiches to come out. They're located on the third floor and have a few tables indoors and another couple outdoors if you choose to dine-in. The building also has public restrooms on the same floor. I split the Saigon Special and the Roasted Pork banh mi with my partner so we were able to try both options. The bread was pretty good- airy, crisp, and doesn't scratch up your mouth! There was a good amount of pickled veggies, pate, and meat to be satisfied. I typically love a good cold cuts sandwich, but surprisingly, I preferred the roast pork sandwich- the fat of the pork belly was rendered out so nicely and was another crispy element of the sandwich, while the meaty bits were rich and tender.
We saw that Le's Banh Mi made the Top 100 restaurants list so we decided we had to try Le's in our next trip to Oahu. They are located close to Walmart and Sam's Club. There is a small valet parking lot that serves the businesses in the small complex. It took a little searching but we found street parking in a cluttered neighborhood next to Walmart. We ordered 4 Banh Mi: two of the Saigon Special, a Roasted Pork and a Lemongrass Chicken sandwich. The rolls were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The vegetables were all very fresh, tasty, not limp and a good amount of ingredients. The Roasted Pork was really rich from a lot of fat from the meat which overpowered the sandwich. The Saigon Special was good but the Lemongrass Chicken was the best. It takes awhile to make the sandwiches so be prepared to wait a little bit. It took about 20 minutes to get our sandwiches which gave me time to peruse the Cookie Lady shop a couple of doors over. Overall the sandwiches were very good with the exception of the Roasted Pork sandwich. It was still a good sandwich just overpiwe the fat. Li's Banh Mi is worth a visit to try one of the sandwiches. The service is okay, parking a challenge and the prices are about what should be expected.
The Roasted pork was succulent, so juicy juicy juicy, with crackling skin. I was biting into heaven. Really good Vietnamese sandwich on the third floor to the right hand side. We had the roast pork sandwich and it was fresh and delicious. The meat was tasty and tender with lots of flavor. The pickled daikon and carrots were sweet, the fresh herbs and vegetables added more freshness to the mix. The sliced jalapeño gave it an extra kick of spiciness. And can't forget the bread, it was crispy and soft, nicely baked to perfection. It doesn't get better than this. I call in for my order but somehow it failed to pass through to the kitchen. The gentleman at the cashier was really nice and gave me a discount plus 2 extra baguette for the mix-up. Plus the sandwiches came out in 5 minutes so not a big deal at all. I would come back for more!

Wow, this place is so good! They absolutely nailed the bread which was fresh and crusty. The pickled vegetables and herbs were the perfect amount with the right acidity, so I didn't need to pay extra. But the best part was the delicious, roasted pork inside that complemented the bread and vegetables perfectly. My husband and I are split on which we prefer; I'm a fan of Le's, and he prefers No Name. Both have less-than-ideal parking. I love that Le's is open early, but remember you have to go around back to find the stairwell.
Bread was breading, fillings filled to the brim, and tastes were tasting amazing. I was surprised to see a spot with so many good reviews (cautiously optimistic?) but honestly, I can see why. This spot is tucked into the 3rd floor at a complex with other eateries and can be easy to miss if you're not looking from the street. The interior is small but bright and cute and the outdoor tables are a great vibe. You order at the counter and there are a mix of banh mi, viet coffees/teas. We pulled through with a matcha so can't comment on the viet coffee, but others seemed to really enjoy it. Now for the banh mi, your girl had to get the mixed tofu and mushroom one (you can do both or either one of the two as your veggie option). The banh mi are not playing AROUND. The bread is super crisp crunchy without being hard and the inside is fluffy perfection. The pickled veggies and jalapeno topping are A+ and they do not skimp whatsoever. My friend's lemongrass chicken banh mi was also bustin at the seams. My only qualm was that the tofu/mushroom was a biiit sweeter than I'd like but I think easily fixed with more jalapeno or chili sauce. You get great quality and quantity for the price and service is super friendly. Street parking in the area isn't bad either! Come thru and support this cute business with some of the best banh mi I have had in a while!
Super delicious I went with my sister. She got the lemongrass chicken and I got the Saigon special. The baguette was really warm and crispy. I also ordered a peach tea and she got the coffee with foam. Service was super fast and easy. I ordered mine as a combo. I like how quiet it was and it was only down the street from Walmart .
I am not a banh mi expert by any means, but this is the best banh mi I have ever had. The crunch of the bread and everything in between was a symphony of different flavors and textures. Food was made to order and not too much wait. There were 2 tables inside and a few more outside. This is definitely a go to for banh mi sandwich and I dont generously give 5 stars and this one was worth it.
Everything is so so good!!! This place is located on the third floor. You cannot really see it from the street. Lots of street parking around the strip. Those fresh baguette's are freaking banging delicious!!! The Lemongrass chicken is amazing! The Roasted Pork, incredible. Thai tea is yummy. Please don't come here if you are picky and want to eliminate an item or sub something on these sandwiches. They are perfect as is. So honestly please stay away If you want to change anything on these suckers! Service is fast . English isn't the greatest, but easy to order anyway. We ordered and had sandwiches in about 7 minutes. We outside on the veranda. Ample seating. 4 tables that two top seating. $28 for two sandwiches and the Thai tea. Amazing price! Freaking cannot wait to come back!
Once upon a long time ago, my great grandma used to sell banh mi sandwiches on the streets of Vietnam. My family immigrated to Hawaii in the mid-80's. While my family doesn't own a sandwich shop, we appreciate good Vietnamese food. The bread is freshly baked. It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but not crunchy (crunch baguettes cut up the roof of your mouth). I got the mushroom and tofu. The mushroom gave a nice texture. I just wish there was more seasoning on the tofu. Yelp BFF got the crispy pork and ice tea, which I highly recommend! Sandwiches are topped with pickled daikon and carrots, cucumber, cilantro and jalapeno. I think the sandwiches are big enough to share, but I finished the entire thing lol I will be back! These sandwiches were so tasty. Took us a second to find it as it was on the third floor, but happy we tried this spot. Good amount of meat, fresh pickled veggies and some heat in the Jalapeno. We also got one combo and the Vietnamese coffee was really good. read more

The best Banh Mi hands down! Our banh mi's were ready after a short wait. I didn't mind the wait because I got to enjoy the city view while sitting on the tables outside. I prefer the roast pork banh mi because it's so flavorful and you get crunchy bits of pork skin which adds a nice texture. But what makes this banh mi better than other places is the fresh bread, so good! Coffee is great too! read more

Vietnamese sandwiches in Honolulu, Hawaii... My LB (lunch buddy aka Little Brother), Dear Daniel, told me about Le's Bahn Mi. He actually kind of raved about it excitedly ...with emphasis! Haha! I thought, "Wow - it must be good because he took me to a great Bahn Mi place in Oakland... hmmm... I'll have to go to this Honolulu Bahn mi place day..." And of course... that day came. My friend asked me where I wanted to go for lunch. I described Le's Bahn Mi even though I'd never been there before. I knew that it was in the 808 Sheridan Center on the third floor. We parked on Sheridan Street for free (the side of the street across from Walmart), took the elevator up, and walked past Sushi Murayama. Le's Bahn Mi is clean and bright because it's a new place and the natural sunlight comes through the glass windows. We chose to dine inside because the three outdoor dining tables were taken. Service was polite. Sandwiches are made to order (I could hear the chopping of fresh veggies), so, we had a bit of a wait. The people before us were served first in an inefficient manner. The cashier would take each package to the waiting customers and call out the contents of the package. It was amusing to watch him go from person to person. My friend and I each ordered a Roast Pork Bahn Mi. It was excellent! The tender pork was seasoned well! The pickled carrots and daikon gave each bite some tartness. The bread was soft on the inside and so crunchy on the outside that crumbs flew all over the table top! By mistake, my friend's sandwich had fresh green veggies in it. The sandwich maker apologized because she forgot to omit the cilantro as requested. Next time, I should ask for "no jalapenos". I knew something was spicy in my sandwich. I had to open it, look, and remove those peppers! LOL! Overall, we had a great lunch! I'd order the Roast Pork again - or - maybe try the lemongrass tofu and/or mushroom option. read more
Best banh mi bread on all of Oahu. Let's just say, they've got their bread recipe down. Saigon Special would have to be my favorite. The roast pork with pate added is my second favorite. They're located on the 3rd floor. Parking can be a bit of a hassle depending on when you go. Their service could be a bit friendlier but I'm ambivalent either way as long as their banh mi is tasty. The establishment is clean enough and is fairly new. Overall, 5 stars for best baked banh mi on-island. read more
Banh Mi Breakfast! No, I didn't hit my head. This sandwich is breakfast food in Vietnam. Crispy Pork Bahn Mi. That's all you need to know. Chunks, not slices of juicy roast pork with crispy, crunchy, blistered skin. A generous smear of sweet, salty, spicy chili sauce. Fresh cucumber, cilantro, and flash pickled carrots and daikon all in a fresh baked, gently crisp baguette. It makes for one of the most flavorful bahn mi around. The Saigon special (pate, pork and char siu) , also good but much more mild in flavor swapping the chili sauce for mayo. The pickled veg becomes much more pronounced giving the sandwich a tart, more refreshing flavor. Rabbit food? A lemongrass tofu version is available but not sampled. Do try the Vietnamese ice coffee. Brewed to order, EXTREMELY STRONG tempered by sweet condensed milk. Delivers a huge caffeine jolt and pairs perfectly with the sandwiches. Notes: 1. The Saigon is available from 7am, the roast pork from 8:30am and the lemongrass tofu from 9am. 2. 15 minute parking available (first six stalls before the valet) for phone orders. 3. I know it's shiny and new but omg the Banh Mi is absolutely outstanding! I read RodU's review yesterday and since I was taking Sofie to Itchy Pooch and Aunti Carol for grooming I thought Hmmm I'm in the area so I'm stopping for Banh Mi Brekkie! How much faith do I have in Rod's review?.....I ordered three sandwiches without first trying. One for me and two for my lady groomers. I was so excited I decided to eat mine on the walkway lanai fronting the shop then for the next hour I eyed the other two but alas they were promised. The roast pork is chopped into little uniform pieces with outstanding fresh pickled veggies, fresh crisp cucumber, one little slice of jalapeño so if you like more just ask. Besides the wonderful pork and veggies the bread is so pillowy soft on the inside with the crispy crunch on the outside. A remarkable combination. I capped my Blunch off with their Vietnamese Iced Coffee....get this to go with the Sammie, it's amazing. Parking hasn't changed. Its easy. I'll be back! read more
Le's Bahn Mi is for me! After dining at Sho's Kitchen on the 2d floor, lunch mates wanted to check out what else was available at 808 Sheridan. We meandered upstaurs to the 3d floor. It was a mirage: eureka, a new bahn mi shop! It wasn't yet open and I vowed to return for my share of bahn mi. Finally got my better half over here so we could check it out and sink our teeth into these sandwiches. There was a short line when we got there around 11 am on a weekend. The word was out to try these delectable sandwiches on homemade baguettes. We ordered the Saigon Special and roast pork combo (with ice tea). We patiently waited on the benches outside, as more customers rolled in. Everyone politely asked folks waiting outside whether they were waiting to order, before proceeding indoors. Nice to see courtesy amongst fellow foodies. Luckily, tables opened up and our order arrived shortly. To borrow the words of John Veneri, it was time to grind! Thank you Russel M for finding this place! Le's Banh Mi is located in 808 Center on the 3rd floor right next to Sushi Murayama. The building only has one elevator so be patient or you can walk the stairs. Parking for this place is valet, street metered parking or illegally park at Walmart. I'm not saying to park at Walmart but people have done it. Just be warned if you get towed. The inside of the restaurant is clean and bright. They have one table to dine on inside and several tables that you can dine on outside. We chose to dine outside for some fresh air. The customer service was friendly and the banh mi doesn't take long to come out. Since it's banh mi, a Vietnamese sandwich, you can easily get it to go. The first time I came here was with a friend to get take out for his family. He was telling me that Russel M introduced him to this spot. Since we just ate pho, we decided to come back the following week for lunch. The week went by quickly and we met up for a quick lunch. My friend ordered me the Roasted Pork option and it was DELICIOUS! The pork was juicy and the crispy skin was a nice compliment to the crunchy top of the toasted bread. They bake their bread daily and it's perfect. You don't cut up the roof of your mouth eating it and the center is so soft. The best part was the spicy sauce they used because it had a nice kick to it (you can get it not spicy). We did add more Sriracha but the banh mi was legit. 4.5 stars read more

Absolutely love this place... my boyfriend introduced banh mi to me because I wanted something light and healthy and now I crave it. The bread has just enough chewiness to the point it doesn't feel like a work out and it's crunchy! Tried their Saigon special combo with coffee and roasted pork combo with ice tea. Boyfriend and I agreed Saigon over the pork just because the pork combo had more fat to it. And the coffee? Not too sweet to the point you feel like you're consuming just sugar. Definitely will come here again when I'm in town, conveniently park at Walmart and walk it! 3 min walk tops. And there's outdoor seating with a view. Not much of a long wait for the food, was entertained by the driving reverse skills anyway since it's an overview of Choi's garden parking lot. Cool building to venture into since there's other restaurants. Each floor does have their own bathroom code! read more
Got to finally try this place, located on the 3rd floor above my favorite Sho's. Anyways only 3 choices for Bahn mi, decided to get the roast pork as I seen other reviews recommending it more. Bread was good, crispy outside and chewy inside like how it should be. Roast pork was legitimately roasted pork belly with crispy skin. Only dislike is some pieces are really hard and rubbery like if you ever had full on pork belly with skin before. So if you have sensitive teeth and such biting into a hard piece can be shocking just a FYI. Other than that great flavor and well balanced. read more

Le's Bahn Mi is a great spot for all bahn mi lovers. It is conveniently located in the 808 Center on Sheridan Street, right next door to my barber (Penthouse HNL). This time, we tried their Roast Pork and Lemongrass Chicken sandwiches, and my girlfriend got the Thai Tea. She ordered the Roast Pork sandwich, which had tender pieces of pork. The flavor was good, but I wished they added some spicy mayo sauce, which would have made it perfect. The jalapeños provided a nice kick of spiciness, but wasn't too overpowering. The baguette was also toasted perfectly. I got the Lemongrass Chicken sandwich, which was excellent. The chicken had a good flavor which paired well with the pickled carrots and daikon. I got mines without cilantro of course. The portion size was just right. She never finishes her sandwich so I always get about half of hers. We were both left satisfied. The Thai Tea was perfect match. She thought it was a little too sweet, but I thought it was perfect. I always get 100% sweet whenever getting boba so this was right in line. She waited for some of the ice to melt and said it was really good. Given the convenient location and the quality of the food, I can see myself coming back for more sandwiches after my haircuts. read more
Alright, definitely in the top 3 Bahn Mi places I've had so far. Le's Bahn Mi has the BEST bread of all the spots. Saigon Special, so flavorful, perfect bread, they don't skimp on veggies. It was a little greasy but that's just the delicious flavor! This was my favorite sandwich here! Pork, that pork in there was CRISPY and then juicy and the texture was way different than other Bahn Mi spots, in a good way. I think it needed a little more flavor but I would order it again another time to try it once more. Tofu and Mushroom, Aw man the bread and veggies were good but there wasn't much flavor in the tofu and mushroom part. Bummer because the tofu and mushroom were perfectly soft and not rubbery like some places, if it just had a kick of flavor or marinade it would have jumped to one of the top of my favorite veggie bahn mi spots. If Bella Bahn Mi had Le's bread, they would be unstoppable haha. Still, the iced coffee and the strawberry tea went well with all this! Would definitely go there and try it again, but would probably ask for extra sauce on the pork and the tofu mushroom Bahn Mi. Definitely recommend the especially if you're in town and want a good Vietnamese sandwich and coffee! Get the Saigon Special and iced coffee! read more

New banh mi place! Need to try it asap! I noticed a new banh mi place popped up on my Yelp feed and instantly had to check it out. Told a friend about it, and she went before I did and told me how yummy it was! It's located in the 808 Sheridan building on the third floor. There's a small valet parking area, but I recommend parking in the Walmart parking lot as there's a ton more stalls there! I got the Saigon Special and my boyfriend got the Roasted Pork. We both halved our sandwiches to try both of them out hehe. Thankfully the sandwiches were cut in half as other places don't do that. The bread was nicely toasted and crispy when I bit into my sandwiches. But this was the kind of bread that would hurt the roof of the mouth if not careful. The Roasted Pork sandwich was basically a BBQ pork sandwich. It had good amount of flavor with a nice tenderness. But the meat seemed kind of lacking. The same applies to the Saigon Special. I felt there was a lack of meat compared to other places I've been and frequent too. The Saigon Special was delicious tho! Many different cuts of meat including pate! Love the pate in my banh mi sandwiches. YUM. Decent banh mi place. I don't really see or taste anything that would rival other banh mi places. If you can find this place open, which is not easy, go! The Saigon Special Banh Mi was perfect! The bread to filling balance was stupendous, not to say quantity but texture. The bread was feather light, crisp but not delicate. The sandwich filling a cacophony of savory meats and garden fresh vegetables was accented but picked items. Admittedly, I ate it on the Pali on my ride home, so other than delicious, I wasn't able to take an inventory of that petite baguette. I might give it a dab of mayonnaise cause I am from the south, though that popular here too on nearly everything. read more

Best banh mi I ever had! I got the Saigon special and my husband got the lemongrass chicken sandwich. They were both really delicious! The bread they bake there for the sandwich is perfect. Usually when I eat a bahn mi the bread cuts the roof of my mouth. This one was a perfect ratio or crunch and softness. Also, their bread isn't a thick bread & they put a great amount of meat and veggies inside! I would highly recommend and will come back! They also have some Vietnamese coffees, I tried the basic Vietnamese iced coffee and enjoyed it. They have some seating inside and outside. It wasn't to busy when we went so our wait time for our sandwiches was about 5-8 mins. read more

Fabulous Banh mi. This is absolutely my weekly crave. Not sure what it is, the fresh baked French bread that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside? The daikon and carrot pickles? The flavorful lemongrass chicken or roast pork? It's all of it, perfectly balanced with Chinese parsley and jalapeño! Yumm! You absolutely cannot forget any of the Vietnamese Coffees! In A Nutshell: -Le's Banh Mi is hands-down the best banh mi I've eaten. -Get their Roast Pork Banh Mi, it's so good. -Crispy bits of skin w/ moist pork on a perfect banh mi roll make this a delicious sandwich. -Their Vietnamese Coffee is also very powerful, I always go all black baby. -Their customer service is phenomenal too. Overall, you can enjoy your sandwich(es) right outside their door on a nice, sunny Hawaiian day overlooking parts of Honolulu. read more

The Banh Mi here is, hands down, better than the ones I had in Vietnam (granted I only had them from street vendors in Ho Chi Minh City). The bread is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The meats in the sandwich are fresh, thick slices. When I asked for extra pate, they really filled it in (see pic). The veggies are fresh, crunchy, tasted like they just been sliced. The coffee (had salted coffee and coconut coffee) is on par with the ones I had in Vietnam as well. I felt like I was sitting out in HCM city when I was drinking it. Service here is excellent, with nice seating area. We returned here for the next 3 mornings just because it was that good. read more
Holy shit this place is good. We tried most of the menu and I swear I dream about that lemongrass chicken sometimes. The bread is baked fresh and it is light, crispy and doesnt rip open the top of your mouth. Makes a world of difference. Do not, however, eat this in your car. Enjoy it at the cute patio seating outside so the birds can clean up all the crumbs. Drinks are also very good. Only downside overall is parking and price. The tiny valet lot is free for 1 hour, but we usually just park at walmart and walk across the street. And despite the price I gotta say it's worth it since I keep coming back. And a more specific thing; I tried the tofu mushroom sandwich, which tasted pretty good (not as good as the chicken) but took forever for some reason. Like 25 min compared to 10 every other time. So, vegetarians maybe keep that in mind. read more

Is the bread baked fresh onsite or is it from Bale?
No .. they make it fresh... That's why... in my opinion.. it is better than Bales ..
Do you sell the bread? If so, how much? I used to get them in Texas 3 for $1.00, a little over a year ago.
Hi Colin, We sell plain baguette here for $1.50 each (small one that we use for sandwiches).
Parking? Is there a fee?
Valet parking is available at the building (1st hour free). Street parking also available, or you can park at Walmart and walk over
Can you get a combo of roast pork or lemongrass chicken bahn mi with an iced coffee? (The menu only shows the Saigon special with coffee for $15)
We can do that…. Please ask upon your arrival
Do you have delivery?
Hi Brenda, We dont do delivery directly from the shop, but you can order from Uber Eats and get it delivered.…
