Not too shabby. I was a bit skeptical first going in. A place called Leaf brings to mind groups of pretentiously spiteful vegans and patchouli. Good quality, nice selection, soup was tasty and the jambalaya was appropriately spicy. The smoothie was tasty, reasonably priced, and fresh ginger is a big plus. The negative of this place is that is not meant for hunger. To keep the product of Leaf fresh, it costs you. I had a decent sized meal there true, but it still cost me 17 bucks. I like The Leaf and its nice choices of fresh ingredients for good salads. There are some really nice unusual ingredients and nice dressings as well. I haven't tried the smoothies, but their soups are very nice too. The price is a bit hefty, hence the 4 stars. Having gone to this establishment since they opened pretty much on a weekly basis and having great customer service you can imagine how frustrated I was to show up this morning to get my morning smoothie and to experience the worst customer service I've ever experienced in all of my 43 years. Although I like what they have to offer I will never go back to this business again. I know that they change ownership not too long ago and maybe their standards of people as well as the quality of what they sell has also decreased under the new ownership. read more

Lots of variety for fresh fruits and vegetables. Their smoothies also taste great. I suggest the Pistachio Pudding smoothie! Healthier than it sounds! The location is awesome, too. I ate a relatively large salad and a smoothie for $10. I don't think that is too bad. read more

I truly enjoy going to Leaf. The variety of options on their salad bar is enough for most people to find something they like. I am a big fan of the smoked salmon -- I sometimes purchase just that and a bit of fruit. The price point can get a bit high, but I keep my salads to smaller portions so it's manageable. It gets pretty busy right at noon, so I try to go a little before or a little after. It is definitely worth a try. read more

It seems a bit pricey, but hey -- for a salad bar like this, that's entirely worth it. They have the largest selection that I've ever seen at a salad bar, and all of it was fresh. I was definitely impressed, both by the variety and by the quality. The staff seemed to be on top of their game too; the cashier was friendly and fast, and whoever was tasked with refilling/refreshing everything in the bar was clearly attentive. There was no stray cheese anywhere, or runaway tomatoes dropped into the olives. They do seem to have a lot of throwaway plastic for a place called Leaf, but *shrug*. The building isn't all that big, so I think they mostly attract people who get their food to go. For that, I can see how you would want a plastic clamshell box. I did not have a smoothie or soup when I went, just the salad and a water. But if the rest of their food is as good as the salad, I really recommend it. read more

I love having a salad bar in the area! There are a ton of toppings and salad dressings to chose from and they were all fresh and tasty. My only problem was the price. It was an expensive salad and they only have large containers which makes taking more than you need easy to do read more

For a mid-Michigan salad joint this place isn't bad. The decor is not what I would call hip but is simple. I appreciate that there is a good variety of healthy ingredients and fruits. It always seems a bit pricey is hard to leave without dropping over $20 in two salads but I appreciate the convenience and healthy options. Customer service can be lacking depending on who you get. The other night we were in and waiting patiently for at least five minutes (the employee was behind the counter making smoothies and although not busy there failed to greet us or say "I'll be with you in just a minute!"), before we were able to ask for the ranch to be refilled as it was out. The employee said "we're out." No apology, just acted annoyed. Kind of got the vibe as they closed in under an hour she didn't want to re-fill it. Either way, kind of bad planning for a salad bar to run out of ranch and as they only have one container of it, have to ask and wait for it to be refilled every single time I go there. read more

Finally! A great healthy food choice option near Frandor shopping center. I stopped by for a late lunch recently to check it out. The folks working immediately greet you and are also HAPPY to see you. It is a self serve buffet style salad bar with LOTS of options for lettuces, veggies, proteins, tons of toppings, etc. There were a few small tables and I kind of got the feeling it was more of a to-go restaurant, as tables were near by front door which would be chilly (10 degree's outside) and likely too much traffic to comfortably eat in but definitley not a dealbreaker for me as I happily looked around at this awesome display of healthy greenery. Food was fresh, plentiful and sensibly laid out. One thing to keep in mind, as you make your way down the buffet line adding to your food container (no plates - but rather plastic food containers that you can take to go or stay inside and eat out of) when you get to the end of line to pay they will weigh your food. You pay by the pound. So I was instruced to place my food container and the container that I put my salad dressing into on the food scale. It was all weighed - they charge something like $8.49 per pound regardless of what food is in the container. This particular day I had loaded up on cauliflower, shrimp, chicken, peppers, etc with very little lettuce that day! Also, I did not need to fill my salad dressing container to the top as I actually never use much dressing (but did take it home as it was good dressing). That said, I got a lot of food for my money - I could not eat it all so it was like 2 meals for me. Bread was complementary which was nice. Don'f forget to grab utensils at end of counter before you go. If you like salads, vegetables, soups or just being able to have a quick healthy food option you will enjoy Leaf. Only reason I did not give 5 stars was due to lack of 'eat-in' restaurant feel. read more

Fantastic! The food is exactly as amazing as you want it to be. The staff is friendly, and the selection is great. It's such a nice treat to have this place available when it feels like all we've got is garbage to eat. Great salad little salad bar. Something different in the sea of fast food restaurants. They have a great selection of veggies, dressings, and condiments. I would say over 8 per pound is pretty expensive. Also they weigh there dressing and the same price as the salad seems outrageous. I had 2 salads that cost me $22 with dressing after removing the dressings from order the 2 salads cost me $16. That is some expensive dressing! read more
