Woke up one morning to a leak in one my front sprinkler valves. One sprinkler zone was stuck on, and there was water everywhere. I was unable to turn off the main valve because it was so old and broken. Ugh. This had happened to me before and cost me around $600. So this time I called Lee Engineering. SO glad I did. At 7:15 AM they answered the phone and sent someone straight over to at least shut the system off until they could get back to do the repair later that day. A few hours later, after staying in constant contact with me on the phone, the same guys showed back up and fixed both my problem valves - for almost half the cost I has experienced previously with another company. Great customer service, and got the work done right the first time - at a really fair price. I'll definitely be calling them the next time I need something like this. read more

When I asked Max to show me how to set the new controller up he said there was no need because he had already programmed it (using a cheat sheet I had gotten from a previous sprinkler co) and that any changes would be automatic as the year went on. Well, he programmed it wrong, in several different ways, causing excessive watering on a daily basis. The sprinklers would run from 4 am to well past 11:00, run on days it wasn't set to run, and odd times throughout the day and night. I was in the process of moving, and my tenant didn't move in until a month later, so the excessive watering wasn't noticed right away. When I started digging around in the app I found reports showing the sprinklers ran every day, anywhere from 22-24 hours a week. Ft. Worth water department sent me a violation, and looking at their usage reports it shows I was up over 332% from this time last year. The first time I called Max I asked him to look at the programming, which he refused to do, instead making me wait 2 weeks for a tech to come out. They replaced the controller, but it didn't fix anything. I called again, and again had to wait 2 weeks for a tech that didn't even show up this time. Lee's Sprinklers tried to blame the app for malfunctioning, and told me I would have to be the one to deal with them, as Max refused to call himself to trouble shoot the issues. The problem is I'm the middle man, I couldn't answer their questions, and I live 45 min away from the house now; plus, I hired and paid Lee's Sprinklers, they chose the app, installed the app, and programmed the app, so Max acting like this had nothing to do with him was bewildering. I told Max to meet me at the house and we can talk to the app people together, which he did, making it clear I was putting him out by being rude, condescending, and talking down to me as if I hadn't been watering my yard for the past 17 years. He made it very clear he did not think this was his problem what-so-ever. While I'm on the phone with the app people I asked Max for my "cheat sheet" back (showing watering times per section and the % changes I should make over the months), which he texted me, and I immediately saw that he had doubled up the running times for the cycle and soaks, on every single station. I said that accounts for most of the problem right there, and when I looked up he was already walking out of my garage said "yep", and just left. He left the second he realized he had made a mistake, and now refuses to call me back. Talking to a supervisor at Hunter he figured out a few mistakes Max had made with the programming, one where he had entered it to water 20% more (then the already doubled up times he had inputted) if the temps were above 85, and this is summer in Texas y'all. Other settings were also entered incorrectly, which was causing the sprinklers to go off at weird times, 2 am, 8pm, 4 pm, etc. So, for the little over 2 months, since they installed the controller, I've had to pay $450 more in water charges than last year at this time, and they have waisted 10's of thousands of gallons of water during the hottest months of the year. Now, since Max won't return my calls, my next few days will be spent filing complaints with the appropriate agencies, just making this whole thing that much more tedious than it has to be. The supervisor at Hunter emailed Max a run down of what the problems were, and Max didn't reply to him either, so when issues arise don't expect Lee's to stand behind their work. Also, right after they did the work my values in my front yard started to pour water. I called Max out, he said they didn't cause it, and I, believing their 4.8 google reviews, paid Lee's to fix them. Turns out it is absolutely caused from irrigation work, from the friction moving and breaking parts. Instead of being honest, Max took advantage of me and charged me another $550 to fix the values Lee's broke. Total loss - $1000 The last two screenshots show the minute Max walked out of my garage and frantically started changing the sprinkler settings, thinking he was covering something up. read more

I can't say enough about this company. They replaced my 38 year old sprinkler system, front and back, installed sod, and put in a dry stream bed in the backyard for drainage. They worked with me on design, drainage, and especially budget. Max was my guy for all of that and kept working until we got to the $$ I could afford. Dorothy is the cheerful, helpful, kind, can-do voice on the phone who you know right away can help you make it happen. I can't remember every name, but the crew were all friendly and hard working. Stick to sprinklers. "Engineer" would not admit his evaluation and solution did nothing to improve a drainage problem. His knee jerk reaction was you need to do this. Installed a French drain and it had no effect on the flooding. Would not admit water was bypassing the drain. To prove his point, he put a hose on top of the drain and of course it drained. Paid $2000 + for nothing. Have done business with this company since the first owners. It is not the same. Actual working employees do a good job, but when what they are told to do does not work out, it isn't their fault. Sprinklers yes, engineering no. read more

Lee Engineering fixed our drainage problem several years ago when we had them put in drains to keep water away from our back porch and in our house. We had been living with sand bags against the back of the house. This week, we had them fix some retaining walls after we had a garage built. The wall looks fantastic and the pave stone walkway completes the look we were hoping for. Lee Engineering always shows up on time and completes the jobs as agreed upon. read more

Haven't used the company, only interaction with them was from a road rage worker. This man cuts me off, so I changed lanes to get away. Shrugged my shoulders, nothing else. Next thing I know he's coming up to me on another hwy at least 6 miles since he cut me off, window down, frothing at the mouth yelling obscenities at me???? Didn't know why, so I slowed and took a picture of truck to call in later. I continue to drive, change lanes, next thing I know he's slowed to froth again wanting me to pull over. At this point, I sped away. I called the company, the lady who answered, didn't really care that their driver was raging and threatening drivers, to the point saying she was on the phone with her driver. I continued to try and tell her how unhinged his behavior was , I got the impression she didn't care. If this is how one of their techs behave I would be completely scared with him alone with my wife in our house. Funny this company has terrible reviews on this, so they changed the name....stay away!!!! read more

I had my sprinkler system redone by Lee a year ago to the tune of several thousand $$. One year later I wish I had my old system back. The zone coverage with the heads they chose is woefully inadequate. I followed the programming they put in place at installation and my once green yard now has huge brown and bare spots. Paid a few hundred more to have them come back, and basically they said add more time to the zones.... Also have just been informed the system requires a subscription to keep certain features running. Would have been nice to have been informed of this prior to the sale, not a year later. read more

We had Lee Engineering help with a flooding problem. The plan they designed for the landscaping is working but the actually work is terrible. Our 3 month old retaining wall is crumbling. The sidewalk, that is supposed to drain water, holds water. And there are numerous small things wrong as well. The worst part is trying to get anything fixed. I've talked to and emailed and set up a time for someone from the company to come and look at the problem. The have rescheduled once, missed one appointment and as of today missed another. Unless you like throwing away large sums of money, I would stay far away from this company. read more

I'm sure they do great work, but I'll never know for sure because of the outrageous pricing. I paid $95 for an inspection of my system, which they would not complete unless I paid another $200 to replace 4 heads. My husband picked the heads up for around $20 total at Lowes and replaced them in less than 10 minutes. No reason they should charge $200 for this. read more

Mistakenly, I had the idea that a company with "engineering" in its name would have a sprinkler watering setup to sufficiently, yet efficiently, water the yard and flower beds. I expected Lee to make our bill less instead of more. Before Lee our highest water bill had been approximately $360. The first water bill after Lee worked on our system was over $500! Lee Engineering does not come back to adjust a problem they likely created without charging a service fee of approximately $90. My yard is dying because the sprinkler system is not working properly even though I have paid a high price to Lee Engineering to make the system excellent. Run from this company!!!..now brown spots cover the yard and several bed plants are dying.... I am going to purchase the old-fashion sprinklers to put on water hoses to get water to the yard and flower beds. I can't afford to have another company fix the sprinkler system Lee has messed up... NEVER LET LEE ENGINEERING NEAR YOUR YARD AND YOUR WALLET!! read more

I had some drainage problems that the sales rep gave me an estimate for a "solution" that wasn't even close to being right. Fortunately one of the crew worked through the situation and didn't compound what was wrong. When I protested my bill, they appeared to want to be fair, but in the end gave me the "short end" of things. My original estimate was $2,600 and their email said they would be willing to meet me in the middle. Usually the "middle" means in half. This company's middle was $1,800. ???? I protested on their "math", but we finally agreed at $1,700 after the "friendly" let's work through this became - "there will be no further negotiation on this invoice". Nothing like doing a bad estimate - completing half the original work - not wanting to go over my point-by-point disagreement - and then "ending" the negotiation abruptly. For a company being in existence so long not sure how they get away with bad customer service. Looks like the last couple of reviews in 2022 also are not so positive. Won't be using them in the future for sure. read more

Lee Engineering installed my sprinkler system in 2000. After a particularly windy day, I noticed a spot that wasn't getting much water. They came out a day or so later and added a new head for no charge. That stuck with me. About 6 months ago I had them come out and check on a different sprinkler system. They found and fixed several small leaks and made reasonable suggestions for the near future. Then, I had them come back and quote some drainage issues. The quote was high but so was the amount of work to be done. We broke it down into reasonable chunks of work to see what "might be enough". Never felt like I was being upsold. Never felt pressured to do more than necessary. The initial work has been done and they actually fixed another problem at no additional cost. All that said, I only have this kind of faith in two companies, Lee Engineering and McGaw's Automotive. No other companies have ever given me that kind of quality work consistently for decades now! Also would like to give a nod to Frazier Roofing and Gutters. First time using them but they were fantastic, too! read more

I called to inquire about a french drain installation, sine they are only a few blocks away from my house. Understandably, the lady on the phone told me they do not give estimates over the phone, rather one of their representatives would have to make an appointment to visit the site with me to look at it. AND that there would be a $200 charge for their trouble to do so. I said no thanks. read more

Paid $200 for them to come out and assess my drainage. They didn't put it writing what was wrong. But told me the $200 would be applied to the $30K to fix the problem. Although they never said what the problem was except I needed a French drain. What a waste. read more

Willy from Lee Engineering Company came to my home after the recent rains. I realized that I had a lot of standing water next to my home, and this isn't good for the foundation, or for mosquito season that's about to begin! They say that since we didn't have a hard freeze this winter, that mosquitoes will be bad this year, and with the recent news about the Zika virus, I want to make sure to take care of this. Willy outlined a plan to install a French drain on our property so that the excess water has somewhere to go, and won't remain in a puddle to be a breeding ground for mosquitoes. He explained that getting this standing water away from the foundation is critical to prevent the soil from expanding and having the foundation shift and cause damage to my walls. I'm looking forward to getting this drain installed, and appreciate the honesty and education that Willy provided. read more

I've used Lee a # of times before now and had positive experiences. This time was very different. We set an appointment to replace a valve that was stuck open. The appointment was for between 12PM and 2PM. They showed up @ 4:10 PM. So they left shortly after 6PM. Charged me $768. just over 2 hours work for $768. They ended up changing 2 valves for $310 each and then also charged $95 for a complete evaluation of the system. It's a racket and I won't be using them ever again. I have no problem with companies charging a price for services - but this was just obnoxious. The parts for 2 valve replacements is what - $50. Come on. With that said, I've shared my story with all of my neighbors and we all agree that we will now vote with our wallets and our recommendations. Lee won't be getting any recommendations from here. To finish - here is the really odd part. I received a TEXT SURVEY shortly after they left. I of course rated them as poorly as you could. Yesterday I received another text. They were "thrilled you had such a great experience.............", also asking me to leave a positive review on Google. Not going to be doing that. So end of the day I lost - they won - and I have to choose more wisely next time. read more

Horrible experience. Company said costs would be minimal- no bid given- then submitted a bill more than twice what it should have been per other industry contacts. When disputed- they filed suit amd claimed they spent way more hours than they really did on site - and material costs were also inflated. Stay away from them- they are extremely unethical and dishonest. Learn from my mistake. read more
