I got noodles with the orange chicken and Thai chicken curry. My daughter got the noodles with tofu, orange chicken and some green beans. I asked if the green beans count as a portion. There was barely any in the first place. That's why I asked her if they were making more. I'm happy she didn't consider it as a portion, I would have made her put it back. My daughter literally got 6 green beans and 1 of the 6 was actually a long stem. Needless to say, the food was not worth the money I paid. The noodles were flavorless and so oily. The orange chicken was definitely cooked earlier and had sat for a long time. It had gummy texture from the sauce sitting on the breading for too long. The Thai curry chicken did have good heat to it but the chicken was dry and not rich in curry. Just know there are so many food options in this airport before you make the same mistake and commit to this place. Don't do it. It's Air Canada. This mid-afternoon flight rarely gets cancelled, so I knew that I was good. I did need to grab a late lunch. Where should I go? After I cleared security, I made a right. I normally don't do that. It was time to explore a bit. I saw this Leeann Chin. It's across from the tram that takes you to most C gates. The Chinese restaurant chain has been around for eons. I had never stepped foot in one. It was time. This eatery has a bar. No one was drinking at around 3 pm. It felt like going to a food court to grab some fast food. I had a helpful man as I tried to figure out what protein I wanted. I did know that I wanted a protein with two sides. I got fried rice, bourbon chicken, and garlic soy green beans. I had an iced drink from Caribou Coffee with me, so I didn't need to get a beverage here. I paid with a credit card at the counter. The transaction was smooth. I got my food in a plastic container with a lid and plastic cutlery. I proceeded to find a spot facing the tram station, sit down, and enjoy my food. I like that there are outlets. I charged my phone as I ate. My food cost $12. It was pretty decent for the price. The fried rice was yummy. The bourbon chicken was flavourful and moist. The garlic soy green beans were the star. They were excellent. If I could order a huge bowl of them alone, I'd be in heaven. They were done perfectly. I loved the garlic and soy combination. I'm drooling as I recount how yummy these green beans were. As someone who is sensitive to salty food, I was fine with the sodium in this food. Other reviews have said that the food is overly salty. I did not down a ton of beverages after my meal. I spoke to a male staffer as I went to throw my empty container. He said to throw all my stuff into the garbage, even though there were different places to dispose of your recyclable items. He said that it didn't matter, which was funny and odd. He was friendly. I wished him a great day and went to explore the terminal some more. I'm glad that I checked this place out. It's good westernized Chinese food if you want fast food at a decent price. We ordered a plate with 3 entries: garlic soy string beans, sesame chicken, firecracker shrimps. The rice here is less than the amount that Panda Express gives you. Flavor-wise: -String beans were very salty. If they make it less salty, maybe it'll be more eatable -Sesame chicken and shrimps were decent. The place ambiance and seating is pretty good. Seems to be clean and spacious. Not sure if the bar is still open because no employees were standing in the bar area. Service was definitely not good. They're not rude but not friendly. After my order, they ran out of rice AND noodles. All people behind me had to wait for at least 10 minutes to get their food. Walked up as a party of 3 to no fried rice & one serving of noodles left, the other option was brown rice. We asked how long for the fried rice and were told less than 10min. We opted to wait. Somehow, the fresh fried rice seemed to be about 3 days old & dry as a bone. Worse yet, the bourbon chicken was inedible - like trying to eat a salt lick. To add insult to injury, the gal working the counter was extremely rude. She wouldn't even acknowledge people speaking to her & turned away from them without a word. You won't find five star cuisine at a domestic airport -- but fortunately these days there are more choices and variety than hamburgers and sub sandwiches -- so I was happy to give Leeann Chin a go. Being a first timer, I found both the menu and the process for ordering a tad confusing. Fortunately there was enough of a line ahead of me to figure things out -- but with the line building behind me I still felt a bit rushed when it was time to decide and I think I may have missed something that I would have preferred over what ended up on my plate. The items I selected were heavily breaded, deep fried and coated with sticky sweet sauces -- probably not the healthiest choices -- but the kind of addictive fried food that you can't stop eating even though you know you probably should. But you could do better if you want to or need to -- vegetarians can get a plate featuring ingredients like tofu, brown rice, and assorted veggies (that's what my wife selected). The preparation and flavors were so-so, but at least she avoided meat and fried stuff. As mediocre as the food and service was -- the restaurant fulfilled its purpose for us -- a quick meal that filled us up before our flight departed -- and basically, that's all I expect at an airport. read more

The manager had to come out a one point to help the cashier and he was rude to the employee, I felt bad for the cashier. They have a bar but no one staffing it so even if you wanted a drink you couldn't order one. This is definitely one of the better fast food style places to eat in Terminal One, for a number of reasons: 1) The staff: While there are definitely some fast food outlets in the airport who's workers are fairly ambivilant to the service they are providing, the staff here does a great job making sure everything is just right. The manager, who must work 80 hours per week (he's always there!) is especially friendly and bends over backwards to make sure every guest gets exactly the meal they want. 2) The food: this is a fairly standard Leeann Chin when it comes to the offerings, but for those of you who aren't local, this is basically a Panda Express with a lot more choices. Yes, you can get Orange Chicken here, but you can also get Thai Curry and Korean Gochujang Beef, two items you can't find at that other Asian fusion places. And, also unlike Panda, they usually have every one of their dishes in stock. Finally, they have a lot of dairy-free options, and pretty much all of the dairy free dishes that don't include meat are also vegan. 3) The atmosphere: fairly chill, with a side bar where you can grab beer and mixed drinks, and TVs that are always showing sports. 4) The prices: great for the amount of food you get, especially for an airport...I rarely spend more than $11 for a huge plate of food. 5) The location: very central, right next to the tram station and the south security checkpoint, and steps from the main food court and Terminal D. All in all, this is a great choice for fast food at MSP, especially if you are craving Asian. read more

I am a lifelong Leeann Chin customer, and I was thrilled when Leeann Chin recently opened in MSP. However, I have given this location several opportunities and have left frustrated each and every time. I will no long be returning to this location. During my last experience, I waited 15 minutes for my entree (a VERY common occurrence, in fact some times there have been no meat options available at all), and when it was finally ready, the server poured the chicken into a dirty unclean bowl. But, not until she swatted a string bean out of it and into another bowl of food. The customer in line in front of me turned to her companion and stated, "that is absolutely disgusting." After finally receiving my peking chicken, there was no sauce on half of it. Half of the chicken in my bowl was dry, the pieces were all connected (looked like a clump of ginger), with absolutely no sauce. The employees here are rude and give attitude. I was speaking to a passenger in line who was excited to have Leeann Chin for the first time in several years after moving, and told me afterwards that it was nothing like she remembered. I am so disappointed by this location, additionally I will not be recommending it either. Lastly, every other location has kids meals, I find it rude and cheap of this location not to take kids meal orders. read more
