Hmm......how do I put all this. I think it's all been mentioned already. The chicken is up to Lee's quality. I have never had a problem with all of the visits we've had there. Only once did I have sub-par chicken strips that seemed to have been there for a little while because they were a little chewy and the breading/coating wasn't very crispy. The sides are never really good which is one reason they lose a star on my review. The mac and cheese has always been dry and gross. The green beans are almost always soggy. That sort of thing. Except the coleslaw. That seems to be consistently good. My guess is that they just open the package and keep it all cold as opposed to having hot sides that sit there for a long time. My real issue comes with the service. More often than not the employees always seem short and booooorderline rude. They never seem to be in a good mood save a few times we've been. They are very often difficult to understand at the drive up speaker and things get messed up. A few times I've not gotten everything I asked for and/or gotten the wrong thing. So that definitely merits one point less than a five star. Go and get some food, the chicken is good, but don't expect top notch service and be wise about the sides you get. Just keep in mind that there's a good chance they've been there sitting in the warmer for a very long time. Four stars and I'm being generous not giving them three. read more

The entire front desk staff on the evening shift 09/25/2026 was extremely unprofessional. Vulgar conversation, lots of profanity in front of customers as if we weren't standing in front of them. One of the large vulgar women was off work sitting in the lobby having inappropriate conversation with the staff behind the front counter. If I hadn't already paid I would have walked out. Haven't been to Lee's chicken in many years. Today I came to this location and had a coupon for a 3 piece meal. The lady told me I could get up to 4 meals on one coupon so I got 2 meals. I got the crispy spicy and the oven roasted chicken. DYNAMITE!! The sides and the chicken is so freaking delicious! I also want to say how nice all of the staff were even while being super busy. Lee's may be a chain, but they offer up some good friend chicken. My favorite is their crispy and I always order the Breast Meal. It includes one very large breast, with a biscuit and as my sides I choose mashed potatoes with brown gravy (they give you a choice here) and cole slaw. For a beverage, I always go with their Sweet Iced Tea. It is done in a true Southern style. My advice to you is do not turn your nose up at Lee's because it is a chain. Give them a chance, they do chicken right. This location is always extremely clean and the staff is courteous and friendly. Stopped there 4/19 around 7-8pm, initially pulled up the the drive thru and was yelled at through the intercom on "What did you want??" When I asked for a moment to look over the menu, the worker huffed through the speaker again rushing me to order, shortly after she replied "chicken is going to take 25+ minutes." I really want to know how hard is it to take a simple order? It was later in the evening and maybe 2 people ahead of people ahead of me my auto was real simple how does one f*** that up? Not only did I repeat my order twice and she also read it back to me, she STILL gave me the wrong sh.t. I guess the pademic has made these people slow as f*ck!. Went here with my 3yr old daughter & husband! I give it a 3 because of the friendly cashier, other than that it would be a 2! The crispy+spicy checken is WONDERFUL, its moist with a little bit of a kick! The Green Beans are the best side item, seasoned perfectly! Stay away fromt the mashed potatoes, no flavor! I am borderline embarrassed to be writing this review for a fast food fried chicken place. I tend to pride myself on the fact that I eat healthy and don't eat fried food. However, I have caved a time or two... And when I do--- it's all because of Lee's! I am from the deep, Deep South (think: Honey Boo Booland) where everyone knows how to fry up chicken (egg, buttermilk, flour, salt and pepper). I had never heard of Lee's before moving to Missouri-- but let me tell you, they do their chicken right! The prices are very reasonable and I am always impressed by the quality of workers. My wife and I went to pick up chicken dinners at Lee's Chicken on South Kingshighway tonight. First time in years since we have been there, and now I don't know why we waited so long. The facility was clean, freshly painted, they waited on us the minute we walked in. And as it should be, the food was great. Called the South Kingshighway location in St Louis three times no answer, left message asking if they were open no return call Called other store and they said all locations were open ( it was July 4th), lady was very polite and professional. I Drove to the location where i normally receive friendly, professional service and I noticed the Large main "Lees sign" light wasn't turned on, so i mentioned it nicely to the lady that asked to take my order. She told me I was wrong and that the "menu" lights were on or something to that effect. So i politely mentioned that I meant the large Lees sign to which to again told me I was wrong (immediately sounding aggravated with me) and asked " Did you want to place an order" ? So I ordered the 10 piece dark meat special spicy and as I placed my order she couldn't seem to get it right at first and each time i needed to repeat myself by the sound of her voice she was just getting angrier. I work with the public ( and I also used to work for Lees) and i'm well aware of how to de-escalate a situation but this lady just seemed to be having at minimum, a really bad day or possibly she shouldn't work with the public, as it doesn't seem to be her thing. When I pulled up to the window I asked (again nicely) if they were short handed or extra busy today and she said "no" and asked why i was asking. I told her that i had called three times and left a message and got no response. I was matter of fact the whole time. at the end I asked her name. When I got home I noticed that I didn't get the spicy 10 pc that I ordered but instead got a 10 piece famous. If I didn't know the owner and his high standards and was just another customer, I would have likely seem this situation differently. Because everything about this experience told me that Lees didn't want my business as they couldn't answer their phone/return a call, didn't have their lights on, treated me rudely when offered a helpful suggestion and acted angrily towards me when I did nothing but try to place an order. And to top it off, they got the order wrong! Well I love Lee's so I decided to stop and try this location. The employees were very nice and got my food ready very quickly. But I got home to find the smallest leg I have ever seen in my family's box and the chicken was a little on the soggy side. (Photo posted) Unfortunately this turned me off this location. This place is slow , always out of something, oven rosted chicken, soaked in Grease, luke warm, takes forever to order food in drive through. Even when not busy. LAZY STUPID inconsiderate ass wipes . Last order the box was so soaked with oil, the OVEN ROSTED chicken, if not for a plastic bag chickes would of fell through. Prices are very high I can eat a sirloin steak cheaper. This used to be a good chicken place. Not anymore. I have heard stories that workers use the bathroom and don't wash their hands. I have entered the bathroom after the worker just walked out. It's fast food chicken. BUT it's the best fast food chicken! I admit I am stuck on a cycle of eating the chicken strips. They are bigger in size and flavor than any competitor I have tried. The fried okra is very good as is the corn. Add a few of those salty biscuits and you have an awesome meal! The staff at this location are so very, very helpful. Had 3 blind people order chicken and other sundry to dine in and they were so very patient with reading the menu and helping bring drinks and plates to the table. It did not freak them out that there were many questions and they went above and beyond what they needed to do.
