I absolutely love their food. I use to live in Raleigh, NC and came to visit for a friend's bday. I lived here when they first opened up. They started at the Supper Club in raleigh. Years later the food is still top tier! Still the same setup, service still great, nothing much has changed and I love it. I wish I could go back now and order more but that's a long plane ride! I'm missing the food already. Happy to see them still going!

Pork Chops

Pork chops were okay. They were over fried. No as well seasoned as I would've thought since it's a Jamaican restaurant. Nice portion sizes. One side comes with two pork chops which wasn't mentioned on the uber eats app so I ordered two and got four pork chops.

9/12/21: It's our first time here. We were trying a few different items. I was personally craving candied yams & there was no other place around. The restaurant is very small. Only about 3 people can go in at a time. More could get in if there wasn't someone selling unrelated items to everyone that walked in the door. The service was ok. The food was another story. The pork chop was a nice size, but it tasted sour like it was going bad before they fried it. The yams weren't as sweet as I like, but my family loved them along with the Mac'n'cheese. The pound cake was dense & bland. We paid a lot to not be satisfied. I don't plan to go back, but my family probably will.

Jerk Chicken Macaroni & Cheese Plantains

Amazing food, they have a food truck that we ate at in down town. I got the spicy jerk chicken with plantains and Mac. The ambiance of the truck was southern Jamaican and local. The service was very friendly and incredibly fast.

Turkey Wings (smothered) with white rice and Mac n cheese

Since they're only letting 4 people in the restaurant at a time during corona it seems like every time I drove by this place there was a line. But since Lee's Kitchen is so known and popular in Raleigh and I've never had it, I had to give it a try anyways. Let me start off by saying ubereats and the Lee's Kitchen app both miss a lot of menu items (turkey wings, beef patties, etc.) so if what you want is on there you're lucky but we weren't able to order ahead because of this. The food is really delicious, decent prices, big portions, and hot food. We got turkey wings, white rice, rice and peas, veggies, oxtails, and Mac n cheese. We enjoyed all of it and finished our plates! The veggies is pretty much just cabbage and the Mac is super good. You can get the turkey wings baked, grilled, fried, smothered, etc. but they said the two most popular were smothered and fried so we did smothered. The only complaint we had was that the turkey wing plate didn't have a lot of rice (we thought there'd be more under the wings but it was just that corner.) I'd definitely come back here and get the same thing or try the curry goat. They also have a large variety of different fruit juices and drinks! I definitely see why everyone likes this place.

This place has some really authentic and good Jamaican food with just the right amount of Soul Food in it. One of the best Jamaica food spots I have had, tasted like it came straight from Jamaica.

Brown Stew Chicken

Oh man.. if you've been in the Raleigh area for a while - good chances are you've heard about Lee's Kitchen. I've known of this spot for years, but finally tried it for the first time today - my only regret is not coming sooner! I got the curry chicken with rice and beans and Mac n cheese. Perfectly seasoned, great portions for the price ($8.95 lunch tray) ... I thoroughly enjoyed this meal. Boyfriend got the brown stew - something he said is also really good! No indoor seating available, take out only.

Over cooked Corn Bread

This place is expensive for the portion size. Mix between soul food and jamican seasoning (I'm guessing that's why it's so dark, I have no idea) But I can't lie the food is good. The service is a 1! Employees aren't professional or friendly nor do they make your order when you call ahead IF they don't have it off the hook. I've had other jamican restaurants in the city & theirs still tastes the best, unfortunately. So I suck it up when I need my fix lol hopefully it gets better.

One star is being generous. We ordered oxtails and received beef stew chunks of beef that were tough and extremely salty. More disgraceful than the food was the service and the price! They will never get another dime of my money. The place once had good food at a decent price but it definitely changed. Don't waste your time or money.

On Wednesday's they were doing all gluten-free menu and it was amazing...no crazy unreasonable upcharges, just honest menu pricing and great food. As of this review they are the #2 most reviewed place in Raleigh only behind the Pit. When we went last week for a farewell dinner it took us 3 weeks to get in. We got turned away 2 other times. The place was always packed and busy yet cozy and calm with great service. Hopefully they relocate or put some of the items from the menu at Pooles. Fuquay could use a nice place like this and it would be way cheaper than Raleigh! Best of luck to the staff in the future as they all look for work.

I understand as if you aren't seated when they open, you can expect a 90-minute to two-hour wait. I was hoping to get the Chicken Pot Pie this time and thought my prior visit was just off. I was thrilled that most of the menu was available. They were just out of the banana pudding. So I got to try the pecan wings I read about with the white sauce. It was so good. Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh. The salad was made correctly, and the dressing was included. The salad was full of veggies, and the cake was rich and moist. Service was friendly and as soon as I finished my iced tea, another appeared. My wings were brought out first and it was a while for the rest of the meal as the restaurant was full. But they didn't rush me at all. I actually liked the space between the dishes, as I might not have been able to eat it all otherwise. I couldn't finish both biscuits and was even provided a container for the honey. I am going to miss Beasley's, but I'm glad I got a positive experience to remember the restaurant.

As someone who grew up in the South and now lives in Miami, I have pretty high standards when it comes to chicken and waffles. The chicken was disappointingly dry and lacked seasoning, while the waffle tasted more like something pre-made and reheated than freshly prepared. The syrup didn't help matters either, tasting more like a heavily processed corn syrup product than real maple syrup. The loaded tater tots were the stronger of the two dishes. The tots themselves were impressively crunchy, and the toppings were generous. The pimento cheese added richness, while the red and green onions brought some welcome freshness and balance. Even so, the dish felt a bit dry overall and never quite rose above average. The bright spot was the service. Everyone was friendly, the food came out quickly. With so many great places to eat in Raleigh, this ended up feeling like a missed opportunity and, for me, wasn't the best use of valuable stomach space on a short visit to the city.

He didn't share the Mac and cheese. Neither of us cared for the baked beans. I had the brisket, Brussel sprouts and potato salad. The brisket was tender and flavorful. Awesome. The potato salad was ok but I didn't care for the Brussel sprouts . I would try two different sides next time. A basket of hush puppies and biscuits came as well. Sweet, salty, buttery chaos in the best way. For the main, I went with the pork chop and greens. The chop leaned a little overcooked for me personally, but the sauce helped bring things back together and added good flavor. The greens had a nice little kick of heat, but I kept waiting for that deep smoky ham hock flavor to show up like an old Southern grandma entering the kitchen... and it never quite arrived. I took a seat at the outdoor bar and started with some smoked wings. 5 whole wings, so really 10 wings at most places. Meat was juicy enough, maybe I was hoping for more of a dry rub though. I used the tangy BBQ sauce and sweet BBQ sauce on them, and they certainly enhanced the flavor. I usually like mustard based sauces, but theirs was little more peppery than I wanted Then, per the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the brisket melt sandwich, and it was the undisputed highlight of the meal Muenster cheese, thinly sliced white onion, pickle chips, and a good load of horseradish sauce. The brisket had an amazing flavor, and all the other toppings came together beautifully. But that Union bakery bun is just another level. It's like brioche, it was so soft, but somehow a little more substantial. For my side dish, I went with the sweet potatoes with goat cheese, pepitas, and agave. This was just ok. For me, the potatoes could have been cooked longer, a little more crispness would have really helped. I did think the goat cheese was a unique flavor with a milder ingredient like a sweet potato, but it did work with the other ingredients pretty well. Only one unisex bathroom and it's small, so be warned!
