    Omelet, hash browns

I had quite the delicious and speedy breakfast here prior to a conference at the convention center and had the kindest service! Location is great right near the convention center. It's connected to I believe the Marriott but the food was very good! I got an omelet and hash browns and black coffee, pretty basic. Service was quick! Loved my omelet and the hasbrowns were cooked to perfection. Ambiance is very hotel restaurant like, but I was there for breakfast so wasn't looking for anything fancy for breakfast. I can imagine it would feel quite upscale at night. I wish I would've caught my wait staffs names as they were so accommodating!

I was caught off guard with how good my rib sandwich was. We walked in and the place is massive and super clean but no one was there. We were the only people sitting down to eat which was weird because it was 6 o'clock. So that was concerning but the menu looked good so we stayed. The staff was friendly but service was a little slow. Especially considering we were alone there. The rib sandwich just melts in your mouth. I would have liked it to be bigger but it wasn't too expensive so I was happy with it. The potato's on the side were decent but could have been cooked a little longer since the inside was hard.

We stayed at this hotel and the menu looked amazing so we had to try it. The ambiance is amazing and relaxing. The food is even better. We didn't have anything we didn't like. The service was a little slow but nothing horrible. Definitely a great choice!

I have only dined in at Rye for lunch and dinner but they also serve breakfast. On this most recent visit I met my husband here for lunch and we had a good experience. It was the chicken and dumplings with a side of mac and cheese with a beer for me and the catfish plate with brussel sprouts and mac and cheese for him (this was the Friday special). We both enjoyed our meals. My only complaint is that I wanted more dumplings in my entree.

I was staying over at the Marriott hotel and came down to pick up some food. On my first visit I came down after check in. The bar area was filled with people. They staff told me they were no longer serving lunch and it was too early for dinner. I had to order from the bar food menu. I ordered the Rye Burger which came with bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and fries. It was very large and packed with flavor. The fries were the highlight with the seasonings they used. The meal was very good. I wish I had a bigger tray as everything started slipping down and falling all over. It was great regardless. The second time I came down here was for check out. It was about 12pm so I was hoping to get some brunch. The staff informed me they were no longer serving breakfast. They only had the lunch menu available. I should have gone over to the Starbucks down the hall but I was already sitting down and decided to order the Hickory Chicken Sandwich. It was a grilled chicken breast, mustard barbeque, applewood smoked ham, jack cheese lettuce, tomato, red onions, and a pickle. This sandwich was underwhelming. I did not enjoy it. It felt very bland. I should have sticked with my original idea and go to Starbucks for a breakfast meal. Maybe on a different day it would have been good but today it was not.

Veggie Burger and seasoned crinkle fries

I arrived late to my hotel, so seeing most places close at 9 pm turned this place into my dinner to-go spot. Even though I was staying at the hotel, I couldn't confirm if the Marriott's room service was offered via Rye because when I tried calling the restaurant (used the number on Yelp), they didn't answer the phone. I could have called front desk, but it wasn't that important. I walked downstairs to order at the bar. I ordered the veggie burger. The menu didn't describe the patty, but it sounded good.. turns out it's a Beyond (or Impossible? My bet is Beyond) Patty. A veggie burger is the incorrect name and I knew right away by the smell of the take out bag upon dropping it off to me that it couldn't be a true veggie burger. Regardless, the smoked gouda and mushrooms is what sounded good. The patty was cooked to a burnt crisp, so it was like a real charbroiled burger and the mushrooms were cooked nicley. It was a to-go order, and there was no sauce description on the menu, so I'm curious.. would all the condiment packets been provided if I dined in? Because it needed a condiment, desperately. I layered the mayo, ketchup, and mustard and it tasted better. The bread was nicely toasted, but no sauce! Add it yo self! The fries are seasoned crinkle fries.

I try to avoid restaurants in hotels but would have missed a gem had I done so. I'm here with a large conference and was afraid the wait would be long. To my surprise, I was seated quickly. I did have to wait and ask for my server but the lady I asked wasn't my server and still took my order! I ordered salmon and double Brussels sprouts and OMG! Both were amazing. I wanted to know what each had been cooked in but I'm sure it was something I didn't need or need to know. The salmon was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The Brussels sprouts had a really nice savory taste. So I stand corrected. Restaurants in hotels can be pretty good, actually great. Let's see what some wings will be like tonight. And you can guess that I'm getting Brussels sprouts again!

Ordered room service so I could continue working on a project. The server who took my phone order and delivered my dinner was super nice and very outgoing. My order arrived at my room piping hot and ready for consumption. The salmon was nicely seasoned and tasted great. The carrots were definitely al dente, which was fine but the potatoes were really charred (decremented a star on the review). I'd still recommend the dish, maybe pick some different vegetables Update: Dined in the restaurant for breakfast. The food was delicious and my server, Donna, was awesome managing several tables and customers all by herself while being super sweet and attentive. I enjoyed the "Eggs Your Way" with a side of rye toast and a yogurt parfait. Highly recommend.

I ordered the crab cake and shrimp and grits. The crab cake was very bland no flavor at all. However it had a nice crisp. The sauce was not a good mix. The shrimp and grits was decent, very bland. The blackened shrimp was good. However the meal it was ok. I wasn't impressed. A associate of mines order the shrimp and crab hush puppies. It was not good. Very nice staff and service was good considering it was so busy.

We started with 3 dozen Daily Happy Oysters, which at $9 per half dozen. The Southern Salt oysters were incredibly briny. I don't mind a salty oyster, but these crossed into overwhelmingly salty territory and masked some of the nuanced flavors I usually look for. The snacks, however, were absolutely spot on. The Crawfish Hushpuppies arrived piping hot with a crisp exterior and tender center, loaded with crawfish flavor. The Crispy Frog Legs were equally impressive--perfectly fried, wonderfully seasoned with tom yum spice and vadouvan, and paired with a Vietnamese mayo that tied everything together beautifully. To wash it all down, we enjoyed a few beers, including a crisp pilsner, a refreshing wheat beer, and a local IPA that paired nicely with the oysters and fried snacks. Service deserves a special mention. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. They kept the oyster trays moving and made sure drinks never sat empty for long. Overall, St. Roch delivers a fun oyster bar experience with happy hour pricing, creative snacks, and top-notch service. If the Southern Salt oysters had been a little more balanced, this would have easily been a 5-star visit.

We sat outside this day, as the weather was mild and there wasn't any available seats inside. We ordered a fried combo and a grilled combo. TrySeafood does a lot of things right. Portion size was fairly generous. We especially love the fact they serve cleaned jumbo shrimp. Food was cooked well, shrimp was tender as was scallops. The broccoli was not tender crisp nor mushy. The potatoes and corn were delicious. While service was friendly, it was a bit slow. Also, I'm not an Old Bay fan. The grilled shrimp were seasoned with Old Bay. While the fish was crispy, I prefer a cornmeal dredge to a flour dredge. Finally, (and this could have been a me thing) the tip percentage on the screen doesn't align with the math. I intended to tip 15% - which is standard especially considering slow service. That should have been approx $8 and when I got home I realized it was approximately $16. You're not given a printed receipt and if you're in a rush and going through the process quickly it's easy to miss. Again I may have missed something, but I'm pretty sure I selected the %15 option. Additionally, I've seen other restaurants that have intentionally include this practice. Would I go again, sure. I'd request a different seasoning blend or a light seasoning and check that math! Recently, we have found ourselves trying not to enjoy just our go-to favorites that are mainstays on the ever-evolving menu. We have been blown away by the flavors of the large plate option called Chicken Pimientos. Don't let the name throw you, because it's not super spicy, it just has a nice kick to it with delicious potatoes accompanying the very moist and flavorful chicken. The way the kitchen team at Barcelona handles the preparation of the eggplant caponata is impressive and very unique. Other favorites on the tapas section of the menu recently are stuffed piquillos, corn zucchini bunuelos (think fair food turned healthy!), Wagyu carpaccio, lamb kofta, and pulpo gallego.
