What happened?? My husband and I used to go to Lee's Kitchen on a regular basis when we lived in Montgomery County. 5 years ago we moved to Howard County so we don't get there much any more. We happened to be in the neighborhood a few days ago and decided to stop by for dinner. The won-ton soup was like dishwater, very bland. The fried won-tons were bordering on rancid, as if the oil was a bit overdue for a change, or maybe they were just stale. The spring roll was as tasty remembered. We ordered beef with mixed vegetables, a favorite, and it, too, was very bland. The vegetables consisted mainly of mushrooms. We were greatly disappointed and may not return again. read more

Thie place had been around for years. The taste hasn't changed over the years and this place serves one of the best Chinese foods in the area. The food is not OILY and/or too salty. All the other Chinese restaurants I've eaten in the area makes me feel bloated and leaves an oily taste in my mouth. Don't have change to taste their food, but they gave me the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in my life. We (2 seniors, 1 little kid) waited for around 40 minutes without being served any entries. We just sat there waiting and waiting in hungry and watching others who come later than us eat before us. We asked them could they please be faster, but they just avoid speaking or facing to us. We felt been neglected and bullied, so we left without eating. They didn't even give a sincere apology, and one servant shouted at us when we complain. They only give excuses that the phone orders make them busy. But are we their customers deserve the "first come first serve"? We felt been discriminated and may consult a lawyer. read more

A great place for family- great food and great for the wallet! Carry-out is very convenient but we love to dine in too. Favorites are Malaysian Noodles and Shanghai Shrimp. Shanghai shrimp is a pungent sauce with a little kick of spice! Yummy!! Appetizer: try the Spicy tangy won tons or the BBQ ribs! They are fantastic! Lunche specials are a great value. I have been eating Mr. Lee's Chinese food for 22 years, since his restaurant was a small takeout place. The food is always fresh, delicious, tasty, and wonderful! The staff is friendly and attentive. Mr. Lee always comes out of the kitchen to say hello whenever we come in. We have always been pleased with the food and service - either takeout or dine in - it's always fresh, hot and reasonably priced. My family measures all other Chinese food by Mr. Lee's standards. We have NEVER found another Chinese restaurant that compares to his food, service, and friendly staff. The dining area is homey but elegant and clean with white linen tablecloths and napkins. I've eaten at Lee's plenty of times in the past when it was owned by Mr. Lee himself. The food was exceptional back then, very high quality and when the people who worked there actually cared about the food. My fiancee and I were on the way home this past week and were fairly hungry. I told her about Lee's and she agreed to give it a try. When we arrived there was only one couple there (it was around 8:15pm though) and we were seated immediately. As we looked through the menu, I noticed that the temperature in the restaurant feel cooler than normal so i had to put my coat on. My fiancee got a new dinner called Fishermans Catch in a Birds Nest and I got my usual, General Tso's chicken. I could only finish a small part of my dinner because of the lateness of the day where my fiancee was able to finish at least half of hers. Well, we actually had to wait at least 15 minutes until we saw our waiter to ask for the check. We paid and left. ----------- The next day was totally different. Evidently there was something wrong with the food because BOTH OF US were nauseous very badly but my fiancee was worse than I was. She had to take some special medicine that she normally takes and that took all day and some of the next to get rid of. It took me the majority of the day to get rid of whatever I had in my food. I also threw away the food that we brought back from Lee's. I didn't want to take the chance of getting sick again. In short, DO NOT EAT AT LEE'S KITCHEN. They don't seem to care about the quality of their food or their customers any longer. If it was up to me, I would call the Health Department to see what they put in their food. read more

I recently tried this spot again and was delighted. The pan-fried dumplings are wonderful, good mix of filling to dough. Overall, the food was much better than my previous visit. This time we ordered honey sesame beef and half a Peking duck. Both were lovely, although I've had better pancakes at other restaurants. They are generous with the hoisin sauce, which I appreciate. Flavorless, oily. First walked in a few weeks ago intending on Chinese and saw they had Pad Thai and tried that instead. Heavy, bland pile of noodles -- pad with no Thai. I blamed myself for ordering this at a Chinese restaurant. Tonight I tried the Chinese food. Kung Pao, Sezchuan, Hunan were all awful. First time I can recall when I threw out leftovers from a Chinese restaurant. I'll never go again. read more

the foos is no good we went a second time to give it another chance. the Orange chicken is dry. the lo mein is average. the orange beef was ok. the rangoons are awful. it's just fake crab and had no cheese or spices like other places. hollywood east cafe in wheaton, md is the best ever. read more

This is all you can ask for in a Chinese restaurant. The menu is varied, the food is good, the service is and atmosphere is excellent! The spareribs, shrimp dishes, beef and chicken dishes are good. There is enough variety for all! I would recommend for any night of the week. A great family gathering place. read more

I've been going to lees since I was a child, and whenever I visit family in Maryland I most often go out of my way to stop in for morengo delight and spicy tangy wontons. I have never been able to find the sauces in either of these dishes anywhere else, they are delicious! Mai is one of the owners (pretty sure), and she is so sweet and though it's been ten years since I was a regular she greets me by name every time I go in. My sweetie and I are going to try to figure out the recipe, I would love to be able to make it at home up in philly! read more
