I have gone there many times. As a child it was a special treat for my family to go there. I always got the almond fried chicken. Recently I went to 2 lunch buffets. I like it here. I just walked in after getting my hair cut to watch the rest if the Netherlands vs Costa Rica World Cup game. Cool Desert Nights, Friday evening, June 23, 2017, only a few thousand people in attendance around Uptown Plaza, so management decided to staff the place really well with one bartender in the front of the restaurant with the help of one runner/expediter (he might have been one of the part time kitchen help). Our party sat down and we were totally ignored, not even a peripheral eyeball from the two staff running around. There was basically no one around to ask for service or be upset with as the only two staff were out of sight or running around. So we got up and left and they lost some good business. read more

I visited this as someone on business looking for a place to just hang out on a Wednesday evening. I felt very unwelcome by the bartender. She did get me a drink right away, but then when I asked if I could get $10 in pull tabs, she rudely stated that it's a minimum of $20. I don't carry cash usually and I had just purchased a beer, but I came up with $19. She said "no, it must be at least $20." I was confused because I've never heard of a limit for pull tabs, and I can't fathom why a business would turn away $19 because it's not $20. So I asked her if it was a state law that would restrict the sale. She was pretty aggressive in her response that, "no it's a boss thing, I am not allowed to sell under $20 in pull tabs after a certain time." Even though I feel like the bartender could have been more friendly about the situation, I question why this policy would be in place. I sat there at the bar for two hours enjoying the karaoke; she didn't sell a single pull tab while I was there. I was planning to have more than the one beer, and I always generously tip good service, but not this time. I did tip a couple dollars because she probably saved me $19 in pull tab losses, but that is not the service I requested! read more

I read a positive review of this place in the local "Taste of" mag. I thought: Chinese food. How bad could it be? Eh. Now I know. My husband considers it not great, but not bad. I think he's being too generous. We each had the combination special; lo mein, General Tso's chicken, fried prawns, soup. The soup was NOT hot, nor was it an egg drop soup or miso or hot and sour, or anything you'd expect with a typical American Chinese meal ... cream of chicken, I think it was. The portion of General Tso's chicken was minuscule. Supposedly it came in varying degrees of heat; although there was little to tell between my husband's medium and my mild. The lo mein was tasteless. The sweet and sour dipping sauce for the prawns was almost certainly out of a bottle. There was nobody else in the place on this Friday evening. Not surprised. The Lounge seemed to be doing fair business though. I hate having wasted a perfectly good dining-out opportunity. Still looking for a decent Chinese place close to home... read more

If I could give it zero I would. Just finished eating dinner here and it was basically inedible. I usually LOVE pork fried rice, it's my fav. So I ordered it from this dive asking minus the veggies. Get home and open the box ready to get my grub on and there is green onion everywhere, starving so I plate up and pick through it. The pork was flavorless except for the burnt to a crisp bits, it was terrible, I wanted to cry. So I move on to my sweet and sour chicken. Gag! The chicken is nice and crispy but it tasted like over used old shrimpy oil. Tried to drown the chicken in the sauce to save it and it was still a no go. Mom had some Egg Fu Yung and said it was bland and threw most of it away. Even though through an online deal I got $25 worth of food for $15 it wasn't worth it. If you go here, go for the drinks, DON'T go for chinese food unless you would rather throw your money away. read more

The food here was interestingly tasty in a fatty, salty, greasy, MSG-saturated kind of way, and I paid for it in swollen hands and thirst that lasted the rest of the night. Eating here was kind of like eating at KFC. I knew my triglycerides and LDL were going to shoot sky high and I knew I was going get a stomach ache, gas or heartburn later, but there I was continuing to take bites. Should be no stars!!! Last night went there with my family. It was the first and last time I ever go in there. The food was the most horrible food we have ever ate anywhere in the world. We left almost all of it on the table paid and left. I took a little bit for my dog and she ate a few bites and walked away. It was that gross. The customer service is horrible. We ordered a family meal for two but we had our son with us and usually chinese food is huge servings so we always share. We weren't offered tea and had to ask for it. Then we asked for another cup cause we were given 2 and there were 3 of us. The waitress told us she would have to charge us cause we had only ordered the dinner for two. We were brought the smallest plates like appetizer plates instead of dinner plates. The bathroom was disgusting as well. I know that this place is know for its stiff drinks according to reading other yelp reviews and that is why people keep them in business. I would not recommend this place ever. read more
