Buffalo calamari and stuffed artichoke hearts
    Elayne W.

A casual pub with good food. The standouts for us were the buffalo calamari and stuffed artichoke hearts. We thought the clam pizza was good but just ok - was more like cheesy bread with clams on it. Also note this place is CASH ONLY!

Cute neighborhood bar with standard bar food which is pretty good. Lots of tv's for the sports enthusiasts. They are known for their white clam pie but I was in a mood for sauce. You're able to get half red and half white. I have to say the white was def better. The red sauce on the other half was a little overbearing. Buffalo calamari. Was very good but super spicy! Scungilli with medium sauce was very good but served with sliced Italian bread and not a biscuit Salad was very good. Good service. A parking lot across the street.

Came here on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't so busy. We ordered a regular calamari and a buffalo calamari and many bar pies with various toppings. The calamari here are fantastic! Soft and not chewy at all. The buffalo calamari is delicious!! We really enjoyed everything we ordered. The pizza were thin crust, so perfectly crunchy and flavorful!

Very nose small bar with great energy. I like to pick up pizza from there. Claim pie is my favorite. And can't mention this- their prices is the most fair. Large Pie with half sausage was only $14.50

I ordered a ceasar salad I didn't ask for black olives or red onion. They gave me old brown lettuce. I waited over 15 mins for a disaster.

I ordered a Caesar salad and received whatever they decided to give me. salad cost $14.75 for old lettuce and toppings that don't belong inaceasar salad. . Very disappointed in the quality of the place. Never will eat here again

This corner Italian bar & grill is the cat's pajamas for old time New York neighborhood watering hole dive bars on Staten Island. Third generation, the bar room is darkly lit with tintype ceiling and wood/mirrored back bar. It has atmosphere up the wazoo! Even better, their thin crust pizza is terrific and well worth the drive from Bucks County, PA, as the dinner stop after exploration of local beaches and Fort Wadsworth. Their signature White Clam Pie is terrific. Crisp crust. Mild clam flavor mixed with melted mozza was surprisingly delicious for this first timer. Our pie was half regular tomato/cheese, which was a great counterpoint to the diced clams. We also ordered a half platter of Fried Calamari with medium spice red dipping sauce. Very nice as an appetizer. Service was provided by family and friends of the owners. At the end we met Momma Lee, who described the fifty plus years of close family involvement in the enterprise. It felt so cozy that we thought of hanging around longer to absorb more of whatever Lee's Tavern was putting out. But, they needed to turnover tables for folks waiting by the front door, so we paid and told ourselves we would be back for more. 5 Generational Stars

The best bar in Staten Island! Delicious pizza, hot scungillie. Staff are very welcoming making you feel welcome

Gotta trust any place that still has a pay phone

As a native son of the Isle of Staten, County of Richmond, this is in my top two for the area. It's thin, but not too thin, the sauce is deliciously fresh, and the sauce to cheese ratio is perfect for my liking. The regular food is good too, the sandwiches in particular. I also recommend the fried calamari. It's crisp and fresh, and the dipping sauce is thick enough that it isn't your normal marinara, so it doesn't just slide off into oblivion. Where this spot really wins out is the FEEL. The ambiance, the service, the people, and the area lack any pretension whatsoever. When you show up more than once, they remember you, your kids names, and where you went to High School. Prices are super reasonable, and the location near the train is super convenient. Cash only (as all the legit spots in these parts are). Prepare accordingly. ATM in the back if you don't, so no worries.

Best pizza on Staten Island hands down. Always a classic, have been going there for over a decade. Pizza is thin crust and delectable everytime. My favorite is the white clam pie. All of their pizzas are amazing. A must get appetizer is the buffalo calamari!!! Very hospitable, all of the family is welcome here. Lee's never disappoints and quality has remained the same over the years.

Lees tavern is the BEST little hidden spot. The clam pie is amazing- they are well known for it. This restaurant is extremely affordable. The Buffalo calamari appetizer is also amazing. Cheap prices and FYI- CASH ONLY!!!! The service is great I have always had a great experience here. Highly recommended

Cute neighborhood bar, known for the white crab pizza. The pizza is made fresh and has a nice thin crust. I had the white clam and it was a great choice, not fishy, just a nice clam flavor. My boyfriend had the chicken and hot pepper pizza, he really enjoyed it. I love the bar sized pizza, it's a perfect sized personal pan. We started with the Buffalo calamari, ehhh it was good bar food, nothing extraordinary. I like this place for what it is, it's my second time here and I would go back. If you're a local, it's definitely a nice casual pizza/bar option.

Zero complaints. Pizza is arguably one of the better spots on the island. And the buffalo calamari is incredible.

We ordered the Forest Ave roast beef sandwich and the fried shrimp appetizer with bang bang sauce. The shrimp had a nice crunch, and the bang bang sauce was good, but its flavor was a bit mild and plain; some garnish like chives can definitely elevate this appetizer further! Our sandwich unfortunately came without the bacon jam and maple bourbon, which meant it was just roast beef double dunked with Gruyère cheese. Unfortunately we didn't realize it until near the end, and although our waitress apologized and brought us a side of the bacon jam, by then we only had a quarter of it left which was a bummer. The roast beef was perfectly cooked and the gravy was rich and deliciously beefy, but the extra Au jus was a bit pricy for how little it was, where it came in the same small plastic sauce container instead of a small bowl/ceramic. I'm sure this doesn't happen often that half the sandwich ingredients were left out, so I guess we were just unlucky we didn't realize sooner, but it nonetheless detracted from our experience and we were charged the full price for the meal. Overall The Point Tavern has a lot of potential of being amazing and serve probably the best roast beef in all of Staten Island; I really wish them the best with their varied roast beef selections! Please give them a try and just check your sandwich before digging into it! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

What's the secret at the Point Tavern in Staten Island? They keep things simple! This review is based on my visit this past Saturday Evening - 21 June 2025. Bartender Mike is a true Mensch, if that's even possible, in a place like Staten Island, but he was truly a gem and kept the drinks flowing. This is truly a neighborhood watering hole that is frequented by many, including some friendly and beautiful teachers from the local school across the way. You are struck with an immediate vibe of friendliness and happiness, and visitors to the Point Tavern are truly treated like family. My great friend, "Uncle Anthony," and I enjoyed ourselves sitting and relaxing at the bar. There was a wide selection of draft beers on tap, and the mixed drinks were delicious. Confession: I made the "Shlep" to investigate this "Suspicious" Roast Beef Sandwich. My suspicions were confirmed--amazing, Juicy, Tender, and savory. Sandwiches are made to order and tailored to the customer's likely preferences. The kitchen got it right on the first shot and got me my "Kosher" Roast Beef Sandwich. Trust me, its worth the visit. My roots to S.I. don't go back that far, but my grandparents are buried there in an old overgrown Jewish cemetery nearby. The atmosphere is all dark wood and black metal ceilings. The decor approaches medieval. So, if you're into such historicism, just sitting in the dining room or barroom can be quite compelling. It was for me. The food is also very good. Starting with a special flute of Lenderman's Framboise sour beer, we shared the Warsaw Pierogi appetizer (6 large discs filled with smooth mashed potato & cheese mix and covered in translucent sweet onions), and a lunch portion of Jagerschnitzel with Hunter's Sauce (two large pork fillets breaded and pan fried and topped with a delicious brown gravy, sliced lightly fried potatoes, steamed veggies & a sharp steak knife). My companion wanted a German Chocolate Cake dessert, which was an excellent choice to share. Our server was friendly and attentive. We couldn't finish our lunch and I took half to schnitzel home. Walking out, we checked out the beer garden where a few families were gathered on this mid-September Saturday afternoon. Although small, it was a simple attractive backyard with tables and large umbrellas with plenty of trees for shade and breeze. Four point five Stars.
