I would give this place a solid 4.5 stars, if I could. To be honest, I was a little hesitant when I first sat down. The menus weren't in Korean, the spoon choices were odd, there was no purple rice, and we were served green cabbage kimchi. HOWEVER, this place completely won us over: 5/5 - Beef Soon Tofu: The broth was rich yet light? Sometimes soon tofu can be heavy or oily. That wasn't the case here. The broth was flavorful, the tofu was silky and milky, and the meat was tender. 4.5/5 - Rice: I've never reviewed rice before, but I felt compelled to this time. Since we ordered the soon tofu, our rice came out in a sizzling clay pot. The rice quality was unexpectedly amazing. Each grain perfectly chewy with a slightly sweet aftertaste. I usually don't finish the rice, but I ended up eating the entire bowl. Docking half a point only because no one came by to help scrape up the leftover crispy bits at the bottom of the pot, but the portions I did get were incredible. 5/5 - Cold Noodles: **SLEEPER HIT**. I didn't know what to expect (again, I was hesitant about this place), but this was the breakout star of the meal. The broth was icy, refreshing, and served with actual ice cubes. The toppings were crisp and generous, and best of all...they added apple slices! Everything was so juicy and refreshing that my partner and I ended up splitting the bowl. I honestly might come back just for the cold noodles. 3.5/5 - Banchan: There's something distinctly rustic about their banchan. Everything tasted fresh, and even the green cabbage kimchi that initially threw us off was surprisingly good. The weakest banchan was probably the fish cakes, which felt a little waterlogged. That said, the main dishes ( the cold noodles and soon tofu) were the true stars of the meal. 4/5 - Kalbi: Solid, standard kalbi. The meat was tender and not too greasy. Interesting choice to serve it on green cabbage, but honestly, we ended up not hating it. 5/5 - Service: Surprisingly attentive and friendly service from both the male server and older female server. --- Overall, there's something very rustic and homey about this place. While some choices seemed a bit unusual (looking at you, green cabbage kimchi), it's clear that everything is made fresh and in-house. If there ever were a waitressing edition of the Iron Chef, this lady would win it even before the competition showed up. I was simply awestruck by her abilities. She was the frontline of the restaurant all by herself. Faced with a constant stream of customers and outgoing orders, she handled everything with aplomb. Seating new customers and distributing the correct number of placemats on the table, taking orders, bringing out water and the side dishes, carrying boiling hot tofu soup filled to the brim, surveying and refilling dishes that were running low, preparing the check, summoning the busboy to clear the tables, signing for deliveries, taking pictures of the patrons and encouraging them to smile better--all these were accomplished with a smile on her own face. She was literally jogging from one table to the next without missing a beat. If she retires from waitressing, she could easily become a charge nurse in a busy ER, and we haven't even gotten to the food yet. The tofu pot was flavorful and boiling hot. The clay pot rice was perfectly done--not too toasted on the outside but the crispy outer layer had a nice smoky taste characteristic of the rice cooked this way. It's always a satisfying endeavor to scrape the toasted rice from the side of the pot. The rice at the center of the bowl was fluffy and fragrant. The sides dishes did not wait to be outshined by the main attraction. Each held its own and kept the customers' taste buds entertained. my family dined for dinner ordered the short rib/ galbi, 2 orders of beef bibimbap with tofu soup. Over all, the soup and bibimbap is okay but galbi was hard and thinly sliced. Our server was rude too that night we were seated by the door and requested for the door to be closed due to the cold wind but she refused because we ordered bibimbaps and would smell like smoke/food. They won't give you EGG when you order soon tofu unless you ask for it but they never let us know that we need to Ask for it. OMG they want to save the business a few cent on egg and be that stingy. We got the seafood soon tofu and the galbitang. You can customize the level of spicy for the soon tofu, which is great for someone who can't handle spicy. They also ask you beforehand if it's okay to have the egg cracked inside. The beef galbitang was delicious as well. The beef was so tender and fell right off the bone. Service here was 100%. Our waitress was fast, so friendly and checked in on us often. My boyfriend and I loooove eating the side dishes and she brought over more whenever she noticed we were running low! This restaurant was super clean and was the perfect comfort food vibes. I will definitely be back for more next time. It was good and it came with a lot of sides. My husband ordered a birria medium spicy tofu. Which came with the bulging I combo. The bulging I was sweet and yummy. There was a decent amount of it but i wish the pieces were bigger. He said the tofu was too spicy for him but he still liked it. The service was great and fast. Stumbled upon Lee's Tofu for lunch and it was the best decision! I got the spicy pork combo w/ soon tofu and the portion was more than enough for 1 person. They also offer "birria beef soon tofu" which they just added 2 weeks before I came. It really had the taste of birria tacos, highly recommend trying. If you are looking for the mean ahjumma experience, go here. Must be new owners. The tip off was the new American style spoons and the smaller portion kalbi on a big bed of cabbage. So disappointed with the unwelcoming service we received. We have been going to this Lee's tofu for many years as a favorite meeting place. I drove over an hour to get there. Now, there is a lady that is so rude. She rolls her eyes if you ask for both tea and water. She said that we could only have one or the other in a rude tone. My young niece was afraid to ask for anything since they were reprimanded. I paid over $38 a person for a scary dinner. She charged me 18% service fee (5 people) and didn't mention it, so I overpaid with a second tip. The rudeness was almost comical. We tried to laugh it off and said this is the last time we will be coming here. So sad! read more

The food is good dont get me wrong, but I've never been waited by such Rude women in my life. They close at 10pm, we showed up at 9:30pm and they still sat us without a problem. When they finally come to take our order they tell us to hurry! So we order quickly and as soon as the food gets there's (maybe 15 min later) they start knocking on the table we're dining on to make us hurry. They start yelling, "Time to pay!" " we're Closing!" So they throw the bill at us and say, "pay!!" The second we pay, they start yelling for us to leave. Let me remind you that we are super embarrassed by whats happening. And the cherry on top was they insisted we pay them a TIP!! when we left NO tip on the bill because of their service the older waitress started yelling that we MUST TIP! We just left and never again. Lee's tofu was a family favorite, we used to go every sunday but hadn't been back in a while. (you can probably find my review i posted here a couple years ago-- it was great.) I don't know if they changed ownership, management, whatever but we went today and it was horrible. The lady at the front was not rude to us, but she was rude to her employee (a young latino boy) she was rushing him, yelling at him, snapping her fingers at him. poor boy looked so confused due to the language barrier between them. you do not treat your employee/coworkers like that! Extremely disrespectful. Now onto the service, the employees before (a young gentleman and young girl) were always so kind and attentive. they would check in on us always and refill or banchan every so often. this lady just took our order, delivered the food, brought us the bill and that's it. Did not bother to stop by once in a while. I did not think she deserved a tip... but as we were leaving-- already at the door, she stopped me and demanded a 15% tip. I felt embarrassed to be stopped and had no choice but to give the tip. It's not that i'm cheap, but tips are NOT mandatory and you get tips based on your service. she did not check in on us, and hearing her yell at the employee really made the atmosphere extremely uncomfortable in there. it's a shame. we will not be back! read more

Lee's Tofu is my favorite place to get Korean tofu soup. You can also buy large sides of their ban chan which is awesome, because my boyfriend and I will buy a large kimchi and eat it with all our meals on the side. A probiotic, so great for your stomach! Their service is good, even though sometimes there can be a language barrier, they always do their best to make sure they get your order right. And the food is just good. I wish it was a little cheaper, but the times we live in don't really allow for lower prices so not their fault. read more

Came to order takeout on a weekday night and will say that we waited quite a bit for our food, 30 minutes, but the wait was worth it because the food was pretty good. We ordered the Combination Soon Tofu in Mild and it was pretty good. Lots of different kinds of meats like beef, clams, and shrimp and it wasn't too spicy. I will say that the portion sizes are pretty big compared to other similar locations. They also give banchan on the side and my favorite one is definitely the pickled spicy cucumbers. They are on the slightly "sour" side which I like, and crunchy too! I think if I come next time I will order the tofu soup in a medium, the mild wasn't spicy enough for me personally. read more
