We've used Legacy Plumbing before, and this job is a good example of why we keep going back. As part of a larger renovation we needed to relocate an existing natural gas valve at our fireplace and rebuild the under-sink piping to accommodate a new sink and a moved garbage disposal. Craig was our contact, with Nick assisting. During the quote, Craig laid out the options and told me honestly where each one would and wouldn't get me. He never talked down to me, and he also didn't just nod along to whatever I proposed in order to write a bigger invoice. He was clear that a gas line relocation is partly unknown until you open the wall, and rather than hiding that, he pointed to the exact line on the quote where a change would appear. While he was there for the estimate he also fixed a toilet issue in our master bath that had nothing to do with the job and had been annoying us for months. He arrived right in the middle of the scheduled window on work day. Once he could see inside how the wall was actually framed, he helped us change the target slightly so we got the outcome we wanted with less demolition and less money. When he realized he was missing a less common part for the sink rebuild, he found the part nearby, left, and came back quickly. The work is high quality. No leaks anywhere. Everything was left clean. He took the time to show us how to operate and adjust what he installed, especially the new gas valve. I had issues with my kitchen sink backed up - I tried to remediate it myself but the clog was too bad for me to do without help. I called Legacy Plumbing and they got someone out to me the next day. Luis was my technician and was professional and extremely friendly. He not only fixed the clog but also was able to replace some parts to my sink which were old and not working well. The price was very reasonable for the work and the issue was fixed with efficiency and care. If you're lucky to live long enough, and you live in the same home for several years, you'll encounter lots of problems with fixtures that you might take for granted. Generally, I'm a do-it-yourselfer and don't rely on someone else to repair stuff unless it's major, like jacking the foundation. I've replaced the water shutoff valve to my house twice. Not the one at the water meter (which belongs to the city), but the one in the ground just outside our front door. And, yes, they do wear out. Deposits build up on the inside and rust takes it's toll on parts on the outside. One of the fittings started leaking just a little, possibly due to the Texas snowmageddon a few months ago. Doesn't take long for a drip to turn into a trickle, so the time came for a fix. Digging in our sticky clay soil is a real chore and I've reached that point where I'll let someone else take over this task. After plenty of research, we decided that Legacy Plumbing was our best choice for the job. Alex and Tyler showed up on time and ready to get their hands dirty. After confirming the quote that we were given over the phone, they were obviously ready to get started. We were impressed at how friendly and thoughtful they were, explaining what they planned to do and answering our questions. Then, they dug up and replaced the valve and back filled it in about an hour. They left the area so clean that you wouldn't know that they've been here. I've got a good friend who's a plumber and he isn't as nice to me as Alex and Tyler! I mentioned that rust causes valve failures. My new one is a 1" stainless ball valve. Even the handle is stainless, so no rust problem. Bottom line: the bill was very reasonable, the work was professional and we're very satisfied. read more

Unlike many contractors Wayne did an excellent of keeping me informed about what he was doing and why such as telling me to flush the toliet some addifional times. He also was sympathetic to my wife and I being older and our medical conditions. Wayne also told me I could save money by getting the Legacy Plumbing Gold Plan annual membership which I did. Legacy Plumbing, more specifically Joey Wong-Vermillion solved our issue that three other Plumbing contractors couldn't. We had a very smelly drain in our shower. We tried everything to clean it. It seemed every 45 to 60 days it would reappear and this has gone on for a couple of years. We're thinking of remodeling the bath and we wanted this problem fixed before we put money into a remodel. Frustrated, I called a total of 4 different plumbers as I wanted to ensure someone could fix this. Plumber #1 simply told me to add more bleach to the drain when I cleaned it. Plumber #2 wanted to "power wash" the drain for $140. Plumber #3 wanted to power wash the drain for $860 (yes $860). Plumber #4 was Legacy Plumbing. Joey and his assistant JaMichael came out and carefully listened to our situation. Joey immediately told us he didn't think it was our drain, rather the weep holes in the shower door frame. Sure enough, he opened up the clogged weep holes (that we didn't even know existed) and cleaned out the stenchy water that was trapped in the shower door frame. It was unbelievable! Everything smells a whole lot better, and it was less than $200. I'm so glad I called Legacy Plumbing, and so thankful that Joey understood and resolved our issue. THE BEST PLUMBERS IN THE KNOWN UNIVERSE. I called with a problem that seemed difficult for other companies, impossible for some, and the great company known as Legacy Plumbing sent out not only great plumbers but also great men, Kelly and Henry. These guys were incredible. Not only does Kelly take you under his wing and give you the best advice learned in his 30+ year career, he also answered painlessly my millions of questions (yep, I'm that guy, the annoying DIY'er who asks how everything works and how to do everything). They didn't just tolerate me and my questions but welcomed me like family. Honestly, it was such a pleasure hanging out with them that I can't even imagine what off the clock is like. They made work - hard and incredibly tough work - fun and enjoyable (or at least for me the bystander! Haha.) If you're thinking about booking these guys (and of course you are if you're reading this), just do it. If you don't understand something? Just ask. They are passionate about what they do and care a great deal about both YOU as a person and show it through caring for YOUR PLUMBING. There's nobody better than Kelly, and Henry is well on his way as his apprentice. I can't say enough good things about these guys, they were simply incredible, thoughtful, hardworking, and fun, (even hilarious at times), which made something that was super difficult look fun and easy. One way or another, these guys will solve your problems or die trying. The bigger and harder the problem the more "interesting" it is and more of a "fun challenge" for these guys to solve. You want guys like these in your corner when you have issues, that's for sure! Backstory: My gas riser pipe for my spa heater rusted out and developed a leak about 7 years ago. I had difficulty finding a repair back then (just like now), so I gave up. I turned the gas off running to it (fortunately I had a valve for it) and dug down to uncover the part that needed to be replaced and discovered it was a polyethylene line (mine is orange, they changed to yellow in the 80's, but, just like Kelly said, it's basically the same pipe designed to the same specifications). I called several companies which gave mixed responses, but when I called Legacy Plumbing they found a master plumber familiar with gas to discuss it with me further and he immediately understood, and then he sent an experienced veteran like Kelly out who knew exactly what was going on. For these guys it really was no big deal, and within minutes of Kelly being onsite for the estimate he was able to piece together a plan to repair using the existing pipe. This was the solution I preferred anyway, and it worked out as well as it could. His care of people and his years of experience really shine, as he gives you options and listens to your thoughts instead of taking a "one size fits all" approach - he truly is an artist working the many variables of the problem to find and recommend the best solutions for your specific issues. The bottom line is that I trust Legacy Plumbing as a company and if it were an option (I know it isn't :)) I would give Kelly and Henry the keys to the house and turn them loose while at work, that's how much I trust them. Let's be honest though, I could never do that because I'm way too nosy and like to learn too much, and these guys are simply too enjoyable to miss hanging out with. Mike and Jake did great handling our big job in Plano in March, when we decided to replace our cast iron pipes after getting tired of dealing with recurring problems due to leaks and tree roots.
