FALSE PROMISES AND IMMATURITY I called Michael this Tuesday discussing how worried I was about another plumber costing me too much due to their being recommended by a foundation company. I described the situation and he agreed that a scam could be possible and he said he'd show up on Thursday at 9am. I felt so at ease after talking to him, however 9am a guy showed up who didn't know what he was even there for who wasn't Michael, telling us Michael himself had forgotten what he was requested for. So the guy left, I called Michael again after some hours, asking him what he could do, since he had promised he'd fix the situation on Thursday. Over the phone he was incredibly considerate, apologized for the guy not helping, said he'd come over later and asked us to send what the other plumbing company had sent. We covered the quoted price from the other plumbing company and he accused us of not trusting him? Then pulled back and wasted our time since we had taken off of work for him that day. Nothing was fixed, incredibly reassuring over the phone, if he could have just shown up as well as he talked we would have been happy. Just felt he was inconsiderate, then accused us of lying? They have run gas from our fireplace to our kitchen so I could have a gas stove and have reset a commode for us when the remodel contractor did not set it correctly after two attempts. We previously used Michael's plumbing on 2 occasions and had a great experience but this changed dramatically with our most recent (3rd) interaction last month. We had a very simple repair completed on our outside faucet that was leaking slightly when used and were were charged the same amount as an emergency visit last year when we had a broken pipe and a flooded house and had agreed to pay a premium for an emergency visit. They were at our house almost immediately. Cost was approximately $270 which was fair. For the simple repair last month, which literally took 15 minutes, we were charged the same amount as the emergency visit. We asked for a breakdown of the charges thinking there was a mistake. The owner refused to provide a breakdown and said this was their minimum charge. No give, discussion, or attempt to explain. I am floored. read more

Initially used Michael's Master Plumbing in October 0f 2023. Had a water heater that was working fine but it was entering the "I wonder when it will go out" phase. Knowing when it happens I would be seeing water coming through the ceiling and no doubt it would be during a holiday with house full of guest. Checked the reviews and called Michael. They quoted a price, gave me a date and time they could do it. What a pleasant surpize when they showed up on the date and time they said they would; did great job installing and cleaning up; price was as they had quoted. This week had an outside faucet that would not shut off. Called Michael's they again quoted a price, a time and date. Did work as stated at the price they stated. I do not recommend Michael's Master Plumbing!!! I had a leak in the main waterline going to my house. I followed the recommendations on this page and called Michael's. Well it's several months later and the concrete patch across my driveway they filled after the repair was completed, is now sinking. I contacted Michael's and he informed me that he came out to look at it, talked to his concrete contractor and concluded it was my driveway causing the problem and not the repair. While he said there is rebar in it and I'm sure there is, the repair wasn't tied into the existing driveway. Now the patch is sinking and cracking. I reached out to Michael's to get the permit number and inspectors name and he won't answer me. He won't meet with me. He won't respond to me at all. He said it was inspected by the city, so what's the problem? Needless to say I will be having to get this replaced soon before I have more issues with the driveway. It's probably not worth it to go after him in court, so I'm writing this on this page so others might be aware and cautious of using this vendor. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. Michael's Master Plumbing never fixed this problem nor did they ever stand up for their contractors work. I had a friend in highway construction help me fix it at my own cost, and it turns out that the contractor Michael's Master Plumbing used did not set the cross pieces of rebar connected to the rest of the driveway in far enough. They set them in less than 3/4 inch on each side. My friend told me that it was just enough to fool an inspector, but not enough to support the concrete in the driveway. It was a crap job that Michael's Master Plumbing subcontracted and when there was an issue, they were not ready to accept responsibility and ran away. I don't know about you but standing behind your work and being responsible is what should be expected. Again don't use this company or you may be sorry like I was. read more

We were in the process of selling our home and the inspector said he thought he could smell gas. We found out at 7 PM and I quickly called Michael's Master Plumbing at 8:00 PM. Within 30 minutes, Michael had responded letting us know they would be there the next day at lunch time. Michael's guys showed up on time and were quickly able to identify that there was no gas leak. I was incredibly grateful and impressed by the quick service and professionalism they all exhibited. Not only that, but they would not accept any payment for their time, no matter how much I tried. Absolutely horrible and frustrating experience. Spoke with Michael over the phone a week ago and explained i wanted to get two leaky faucets fixed, install a new water filter under kitchen sink, and install a new water heater. He asked me to txt him some faucet pictures and he would txt me an estimate. I received the txt with the estimate but when I tried to call him back to book a date, my calls mysteriously/suddenly went to his voicemail. I sent him a couple of txt messages but no reply. I tried calling the following day at different times but same problem - my call goes straight to voicemail. I called from a different phone number and he picked up instantly. I brushed off the initial red flag and booked an appointment. Txted him my address and asked for a confirmation. He Ignored subsequent txt messages and voicemails for things as simple as scheduling and confirming the appointment is still on schedule. The day of the appointment he was a no-show and company wasted my entire day. When I called to find out what was going on, my call continued to mysteriously/suddenly go to voicemail. When he finally responded (apparently I had to call from yet a different phone number that he didn't recognize), he responded instantly and said he would call me back in 10min to confirm the new scheduling. Never called back. If you don't want someone's business or discriminate against people because of their perceived ethnicity from their voice over the phone or any other irrational dimension that you can glean from talking 5 minutes to someone over the phone (really sad mindset for this day and age), at least just say you're not interested in their business or say you're too busy or whatever - no need to waste people's time. Their unprofessionalism has now delayed my plumbing repairs by at least one week. read more

Following my initial review the business owner sent a reply that included the following verbatim: "Michael's Master Plumbing Response from the owner This was a mis-communication issue on our end which we apologize for / a customer who would leave a negative review without talking to us is our good fortune as to his weak personality..." The remainder was cutoff and i couldn't read it. This is no way to run a business. What the owner leaves out is that after he hung up on me I immediately called back and left a voice mail complaining about what happened and requesting that somebody call me back or else I would post a negative review. No one called back. This morning my wife called attempting to smooth things over and the owner denied the facts about what happened and complained that I posted a negative review. Then I called and left a voice mail stating it was silly to prolong this unfortunate misunderstanding and that if he called me back I would edit the review to be 5 stars just based on the previous outstanding work he had done for us. Instead of calling me (i.e. a loyal returning customer) back and accepting the olive branch I had offered, he instead sends a reply personally insulting me. I will refrain from posting a personal insult of my own as a reply. Instead I will let the owner's actions speak for themselves. I called Michael's to see if he could fix my kitchen faucet. We talked and he told me to pick out a new faucet and he would be able to install. I realized I did not need a new faucet but could order the parts needed for the repair. He told me to take a picture of my faucet and the parts and text him once they arrived. I sent the text and received no response. I called him the next day and he said he would go back to the office and check out my pictures and call me back within the hour. These guys are the best plumbers around. When you call and talk to Michael he will always take the time to listen to your issue and explain over the phone what the problem probably is. Then, he'll tell you how you could do it yourself and tell you everything you'd need. Basically giving you the choice and the knowledge of how you could do it yourself or letting you know how much it would cost for them to do it. Their prices are fair, and the quality of their work is great. I had a water pipe burst between the house and the street, got my toilets replaced with them, and some other minor work done with them. I've actually called Michael's Master Plumbing twice, and both experiences were great. We've gone through other plumbers before but Michael's is the best. Honest, friendly, and on time. Pricing is also very fair. The first time we worked with the company was when we had a backed up water line, which came at the worst time as we were expecting visitors that day. We called early in the morning and they came within an hour. The job took the entire day as digging and replacing were involved, on top of it being in the middle of August. They did the job well and we've haven't had problems since. The most recent service we've had was an issue with our kitchen sink. Again, they visited on the same day we called and fixed the issue in less than an hour. Overall, we were very pleased with their work. On top of that, these guys were super friendly and nice to talk to, honest and clear about the job being done, and pricing was fair. I will only go to these guys for plumbing jobs for my house. We chose Michael's as we felt like they walked us through our options and guaranteed that they would be a phone call away if we ever needed anything. We loved the professionalism when we had them put in and could have given them 5 stars just for that but as many now the recent weather tested us all and we had an issue with one of the water heaters. They came right out and although a part had to be ordered Philip made sure we had a set up for the time being.
