Tried this place the other night. Started off with a trip to the salad bar. They offer fake bacon bits (bleh) but the salad bar was clean and the lettuce and other veg were fresh. My visit was right before they closed up the salad bar for the night so props for it being so fresh and tidy. As for the pizza, I liked it, and I'm not big into pizza. It arrived hot and exactly as ordered. The meats and veggie on the pizza tasted fresh, just the right amount of sauce. I'd give this place 5 stars, but my boyfriend who is a bigger fan of pizza thought it was good but nothing to write home about. First time visit. Didn't know what to expect. Not sure what others recently had but damn my pizza was good. Ordered a small legend and small knockout. The legend was the better of the two. Didn't have to wait too long for it. Looked good tasted good. I've had pizza all across the states and all I can say is the legend was pretty good. Decent size for small. Two of us finished both small pizzas though finishing the last couple slices was getting hard to do in one sitting for just two of us. It was plenty enough. We decided to order take out here for the first Sunday football game this season, and my oh my!! What a great choice that was! Other than waiting on hold just to be hung up on (I hope on accident) to then call back and say, "hi I would like to place an order..." just to be hung up on again () finally the third time I got through and was able to place an order. NOTE!! If delivery is wanted/needed they only use a third party (Grubhub, Ubdereats etc.) they only do phone orders for pick-up. Anyways, we ordered a large The Legend (no bell peppers and substituted fresh tomatoes) and an order of a dozen hot chicken wings. Both were reallllllly good! I love that the parmesan cheese is the fresh grated kind not the processed powder kind that you get other places. The crust was nice and fluffy, yet crunchy and held up to the toppings it had on it. The wings were so good too! They do them in the pizza oven so some piece got a very nice char on them and the spicy (buffalo) sauce was delicious.. not too much vinegar and not too much spice. I really like the pizza and wings here so we will definitely recommend it and also we will be back to try some other of the specialty pizza they have. They allow you to place your order via phone so that it's ready by the time you arrive. I thought that was cool! Definitely a timesaver! The food was pretty decent. It was simple pizza, and was pretty tasty. The portions are pretty big so I had left overs to bring home. One pizza was enough for 2 meals for me. I don't have any major complaints about this place. Last night we were looking for an in between thickness pizza and came across Legends. We always pass by this place, but never bother coming in. When we came inside the restaurant, it was empty. We went to the counter and ordered a medium half And half The Babe and The Legend. It was a bit on the pricey side but it was worth it. The crust was crispy, the flavors are good. This pizza is really great, it had a nice crispy and fluffy crust with our favorite toppings. It wasn't too greasy even with pepperoni as one of our toppings. The man who helped us was super friendly, I think he was the owner of the place. We came right around the time they were opening and it was our first time. I came to Legends pizza because my boyfriend would constantly tell me about how amazing it was. His boss buys the staff this pizza every Saturday and he would always brag about how good it was. SETTING: Newly decked out interior, granite tops, bright lights. Photos of athletes along the wall. Your modern day sports bar pizza parlor rolled into one. FOOD: Tried the "Comeback Kid" since we were in the mood for something light. Light as in, not loaded with meat from each animal aboard Noah's Arc. "Comeback kid" is pretty much the closest to a Margarita pizza here. Fresh tomatoes (important!), basil, roasted garlic, sprinkled with parmesan cheese, and olive oil. Surprisingly really good. This is a thin crust type pizza. Although a bit oily (presumable from the olive oil) it had a lot of flavor. I'm not usually one for vegetarian, but this one was a solid choice. SERVICE: Ordered to go, so just went for pickup. IMPRESSIONS: Not a bad pizza. Will try the other offerings. I do miss McHart's Pizza (the previous tenant here) because it was a mom and pop that had been here FOREVER, but was probably driven out by increased rent prices. RIP McHart's Pizza! Tried this place for the first time with lots of expectations as it had so many good reviews. My experience with their pizza has been very bad. I ordered a thin crust pesto sauce pizza with a few generic toppings. There were so so many issues with the pizza that I couldnt fathom how someone can ruin a pizza. The first problem was that the pizza crust tasted so artificial as if it was made from a frozen dough. Did not feel fresh at all. The shape of the pizza was perfect round with sharp corners and it did not feel like it was handmade. Secondly all the toppings on the pizza were RAW. How can anyone eat raw onions, garlic or anything else on the pizza I dont understand. Thirdly the amount of sauce on the pizza was so less that it didnt taste of pesto sauce which i was so looking forward to eat. At the same time the amount of toppings was too much that the whole pizza felt so unbalanced and disproportionate. All in all the pizza was very bland and unappetizing even in appearance. The McHart's owner, Robert, participated in the opening of Legends, and indeed it seems like a worthy follow-on to his pizza legacy. I had a thin-crust sausage pizza there on Saturday night, and it was quite enjoyable. My wife also enjoyed it. In-store tables, as well as outside tables are available. It looks like lunch-time service includes pizza-by-the-slice. 2016-06-19 Thanks to Karrie, who made me realize that my use of the word "opening" above could be confusing. In English, it refers to both the months-long process of getting the restaurant open as well as to the initial first few days of business. I had meant the former, not the latter. I've now have a number of pizzas from Legends, some thin-crust, some thick-crust (the default, if you don't request). At McHarts, my wife's favorite was the thick-crust. Our party of four stopped by prior to a movie across the street. Service was especially professional and friendly for a pizza joint! The staff ensured we had utensils, cheese, and napkins! Our two large pizzas and chicken wings came out in under 15 minutes. Their crust is on the thicker side by default, but I heard after the fact that they are happy to do thin crust and even gluten free crust. The pizzas were classic and tasty-- gooey cheese, rich tomato sauce, and fresh toppings! The wings were average, but tasted less processed than wing restaurants nearby. While their pricing is steep, the excellent, prompt service, clean and modern interior, and tasty pizza makes Legends a hit! read more
