Very much enjoyed our dinner at Legends. I was soo happy to see that they offered seared Duck breast! It's very tough to find places that serve this dish. It was perfect and super flavorful. The desert was delicious we had the amaretto layered cake. Hubby had the fried catfish and said it was a little dry hence why I have rated this place 4 stars. The atmosphere was warm and fancy. But not snobby. Great restaurant with amazing food. Came to Legends for lunch with a few coworkers and we were very impressed. A very friendly staff greeted us and seated us right away during the lunch hour. Good food and a very good service. It's a 20 to 30 dollars per person place and you need to know that going into it. The food is not "super doper" fine dining, but its good and very satisfying. Treated myself to a night out. My drink and waiter, Jeff, were awesome. Jeff was the perfect combination of attentiveness without being a nuisance! My filet was good but not the best I have ever had. I was so disappointed! Walked in to an awesome atmosphere complete with candles and fresh cut flowers on the tables. However, the food was so not good. I travel a great deal for work so I eat in a good many restaurants and I will not be recommending this one. The salad bar looked great, but everything I got off of it tasted stale. This restaurant is remarkably consistent. The food is excellent, and the service is as good as any fine dining restaurant in New Orleans. The wait staff is experienced and choreographed. LOVE this place!!!!! I've been multiple times for brunch in have not been for any other meal as of yet. I get a mimosa, salad bar, and lobster bennie. It's AMAZING! I've been a Norman resident for years and have heard countless raves about Legend's but had never gotten around to trying it. When my mom visited this past weekend my fiance and I thought we would take her to Sunday brunch at this Norman "institution". Unfortunately, my experience left me wondering what all the good reviews were about. We made a reservation for 12:30 and were seated just a few minutes after we arrived. Unfortunately, that was where prompt service ended. Once at our table we waited a good 10-15 minutes before we were even acknowledged by our server, who seemed annoyed at having to serve us and too busy to even read us the specials. We ordered mimosas and glasses of water and waited for what seemed like forever as we watched our server chatting with another server in the back. Finally when another employee brought out our bread, I mentioned that we still had not received any water (at this point we had been seated about 20 minutes) and asked if he could retrieve our server. A few minutes later our server reappeared by our table and "apologized" for our wait, saying that he had heard we'd been complaining about him and making it seem that we were being ridiculous and difficult for expecting waters to take less than 20 minutes. We then placed our order and waited another half hour or so. We all had the salad bar which was good but nothing to write home about. We also received one small piece of bread each and when that was gone no more was offered. Our entrees, once they finally arrived were just so-so. We will most likely go somewhere else for brunch from now on. read more

The Legends Restaurant is more of an upscale restaurant that has become one of my favorites. The previous reviewer talked of their great desserts and I second that. They have many delicious items on their menu. Their salad bar is one of the best. Their fish tacos and their chicken crepes are fantastic. Service is always excellent. The restaurant is older, but very clean. I think it is pretty, but I can see where the previous reviewer would say that it might need updating. This restaurant is one of the few these days where it is quiet enough to have a conversation. That is becoming rarer and rarer! It is definitely worth checking out! read more

Stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday. First visit. Drinks were great. Salad bar was old fashioned and fun. Stuff was fresh and tasty. Service was exceptional and then dinner came. I ordered the honey chicken and it was not breaded in panko and drenched in sauce so not crispy. Rice was unseasoned. Veggie needed S&P. Guest ordered the rib eye pork chop and more than 1/3rd was inedible due to grizzle. More than half was fat. She didn't say anything at first, but when server cleared plates she noted the food left there and got the manager. He said it is to be expected to have fat with a rib cut. Hmmm...when I went to culinary school we didn't serve it that way and in the last 30 years I've not seen grizzle called fat. So we skipped dessert and paid our check. The whole check. Was in town visiting family and decided to take them out to eat, Read good reviews and thought this would be a good place to eat, I couldn't have been more wrong. Although the staff was nice everting else was terrible the building itself was hot in some places and cold In others and it seemed to be was past time for a remodel. The atmosphere seemed like it was meant to be a spoof of an actually nice restaurant. The guy who I learned from my family was the owner seemed grumpy and all the staff tried to avoid him, it was awkward how long he would hover over tables and seemed to have no real role besides sitting at the bar. And Don't even get me started on the food, I got the Ribeye and at first sight was excited, however after that first bite I realized what a mistake this place was, the meat wasn't necessarily cooked that bad it just tasted as if it was a really cheap steak that had sat in a freezer for too long. Visited Legends with my family on a Saturday. The burgers were tasty, served on a toasted bun with fresh lettuce and all the sides. Try the tomato dill soup on a cold day. Salad bar was fresh, with lots of very flavorful sides to add on. The potato salad was amazing. Portions were medium-sized, but you won't leave hungry. It has small pieces of sausage that you would find on a frozen pizza. They said world famouse salad bar. There was nothing world famouse about it. It was so basic. Way too pricey and not worth it. I have a friend that worked there a few years ago who says they microwave their crepes, crab cakes,calimari, and make their quiche a week ahead so it is just stored for a week before they serve it. Though I do say it is a unique atmosphere and has been in Norman since the 70's I think that it is overrated. I used to love going in for the salad bar because I thought it was fresh until my friend told me when he worked there that they just store all the salad stuff in there walk in over night. I honestly do not care to give my hard earned money to an establishment that doesn't even value their customers or employees. Servers are by law suppose to get 2.13 an hour plus tips but sometimes my friend would get a paycheck of $0 even though he worked 25 hours that week, how is that possible or legal? There food might be fancier or more upscale such as the delicious salmon or searing duck but knowing all these facts about the establishment and how they are running their company I cannot respect them and will never give them my business again. read more
