I was excited to see this place open in the town I grew up in. it pleases me to see these old historical buildings repurposed and restored rather than torn down. Walking into the entrance I was surprised to see a market with all kinds of wonderful looking products for sale. Wine, beer, cider, salsa, brandy, dried tomatoes, and much more. We looked around for a bit then went into the dining area. There was a nice mural painted on one of the walls and the upper half of the remaining walls were made of the old glass brick with curved corners....I love seeing that. Unfortunately the first thing that struck me was how loud it was in this room. All this hard surfaces reflected and reinforced all the sounds. There were quite a few people there, including a table full of adults that hadn't learned to use their indoor voices yet! The waitress came right over and apologized for the noise, they were aware of the problem and were in the process of correcting the problem (remember, this place just opened). We ordered a beer flight, a brandy flight (since i was curious about brandy) and some food. The group of loud people left and the noise level dropped dramatically (Yay). The drinks, along with chips and salsa were brought out right away. The salsa was really good, but not at all spicy even though it was supposed to be. BEERS: I ordered a flight of 4 and selected styles that both the wife and enjoy. Cherry Wheat - Pretty drinkable, not the best I've ever had but very good for a new brewery. Hefeweizen - Very strong lemon elememt for some reason, no hints of banana or clove like is normal in a hefeweizen. Blond Lefty - Again, an unusual flavor that does not normally appear in this style of beer. Did they put apple in this because that's what I thought I tasted? Raspberry Porter - Ok a fruit flavored beer on purpose. It was ok, a bit too tart and the raspberry pretty much overpowered the beer. I'd give the beers a C+ overall. Need improvement. BRANDY: I don't drink brandy normally, but gave it a shot. The apple and apple aged in oak were not too bad, the other 2 were undrinkable...sorry. FOOD: We both had brisket sandwiches, pork for me and beef for her. Both were excellent as was the beer cheese soup. The mac & cheese was ok as well. CIDER!!!!! A+++ Here's their strong suit. Perry Pear was my absolute favorite. I really like pear cider anyway and this was one of the best. All of the other apple ciders were great too. Crisp and full of flavor, the 3 apples ciders clearly reflected the type of apples they were made from. Service was good other than we didn't have silverware and napkins at the table which she corrected and apologies for. We went back up front to the store, but were disappointed to find they were out of some of the ciders. Turns out this was a actually a good thing as the clerk told us we could visit the farm and buy some there. Oh cool, I hadn't been there before. It was just a short drive down US 12 to the U-pick farm. Picked up the ciders we wanted along with some amazing fruit. I recommend visiting both places. Hope the beers get better. My husband and I were excited to try this place. The beer was very tasty (I ordered the Milshaje Stout), my husband ordered a flight and was happy with all of his choices (Aged Scotch Ale, Belgium dark, German Dark lager, and the HoneyCrisp cider). I then ordered the apple fizz which was not fizzy but flat. For dinner I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich and it was subpar. It was clearly a frozen party that was reheated. I also got the brussel sprouts which were rubbery and cold. My husband had the brisket sandwich and he said it was good however his sprouts were also cold and rubbery. I think if we came again I'd try the pizza or brisket nachos. The waitress was very nice and we had quality service. She was very knowledgeable. Stopped at Lehman's while camping with our 2 dachshunds. We sat on the second patio all by ourselves with no one else around. I went in to order and stood at the bar 10 minutes, just as I was about to leave someone finally came to take my order. I have been watching this new IPA pub slowly come to life..they serve pizza, and different sandwiches..They are always coming up with new IPA Beers, Brandy and Hard Cider..they've had some great activities..music and brain games that challenge. Someone had a hair in their food and still gave this place 5 stars. That must be the only reason they have a moderate rating. Service was like chickens with their heads cut off (with a half full dining room at best). Beer was beyond atrocious. Oktoberfest was infected (for non-beer drinkers, that means the brewer has no clue what he is doing or at least didn't recognize his mistake - beer that is supposed to be a malt forward lager was sour). Bartender put clean glasses face down on a dirty bar before pouring a flight. Cherry wine smells like a chemical cleaning bucket. What else can I say? Oh yeah pint glasses up to the light have clear lip stains, etc. Don't waste your time. read more

Went here for a family get together with friends. The atmosphere is very good and the staff was very friendly. They have the biggest selection of hard ciders I have ever seen. We had a diverse group so some got wine, hard cider, or beer. They have beer, wine and cider flights. So it's a great way to sample and try new tastes. My wife wasn't sure which wine she would like so our server brought her a sample of some to taste before she ordered. I had the kale and quinoa salad with chopped brisket and a beer flight. My wife had the fish tacos. Both were very good. They also have a nice gift shop area were you can by the beer, wine and cider. All the food is locally sourced which is a great plus. I had shopped at their orchard on Portage highway before. But this was the first time going to the restaurant. Very nice place, great for food, drink, and hanging out with friends. I will definitely be back. Probably going to do the refillable growler thing. read more

He ordered a coke.. it had ZERO carbonation & she said "when I'm busy I get it from over there.. let me get it from the good one." * I ordered a beer, it was room temp warm.. would have tasted amazing if it was COLD. * We ordered the quinoa kale brisket Korean bbq salad & a burger. She ran off.. * My salad had no quinoa, no cheese, no dressing.. * My husbands burger came burnt black with nothing on it & no side. Meanwhile, my husband and my son had no refills... * We asked for what we were missing and she brought my husband all the wrong stuff again lol. * Then told him "we don't even have pickles. I thought you would have known that burger came with pickle relish." -- it had NO RELISH! * They apologized profusely for being busy & the restaurant was BARELY 2/3 full of no parties greater than 4.. * (the table next to us even sent back all of their food & just left!) It was horrible. My brisket was cold, my beer was warm, the service was panicked & didn't pay attention to any details in what we ordered or what they visually brought to our table.. Quirky venue in the middle of freaking nowhere ... Thankfully we were trying to fill up our wine and beer trail passports and accidentally stumbled on this awesome spot. We will definitely be back! The bar/restaurant area feels like a 1970s school cafeteria that hasn't been updated whatsoever. But it was jam packed with patrons playing trivia on our recent Sat. night visit. I was so bummed we got there late ... trivia is my jam. So were the ciders ... Especially the barrel aged cider and the honey crisp cider. The latter was my fave and we took a bunch home. It was super busy and we were on a schedule, so we didn't get a chance to order food but we were seated at the bar right next to the kitchen and the food we saw making its way out to other patrons looked tip-top! They truly do it all here: about 20 beers and ciders were available on tap, plus they make thier own spirits and are well known for their brandies. The store in the entryway features all their libations plus housemade jams, jellies, salsas, etc. read more

Tried the sampler of 4 beers, gave up and had a cider. My venison sausage was "meh" and my wife said the same about her bratwurst. My father-in-law tried two beers and was unimpressed. Service was friendly but slow and not helpful. I see no reason to return with better options just a few minutes away. I was there the afternoon of Friday 14 August 2020. The chicken club sandwich and the riesling were good, but the service was slow. They had one girl working the inside Taproom and the outside patio. I was driving along M12 when I saw a sign for them and because my name is also Lehman (although for me it is my first name) I had to stop in and check them out. I bought in their store after eating 2 bottles of wine, 2 tall glasses with their (our) name and logo, and a baseball cap. By the condition of the glasses on display and the conversation with the cashier it sounds like the glasses they sell are ones that are being used. She said she would find glasses that are not scratched up and wash them for me. If it wasn't for the novelty of my name also being Lehman I would have passes. Then I saw some cards on the counter and I picked one up to look at it and she said, You want a sticker too? That will be $2. I said, Oh I thought it was a business card. I put it back and next to it was another holder which was business card and I said, I'll just take the business card. I then joking said, Since you're using my name couldn't I get a sticker for free. Think about it! It cost them pennies for the sticker and they want $2 which is ridiculous! But the cashier went on to try and explain the the family has had business since 1929 and that was before I was born. They obviously do NOT understand the first thing about marketing and customer service. Everyone I've talked with agrees that as a courtesy due to my name also being Lehman it would have been a nice gesture on their part to have given me the sticker. With the cashier trying to justify the age of the family name as an excuse was just the wrong thing to do! read more

They have great light fare...i don't drink alcoholic beverages, so I can't rate that. Their Philly cheesesteak sandwich is the best with mild horseradish sauce on the side--Yum! My teen daughter gets their margarita pizza every time with thin crust, fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, and balsamic deliciousness. The bbq brisket on brioche or as a soft taco is amazing and so is their tomato bisque soup. I miss their french onion soup. Skip the mac 'n cheese though. It's only meh. ...super friendly staff and casual/relaxing atmosphere. I've been there maybe a handful of times, and it's quickly becoming a family favorite. read more

Tried this new brewery yesterday. Really had a wonderful time. For Buchanan to have a unique space like this is really exciting. What a wonderful way to adapt this old building. I hope people who visit appreciate the history and local emotion attached to this part of town. This old factory town is experiencing a resurgence with local wines, beers, and antiques. That's all rolled into the experience here. The mosaic IPA was our absolute favorite of the 8-10 beers we tried (amongst several tasters). Scotch Ale and Johnny Apple Cider were solid too. Dark beers and ciders seem to be the brewer's favorites, and the darks we tasted were very full of flavor. We didn't eat food (except for a warm pretzel which was good), but the food on other people's plates looked interesting and worth exploring on a future visit. We'll be back. read more

Read their ad that they were offering Live Acoustic Music and thought we would check out a new place. Thought the concept of Farm to Table would be tasty. Great choice to have music, but bring your earplugs!!! We quickly left as the music was too loud and we sat at the furtherest place from the musician. When we got up from our seats, another guest asked if they could have our table as they were sitting too close to the music as well. This restaurant appeared to have couples there socializing for date night, however there is no way to have any type of conversation with the high level of sound. My boyfriend ordered a pizza which he enjoyed. Nice thin crispy crust. I ordered the pork tacos. Glad they had a corn tortilla option - however, i found it to be inedible. The tortilla fell apart while just holding the taco and I found the taste to be extremely bland. The ambiance, in my opinion, has room for some comfort or coziness to be added. It appears to be stark. I had their signature cocktail - I think it had brandy, sprite and apple cider. It's a pretty small cocktail which can be fine, but there was no fizz from the sprite, came with all of the ice melted and you'd think perhaps maybe a slice of apple or something as a garnish since it's their signature cocktail. I really do hope that this place improves their ambiance, increase flavor and lower the level of the musicians speakers. It would be great to have a successful destination restaurant in Buchanan. However, at this rate I don't see much repeat business in their future. Good luck! read more

Not for everyone. The menu is pretentious while somehow being completely underwhelming. The drinks we sampled tasted watered down and again the drink menu was pretentious. It's great if you want to try average local brews but wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for an even mediocre lunch spot. read more

Honestly, I'm not a fan. We have tried the brewer/distillery as well as their smaller location at the orchard. Neither the wine or beer are good, which is disappointing because they have such an opportunity, with all their fresh fruit/crops. We did a 6 pack assortment of beer when we were having out of town guests. Two of the 6 (different types) bottles of beer exploded when we opened them 48 hours after purchase. And the wine was subpar at best. I'm glad it's received good reviews from others, but it's not our cup of tea and I'm disappointed to have spent $40 on 2 bottles of wine and 6 bottles of beer. read more

Beers were absolutely awful--tasted like homebrewer's mistakes, and with a funk, which the BF, who is a homebrewer, declared may be from trying to make cider and beer in the same place? Not sure. Just sure I really didn't like it. Service was decent. Place was somewhat interesting. After ordering the brisket nachos, which were reminiscent of stoner munchies, with a sweet bbq sauce and lots of grease, we bailed on the place. They were accommodating of our group of eight, so one star for that and the ciders really weren't bad. Maybe they should stick to cider? I had high hopes and they just weren't satisfied. read more

So I've driven past the sign for this place a million times and have always been intrigued but never stopped. Tonight I stopped in not really knowing what to expect and boy am I glad that I did! The building is an old showroom Clark equipment and has a lot of the original architecture and fixtures giving it an eclectic and rustic feel. When you first walk in there is a cute little shop where you can purchase some of their products made either right there or at their local farm. Anything from their white rye whiskey, jam from the fruits grown on the farm or coffee they've roasted themselves right there. After a few minutes of being in the shop we were greeted by the owner, Steve, he was so eager to show us around, tell us about the history of this space and what his plans are for it. Steve's passion is one of the things that makes this place so great. Okay so now let's get to the food-YUM! I had the brisket nachos and omg they were amazing! My dad had the smoked brisket sandwich with the macaroni and cheese, which he said was the "best mac and cheese he's ever had" which means a lot coming from my dad:). The servers were friendly and knowledgeable and the food came out quick and hot! There were plenty of gluten free options which I greatly appreciated. The prices were very reasonable, the total came to $36 for both of our meals a shot of the white rye whiskey on the rocks and a wine flight!!!! There was live music playing and the acoustics and band were great. I'm so glad I decided to stop at Lehman's tonight and I can't wait to go back! read more

This was a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE experience! The waitress was kind but the service was ultimately terrible. I was with a group of people that wanted to give this establishment a try, so we did. Food ordered and took an hour and a half for the last meal to be served. The first two dinners were served and the next 10 minutes later and so on. By the time the last meal was served, the first people that received their meals had been done for over 1 hour. Absolutely the worst experience in dinning I have ever experienced. I would be embarrassed to conduct business this way!!! In the end there was not discount offered to the last dinner that took their meal to go in a box as the others wanted to leave because the group had plans to attend the Niles Scream Park (they had been done for over an hour). If you want a good piece of advice, do not make any plans to eat here. You will be sorry. I am the least vocal person about stuff like this but I was so appalled by what happened tonight, I felt the need to warn others. AND the food was horrible!!! read more

The only reason I give them 2 stars is because of the actual orchard. They were amazing. The restaurant was very disappointing. Service was absolutely horrible. Waitress was unhappy and didn't seem pleased we had children with us. It took at least 5 minutes for a greeting. 10 minutes for adult beverages and even more time for just waters. They advertised pizza on flyers, which they did not have. They were over priced and wasn't a pleasant first time. Wouldn't suggest the brewery for a family at all. read more

Have given this place a few chances and they have really improved. Beer was excellent. Food was outstanding. Biggest issue is the noise level but they are working on it. The Belgium dark ale is incredible. This place is a destination location. Should be a great 2018 summer. read more
