I have super fine hair with a healthy dose of "frosting" (shiny gray/silver infiltrating where my real color should be!). Finally made a yelp for this so, real person here! 1. Leidi works really well with a lot of different hair types (even if you have really thick or more textured hair). I have really thick hair and have had stylists in the past just kind of take a razor to it & hope for the best, but that's not what happens here. 2. It is seriously SO hard to find someone (even in a city like Houston) that knows how to do multiple types of bangs well. She will make your bangs look great + go well with your face. Trust her with your bangs! 3. Her cuts grow out really well/look good even just air-dryed. This is sooo important to me because I do not style my hair very often & only make it to the salon 3-4 times a year. Léidi is a rock star when it comes to cutting hair!! Covid safety precautions in place. One salon chair studio, masks on. She is very intuitive when it comes to your hair type and style preferences. I wanted something low maintenance. My hair was cut into a layered bob with seamless caramel highlights layered throughout. She mentioned not wanting to leave the bleach in for too long to avoid the dreaded orange tinge, and so far, my highlights have faded beautifully, the cut also grown out beautifully. I'm one of those I kid you not "omg do whatever you want to make me look good bc I don't know what I want but make sure I look fab out the shower and air dried..." Razored my hair to get rid of my blunt shape and texturized it just the way I loveeee! I still have a lotta hair but it's just not the thickness of a tree trunk now. I went to Leidi a while ago when I needed a good cut. Since I had just moved from Fort Worth and couldn't go to my regular stylist as often I searched Yelp in hopes of finding someone just as good. I was really excited to go to Leidi after all of the 5 star reviews I saw and booked my appointment. First of all the price was high, I think I ended up spending somewhere around $85 on my haircut, yes expensive but if she was as good as everyone had said I would have been fine with it. Leidi was very nice but as some others have stated the shampoo was rough with lots of pulling and no scalp massage. I have lots of fine, curly hair and that's where she went very wrong with my cut. I told her that I prefer when stylists don't use a razor on my hair since if you know anything about curly hair thats a big no no in most cases. She used it anyways and I swear left a 1 inch long piece of hair at the top of my head that proceeded to stick straight up for almost a month. Obviously, Leidi can do a good cut from the reviews but I think she does much better on people with thick, straight hair. If you have curly hair I would not recommend using her. read more

Leidi's well reviewed and I know she doesn't need help getting business, but sometimes you just have to give credit where credit's due. I am asian and have thick, wavy hair. I never knew this until recently. Leidi is the only person who has been able to cut my hair in a way that when I come out of the shower 30 minutes before work, I can let my hair air-dry on the drive over, and it will fall into natural waves. I honestly didn't know my hair could do that after all these years. Other asian hair salons flat iron my hair to death before they cut it because they don't know anything other than the cookie-cutter do. Not only is it an excellent cut, it is the first cut that I have had so uniquely "me." It's as if she came up with a signature cut just for me! Yay Leidi!! I finally bit the bullet and chopped of my wedding hair. We're talking 6-7 inches of hair off my head. Since I'm fairly new to Houston, I checked out Yelp and settled on Leidi at H3 salon. All the stylists at H3 are by appointment only, so you can either call the main number (listed here) or the stylist's personal number. Leidi's number is her cell phone, but don't feel weird about calling--she loves new clients! My hair is kinda complicated...I've been thermally straightening it for the past two years, but I'm letting it grow out now so it's sort of a mixture of textures. Leidi helped me find a style that works for me, and even taught me how to style my new bangs! The blue and white building has a huge 701 in front of it, so it's hard to miss. You have to use the call box to buzz up and get access to the building. The salon itself is very small, but that makes it very quiet and relaxing. I felt at ease without all the normal salon-goers staring at me. I'm so happy to have a new go-to girl in Houston. Leidi charges $55 flat, so that was a steal for my long, complicated hair. Leidi is truly gifted with scissors. I read about her on Yelp and had to experience it for myself. She works at the The Parlour, which is a cute place- Z Gallerie meets IKEA decorated. Her haircuts are $60. There's an extra charge if you want to have your wavy/curly hair styled straight and let her know if your hair is super thick since that takes more time to cut and style. She only accepts cash or check. She texted me an appointment reminder. My hair did look nice after she cut it. She taught me how to style my hair myself by fixing the frizziness and tweaking the curls in my hair with a curling iron, which I thought might be the best part of the whole experience. read more

I went to Studio 8 a few days ago and had Leidi cut my hair. She is an amazing hair stylist! She understands about different hair types and listens to what you desire your hair look to be. I usually bring a hair style picture as reference too. This time I want a mod light shag with curtain bangs, and Leidi delivers. Love my new hair. The salon layout is open floor concept, spacious and clean. Each hair station comes with a comfy seat and a big mirror, that goes all the way to the floor. Their hair products feel nice on my hair and smell good. One thing I notice, lighting inside the salon is great. I'm sure this has been said, but Leidi is very considerate and a good listener, which is extremely important in a hair stylist! Too many think they know what is best for your hair and do something crazy that you never asked for or wanted. Leidi will give you advice, but she will ultimately follow your wishes. I have extremely fine hair and was looking for a style where I could wear my hair straight without it looking flat and lifeless. I brought in a picture of a shag cut I found online, and I walked out with the exact cut in the picture! It is incredible how she can exactly copy a cut you like, make it work for you hair, and show you how to style it. I have been to Leidi three times now, and have never been happier with a haircut. I get so many compliments on my hair, and I feel it's the best look I've ever had! I received the same excellent service every time. Leidi was a wonderful person - sweet, passionate about her work and life - but my cut made me sad. I came to the salon for the 1st time with long hair, maybe mid-way to my back or several inches past my bra strap. I wanted several inches off the length, but I was not looking for a dramatic change so I requested a long cut with long layers. I even brought in a picture that I thought captured my vision of the cut I wanted. However, my idea of a long cut and her idea was just not the same. I knew after the first snip that something was off. . . I asked about the length and she kept saying it was long and past my shoulder. Little did I know it was less than two inches past my shoulder - the awkward middle stage where you're waiting for your hair to grow out. I was not happy with the length or the style. I did like the long layers she cut in the front to frame my face and give it some movement, but the rest of my hair lacks any edge/style. Luckily, hair grows and and I can try again in a few months. I highly recommend being very specific with what you want - a picture of the front AND back of hair, or specific instructions on the exact length (e.g., to the middle of the back or at the bra strap) and style. It may have been my high expectations (based on the yelp reviews) or my lack of explicit guidance but I was disappointed with the end product. I enjoyed the company of the stylist, just not happy with the hair style. read more

I've been getting cuts with Leidi for about a year and a half now and I can't recommend her enough. Her skill and personality are both wonderful and she is as talented as she is easy-going. Leidi consistently gives me a great cut. She's always has respected my wishes to not cut too much length off, yet has given me the shorter layers I wanted that no other hairstylist seemed to understand. Recently I decided to take the plunge and lighten my hair a few shades. My issue was that I used henna for 8 years and no hairdresser wanted to touch me with a 10 foot pole. Not only did Leidi get my hair to lighten, the color is very beautiful and my hair feels good. She never took a harsh approach to the lightening process, and she was willing to communicate the whole time about what she was doing. It could have easily been a disaster (color or damage), but she made it turn out beautifully and wasn't afraid to go slowly and conservatively until we got to the end result. After being moving back to Houston for a year, I've been salon hopping because I'm super picky about my hair. I have bad hair experiences as a child to thank for that. So yesterday I went to Leidi with high hopes after reading all the steller reviews, crossing my fingers that she could cut my bangs exactly the way I wanted. I don't know what it is about the other stylists I've worked with, but Leidi is the first to get it right. She listened to me ramble on about the very specific details I wanted, and even though some things weren't 100% possible with my fine hair, she told me what she'd do to get me as close to it as possible. I love that! Other stylists just say no and do what they want. I also love that Leidi is so friendly and easy to talk to. Usually I'm one of those awkward clients who don't know what to say, but a lot of my previous stylists also didn't even try to strike a conversation with me. The only reasons why I'm taking away a star are 1.) street parking--could be hard to find, and I suck at parallel parking, and 2.) I do kinda like salons where they pamper you with cucumber water and mini massages, and I also do prefer Aveda products. Alas, I haven't been able to find an Aveda salon with a stylist I like. These are pretty minor problems though, so I'm pretty sure I'll be making Leidi my regular stylist! Plus who can turn away free bang trims?
