I really loved this place until 4/2. Been coming here for years and ordered my Ca omelet with hashbrowns & pancakes. My omelet looked like a scramble I literally told the waiter that it was not what i ordered! The waiter was kind and got me another omelet. Just a good old fashioned diner. Food was good but coffee was like weak tea. They definitely need to use a few more scoops of beans in the pot. Our servers were friendly and welcoming. I will also mention that they talk about 3 and 4 eggs omelette, but they must be the tiniest eggs. We ordered eggs scrambled and in an omelette, so really hard to say. There can be a small line at busy times, and the parking lot has angled parking with no exit which is a little awkward. What a beautiful place. My daughter, niece and sister took me here for my birthday. I drove down from LA on a Sunday. The waiter was amazing. Very informative and nice. Don't judge a book by its cover! Disappointed when my original destination no longer had outdoor seating, I found this little gem on Yelp. Someone had enjoyed the chicken fried steak breakfast, but I wanted lunch. The staff cleared a 4 top just for me, and I ordered the entree version of the chicken fried steak. Starting with a nice house salad, the main dish arrived with real mashed potatoes! To me this is a litmus test. A diner that will go to the effort to peel potatoes is going to be good. And it was. The chicken fried steak was crispy under real country gravy. The fresh veggies were vibrant if a bit undercooked and the garlic toast was just buttery enough. Quite a meal for $14.95! I was looking to get some breakfast and wait out the northbound traffic on the 15 & 125. when I drove up I couldn't tell if it was even open and thought about passing it by. I'm glad I went in. immediately felt the warm homey vibe. coffee was fresh,hot and delivered quickly like good diner coffee should be. the waitress was very pleasant. the option of Greek style for the eggs was intriguing. fresh sliced tomatoes, salty feta and pita with tzatziki was a nice alternative to the usual potatoes and toast. Location is just an old rundown diner with limited parking. The inside needs some remodeling and so the bathrooms. Although it's old it is clean. I've been in a few times now and the waitresses have been kind and attentive. The food portions are good and the food itself has been pretty decent. It's all basic diner type food with some Greek food too, and they do have senior specials. There's a good variety overall. read more

Lemon Grove Cafe is a cute little mom and pop looking spot. They're a little older and outdated decor wise, but that's usually where the food is the best. Their food is not only good, but the prices are super affordable too. My family loves coming here (we go at least once a month), especially my kids because they have Mickey pancakes that come with eggs and bacon. Their pancakes tho...on point, as well as their hash browns! I'm a sucker for breakfast food, so I'm choosy on certain things and they've yet to disappoint. The wait does get a bit long especially on the weekends during breakfast, but it's worth it and that's how you know they're legit! I haven't had to wait any more than 45 minutes though and that's with a party of 8. The workers are also friendly and take good care of you. read more

Been going to this restaurant for years. Nothing fancy, but always friendly, reliable, and fresh! The food is fresh, not the people! Large portions for a reasonable price...great Greek and Mexican favorites add to regular American diner food. Wonderful outdoor, covered patio that stays fairly cool, even on hot days, where you can bring your dog! And, to top it off, yesterday, I left my purse in the patio and drove home with my brother, so I didn't realize I didn't have my keys or purse! A couple of hours later, a staff person found it on the patio, found my business card inside, and called me. Luckily, not too many folks were on their patio early Friday afternoon, and my purse was intact, including cash, credit cards, and gift cards! I couldn't be more pleased. Great job, Lemon Grove Cafe! 04/30/2019 update ... On this visit I have to say they have significantly improved from the last. The omelette was definitely packed with bacon, sausage, onions and cheese but it was a little sparse on the mushroom. I got the farmers omelette but substituted the ham for sausage and minus the tomatoes. It was very satisfying and I ate most of my omelette and took my pancakes and the fresh fruit to go. The fruit consisted of cantaloupe, honeydew and one grape. The pancakes were OK but again not the same recipe as it was a few years ago. They're quite a bit smaller in size which I don't mind because it's pretty hard to eat the omelette and pancakes and fruit or hashbrowns or anything else for that matter. It's a whole lot of food. That meal could be split between two people. But make pancakes just lacked in that nice fluffiness. I don't know I think the recipe needs to be tweaked a little bit more. Another thing that sucks is I came here specifically because I wanted the pancakes with fruit and some sort of egg. But nevertheless I enjoyed my food and I had great service. It's definitely a clean establishment and gets packed from here to there and the quality of the food I have to admit it's pretty good. I've said more recent reviews and I've had lots of great experiences and some have. I guess it kind of depends on what you order and the cook for the day. I do feel that they use a lot of fresh ingredients but I have yet to try this pre-made spinach sauce with onions in it. I think the only downfall is they don't have fresh spinach and I'm not so sure why. They have fresh mushrooms and avocados that they put in a dish along with tomatoes onions and other toppings like feta cheese and green onion but they don't fool with fresh spinach... interesting. Nice little breakfast / brunch spot! It's interesting here, there's a unique hook: the menu boasts a mix of Greek and Mexican cuisine. Not to mention... beer... and wine. Color me intrigued! That said, I ordered the Eggs Benedict with hash browns and a side of bacon. I'm a sucker for Eggs Benedict. If it's on the menu, no matter how much I hem and haw over other interesting stuff, that's what I usually get. The Eggs Benedict here were good, but not really that interesting. That said, whose fault is that? It's my fault. This place specializes in Greek and Mexican, and I didn't go for either of those things. On the Greek side we see souvlaki... spanakopita... gyro... lemon chicken. On the Mexican side we have tacos, burritos, enchiladas. And to really leverage the power of this place I think you should probably get one of each side and enjoy the variety. I will definitely be returning to explore their menu more! read more
