This place has so many good reviews so I had to try it. I went here with my family for my sons birthday, both my kids got chicken strips and fries, I got the fish tacos, my mom got the chicken and artichoke salad, and my aunt got the garden salad. I just have to say first that the fries are amazing. Awesome fries. My fish tacos were ok, but the actual fish (including the batter) was flavorless, which was surprising. The chicken strips we're too. My moms chicken and artichoke salad was good though. My aunt wasn't impressed with her garden salad, it could've had more of a variety of vegetables. It was just boring. Man do I miss this place. I lived in Bako about 10 years ago and I loved going to the place in the middle of an industrial, warehouse neighborhood. I went for the beer and the beer only. Last week I was back in Bakersfield and went for the food. I was impressed. The stinky fries paired with the Ipa was a combo made in heaven. The IPa had just enough bite to counter the Gorgonzola. Then it was on to the main course. Now that I live in Minneapolis I can't find a decent tri tip to save my life. The sandwich was Awesome and went down well with the Porter. My Husband, Son and I were in Bakersfield seeing some friends and we wanted to try some new grub before we headed home. We stopped at Lengthwise The Pub. The food was SO terrible, I felt compelled to create a yelp account just so I could write a review. The fish tacos were mediocre and my husband had to request hot sauce from the bar since they were so bland. I ordered the fish & chips and they were by far the worst I've ever had. I've had better "fish sticks" from Gorton's. They were chewy, the breading had no flavor and it fell off the fish as soon as you took a bite. Our son was getting restless so we didn't stick around to voice our opinion, but it doesn't matter anyways because we definitely won't be returning. read more

First off, Bartender Ben is the man! He is very timely and very respectful to everyone that walks through the door. Their Zeus Imperial beers are amazing but not for the weak. 10% alcohol at 10 ounces a cup. Burgers and fries are amazing. Never have I been disappointed with their food or drink. I've even tried to make it a bit of a ritual/tradition to make it out to this location right after school. One hell of a way to help soften the blow of hump day, plus the 3$ Zeus. This place is.. eh. The staff was cool and the wait time for food was pretty fast, but the food itself was bleh. You walk in and seat yourself with the menus waiting for you at the table. Then once you know what you want, you walk up to the register where you place your order. Kinda weird, but whateva. Then after you place your order, you pay right there and are expected to tip.. kinda hard to tip on service that kinda doesn't happen? I'm a server so I tipped but I.. yeah. I don't get it. They give you a table number and the food gets ran out to you when it's ready. My friend and I had the onion rings and calamari as starters and they tasted like something you would get at a fast food drive-thru; not the greatest by any means. For burgers, she ordered the open-face chili burger and I got the pulled pork hamburger. The burgers were a great size and looked awesome but tasted mediocre. The patty was over-cooked (they don't ask for a temperature on the patty) and it all just lacked.. any kind of substance. This is place was cool to try out but I probably won't be back. read more

The only thing good here is the beer. Their service is horrible! I waited 45 minutes tonight for my food only to hear they haven't started it yet. The bartenders told me they got really busy, everyone showed up at the same time.... pretty sure you can only take 1 order at a time...don't give me excuses. People aren't stupid. Got my money back. This was the only lengthwise I liked going to, cause their staff at other locations seem to all be snobs and act like they have something better to do than to DO THE JOB THAT THEY WERE HIRED FOR! My family hates coming here (especially my wife, cause of the service) and so we don't go out here anymore. If anyone of the owners reads this, they'll probably ignore it, because the profits are what matters. Don't know if I'll ever eat at lengthwise again. Oh my goodness, the Zeus IPA is a beer that deserves mainstream attention. I had the peanut butter bacon jalapeno burger, and wow. My only request is that it needs MORE peanut butter. Lengthwise is a good spot to hang out on a friday/saturday night. The location on Schirra Ct has a huge patio where you can play darts, drink, smoke etc. I just wish they had a bar outside to serve. Its cool to have a brewery in town that has good beer, good food and a good atmosphere. Lengthwise is the place. read more

Like all the Lengthwise Breweries in town, the beer is delicious, the food is average, and the decor/bar is awful. It's like getting a beer at the food counter at Target: plastic, bright, and sterile. When they started advertising this one as "The Pub," I got excited thinking it would have dark wood, low tables, and and a "pub" feel. This one has beer cans lining the wall and motorcycles hanging from the ceiling, which is just isn't as cool as it sounds. Sorry, Lengthwise. Love the beer. Come here with 2 friends of mine and my dad frequently when I'm home visiting. They have great beer and delicious fish and chips. I love their Zeus IPA and Centennial Ale, both are great beers. One of my favorite places in Bakersfield. They have amazing food here and the beer is some of the best you can drink. I really enjoy the beer they make its strong and tastes amazing. They have many varieties that they make. My favorite food item is the mac and chili cheese stinky fries with the hot sauce they make (which is the hottest thing ive ever eaten). the people that work there are awesome also great people very friendly. The decor is cool. They have vintage motorcycles and antique beer cans all over the place. A little pricey, but definitely worth the money. A average night out with the family the total usually rings up at about 80 bucks and thats with maybe 4 beers. These beers are strong it doesnt take much so 4 is just fine. Ive collected every glass they have come out with since 2010. One of my favorites I will continue to frequent. Overall they couldnt get better!!! read more

Came here to sit for 10 minutes while a waitress continuously just cleaned random windows that weren't dirty and fix tables that were already fixed all while taking multiple glances and our table. Didnt even get anything to drink. Maybe re-training should be in question. read more

Definately the go to spot for craft beers and great food. They have the largest selection of craft beers in town I've seen. Always fun to come here and try out some new beer and the bartenders are very knowledgeable and helpful. If you let them know what kind of beer you like they'll steer you in the right direction. Zeus is one of their own brews and hands down my favorite. It comes in a smaller glass but a couple of those will leave you with a nice buzz. Their food is also some of my favorite in town. If you've never had them be sure to try the Stinky Fries. They're garlic fries with gorgonzola but the cheese takes them to a whole new level. They also have great burgers, gorgonzola mac and cheese, and I've heard the fish tacos are good as well. I always tell myself I'm going to try something new but I usually end up getting the Chili Mac Burger since it's so good. It's bacon cheeseburger with chili and mac and cheese with gorgonzola in top. It sounds ridiculous but all the flavors come together really well and you'll definitely want it again, and you'll have leftovers. Live music on the weekend, extensive selection of craft beers, and amazing food makes this a go to stop to unwind with friends. read more

Came here alone. I'm in town for work, and I like to try new places; especially if they have good beer. I had the brown and golden ale, both were very drinkable. I ordered the dog with chili on the side. The chili was very good, had a nice kick to it. I went closer to closing time, so not much of a crowd.
