Papaya, so ripe and sweet!

This is one of those hidden local gems that I wish to tell everyone about! For one thing, I love the selection of produce they have. I feel like what they sell has been thoughtfully procured and very reasonably priced! The people running the store are all super friendly and helpful as well. The place is also conveniently located next to bus stops so I can just hop on and off, on my way home from work. They carry your basics like bananas, onions and fresh greens but it's the diverse selection that gets me excited! You can't imagine our surprise when we came across fresh chanterelles and matsutake pine mushrooms, at incredible prices even! It sure beats spending the time and gas, having to drive all the way out to the mountains just for a chance at some of these prized mushrooms. Also, the variety in tropical fruit like ripe papaya and guava will make any Southeast Asian giddy with excitement! Walking in here is an adventure every time. I am always finding myself turning to my wife and going, "Wow honey! Look, they sell these!" It makes for a great excuse to come back whenever we're in the neighborhood.

I stumbled upon Lenny's by accident. I have driven by the place a few times but never had time to stop in. Yesterday, while on my way home from Northgate Target, JB Garden actually caught my eye first. I was in the left hand lane, and thought, I might as well turn in and check out JB Garden and grab a snack before I go home. Right after I parked, I looked up and Lenny's was right next store! Of course a place with cartons of produce is going to lure me in. Besides going to 99 Ranch, I haven't found a cheap local spot for produce. Well this is your place! I think it is Ukrainian owned, but has a lot of Asian varieties as well. They have bins of: tomatoes onions melons mangoes pineapples Cheap greens too. I walked out with my favorite Asian rice crackers, a carton of strawberries, a mango, onion, and some tomatoes, for less than $5! Loving this spot! When paying they ask if I want to buy a bag for 10 cents, or they offered me a box for free. I like that option! Reusing boxes they get from their shipments (sorta like Costco)!

This place is great! Very affordable prices on their fruits and produce. Took off 1 star because cleanliness could be better.

29/lb grapes, and best of all- $1 for a whole box of blackberries- If lucky, QFC or Safeway would be charging $2.

How do we know this did this? Kroeger went on to have windfall profits that year. They're at it again with the increase in oil prices. Looking at some of these price increases, which are so large, you just know you are being gouged. Most of the staff is helpful, but there's two cashiers who -- perhapos because they are so overworked -- are rude, short, and impatient, they really ought not to be serving customers. I can pretty much get whatever I need at this store. Buy lately, this store likes to close early... like 20 min early. I get it that it's late when they are supposed to close at 1am.. but that's their posted closing time. What else are we supposed to go by?! So when they close and lock doors before 1245, it is frustrating for someone that rushed to make it before closing only to get turned away when you should still have 15-20 mins to get in and out. Adjust your closing time to something earlier or stay open until you say you will!

I was 100% sure that I would look like an idiot trying to recreate a delicacy that is made with such grace. Tracy made it easy and fun for us to enjoy ourselves while making some outstanding sushi. Everything is set up to be foolproof (for the most part, I still found a way to mess a few things up), so you don't have to worry about it. You'll be interacting with others who are making things for the first time, and are just looking for a different type of date night. Tracy was also teaching us methodology and science behind why sushi is made a certain way in Japanese culture, even going as deep as helping us prepare rice to a certain temperature before using it. And it's good that they make the process simple here, because you're making your own dinner at the end of the night. The sushi class is a fun one, because you eat as the night goes on. You start off by making a couple hand rolls, then some another sushi course (blanking on the name), and end up making a massive sushi cake as the final dish, something I have never even seen or heard of before. I love what the pantry is doing for the community by having these cooking classes, and I can't wait to get back in here to try some more.

Appreciated the option for a glass of wine or seasonal housemade soda drink. It took three hours, which was in part because it was a little disorganized. That's long time to sit there.
