New location same arrogant/bad service. I used them in late Dec 2025 and observed rudeness with clients as I waited for exam by the person at the front desk. Caulked this up to him having a bad day. Fast forward to today. I went back in to request a form documenting my eye exam for license renewal. The same young man said since over 6 months they could not do. I pointed out that the date of exam was 12/22/25 so within 6 months. He then said 5 months was limited. When I asked how in 30 seconds this could change he said policy was 4 and 1/2 months. I told they obviously did not want to be bothered so why make up dates. Been to many Lenscrafters over the years but this is by far the worst one for customer service. read more

Staff at the Valley Stream store number 0346 are not well informed of the process of completing a set of glasses. I was promised my glasses which only needed non prescription lenses placed up to 5 days. I needed them in 6. Well it turns out it's going to take up to two weeks. I would have never paid their high prices for these lenses not to have them on a timely manner. Not to mention the parking at this location is horrific. Will never use them again! Sunglass Hut who promotes them told me that they would do the installation on site. Well that didn't happen as my glasses are at one of their labs in God knows where that is located. read more

So, my wife and I ordered 3 pairs of prescription sunglasses. Initially, everything was great. Wife received text message saying the glasses are ready for pick up. We head over and sit there for 20 minutes- I get it, first come first served. Then the associate comes over and we explain that we received multiple texts that the glasses are ready for pick up. We tell him our name and watch him fumble around the 12" x 18" bin looking for the glasses all the while asking us to repeat the name. He can't find them which I also understand - it happens. My wife says are you sure because we received multiple texts. He snaps back "the lab manager is right over then if you want to complaint!" WTF? I look over and the lab manager is just standing at the register staring at us. I just turn and walk out while hearing the associate muttering he knows how to do his job as an optician. Ironically- I am an optical physicist. I have Fortnite about optics and light than this clown would know in 100 lifetimes. We leave and go to our car where my wife receives another text telling us our glasses are ready for pick up.... Nice job all involved. Luxotica should close this dump of a store down. my elderly mother got harassed by the assistant manager who has a blonde money piece in her hair. I heard her screaming and swearing at my mom from across the store. I look over and she is hovering over my mother and waving her hands in her face and telling her to be quiet repeatedly. I wish I said something to stop it but honestly I was shaking and in shock at what was happening. This happened after my mom had let her know she already had insurance on her lense and frames and did not have any other fee to pay in store. The assistant manager then began yelling and swearing at her telling her she was wrong. The manager came out and let my mom know that she was right, she did have insurance and had no extra payment to make. However she did defend her employee behavior by stating "I was not there for the conversation so..." Im disgusted and disturbed at the situation and will never shop at LensCrafters newington store ever again. I feel we both got harassed and that lady was about to get violent had the manager not come out at that moment. read more

I had an appointment today for an exam, the front desk employee was rude, she sat on the phone and just said "license and insurance card" hardly acknowledging or speaking to me. I was early and they got me in, but I felt like I was being herded like cattle through the process. The rooms were dusty and dirty. The doctor came in and she was cold and did not speak much. She hurried through the eye exam speaking fast, because I'm hard of hearing I had a hard time understand her through her mask. I stated that I was hard of hearing and she acted put out and started speaking loud. After an extremely rushed 10 minute appointment, I was shuffled out to the sales floor. A young man approached me right away and asked me if I was going to purchase glasses, I said I would like to look around first, and he pressed until I gave him my insurance information and prescription, he ran that through the system then came to me. He asked me if I was wearing contacts, I said no, he said "really?" Then leaned back and looked at me perplexed, it was a very awkward moment. I was so confused in that moment. He then said "why are you not wearing your glasses then?" I said because I don't wear them while walking around, just when I read or drive at night. He then looked at my prescription and then proceeded to school me about driving during the day and not wearing my glasses, that I should be wearing my glasses while driving during the day, not his business . He overstepped his boundaries. The staff always looks like they are standing at the desk judging people. It's just an uncomfortable atmosphere. I will not be returning to LensCrafters again. I've had issues in the past and gave them another chance, this was my last visit. Work on your customer service, people pay a lot of money to buy glasses and get their eyes examined the least you can do is be cordial and inviting. read more

My mother and I looove glasses. Our yearly tradition is for us to have a mother daughter date and go glasses shopping and pick out the best fun yet practical pair for us. This year, Rachel from Lens Crafters, truly made the day special! She spotted us from across the room, came over , and immediately started to critque our selections and then help us find us both to find the perfect pair of glasses. I needed both prescription sunglasses and regular glasses this summer and the girls at this location were so helpful and friendly. Rachel and the store manager (I forgot her name!) gave me honest advice on how the frames I chose looked on my face bc I was shopping alone. They also made sure I got the best protection for my lenses and frames without breaking the bank since I was paying out of pocket. Great selection of frames. There's an optometrist inside this location (separate business) that I didn't need to use but obviously that's convenient. They're also super serious about Covid regulations. They give everyone a tray to put any and all frames touched during their visit in so they can be properly sanitized before returning to the shelves. I also saw them enforce store capacity numbers and there's hand sanitizers everywhere. Would definitely go here again. read more

Online can't advise regarding prescriptions that may not be a suitable fit for the frame or fit for you, but Lens Crafters in Newington does. Even with my difficult prescription, they had the lenses in stock and I got my glasses the next day. The person who gave me my new glasses made sure they fit properly, explained the damage protection plan and invited me to come back for adjustments or cleanings anytime! I can finally see again but NO thanks to this LensCrafters. After using this company at various locations for the past 20 yrs, this location has made me lose all faith in this business. I made a purchase I wasn't sure about at the urging of the salespeople. When my glasses weren't right after two weeks I returned to explore options. I was told to keep trying them out. After I returned from a business trip, a week after their 30 Day Guarantee was up, they said they would not honor anything for me even though it was their suggestion and I had already returned once within the 30 days to discuss. Apparently the regional manager said he would not honor anything since I was past the 30 days. I'm not so sure about the truthfulness of that. I went to BJs optical and they took great care of me. No more LensCrafters for me, ever! Most of these locations seem to be in malls which are disappearing anyway so hopefully they will just disappear too. read more

The staff was a friendly (at first) but not on top of requiring patrons to maintain covid safely measures. Multiple people were in the store that were wearing their masks under their noses. I left due to that and it being crowded and called to make an appointment but they refused to allow me to make one stating I needed to just walk in. When I asked when they were usually the least busy the person on the phone became dismissive and rude. If I hadn't already purchased my lenses there I would not return. I assure you I'm not one to normally be a total Karen but I really didn't appreciate this experience and will not be returning to the location in the future. read more

I have been going to LensCrafters for many years. I have always found them to give excellent service. I recently lost my expensive sunglasses in the ocean. I immediately reordered an identical pair. When they came in, I didn't like the color of the glass. Unbeknownst to the store, the color I ordered was no longer being used by the manufacturer. I chose a different color. The process was seamless and I was able to keep my sunglasses until my new ones came in. Rachael, the assistant manager was wonderful to work with. read more

This store doesn't enforce masks or social distancing. While we were there a whole family of four came in the store without masks. They were offered masks and refused. I recently went for an eye exam and new glasses at this location. The doctor who performed the exam was great and I would be happy to use him again. The problem is with Lens Crafters. The service is incredibly slow, the prices are extremely high and the customer service flat out sucks. When I picked out my frames Megan helped me. She was ok, tried selling me a bunch of crap I did not want or need. I get that's her job but when I say no, I mean no. I asked about how long it would take to get my new glasses and she said because of my prescription it could take 7-10 business days but they have been running about 5 days. I was told to give them a call in a week just to check. I did exactly that. My appointment was on a Friday so I waited until the following Friday to check. Abby answered the phone, I gave her my information and she put me in hold for 10+ minutes. Instead of giving me an answer, someone picked up the phone and slammed it down without saying a word. So I had to call back. This time I got Michelle. I again gave my information only to be told that she had no record of me being in the system. I respelled my last name and she gave me an attitude saying that "they should be in next week" then hung up on me. read more

My whole family goes to Fox Run Eyecare of their eye exams. I purchase over $2000.00 in contacts every year. Plus glasses every 2 years maybe. I was trying to schedule an appointment, the front desk clerk told me that they were most likely going to have a cancelation on a day @ a time, and she was listing me as the back up if they cancel. I called to confirm that appointment and they said sorry someone else got that cancelation. Melissa the manager was not helpful. I do not see any notes of that sort. I stated he was promised this appointment if there was a cancelation can't you contact the person you allowed to take it and explain there was an error. There are no notes you will have to schedule for a later date. I normally would not care but there are a lot of factors on why we needed this appointment. Melissa told me to call another lens crafters. (BTW none within 50 miles) so nice Melissa, Thank you for not really helping and getting an attitude with me! :( read more

I stopped by LensCrafters this evening to get my glasses tightened. Several times in the past when I've tried to stop by for this adjustment, there was a long line of customers waiting, and I gave up. Tonight I walked in and was helped immediately by Rachel. She tightened my glasses and when my husband complained that he had a scratch on his lens, she offered to try to clean the glasses and scrubbed them until the "scratch" essentially disappeared. When I said it had been too crowded when I tried to get my glasses adjusted previously, Rachel advised us on the least crowded times. (Avoid weekends and Mondays. Weekday evenings are the best.) My husband's medical technician had mentioned to us today that there is new technology for creating progressive lenses, so when we asked Rachel about that, she showed us illustrations of the new options available for progressives. When discussing our options for purchasing new glasses, she was very helpful but not pushy. When I thanked Rachel for being so helpful, she asked me to write a review and indicated that they had had problems with the store management in the past but that she and others were new. read more

Stopped by with my friend so he could get glasses. He's a young boy and the assistant manager Rachel was very kind. She explained all the benefits to him and checked both of his insurances. Some point in the conversation she seemed like she was just trying to have him commit to things he didn't fully understand. She brought up the potential of a blue light filter for his lenses and I said when she brought up the option "You don't need them" directly to him. She turned to me and said to me to just be quiet while she explained the benefits and let HIM decide. I was floored with how rude I was treated. I wasn't intended to be rude to the rep I was simply telling him as he looked at me for approval no, knowing it's an extra fee. Really disappointed. Found out that my teenage daughter needed glasses this week so we tried out the lens crafters in newington since they seemed to have some of the name brands that my daughter was interested in. The sales person Rachel was super helpful and not pushy at all, she was able to help us as we walked in the door and gave us enough time and space while we searched around for the perfect look/fit. Our optometrist recommended a non glare treatment lens and I also requested getting the blue IQ protection because of the amount of screen time my daughter gets at school since most of her work is done on her iPad. Rachel did an excellent job with explaining everything from what our insurance covered to how to care for them. Rachel had a great personality which made this mom & daughter day out fun!! read more

I will tell everyone to avoid this store like the plague. They are a bunch of shifty liars. As everyone knows, the day of brick and mortar retail stores for eyeglasses are over. You can get prescription eyewear at a fraction of the cost of a pair in store (average prescription sunglasses run $150 or so in store). In order to buy a pair of glasses online, you need your PD measurements. Naturally these measurements are never released with your prescription because it's a way of withholding your details in an attempt to get you to go back into the store. Some stores will release these details, some will not. I called and asked for the measurements so I can order my glasses online and the young lady (I forget her name) states: "Due to HIPAA compliance I am legally not permitted to give that over the phone." Stumped, I called the LensCrafters corporate office. "Technically all medical information needs to be in writing but it is up to the Optometrist whether or not they choose to release it over the phone." "So it's not against HIPAA regulations to release it?" "No, it's up to the optometrist." LensCrafters are a bunch of shifty liars that will do ANYTHING to win business. I inquired about a birthday promotion they sent me through email, I was met with a pretentious woman named Megan, I seriously hope she comes down from the cloud that she's hanging out in. Customer service is not her forte. She belongs in a high end salon nobody will go to. Her attitude, after she was done rolling her eyes through her sales pitch stating that I needed to physically have the email printed out, which Is understandable, was comical as well. Service was nice people were friendly, I thought this would be the perfect place to get my glasses repaired, I was wrong, they tried to say the screw was already broken in there prior to me bringing it in, but I knew for a fact the screw did not break off prior to bringing it because me and all of my friends checked the frame and the ear piece. Even with insurance they end up giving you less for your money. I'm not sold on the advantage of glasses in an hour. When I tried them on I had an awful parallax error. That means that the image bows out so that when you look at a computer monitor it isn't square. I ordered the same prescription from an online place and waited a week and the lenses didn't give the same effect. By mail order and without insurance I got a better pair of glasses. The lenses seem rushed to the point of bad results. Avoid. Try JC Penny optical instead. I have had good luck with them and have had the insurance cover my costs much better with better lenses. Try on the lenses at Lens Crafters, take down the information, then order it online or try somewhere else. read more

Great experience at both the doctors office and the retail store. I got my first eye appointment in nearly 12 years. The doctor and the doctor's office staff were very nice and thorough. I was comfortable and they explained what was happening at each step. After getting my new prescription, I went over to the store to pick out glasses. I was greeted immediately and given time to browse and try on frames. Once I had a tray full of frames, the staff were very helpful and patient in helping me pick out the right frames (I am very indecisive!). Once I got my frames back they took great care to make sure the frames fit well and comfortably and I was seeing clearly. It was a very pleasant experience and I look forward to getting glasses there again soon! read more

Went back to ask they make it right, and they would not consider my concern without making me pay for another eye exam. I am out hundreds of dollars, and I can not use these expensive worthless glasses. I am back to using my old scratched glasses- at least they don't give me headaches!! I've been wearing glasses for 30 years and this was the worse experience buying glasses I've ever had. Staff was brusque and unhelpful.
