Really excellent experience here on a Sunday afternoon. Jillian, Veronica, Christopher and Dr Healy were very welcoming and clearly explained everything about the prescriptions and all the lens options. We also saw them being friendly and helpful to everyone they interacted with. I feel the price paid for the glasses was fair and they were ready the next day. Dr Wong is very kind and understanding and very very patient when I was nervous. He offered me an alternative to the air puff test which was proving to be impossible for me to complete and left me laughing with how easy he made it! Thank you for being so nice to me. I left a boutique eyewear store for Lens Crafters (Valencia) solely because of the excellent service I've received from Sonia (manager) and Dr. Chow (optometrist). Both have patience and professionalism unmatched by any optometry store I've been to in the past. I'm so appreciative of their time and detail in helping me make sound decisions for my eyewear. As an on-camera actor, my vision is obviously important, but the look and style are as well. I have little, if any taste when it comes to picking frames, but Sonya does, and what a great job she did in hooking me up with frames that actually work for me. On Nov 5th I had eye exam. I was charged $49.00 for the eye exam (Humana told me out of pocket eye exam is $39.00). I insisted to the sales associate that my insurance, Humana, covers one eye exam per year and I shouldn't be charged. I made several attempts through corporate to get $49.00 refunded with no success. In addition, I have an e-mail that states a $39.00 (not $49.00) refund would be applied. It's now Dec 24th and no refund. Reading other reviews, I can see a long trail of unethical business practices. I'll never step foot in a Lenscrafters store. I would recommend friends and family do the same. Very sketchy read more

OK we all know that LensCrafters is pricey. It just is... it's a novelty because you get your glasses in one hour instead of weeks and weeks from your regular Optometrist. If you don't have insurance, make sure you have a AAA card and it will save you money. I have progressive lenses and so my lenses were extremely expensive. I do not like the way the glasses look on me and Passion helped me with every step of the way. She told me I looked beautiful in them and I trust her because she has seen people wearing glasses for so many years and helps people pick them out. The glasses she liked best were the least expensive and she didn't try to up sell me to a more expensive pair. We had a sparkling fun loving personality. Recent experience to this location was disappointing not with the doctor but the staff. Service was not like previous review posted I had my appointment at 11:00 a.m. it all started well. This was a recheck and the doctor took me in pretty quick. However, after my recheck the doctor told one of his staff members to charge me. The woman that he spoke to told me to have a seat because she was the finishing with her customer, I understand because it was busy. However, I sat and waited for about 25 minutes. I was observing customers coming in and being helped. I just decide to walk up and wait in line too. The same woman who told me to sit and wait, told me she needed to get the machine for me to pay, she asked if I was paying debit...and I said, yes. She then told another a another staff member to help me. The second lady, told me to have a seat because she had to get the device working to take my debit card. So I took a seat again, waited another 15 minutes... The second lady disappeared so I decided to go look for her. I found her helping someone else. I found a third staff member and I asked if I could just have the bill sent to my home, it just appeared nobody wanted to take my payment. The second lady told me she was waiting for the payment device to work and there appeared a problem with the device. I was not happy and I just wanted I to pay and leave. She than handed over the payment device to third lady I was speaking to, my payment got than got taken pretty quick, the device appeared to be working. I'm just not sure what happened today. I will not be using lens crafters any More. After thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars I don't need rude employees and lens prices that are $800 and I got BETTER ones for $400 I don't need a employee to say to me the price is high because it's paying for the employees and the Doctors. I am in the medical business owning a medical company, I will make sure I tell everyone about this and the very rude experience. I also know what the lens cost and names of the products. I usually buy 1-4 pairs per year for me And 1-2 for my girl friend. I called corporate and talked to some one that all she could say is the price is what it is. I did not go to The Competi but a professional lab. I would have never left lest crafters but this time I wanted to keep the frames I was using so they kept the lens full price. The very next day ran a 50% off special. They looked at my file and said WOW you do buy a lot. 5 days later they called to bring my girlfriend in for a check up. I think it's time to rename lens rappers! Not even a I'm sorry, just that's what pays for them! I see and know how they have to pay high overhead in the malls and percentage to the mall. My guess is I will not hear from lens crafters about this email. When someone has a great experience they tell a few, bad experience we tell everyone. It brings me great pleasure to give "Melisa Henderson" (LensCrafters) and "Dr. David Wong" (Visio Optometry) - a "5 -Stars" Review for the Customer Service I received when I stopped in for my eye exam and to shop for frames. The Store Manger (please forgive me) but I think I remember her name to be "Jen" greeted me immediately when I walk in the doors making sure I knew that as a customer my visit was appreciated. Without hesitation she stopped what she was doing to take care of me and listened to make certain that my eye care and insurance requests were accommodated. My appointment was at 11:20am and there was no wait time. Jen had one of her staff take me to the examination room and immediately prep me for my meeting with Dr. Wong. Dr. Wong was very thorough with my exam and explained in details about my ex-rays, my current optometry needs and what the future of my eye condition and prescription would be. Dr. Wongs' overall service and care for me as a patient made me feel great about the outcome of my first visit with him. After my exam I had the pleasure of being serviced by Melisa, who made sure I knew as a customer that I was Valued, Important, Special and Appreciated throughout my whole experience. Melisa was extremely reliable, professional and delivered my every concept on time, every time, without fail. Melisa made sure I knew every detail about the price of my frames and lenses. I just went in to pick up my glasses and this is the first time that I've done it at the counter and was asked to try on my glasses, and when I said they felt a little lopsided the lady that worked there said no, they look fine and handed me the box that it came in and asked me if I wanted a bag. I told her this is the first time I've ever picked up glasses and wasn't taken to a seat and asked to try them on and they see how they fit on me and we go from there so when I walk out and I get to my car, I opened up the case and the case is broken. My god, did I have an experience at this location. The customer service is absolute garbage. My girlfriend and I went over to the store to have her glasses adjusted, when we showed up to the store there was an incredibly rude lady working there. In any case, she finished adjusting her glasses and we left the store. My gf kept saying she was feeling dizzy, and we initially thought it was just the adjustment done that might've caused it; turns out that the lady, not only is she rude, she can't even do her job right. She left a big scratch on her lens, causing my gf to get dizzy when wearing them. Do yourself a favor, and take the drive to the sfv and have them fixed there. We won't be making this mistake twice. I went to this lens crafters to buy 2 pairs of glasses. They limited my to only trying on 6 different frames because they have to clean them. It was incredibly slow and she was very adamant about this rule. I tried to find a pair I liked, but after 6 frames I wasn't allowed to try on more so they lost the sale of two pairs of glasses. When I asked for my prescription so I could shop somewhere else that would let me try on frames until I found ones I liked she was very rude and indifferent about it. Listen. I'm all for covid safety and I get that people have it hard right now. But it was a slow Tuesday afternoon, not rush hour, and I very polite. I feel like I was catching attitude for all the rude customers who came before me or something. I am one of those that can't see a damn thing without my glasses. On a Monday night, my metal frames all of a sudden went "plink" and my lens fell out. Upon inspection, found that they had snapped. Unfixable. This put me totally out of commission. My wife is an Office Manager at a large elementary school, and did her "hold it, tape it" fix that allowed me to function. Made an appointment at LensCrafters online for 1:20 the following day. At 1:40, I was starting my eye exam. The young lady assisting me ran me through the tests that didn't require a doctor, then I was seen by the optometrist. Then, it was off to pick frames. About 2:30, I was out the door. By 4:00, they were texting me to tell me my glasses were done. My wife and I went by and picked them up. Prescription is working well for me and everyone was nice. They are pricey, as they only offer "designer name" frames, and the exam is no bargain, but they're the only place in town where one can get same day glasses. If you have the time, I don't know that I'd recommend them as a first pick unless your insurance helped out (they didn't accept ours), but if my experience is like everyone else's, you can't go wrong. read more

Happy to say I've had some really great experiences here. I owe it too The doctors at LensCrafters for helping me with a pretty serious eye situation. Not to mention the fact that the doctor continuously reached out to check on my well-being. Saying thank you is literally the least that I can do. Besides my incredible experience with the doctors, I love the array of different glasses they have. They have something for literally everyone. Muscle pleased to mention that the pricing is really not bad at all and almost everything is covered by insurance depending on who you have. The only downfall with this location is I feel that sometimes I'm left waiting for quite some time. I know all offices when you meet with the doctor requires some kind of wait time, but I don't plan spending my day waiting inside... The only positive thing is that it's at the mall so if all else fails you can walk around and do a little shopping. I feel ripped off. I went in for progressive glasses that I need for work. Instead of switching from reading glasses to computer screen glasses I wanted those two combined into one. Instead what I got was 3 strips on the lens: 1 distance 2 computer 3 reading. The problem is, most of the lens is distance (I didn't need distance on these), a tiny strip of computer and another small strip of reading. It's too busy for my eyes, I can't get used to it, once I find focus I cannot move a centimeter or I lose it. It's ridiculous and it makes me dizzy. These glasses were so expensive and are completely useless to me. I cant even use them. $1400 down the drain. They told me the day I got them "you'll get used to them". I trusted that I would. I haven't and won't. I'm so upset because I told them what I wanted and needed, they gave me something that I didn't ask for and I was too naive to know what they sold me was too much. This is why I feel ripped off. They're just there to make money. They don't care about the customer. Stay away. 0 stars. read more

Made 2 appointments for my kids. Came early to fill out forms. Waited for 20 minutes past appointment time. Asked how long it would take. Staff told me I came early. Im thinking to myself, what does this got to do with anything? Then I told her my appointment was 20 minutes ago. She said yea. Wtf? After another 10 minutes I left. 2 kids tired and hungry and just not worth it. Already waiting 30 minutes. Too bad too, they have a very nice selection of glasses. Bad customer service. I went to adjust my glasses (5min adjustment) and they made me wait over an hour. Place was not crowded.

This is the most unprofessional clinic I've ever been to. They only gave me 10 minutes to learn how to put contacts in and told me if I didn't learn in the 10 minutes I would have to reschedule another training session and the next one is two weeks in the future. Then they told me if I wanted to transfer my contact lens prescription to a glass prescription then I would have to pay another $500 for the prescription for glasses plus the cost of the frames and glasses. The Indian Manager lady was extremely rude. The only decent Employee that I work with was a lady named Passion. Passion was extremely patient and helpful but my overall experience is one of disgust and I would never go back no recommend them to anyone. Not even my dog!! read more

I very rarely write reviews...the place has to be fantastic, or terrible. And this place is terrible. The story is too long to narrate, so I will post this in snippets of the worst: As we walked in, I should have known what our experience would be after listening to some other irate customer lay into them over the phone...but wanted to give them a chance. Passion, a receptionist, had an overall very condescending vibe and attitude...which I also tried to go along with. I was asked for my eye insurance information multiple times, and asked to sign several "insurance utilization notification" documents letting me know Lens Crafters would be using my insurance (note this for later). Jillian, the eye test helper, was very agitated and tense overall...and extremely rude to one of her seemingly sweet co-workers right in front of me, barking commands of which computer to use and how to proceed with the next patients. It was very uncomfortable. The actual doctor I saw was fine. But he did tell me I needed glasses, which is the first time I've ever heard that in all my years going to eye check-ups, but also fine. What I didn't like, was that he had me sign a document that stated I refused eye dilation, when I was never asked if I wanted that test. Maybe to save money on me? No idea. All of this so far is whatever, and I've endured much worse. But the next bits were really frustrating. As soon as I came out from seeing the doctor, Passion was ON me and being very pressuring to purchase glasses that day. I explained that I was going to take my time and figure it out, and that irritated her visibly. I then asked what my insurance benefit was for frames, and she looked it up, but then proceeded to rudely explain that it was too confusing and she didn't want to tell me. I assured her I could understand, and she continued to state she basically didn't think I was smart enough to comprehend. I nicely asked her to try me...and she said "ok 30% off plus $22". What is so confusing about that to warrant all the pushback? 30% off the price of the frame, plus a $22 charge...got it. However, that did sound weird to me...it was not what I remember the benefit being, which is more like $130 off any frame once every two years. But I let that slide too because I wasn't getting glasses from them that minute anyway. We go to checkout (mind you this whole process took almost 3 hours to get through), and Passion asks me for $39. This also sounded weird to me because I was sure my eye insurance covered one exam per year. Then it dawns on me...Lens Crafters doesn't actually take my eye insurance (which is VSP by the way, one of the biggest in the country), and I am technically going "out of network" for this awful visit. Shame on me for not checking myself to see if Lens Crafters takes VSP...but who would think they wouldn't, both being huge in their field? But more importantly, why when I was asked for the endless insurance details and insurance authorization signatures did Passion not tell me, "oh by the way, we don't accept your coverage"? I posed that question to her, and all she could do was stutter through an answer to the effect of "we thought you would know that". This place is a scam for sure. She did that on purpose, and now has used a portion of my actual benefit on an out of network visit that I also had to come out of pocket for. Same reason she pressured me into buying glasses that second, and for the weird, "hard-to-understand" discount. They are a scam. To finish this punishing day, she asks if me & my daughter want to checkout separately, or together. My daughter? That woman who came in with me and had an equally terrible experience is my fiance. Sure there's an age gap...I just turned 40 and she's almost 30...sure maybe I even look a lot older than her. But her FATHER? That was intended to be mean and rude because Passion and Jillian have no compassion for their customers. I laughed that one off because it was so absurd and just actively cruel. Came in 2022 with an appointment and had to wait 3 hours to see the Dr. Came back in jan 2023, told by front desk workers it would be 15/20 min to get helped. Came in for an eye exam. Once taken back had to do the eye test, one of them I had to retake multiple of times which was annoying cause they said they needed two of each good readings for both eyes. However if you can't get the second reading, don't keep attacking me with air.. my eye was so dry after. Met the doctor, she was very nice and informative with all my questions I had. Even recommended a few things to me without pushing me to pick something at the moment. Great service. I ended up getting some special new lenses that had to be ordered, along with new frames. Where to begin....Just don't even bother coming here. They just moved into this location but all the chaos and confusion cannot possibly be explained by this. They need to run mock pre tests and check in. I had to ask after an hr of waiting to see when i would be seen. Once we did they started pre test but it didn't seem like anyone knew what they were doing. Tech kept coming in the room then leaving, I didn't even know what was going on. The confidence I have in the pre test exams is zero. Multiple people in each room talking while testing was happening. We were told mid way through by the tech that she was getting off work and could not finish testing but then came back and told us she would continue. I am not even sure all testing was charted correctly bc they kept forgetting who i was. If you want to spend 2+ hrs for a basic exam with zero confidence in the exam come here. read more

I would not recommend this location whatsoever! I arrived early to my appointment, was not seen until almost 25 minutes after my appointment time and was not done until nearly two hours later. I was definitely one of the lucky ones though because people who came in after me were waiting over an hour and a half just to be seen for an eye exam. Out of all the customers I saw during the time I was there, not one of them left happy. I saw someone get fitted for contact lenses and the doctor left her in a room for an extended period of time even after she had expressed that she couldn't see with the lenses she had on. The doctor said she had another patient and left! I also noticed that someone who appeared to work there, or at least know the staff, came in with someone and was getting preferential treatment. She was asked which doctor the other person preferred to see - something none of the other customers were asked since you are automatically assigned to a doctor when booking your appointment. This led me to believe that maybe they squeezed them in which then caused doctors to fall behind. I also didn't appreciate how insurance is the last thing they check for after getting your eye exam. I had gone in prior to my appointment to get my insurance info in their system so I'd save time (LOL) and had to ask several times for confirmation that my insurance info had gone through. One person said they'd check for me and never came back. Several employees pushed me to look at glasses and each time I refused, especially after how long it took to get the exam. I noticed other customers were doing the same. When I was finally rung out, I wanted to look at my receipt for what was being charged and make sure the insurance had covered what they were supposed to and Cookie rudely took the receipt and pointed at the bottom saying I needed to sign on the line. The only positive thing I have to say about this location is that my doctor was super thorough and you could tell he was trying his best to help everyone. Have you ever walked into a store and felt like you weren't welcome? What did you do? My guess would be that you just walked back out without buying anything. That essentially summarizes my experience at the LensCrafters located in the Valencia mall. When entering a store, I am used to the standard "How may I help you today?" Another great question is just a simple "Hello; Feel free to look around and ask me for assistance when you're ready." That's not what I got. Upon entry, I received the rather abrupt question "Do you have an appointment?" The woman asking appeared to have a little tone too, almost as if she felt that I was bothering her by being there as a customer. I didn't catch her name, but she was working behind the main desk and appeared to be a manager or a store lead. She promptly delegated the task of helping me to what appeared to be her subordinate, and then continued her more important task of doing whatever she was doing on her computer. While being helped by someone else, I was then somewhat surprised to hear her act even more rude with another customer. The young lady that eventually took the time to help me was very friendly and answered my questions about the frames I was interested in; however, the damage had been done. My experience at this LensCrafters was almost immediately tarnished by the woman that "greeted" me, and what lingered in my mind was how uncomfortable I felt, and that I just wanted to leave the store. That's what I did. No purchase today. Aside from customer service, the store appears to have a good selection of frames, from inexpensive ones to frames on the higher end of the spectrum. The store does feel a little smaller than all other LensCrafters stores I have experienced, but this feeling may be due to the layout. So in summary, here is my advice: - Advice for the store owner: As is often said, your team is only as strong as your weakest link. You need to get rid of this weak link. Ultimately, your number of sales will continue to be negatively impacted if you don't. - Advice for the customer: Consider taking your business elsewhere. If you do decide to come here, be prepared to exit without making a purchase, if necessary. No one should expect rude behavior from a salesperson that should be inherently friendly and helpful. read more
