I've heard so many good things about this place so a friend and I stopped by on a Friday afternoon. The venue is very unassuming and looks like it was a converted house so it can be easy to walk right by it if you're not looking for it. There's bar area seating inside along with seating in a couple of other rooms and a small patio out back. They don't have a set cocktail menu and instead the bartender asks you what flavor profiles and drinks you like and makes you a custom drink based off your answers with one of their house infused liquors. We tried the peaflower gin, the lemon thyme rye, and the mango and ginger tequila in three different cocktails and they were all lovely. Our bartender was personable and did a great job. I will note that he was the only person working so it might take a little bit to get your drinks. He did mention that he was the only person there so their kitchen wasn't open. I would definitely come back to try their food along with some other infused liquors! read more

Leo started out great, but they have been getting even better! Although the food seems somewhat informal (sandwiches and salads), it's all delicously gourmet. The taplist is creative, and the handcrafted cocktails are excellent. But what stands out is the friendliness of the staff, the wonderful ambiance, and a funky/artsy vibe. The pear/blue cheese arugula is amazing, but the whole menu is delicious. I didn't mind sharing my vacination status. Leo found a way to stay open during the Pandemic, and I applaud them for it, it's all part of keeping me safe and the staff safe. A really outstanding neighborhood cafe! read more

This is such a wonderful gem! The bartenders are very knowledgeable. Leo.a takes a unique approach to crafting cocktails. All you do is tell them what liquor you enjoy and they take it from there and make you a one of a kind drink you're likely to enjoy. Low-key vibe with a variety of tables and couches for eating, drinking, and talking while listening to a varied musical soundtrack on vinyl. (Personally, I would have spun more jazzy blues.) Our group of 3 Visited Leo on a Friday evening. Let me start by saying how much we appreciated the requirement to show proof of vaccination, it made our group feel much more comfortable in our environment. Hoping more establishments will follow this example. Ordered drinks at the bar and found a table out on the back deck. They have an assortment of house infused spirits that they use in their drinks. Ours were excellent. Food menu is limited. Our food order included the meat loaf sandwich, banh mi, and a duck Cuban. Again, all were excellent. Menu is limited but everything we had was great. Just a cool little spot with an extremely hospitable owner behind the bar. My trusty yelp app strikes again! I was just wandering the area decided I wanted a quick snack and a beer and it took me here. Lucky me to find such a cool little place with inviting decor. A nice sized group came following in behind me as I pretty much walked in the door as the place opened. I tried a couple beers and loved the diversity of the not quite extensive tap list. I talked to the bartender/owner quite a bit about his food and I could tell he was passionate. I wanted to try it all honestly, but this quick sandwich was already going to spoil my dinner, so I kept it relatively light. I asked about both pork sandwiches and he said that he asked if I wanted to try a combination of the 2 of them. It was magnificent. Roasted pork and cheese with pickled veg on pumpernickel. Quite lovely. A larger group came in shortly there after and it was time for me to get back anyhow, so I didn't order any more snacks or more drinks, but did get a couple sips of my neighbors cocktails and I will certainly come back for one of those. This was a miss for me... I generally trust my fellow yelpers but on this one i felt let down. I had the meatloaf sandwich which was served cold and severely lacking in meatloaf and more importantly flavor. It was served with some Chex mix which quite frankly was much tastier than the sandwich. We also had the smoked potatoes which were also served cold and it was the same story here with lack of flavor. However, on the plus side the space is great and the drink selection was great. My advice would be to stop in for a drink before or after eating elsewhere. read more

Genuinely great pub. I went for the food - it was one of the few still offering takeout at a late hour. I was immediately charmed by the vibe, a mix of friendly regulars who knew the bartenders and people enjoying a chat and a drink. if I could rate a zero for this bar on the North Shore in Pittsburgh, I would. The bartender and the owner were extremely rude. They refused to make a simple, dirty martini, they refused to put coffee on for coffee drink, they said they were too busy to do so. there were a total of 15 people in the entire place. when my friend tried to ask for a spritzer, the owner wouldn't even listen to her and requested a credit card to keep open. She tried to explainthat she only wanted to pay for the two drinks that we had ordered, but he still took her credit card. It took over 20 minutes to get it back. It turns out that evening for other people were complaining of how rude they were. I will never step foot in this bar again and I can't understand how they have won any awards because they are definitely not excellent. We were the only two women in the bar at the time. I have to mention that all we did was ask for the drinks, did not press the issue; although, they were extremely mean with their responses as if they didn't have time to even talk to us. This is one of the restaurants I'm most excited to go back to after this quarantine is over. We discovered it on a Sunday afternoon, looking for a casual, no-fuss meal. We ordered duck spring rolls, a Caesar salad, a Tasso ham and cheese, and a pitt beef sandwich. The food was great. It was affordable and unique and I'm glad we found the place. The cocktails were fantastic as well. I ordered a spicy mezcal drink and the Forrest tini, which is unlike anything I've ever had before. It definitely tasted like it was "of the Earth". They were both well balanced and thoughtfully concocted. My wife loved her cocktails as well. We also recently ordered all four sandwiches on their Leo a go-go take out menu and they were all comforting and just what we needed on a Saturday afternoon. read more

Then after we were asked they asked the cpl who came in before us then said to them yea... because you guys have been here before right. . What a great find. This fun and eclectic spot is in Northside, tucked away on Allegheny Ave. It's fairly small with a small menu that is better than plain pub fare. They make their own infused spirits and will create a cocktail for you and have a nice selection of beers. The owner stopped to chat a bit. Seems like it's a popular spot for locals, but we felt very welcome as first time guests. I also appreciated that they require proof of vaccination- this may not be everyone's bag, but the owner explained he is protecting his regulars, some of whom are immuno-compromised. Let me start by saying that I got sick as a dog after eating here. I had the meatloaf sandwich and my wife had the Cuban. My wife started to feel a bit ill soon after eating and I was full blown food poisoned. I suffered the effects (I will spare the details) for days after. Leo is good stuff. It's not far up Allegheny Ave in Manchester and its a very fun spot a bit off the normal Western ave path. Check them out. Good draft and cocktail selection and really good people. I do have some thoughts though: We've been here twice now, once shortly after moving in for a free beer each (Thanks Allegheny City Realty!) and the Marty's Meatloaf and Bahn Mi. My partner raved about her Bahn Mi, still does from time to time, but honestly I was whelmed by the Meatloaf, despite our waiter hyping it up like it was the best thing he'd eaten that month. We returned the other night, this time getting the Spanish Meatball (which I think was a newer addition as its not on the menu in the website photo) and The Eastern Block for our sandwiches accompanied by the Tamales, Vegan chili and the Duck Spring Rolls. Let's start with the positives. The Meatball sandwich was very nice and flavorful. The Tamales were excellent. Both were the clear stars of the show. "The Eastern Block" sandwich was loaded with meat and everything mentioned and the bread was fresh, but it was missing a little something that would have put it over the top for me. I liked it a lot, it just didn't make me go "oh wow". The Duck spring rolls were tasty, but felt a bit pricey for getting 2 long ones in a tiny bowl with a small pour of sauce. And the chili, oof, the chili. I wanted it to be good; the flavors were there and the serrano peppers added a nice heat, but the chili was room temperature! For the price, i'd expect it to be at least warmed up. Lastly, the sign with their hours (which granted is also online) is a bit hard to read at night and when we walked up around 6 on Thursday it looked like they were closed. All the main lights were off and there was just an ambient blue glow from behind the bar. We were about to turn around and try somewhere else, despite seeing they were open, until the owner came out and motioned for us to come in, saying they were open. Just a bit weird. We were the only ones in there, probably because anyone walking by thought the place was closed! read more

I found this gem while on vacation and I want to say I went there everyday but the day that they were closed! This place is great, I didn't eat any food but it looked so good! The drinks were AMAZING and the company was even better. They do require a proof of vaccination, so make sure you have that handy but after our first time the staff remembered us and we didn't have to show it again. But seriously, they made us feel so welcomed and the conversations with the staff truly made our vacation one to remember. It will be interesting to see what happens with this new bar. It's wonderful that Manchester has its own drinking spot now, and the cocktails look super creative. I ordered snack mix and was surprised to receive a bowl of mainly Cheerios, meatloaf sandwich, which had amazing bread and very little meat, and the olives, which were fantastic. It TOOK FOREVER to get served. There was a guy who saw us waving, and I swear he simply looked the other direction. 20 minutes to share a drink order??? Nah, I don't think so. Drove by this unassuming building by chance. Once we had a free evening, I took my husband here. We instantly loved the vibe, warm, welcoming and stylish. They have a beautiful selection of cocktails complete with a chestnut infused bourbon! I chose a drink with the house made basil flower gin. Prices are really reasonable and it includes an innovative menu. I opted for the chorizo meatball sandwich, my husband had the Hot Pitt sandwich.
