Back in December the ice maker in our refrigerator broke so I called my home warranty company to get it repaired. They assigned Ninelives Appliance Repair. Two technicians came to our house to assess the situation. They confirmed that the ice maker did indeed need to be replaced. After they left we discovered that they had broken the door to the ice maker. I called nine lives to inform them that they had broken the ice maker door. A day or two later the home warranty company called to tell us that the appliance repair company couldn't repair the refrigerator because the ice maker was no longer available. Finding this difficult to believe we googled the ice maker's part number and found multiple outlets that had them available to sell, including Amazon.com. I called Ninelives to let them know what we had found online. The person on the phone was snarky and also informed me that the ice maker wasn't available anymore, when I informed them that I had found it available at multiple outlets online she admitted that their supplier just didn't have it in stock and it was backordered. I said you can order it on Amazon and have it here tomorrow and she said that "we can't just order it from ANYBODY!". After several back and forth with the warranty company they agreed to let us order the ice maker and install it ourselves. We did, installed it and it works great! The rudeness of the person on the phone, lack of thinking outside the box by Ninelives and their ignoring that they still owe us a new ice maker door is why I'm giving nine lives this abysmal rating and review. I don't like doing that, but it was called for in this case. read more

Ray came out to repair a noisy refrigerator. 5 additional visits later, and a multitude of parts ordered, it never got fixed. They're skilled at scamming the home warranty companies. They just kept ordering parts and charging the HW. What a joke, I don't know how they can stay in business if they can't fix a Whirlpool refrigerator. read more

DO NOT USE They couldn't fix my fridge, it's still leaking and they don't pick up the phone. They did a great job, it would of been 5 stars but the tech tried lying to me about a broken door rubber seal. The tech tried just tucking it on top of the dishwasher, lucky I checked it and noticed it. But I called and complained about it, the next visit the tech apologized and fixed it correctly. I went through my home warranty so not sure how much it normally costs. read more

I want to highly recommend this company. We have a downdraft(a vent behind our stove top that goes up and down) by Best. It was having issues going up and down and through the Manufacturer I was given 9 lives appliance repairs name and number. They far exceeded our expectations. Their technician named Ray came out twice. First time diagnosed the issues, and today replaced the wiring harness and motor. It was an involved repair but this young, smart knowledgable tech took his time and did an outstanding job. The downdraft is still under warranty so the parts were covered, but the labor was not. Even with that it was cheaper than getting a whole new unit and we are back up. Good talent like this company offers are few and far between. From what I was told they work on just about all appliances. Highly highly recommend!!! read more

This company came out via a home warranty repair. I had to wait almost 3 weeks for them. The work they did appears to have fixed the problem with the dryer. However I then left for about 3 weeks. Upon returning I noticed that the dryer is blowing lint everywhere. This can't be safe. I called nine lives to report this issue. It's going to be another 3 weeks for them to return to fix the problem they created. Should be a simple fix according to them, I should be able to find someone else to help me. Not sure that I can. My home warranty set me up with 9 lives. They called promptly and took down all the info as to what was happening with my fridge. They asked if I could send a pic of the model number to expedite the repair. With just that info they ended up calling my warranty company and stated to them it could not be repaired and that it needed to be replaced. Super fast, friendly and professional. 5 stars! read more

We were forced to use this company twice due to our home warranty assigning them to us for repair of a washing machine and trash compactor. Both experiences were terrible. Incredible service and follow up. I have 3 appliances covered by a home warranty policy and I was so very fortunate that the provider for those is Ninelives Appliance Repair. Ray, the technician, is delightful. From the minute he came to the house, his professional approach and knowledge of what needed to be done was impressive. He ensured that everything was working allowing me to experience the fix first hand. For the dryer, a part was required and the office staff was on top of it with a follow up the next day with the eta for that part. If I could give zero stars to this company I would. They were sent to fix our dishwasher by our extended warranty insurance. The worker replaced a pump and when he left my husband ran the dishwasher. After about 10 minutes he walked back into the kitchen to see it flooding our kitchen. When he stopped the water and cleaned up the mess he called the company to send a technician and they said they couldn't send anyone until Monday, it was Wednesday at tag point. Do NOT let this company in to your home. They are incompetent and will make the problem worse. read more

We felt comfortable having him in our home. He accurately diagnosed the issue and the part needed arrived within a week. Spent close to $1200 and 6 months trying to get my oven fixed by Nine Lives. I had an error that the temperature probe was malfunctioning. They couldn't diagnose the problem and changed out all electronics, the heating coil (huh?) among other parts. They finally gave up and requested a replacement oven from Thermador apparently believing it as a lemon and unfixable. First question the mfg asked was if they replace the thermostat (which was the original problem). Nope, they changed out everything BUT what the problem was. Called another service (Best Appliance, Reno) and they came out, discovered the wires on the thermostat had a loose connection and fixed it without replacing anything. Wasted $1200+ and I would give Nine Lives a ZERO if I could. Don't use them They have no idea what they're doing. read more

I placed a service request to American home shield to have my Kenmore Dryer repaired. At which point they directed me to NINELIVES APPLIANCE in Reno Nevada to get get an estimate. NINELIVES APPLIANCE promptly called me and informed me that their service tech would be out to give me an estimate for my repairs in a few days, which happened. Ray the service technician that came to my house was professional, courteous and clean. He explained everything that was wrong with my dryer. Then NINELIVES APPLIANCE coordinated the estimates for repair and approval from American Home Shield. The communication between NINELIVES APPLIANCE and myself was outstanding. We have an extended warranty through rc willey. Had a problem with our washer and dryer. They sent out( 4 times) lake appliance problems never solved. They then sent out nine lives appliance , problems solved in two visits. Only because they had to order parts Their technician Ray is absolutely fabulous! Highly recommend this business. read more

The service guy was very pleasant, but after 3 trips and 300.00 or so later I still have no ice. I have checked u tub and it suggested checking the wiring which runs through the freezer door and diw to the bottom of the fridge. Sure enough as obvious as ever there is at least one disconnected wire. I asked if we could have the tech fix the connection and was told they don't do electrical. Very nice tech but do not really know how to do repairs read more

Dont hire this company unless you want your appliance damaged! The warranty hired this company.The technician came in with a bad attitude , and left 2 dents and a scratch to the metal on my 5month old dryer. It looked brand new until he got a hold of it .I called 9 lives to let them know he damaged my dryer. The manager told me the technition was having family problems and that this is normal for them to leave a ding or a scratch when doing a repair.I have had appliances worked on before, and never had this problem.There excuses are ridiculous and not acceptable. If you are unable to do your job , then dont go to work .I will never let them in my home again! read more

This company obviously does not care about clients or thier employees. My home warranty hired out this company. The technician showed up at my home like every technician does. Then proceeds to turn on my washing machine sticks his key into the safety switch and watches it fill, spin, and drain. Then proceeds to tell me nothing was wrong. That was a 70$ service fee and 15 minutes of staring into the drum. I got a second opinion from another company. First thing the new tech told me was that's not right after seeing the rusted metal fragments in the drum, then he grabbed the drum and gave it a fairly mild shake, said that should not move, then proceeded to turn the machine on and waited for it to spin and put his hand on the agitator and it stopped, also not suppose to happen. Quoted well over 400$ to repair. I like the new company that came out and serviced my washing machine. Don't hire these clowns out they don't know which side is up on a box even if it was labeled. read more
