However, I still called and spoke to Sherri, explained we didn't want a refund but to exchange for one that would fit. She was so helpful and understanding and allowed us to make an exchange. Their guy removed the part (Spider Gear), it was a bit time consuming, but I completely understood as I had just done the work to remove my own and found it disintegrating on the inner stainless tub. Nicole charged a fair price for the used replacement part, but upon removal they could not tap the bolts out. Due to the pot metal (Zinc blend) on these Spider Gears. Nicole further discounted the part, so that I could proceed to take it home and tap these bolts out myself. Ultimately, the part did not work for me, as the metal framework (being softer than the bolts) cracked as the bolts were tapped out. However I was still impressed with their professional and fair conduct with this transaction and if I need a washer/dryer or any parts in the future, I will definitely come to them first. Shawn A.

I found 1 Handyman Service on Somersett Nextdoor when our ice maker in our refrigerator door…read morestopped working. I texted Elijah and he responded promptly and advised he could be here 2 days later. I sent him photos of the make and model ahead of time. When he showed up he immediately assessed the situation and discovered that our crushed ice feature had frozen up and blocked any ice from exiting the dispenser on the door. Elijah is very thorough and pulled the fridge out from the wall only to find that the guys that installed it 2 years ago didn't tighten the water line all the way. So not only did he honestly research and repair our issue he found another potential problem and corrected it before it became a major issue. I asked him questions as he worked and he answered me with knowledge and patience. I would highly recommend Elijah to all my friends and neighbors. I can trust him and I know he stands behind his work. Thankfully I now have a dependable and reliable appliance repairman.

I called Lakeland because I had already tried to troubleshoot my 10 year old fridge that died…read moremyself. I was at the limit of what I could figure out, and hoped that they might be able to help me either fix it or advise me on whether I should get a new one. Tom called me back a few hours later, and patiently spent 20 minutes on the phone with me. Ultimately, he determined that I HAD actually fixed it myself, and that the issue I was identifying related to it not working when I plugged it back in after unplugging it while running was normal. He explained in detail, and provided information that will help me going forward. The conversation cost him his time (and money) but was free for me. I haven't had to work with anyone else in the area, but I can assure you that Tom will be the first person I call for any appliance issues going forward. The willingness to spend his time without suggesting for a fee bearing appointment demonstrates his care for his trade and his customers, even though I wasn't one yet. While I don't wish for any appliance repairs in the future, I know there will be a need. I only hope that Tom won't be retired by then.
