Leo was an expert and had a fun personality. He arrived on time during our 1st meet, came prepared with his tools, and worked immediately. I was missing a camera during this install (which he was fully aware of prior to coming by) so we agreed that he will just come back to complete the remaining 1/3 of the job. After the first install, he asked me to pay him approximately 85% of the agreed amount. I didn't mind because I was satisfied with the output and trusted our plan of meeting again. I paid via Venmo. The major mishap I experienced was that it got extremely difficult to reach him for the 2nd appointment. I tried to schedule something with him between July 5th and the job was completed only today (July 23rd). I found it unpleasant to have to chase him around and text him so much just so he can get back to me after so many days. A client should not feel like that she has to beg for a job to be fully completed, especially when it's already been about 85% paid. That part was very unprofessional. Leo ended up sending his apprentice/brother who pretty much made up for the wait! Leonardo was great, had perseverance, and a great demeanor. Leo saved the day and possibly lives. Not hyperbole. My new tenants reported seeing black streaks around an outlet. They smelled burning when they plugged in an outlet strip. I submitted a project on Thumbtack and Leo -- on a Sunday night -- got back to me quickly with a fair estimate. He setup an appointment with my tenant for the next day. He fixed the issue and texted me before and after pictures and explained the problem. Aluminum and copper wires were twisted together. I'm a layperson and I know that's dangerous. This electrical stuff is no joke. Especially with these older buildings. (This one was built in 1974.) Do not hesitate; call an electrician ASAP. Hired Leo on Yelp to replace two tandem fuses in my fuse box. One of which was for the dishwasher, because it was crackling and would shut off under load. Last fall, the ceiling lights and ceiling fan in my master bedroom abruptly stopped working. After verifying that it wasn't just a tripped circuit breaker that needed to be reset, I started calling around to find a local electrician. It was a Friday night, It wasn't an emergency, but it was an annoyance that I wanted fixed as soon as possible to see if I could reach someone who could come out over the weekend. When I called Leo's phone and got his voicemail, I hung up and planned to call back in the morning. Leo called me back right away though from the caller ID info. He said he had missed picking up the call and wanted to be sure the call wasn't an emergency or immediate hazard. We set up an appointment for him to come the next day. I had inquired about three small jobs (two lighting and one doorbell replacement) and a potential fourth for rewiring a light switch. All four jobs were easy enough for him to complete in a day, and he did just that---actually completed them within hours.
