I so wanted an egg everything but could risk seeds in my teeth so plain egg it was. The garlic and herb cream cheese was everything. The only thing I regrets is not putting bacon on my cream cheese bagel. You walk up to the window and order with the nicest staff. Love the cute storefront they have. I came on a Wednesday morning and there was a very short line... but there was also a small crowd of folks eating and waiting...maybe like 10 people ahead of me waiting? The wait was ok - probably less than 10 minutes to get my food. 1st - the price is OK... roughly $18 for the classic lox. I think that is normal for NYC prices? 2nd - the bagel was not good. With peace & love - my review is not to speak to the quality of bagels, it's to speak to management as someone living in the neighborhood since Leon's opened up and how the restaurant has impacted the block. Please put more trash cans out, Leon's has maybe two medium sized trash cans out for the mass amount of customers that come through. I walk by every day and guess what ... Leon's trash cans are always full so what happens ... ppl either 1. Use city trash cans that fill up quickly due to the large amount of customers and ofc NYC is windy so Leons trash blows everywhere & i consistently see Leons bagel litter which is obviously not good for the planet or 2. Customers use other small businesses' trash cans to throw out their waste which is literally straining those small businesses bc Leon's doesn't put out enough trash cans. With the level of success Leon's has made, please put out more trash cans and hire another employee to take them out more regularly so customers don't have to use city trash cans that inevitably blow into the street or add difficulty to other business owners. I'm happy to see a business thriving but please think about how you can evolve your practice to be a courteous neighbor that uplifts the block and not make it dirty !!! read more

Perfect bagel spot! I've seen these green/white bags all over the city. So glad to finally try it. I got the bacon egg and cheese on egg everything with hot sauce. Perfectly constructed sandwich. The walk up window was very clean. They had umbrellas to stand under on the sidewalk. Staff wiring the window were swiped friendly and had great energy for being in the rain. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Honestly, I don't understand the hype, or the line down the block that we had to wait on. I have seen Leon's all-over social media and my friend and I just happened to pass by when we were hungry. My BEC was overloaded with salt and took up almost all of the bagel. The egg was dry and falling out of the ends of it. I understand it's a busy place, but I was expecting the quality to be a bit better. I will never go back. Go to Tompkins instead. read more

I kept hearing people rave about Leon's Bagels, so of course I had to check it out while I was in New York and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I'd honestly put it up there as one of the best bagels I've ever had. I ordered the egg, bacon, and cheese, and wow... just perfect. The bagel itself had that ideal balance crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside and the sandwich was stacked just right. Nothing greasy, nothing falling apart, just really well done. It was so good that I actually went back the very next day and even grabbed a few extra to take home with me. The vibe of the place is pretty chill too. It's simple, quick, and you can tell they focus on doing one thing really, really well. Even with a bit of a line, it moved fast, and the staff was friendly. They also have cool merchandise. Mini shops in New York have long lines that blocked the sidewalks but they have a nice set up where the line is split and you wait on either side of the sidewalk until it's your turn. I had never had a bagel except from Panera and when they heard that they all went "aghhhhhhhh" and they were right it was so much better. It was large and chewy. There was a small sit down stall across from the place where most were enjoying their bagels and beverage. We started our day trip in NY this past weekend with coffee and bagels. For the bagels we came to Leon's which was a 4 minute walk from Park at KIMS coffee shop. Leon's Bagels are probably one of the most tasty bagels here in NYC! Top three for sure. I am so glad I found this place one day while just walking around. I have been interested to see how their egg sandwiches are as I have seen people eat it and they look amazing! There is no where to sit inside for these bagel locations. If it is nice out they do have some benches outside and people have stood around to enjoy their bagels. But if it's bad weather you may just want to take it home and enjoy it there. This was the third of three bagel spots we tried while in NYC and are we happy we did. My daughter is a bagel freak and made sure we hit this shop.
