I have had 2 experiences dealing with Leonardi. Both, excellent. They have definitely earned their 60+ years of success. My first experience was a couple of months ago, when I needed a part for my washer. After finding it online for one price, I called Leonardi, who had it in stock for a few dollars more. When I pointed out the price difference, they matched it, down to the penny. It was so much better than waiting a week or more! While I was there getting the part, I took a look around at their new and reconditioned appliances. While the showroom is small and limited, I was told they can get anything from Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana or Kitchenaid. I was soon going to close on a new house, which had absolutely no appliances. I didn't imagine that Leonardi, being so small, would be able to be competitive in pricing. So I spent days and days searching online and visiting every single big box store I could think of. The best prices I could find were at ABT in Glenview. I brought my estimate from ABT to Leonardi, and they were able to beat every price on a full set of beautiful Whirlpool White Ice appliances. The financing was easy, with 0% for 12 months. I felt good purchasing my appliances there, because they do in-house repairs. The protection plans are also superior than all others, because if you don't use your protection plan, Leonardi will buy it back from you in the form of store credit when you go to buy new appliances! That is a protection plan I can feel good about spending my hard-earned money on. It's also really nice to be able to call the store and get someone on the line who you know by name. What service! I messaged Sunday night that my dishwasher was leaking and I got a message right back to turn off my water and call first thing in the morning. Dan came out early in the time window, diagnosed and got things dry and tidy. He ordered parts, gave an estimate and we agreed for him to come back Friday first thing. His repair was quick and on the way out, he stopped my washing machine squeak! We recently remodeled our kitchen and bought all of our appliances from Leonardi. My instinct was to go to a local, family business so that I would get better service than a big box store. And was I ever right! They were amazing. From knowledge of appliances, to ease of purchasing (I only made one trip to the store -- other questions/options were handled via email), to delivery and installation . . . they were great. An example: when our contractor needed a template to cut an opening for the microwave vent, the owner drove it to my house after hours! I called up to get a quote on getting someone out to my house to repair our dryer and once they found out it was an LG, the guy told me to contact who I bought it from. I explained that it came with the house when we bought it and he was very short and said talking over me, i don't know what to tell you, we don't work on Lg or Samsung, and hung up. read more

Just amazing! I called them to help with a jamming issue of a garbage disposal unit and some noise issues coming from a dryer at a rental house. I found them from all the 5-star reviews on yelp. Apparently, they had enjoyed such excellent reviews that they did not need any additional business. I called and a lady picked up. I took it as a good sign. After hearing about the garbage disposal unit, she then told me if they could not loosen the unit, the cost of replacement the disposal was $125 and the installation was $129. I had the jamming issue before and all it took was a key to loosen it. Unfortunately, I no longer had the key. I was fine with having them put in a new one, if they could not fix the problem. Then, she had suggested the earliest opening was a week out. I was fine with that, given the holidays coming up. Then she wanted to know the make and model of my dryer. I didn't have it at the time and I needed to get back to her. She said she could not schedule the appointment without knowing the model number. So, I contacted my tenant and got the model number. I called back the first thing the next morning and talked to the lady. (Not sure if she is the same lady. I wasn't paying attention). She acknowledged that they did service the dryer model, but the earliest time available would be 2 weeks out. So I asked her what happened to a week out? She said a million people had called in between. Okay, fine. Now she wanted to know the make and model of the garbage disposal. Okay, I would have to find that out. Could I still schedule the appointment? No, because they could only service two makes of garbage disposal units. She said I could go back to the place where I bought the unit from to get repairs. At this point, I said okay I would try someone else. To be fair, I did not have my units serviced by this company, which might have done a fabulous job. Their company "screener" has done an impeccable job keeping customers away. By the way, their company description on yelp states, "You can depend on our factory-trained and authorized technicians to fix any make or model at a price you will be happy with". I was looking for a company that can address my issues quickly and conveniently. I thought I had found one from the description and the reviews, but I was mistaken. read more

I had an incredible experience with Leonardo's today! My gas dryer just stopped working and I started thinking I needed a new dryer and spend $600-700 or at least spend $100 to repair it. I called the store and Dan picked up. He was super helpful and asked me for the model # and looked it up and told me to walk over and test out the door sensor. Viola! It had broken and I was told it's a pretty easy thing to replace and he walked me through it and told me that the part cost under $20. I am floored how honest and efficient he was. I bet I will go to them next time I need an appliance repair or buy a new appliance! Kudos! read more

This family owned store carries only brands that they can service (they know they can get the parts) at prices comparable to the big box stores and even offer financing and extended service plans (without high pressure sales). I like the idea of buying from a company who services as well (as opposed to farming the service out). My oven stopped working the week before Christmas (of course). I was able to get an appointment 1 day after calling and I even received a courtesy call 45 minutes prior to Ryan's arrival so that I didn't have to miss too much work. Ryan was extremely courteous and knew exactly what he was doing (his guess was blown thermal fuses, and he was correct) He even noticed a tiny problem with my storm door and fixed it on his way out, which was so unexpectedly kind.
