Since my truck was out of warranty, I wasn't sure where to turn. I reached out through Yelp and heard back from Ed almost immediately. He had a good idea of what might be wrong and invited me to bring the truck in for an assessment. After inspecting it, he identified damage (caused by rats) to the transmission wiring harness, which had unfortunately caused internal damage. He walked me through everything clearly and provided a very reasonable estimate for a full rebuild. Throughout the entire process, Ed was easy to communicate with, always professional, and genuinely helpful with his advice. What really stood out was how he went above and beyond after the repair. I was told this type damage might be covered under my comprehensive auto insurance. Ed then took the time to work directly with my insurance company--providing detailed documentation and expert insight. Because of his effort and experience, the claim was approved and the repair ended up being fully covered. That level of service is rare these days. I truly appreciate Ed's honesty, professionalism, and follow-through. He did exactly what he said he would do and then some. I wouldn't hesitate to come back or recommend him to anyone in need of transmission work.

One of the reasons I chose them was because they've been in business for more than 48 years and had consistently great reviews. I also like reading the one-star reviews because, let's be honest, you really can't please everyone. I just wanted to find an honest and trustworthy shop. I called and spoke with Ron right before closing time. He took the time to listen to everything I was experiencing, explained what he thought the issue could be, and told me to bring the van in the next morning. Their shop opens at 8:00 AM, but when I arrived around 7:45 AM, they were already there working on vehicles. When I walked in, Ron remembered our conversation from the previous day, which immediately made me feel comfortable. He scanned my van but didn't notice anything unusual. He reset my ECM and another setting, and thankfully that solved the problem. What impressed me the most was that Ron didn't charge me a dime for his time or help, even though I genuinely wanted to give him something for helping me out. I drove all the way from Disneyland back home to Northern California without a single issue afterward. It has 200K miles on it and I am hoping to put another 200K on it with Valentine's help. This time it was a bad fuel pump that was damaged after I ran out of gas and tried to start the car several times. Now, let me ask an engineering & design question. Would you integrate the fuel pump inside of the fuel tank so that when (not if) the fuel pump fails, you have to replace the entire gas tank assembly?? After all... this is not rocket science!!! Who designed this??? Valentine was very accommodating and explained the problem and the solution to me before any work started. This makes any customer confident that he brought his vehicle to the right place. I highly recommend these guys to work on your hybrid vehicle.

When it came time to move forward with the repairs about a month later Junior honored that estimate. Communication with the shop was great with Junior in easy contact via text. All of the work was done within a week and they ended up also replacing the battery, an ac hose and trunk button at no extra labor charge. It's been a month now and the car continues to run great. I explained to him that my power steering pump and my power steering gearbox needed replacing, and that I had both parts already. He told me to bring it in, which I did by tow truck on a Friday evening. By Saturday morning before 12pm, he called and said that my truck was ready to go. He was SO helpful even though it was not something he covers (because my car was so old the parts and wire diagram not easy to source). I was so impressed with his detective style in figuring out what the problem was and then not even charging me, I can see why he maintains a 5 star rating! I'm definitely coming back here for regular car service items, he is so helpful, friendly and honest, just a fantastic mechanic!

They quoted me way under anyone else that I had called prior to going with them. I will recommend A-1 Muffler Express to all of my friends and family. They all make you feel that you're part of the family. They offered me coffee and cold water while I waited for my car to be done. One thing to remember, they are experts in mufflers, exhaust systems, and not any other type of work. But it never hurts to ask if they can do it for you!

I originally brought my car in after getting a warning to stop immediately. I called around and got multiple quotes and they had the best deal. Andrew who answered the phone was incredibly friendly and correctly diagnosed it as a battery issue right away. He walked me through the difference between a refurbished and new battery and I chose the refurbished option which came with a one year warranty. Unfortunately the battery failed shortly after but never in my life have I experienced customer service like this. They offered to pick up my car and drop off a loaner. That alone is exceptional. Owner Ivan took full responsibility without hesitation and the turnaround time was phenomenal. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. I don't live nearby but I will absolutely be coming back for all future service. On 3/2/15 I recieved a phone call from my 19 yr old daughter who lives in Southern California, she was in a state of panic because her Infinity FX 35 was running rough and sluggish and was not able to go faster than 35 mph without it revving up really high. From her description of the problem I determined the car may have a transmission problem. Me being 400 miles away in Northern California I turned to the Internet to find a tra nsmission repair shop. The first repair shop I picked was the closest to my daughters home. I told her to drive the car there. The car was there a very short time when I received a call from them and they quoted me a price that seemed very high. I told them to wait until I talked to my daughter. I made a few phone calls to transmission repair shops here in Northern California including the Infinity dealer and they all agreed that was a very high estimate. So I went back to the Internet and read the yelp reviews on numerous transmission shops and found Leon's transmission repair to have the best reviews regarding quality work and reasonable prices with courtesy and informative services. I called Leon's transmission and spoke to John and without seeing the car he an approximate quote which was 1/3 less the first shop we went to. Within 3 or 4 hours after speaking to John my car was towed to Leon's and Dwayne who works with John called me after he thoroughly inspected the car and walked me through the whole process of fixing the transmission problem. During their inspection they determined that the radiator I just had installed 3 months earlier had been installed incorrectly causing the transmission problem. I would recommend Leon's transmission to everyone because through the whole process my daughter was treated with courtesy. They informed her of the process and they assured her that all the old parts would be available for her inspection and the reason they were replaced. Through the whole process they would send me pictures of the repair before, during and after of the work done to the car. They were in constant contact with me via phone, text and email regarding the work. I was thankful as a customer but I was most thankful as a parent because of the treatment my daughter received by Dwayne. My daughter was so upset because she lives 400 miles from our family and they made her feel at ease. I wish Leon's was in Northern California to take care of my other car needs. I've had my Chrysler there a few times for various different issues. (Yeah, I need a new car) They've ALWAYS been friendly, helpful, honest, and willing to work with my situation. My car started having issues and I took it somewhere else. After a week, they still didn't know what was wrong with my car so I brought it to Leon's. They had it diagnosed in a day. John and Dwayne were very helpful every time I had an issue. (And I assure you, I'm quite the pain in the butt...) I'm not your typical female. I know a little bit about cars (since I've owned quite a few jalopies in my life) so it's very frustrating to me when I call or go to a mechanic and they try to sell me something I don't need or act like I'm just some stupid girl who doesn't know what they're talking about. I just laugh and hang up on those guys. Neither John nor Dwayne did that with me and it was very appreciated. They didn't quit until I was satisfied with my car. If I still felt that something needed attention, they were happy to oblige and take another look without seeming impatient or frustrated with me (again, I know I'm a pain in the butt when it comes to these things.) This place should not be in business they do terrible work. I paid well over $3,000 for a rebuilt transmission that they warrantied for 2 years. 27 months later, the transmission goes bad. I tried speaking with the owner, but no one at the shop would give me any contact information. I contacted Jim ferguson, which is the area manager, who assured me that if I get the car to a shop(I'm no longer living in the area)and have the mechanic contact him, he would help take care of it. I got the car to a shop, and the mechanic told me that there were all kinds of errors when the transmission was put together and that the transmission was no good. The mechanic contacted Jim and made him aware of the errors and what it would cost to rebuild a new transmission. Since then, Jim has avoided all of my calls, and no one at Leon's transmission will give me the owner's number, name, or any kind of contact information. I was not asking Jim to fully reimburse me for the transmission, just maybe some sort of help on the cost to fix it. There's no way a rebuilt transmission for that price should only last 27 months. This place is a total ripoff and accepts no accountability for their work. read more

I'm an Arborists with many fleets ready to go. I remember we came across a situation were we took one of our fleets to 4 different mechanics and no luck and the last one recomended Leons Transmission . After 4 days into desperation and waste of money we dropped truck with leons transmissions and they called me 30 minutes later, "come and get your car" I was speech less , really . They found a button that was accidentally pressed to engage PTO optional and they sure thought me a different lesson. In a word Leon's is great. If you have transmission issues do yourself a favor and go to Leon's first. You will not regret it. Straight shooting no BS and not expensive. All the guys there are good to work with. I worked with Rick. I also talked to a couple of the mechanics directly about my problem. And I was invited to come and see my car while it was being worked on, to see the actual problem. They also helped me get my car there for the transmission rebuild. I was so happy with the service I took my Mom's Honda there for transmission work. They do all makes and models. It was out of the way for me since I live in south Orange County. But it was worth it. This past September I had seven kids break down on their way to Disneyland. Several people that stopped to help them suggested they had a broken transmission. My husband called a few friends in California in the area and someone suggested Leon's transmission. Rick had a chance to look at the van and found out it was not the transmission, but a broken bolt from the wheel well that had broken off. When he called me I was so grateful and he was so understanding . He didn't charge me anything for the bolt and the kids were able to drive the van home. He was truly a blessing in this situation. Very prompt service! I dropped my Mustang off in the late afternoon with Rick and was able to pick it up in the early morning. My transmission was making a funny noise, turns out it was missing a few bolts. They replaced the bolts free of charge! They did not charge me for labor or anything. Don't go here, when I checked my transmission oil and got my transmission fixed, they were the ones who put the last fluid in my transmission. When I checked the transmission fluid through using the meter stick. The oil exploded quick upon checking due to overfilled transmission fluid, the transmission fluid I changed was dirty and it was just a few weeks until I changed it on this date. read more

Happy Day Thank you for great service. Three other inspections yielded a totaled truck. Dwayne inspected my truck and found the differential needed some work. That was it. Now my 2000 Dodge Dakota and I are on the road again. Happy motoring. Thank you. read more

One of the reasons I chose them was because they've been in business for more than 48 years and had consistently great reviews. I also like reading the one-star reviews because, let's be honest, you really can't please everyone. I just wanted to find an honest and trustworthy shop. I called and spoke with Ron right before closing time. He took the time to listen to everything I was experiencing, explained what he thought the issue could be, and told me to bring the van in the next morning. Their shop opens at 8:00 AM, but when I arrived around 7:45 AM, they were already there working on vehicles. When I walked in, Ron remembered our conversation from the previous day, which immediately made me feel comfortable. He scanned my van but didn't notice anything unusual. He reset my ECM and another setting, and thankfully that solved the problem. What impressed me the most was that Ron didn't charge me a dime for his time or help, even though I genuinely wanted to give him something for helping me out. I drove all the way from Disneyland back home to Northern California without a single issue afterward. Since my truck was out of warranty, I wasn't sure where to turn. I reached out through Yelp and heard back from Ed almost immediately. He had a good idea of what might be wrong and invited me to bring the truck in for an assessment. After inspecting it, he identified damage (caused by rats) to the transmission wiring harness, which had unfortunately caused internal damage. He walked me through everything clearly and provided a very reasonable estimate for a full rebuild. Throughout the entire process, Ed was easy to communicate with, always professional, and genuinely helpful with his advice. What really stood out was how he went above and beyond after the repair. I was told this type damage might be covered under my comprehensive auto insurance. Ed then took the time to work directly with my insurance company--providing detailed documentation and expert insight. Because of his effort and experience, the claim was approved and the repair ended up being fully covered. That level of service is rare these days. The great thing is.... Valentine does!!! That's why I only trust Valentine and his crew to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair my vintage 2007 Toyota Prius. It has 200K miles on it and I am hoping to put another 200K on it with Valentine's help. This time it was a bad fuel pump that was damaged after I ran out of gas and tried to start the car several times. Now, let me ask an engineering & design question. Would you integrate the fuel pump inside of the fuel tank so that when (not if) the fuel pump fails, you have to replace the entire gas tank assembly?? After all... this is not rocket science!!! Who designed this??? Valentine was very accommodating and explained the problem and the solution to me before any work started. A few hours later, I called for an update and was told they had found a parasitic battery drain and needed to run additional tests. Later that day, they called back and said the problem was simply a faulty battery and that replacing it would solve the issue. I approved the repair, which ended up costing about $430 for the battery. After picking up the car, I immediately noticed that some of the electronics were not working correctly and it still felt like the battery was being drained. Because the original diagnosis didn't seem to match the symptoms, I took the vehicle to Al's Electric Repair in Anaheim, a shop that had successfully fixed an electrical issue on another vehicle of mine. Al's quickly identified a parasitic drain caused by a camera installed inside the cabin. Once they repaired the drain, the electrical issues disappeared and the car has been running properly ever since. What concerns me is that the first shop initially told me they had found a parasitic drain, but later concluded that the battery was the only problem. Whether the battery needed replacement or not, the actual drain remained and was causing the issues I brought the car in for. Based on my experience, Al's Electric Repair accurately diagnosed and repaired the problem, and they have now successfully resolved electrical issues on two of my vehicles.
