Just left this place. Convenient to where I run many of my errands. Thought I'd stop in for a breakfast. Not friendly. Specials on half portions. Food was good. Here's the thing. Noticed an up charge because I asked for Sourdough bread. Toast was included but I was charged more for the type? Waitress never mentioned it. Shady and desperate. My dad bought breakfast for my mom and I for Mother's Day. It was a take out order. (We live like 2 mins ago from here) The food was cold and gross. Could not even finish the food. We throw it away. I love a good coney. So many options around the area but this one is the closest. It was always just mediocre service and never followed the posted hours. Now there is a sign that says new ownership. Hopefully the owner isn't going to make it worse but based on the coneys I got last week may be cutting food cost is the owners goal. You can't serve a coney by splashing just a little all beef chili in the middle and sprinkling on 5 onions bits. The coney should be covered in chili and onions with a solid line of mustard in the middle. We got 5 coney dogs and this was the BEST one. We honestly though the first couple were outliers but they were all terrible! New ownership fix this! I can't believe a Coney Island has this many bad reviews! We had a take out order and there was hair in 3 of the items. When I called to let them know they said they could remake the food so I said OK. After taking with my wife, no one was hungry after the hairy batch so I called back to get a refund but they said they couldn't do that since the food was being made. I drove back and returned the food and the 3 pieces of hair, but the manager said there was no way hair got into 3 different items. I understand things are stressful during COVID but we paid and tipped for carry out so offering a refund seems reasonable. We will only go the Leos in South Lyon from now on. read more

Not sure what happened with my order last night But order was not correct but there were a lot of issues #1 - Ordered tossed salad with e chicken and feta and it had shredded cheddar on it. #2 - Ordered chicken noodle soup and was give lemon rice #3 - Ordered Chicken finger pita with Fries and ranch - NO RANCH. #4 - Chicken Finger pita had a hair in it. Brought my daughter for lunch. We normally visit the location on Ann Arbor rd. The chicken finger pita is my usual order and this was very consistent with my expectations. My daughter had the lemon rice soup. Food came out quick and hot. Food is as expected of a Coney Island. I pulled off a small piece of mold on the hot dog bun. Hog dogs could be better quality and coney sauce is generic. Restaurant is fairly clean and could use an update. Bathroom will....let's just say I wouldn't touch anything. Really unacceptable is Fox News playing on the only two televisions. For this reason I avoid this one and go to another Coney Island nearby. Much better lunch experience. This restaurant really needs to cater to all customers. read more

I Love LEO'S BUT.....this one s off the list. All Leos are franchises, so privately owned. THIS IS THE ONLY ONE I'VE ENCOUNTERED THAT HAS THIS RULE!!!!! You can always get your refill to go on pop at every other Leo's, but thIs one....YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR IT IN A TO GO CUP with your inItial order or SORRY....the waitress came back with a small coffee cup instead of their normal sized cup of Diet Coke....I asked her why and she said you have to ask for it when you order or you don't get it. I asked her how we're supposed to know that.....not on the menu and she didn't tell us.....and it's not the policy of any other Leo's Ive been in......she just shrugged her shoulders...I had left her a 30% tip and took 10% back. I like coney islands. I miss coney islands. I want a coney island near me in Minnesota. Although I suppose if they were around I would be a lot rounder than I currently am. However, on my last trip I'm happy to report I am now down to one coney with everything and a small Greek salad from 2 coneys with everything, fries and a salad. Everytime I am back in Michigan a coney island is a must because they are delicious. read more

As far as coney places go, this one's an A-OK place. Steady service, good quality coney food (and generous salads) and importantly, a clean place. Homemade rice pudding is really good. read more

I brought my family to this restaurant. They usually have decent service and good food, but after this last visit, I don't think I'm willing to go back again. First off, they brought my children's food out first, and me and my wife ended up waiting 5 minutes before our food even arrived, did they forget? Now here's the part that really angered me, I ordered 2 Coney dogs, the buns were stale, the hot dogs were burnt, and the chili was dry. Don't go here. It's just not worth it. Go to the Coney Island in downtown Plymouth if you want a Coney Island. Service was slow and unimpressive. We had to seat ourselves. Employee attire added to the VERY cheap image of the place. They could have been nicer, and you have to walk to the counter to pay, which I'm not a big fan of. Food was bad. I don't eat when my friend brings me to these places, but she was highly unimpressed. The saganaki was made terribly and apparently they "don't have the license" to light it on fire at the table for you, which is maybe 55% of the reason to get it. As far as coney islands are concerned, this one is top of the line. I haven't been disappointed by them once. The only reason they get three instead of four stars is because while the waitresses work hard, the place seems to be a little understaffed for the volume of people that are usually in the restaurant. I get take out from this coney every Sunday. Their staff is always super friendly and pleasant. Their food is delicious too! I am ADDICTED to the chicken kabob with tzaziki sauce. Whenever I call in, they always make sure to clarify that I know i am calling the Sheldon location as opposed to Ann Arbor location, which i think is really nice, since sometimes customers can pick the wrong location by accident. Went here to eat with my mother and the server I had seem more interested in her regular than us . I ordered saganaki and it was undercooked and still cold in the center. Perhaps slowest service I've experienced at a coney. Sat down with 2 hungry kids and and said we need hot dogs as quickly as possible. 10 minutes in they brought me a salad which I couldn't eat because kids were melting down. I pleaded for hot dogs. This is the worst Leo's location in Southeast Michigan. The waitresses are nonexistent hide in the kitchen and it's impossible to get a refill on coffee. The griddle is not cleaned properly and taste of rancid oil. Save your money and go to the Red Olive restaurant. They should be out of business soon. read more

We order from here regularly - or I should say we USED to as I will never order from this location again. Called in a carry out order and when I got back home with it part of the order was missing. So I called back and the person realized the mistake but I had to drive all the way back and when I got there they still had not made the food - as if I am going to wait when I've already had to drive there twice! The owner only offered to give me my money back for the item I paid for but never got! Gee thanks! I said "I just want my money back and I'm insulted that that is all you offer me for my trouble." Found hair in my takeout rice yesterday. Drove all the way back to not receive a proper apology or refund. The only compensation they willingly wanted to give me was for me to wait for another rice dish. yeah, like I was going to wait for that. Instead, I had to persuade the cashier to refund me. Yikes.
