Yikes...that's a lot of not great reviews! On the bright side this is one of my regular spots with my little boy. We come for breakfast and so far it's been on par with pretty much every Leo's I've been to. Last we were here he gave it a big thumbs up for their over-easy eggs and the hashbrowns. They do simple well. Service has been good, and the clientele has been friendly. It's a nice more-chill spot than Lucas' when you don't want to fight the crowd, or when you just want a quiet breakfast. read more

While you would think it's hard to mess up a Coney Island, alas the South Lyon Leo's does. Each time we go back to see if it has improved, it has not. Do yourself a favor and go a mile up the road to Lucas- which hands down does a superb job with each to go or sit down meal. We've had mixed experiences at Leo's locations, but we kept an open mind on our first stop at this one, picking up takeout on our way to a brewpub. We were pleased overall. I ordered the chicken kebab w/ a small greek salad on the side. Chicken was a little dry, but well seasoned. The green pepper and onion skewered with it had a nice char on it, and the tzadziki I slathered it all in was fresh with good dill flavor. Salad vegetables were a little wilted, but dressing was excellent, zingy and not too oily. My wife went with her Leo's standby, the chicken finger pita, which was up to snuff, but didn't come with the mayonnaise we requested. My tzadziki took its place. Worst food I ever had. They need to get a new chef. Ordered their breakfast special three meats. With scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. scrambled eggs were way over cooked, hashbrowns were white, bacon wasn't bad, the ham was paper thin and sausage links were way over cooked. The last two times I have gone to this location everything was awful. We only went there because the other Coney Island was closed. It was about 8:30 in the morning and there was just one waitress working. I heard her tell the cook that somebody offered to come in early but she told them they didn't need to. Well, yes they did! My food was lukewarm, the toast was dry as sand. There was no butter on the table and she never asked us if everything was ok. She passed by our table with her eyes averted so we could not complain or ask for anything. We cashed ourselves out at the credit card machine. This is the most incompetent group of workers I have ever seen...we love ordering from Leo's, but I will make the longer drive to the Brighton location even though this one is 3 miles from my house..they forget AT LEAST one thing every single time we get carry out. We ask for no tomatoes, we get tomatoes. We ask for extra dressing, we get none at all. They even forget to include some entrees all together..if we don't look through the entire bag when picking up, we always have to go back to get the forgotten items..it is the most frustrating thing I have ever experienced with any restaurant EVER! Just horrible, overall. They consistently mess up to-go orders, even when placed online where there's pretty much no room for error. Today they forgot a couple items on my order, so one person didn't get their food. For my $4.99 order of chili fries I got 2 ounces of chili. A tiny cup. On top of that, the saganaki was inedible, because the flour hadn't even been cooked off (mmmmm raw flour). This was after I had pre-paid with a $3 tip. I would stop double knotting your to-go bags closed before the customer arrives, and go through the order with people when they get there. It will save everyone a lot of hassle. read more

I work nights and on my way home would order the same subpar Greek salads with chicken twice a week in the morning and leave a generous tip because of covid. Every time the salads were lacking in some way but kept getting them because they were on my way home. This last visit they forgot my chicken and dressings and the waitress did nothing but want to fight & argue with me.Said I would have to repurchase the salads if I wanted chicken. I told her I order the exact same thing every week and I shouldn't have to pay for all their mistakes, and all she said was I probably didn't ask for chicken! How is this place still open? The entire place smells like sewage. Don't go in the bathroom or you will die from the smell. We were only people there and the waitresses couldn't be bothered to check on us. Instead, they sat in a booth with their feet up on the seats scrolling their phones. We had to shout across the restaurant to even get their attention. Food was awful. Pita bread tasted bad and taziki sauce is not actual taziki. It was sour cream with lemon flavor added to it. y'all, this place sucks. this is now two different times in a matter of three months (we haven't been back or ordered from them since the first time this happened) that I have gotten spoiled food from this restaurant. this is also the second time they have refused to take responsibility or accountability for serving rotten ingredients in their food. I called up to tell them about this and was essentially called a liar and told that the item in question was just fine the day prior. sorry, if it smells rotten as soon as you open the container, there is a gigantic problem. the fact the staff can't smell that something is rotten is an even bigger concern. Oh Leo's... You must've ignored my throwing down the wifi gauntlet here on Yelp yesterday. Because while you do indeed have a wifi network, it was locked when I visited today. Sorry Leo's. I am a man of my word: you lose a star. Other than the foolishness of having no public wifi... I like this Leo's. I would even call this the best Coney Island in South Lyon: -It is clean. -The wait staff is generally friendly and helpful. -Take-out is FAST. -I prefer most of the food items to nearby Lucas Coney Island (though Lucas' Special Coney is a dog to be reckoned with). -The prices are cheaper than the Senate Coney Island. That said, where Brown's menu conflicts with Leo's...Brown's wins almost every time. ...Almost. Leo's Rueben is the best Reuben in town. It is better than Brown's, Big Boy's, and the South Lyon Grill's Ruebens. Here at Leo's I recommend: -The aforementioned Rueben. I order it with extra-crispy fries. -The chili without beans. -The baby greek salad. If you want bigger though...order two baby greeks. I find this place stiffs you on toppings on larger salads. Tried this place for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Have to agree with the other reviews that say this place isn't we'll run. We seated ourselves, waited a few minutes and a waitress came over to get our drink order. Then we waited and waited and waited. No coffee. The waitress never came anywhere near our table and other waitresses ran on by. This is breakfast on a Saturday morning and it felt like someone could have noticed no coffee. After 10 minutes of waiting for coffee and iced tea we left. We couldn't imagine how long it might take to actually get food. read more

I've had problems previously while ordering carry out , like missing items or wrong dressings. After today I don't think I'll ever return! Service was super lame (I think her name was Alex?) , didn't ask how food was and didn't care how we were doing. Basically what you can expect at this type of place. No personable service, no connection, nothing. These girls just want to make their money and leave, they don't care if a customer returns or not! And the bathrooms were absolutely DISGUSTING which is the main reason why I wrote this review. It smelled so terrible, like someone just took a dump in the middle of the bathroom and left it there . Im not sure if this was our server or the cook but I went to eat at leos with my friend and boyfriend. Hes very allergic to tomatoes. He orders a ceaser salad and she brought it to him with cucumber and tomatoes??? Why?? A ceaser doesn't come with either of those, ever! So she took it back they picked the tomatoes out and gave it back. Needless to say he left pissed and hungry. Well, I don't know what is going on at this Leo's. It almost feels like they are doing things their own way. And it is not in a good way. My wife and I will always seek out a Leo's because we not only enjoy their food but, equally important to us, is their consistency. Today we ordered a bowl of hot dog chili and it was dripping with some grease and the meat was kind of red. We asked the waitress and of course, nobody notices anything out of the originary. It was not the awesome Leo's chili we know and love. This has been our second bad experience. We live in the area and enjoy coney food. It appears like we must now go to Lucas Coney Island. Which is also a good coney restaurant. I can only hope someone in management reads this and takes corrective action. read more

Tuesday's are $1.29 coneys, can't beat that with a stick! Good food & good service.. Additional tip, you can order your Greek salad chopped.. This way is way very wonderful & tasty. They chop all ingredients that's in the salad then toss it with dressing... This mixes all the tasty ingredients very nicely read more

We have been here 3 times in the last month and the food is wonderful! I had the most delicious fish and chips tonight. My husband loved his patty melt. The waitress came over and told us our food was a little delayed because they had many carry out orders called in. We appreciated her honestly. Also, it's a pretty laid back restaurant so it might take a few minutes for them to come over and take your order. But the service is great and very friendly staff. This was a good go to spot for a quick simple breakfast or lunch. However the past two visits have been bad. Something changed, the first time it was nearly 10 minutes before a server came, then another 20 before I left without being served.
