Highly recommend if you're hitting the tourist highlights in Paris or if you're looking for a hearty and satisfying meal. Reasonably priced and the food was delicious. The onion soup is always a must for me when in Paris but the porcini mushroom Ravioli was mouthwateringly delicious as well. We also had the beef Bourgogne which was succulent and savory. Comfortable little restaurant with full bar and open late (2am), great since we were up late having just got in the night before and our internal clocks were still on California time. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Service was great; quick, friendly, helpful and didn't feel rushed at all. It was my wife's first time in Paris (neither of us speak much French) and the waiter was helpful in guiding her selections, and answering her questions regarding wine selection etc. read more

Do not, i repeat, do NOT believe the bad reviews. I will start off by saying i am from NYC so i know good food. I also have to say that until tonight I've not had one amazing dinner in Paris in 3 days, in fact most dinners were sadly disappointing. When i came here my expectations were low as I was part worried about the "tourist trap" reviews and part just generally disappointed with Parisian food (despite having carefully picked every one of my restaurants based on reviews- one with a Michelin star). This place blew all those others out of the water. The pan seared foi gras, the beef tare tare the tart tatin. Everything was AMAZING. My wife I ate here on a saturday afternoon around 1:30 after touring the Musee d'Orsay. After waiting only about 5 minutes with no reservations, we were seated outside in the front row facing the street. We started with 9 normandy oysters and a bottle of pouilly-fumé. The oysters may have been the best i've ever eaten and the wine a perfect paring to match the idyllic french bistro ambience. Next we shared the onion soup and just wow, again best I've ever tried! Then for our mains, she had the clam linguine and I had the filet au poive with potato gratin. The meal was so good we didn't want it to end and we ordered dessert (cafe greedy greedy which was an assortment of mini pastries with an espresso) which we normally don't do. We started with some oysters and white Sancerre, then my first approach ever to escargot.. I couldn't believe how good was the flavor of the sauce. Test passed, more to come. After that we had some grilled octopus with vegetables, I had octopus in Portugal and I thought it was the best.. haven't tried Les Antiquaires yet!! The food was definitely amazing and last but not least, and that's what makes your experience memorable, our server for the night was Dominique. Based on some research, we decided to book a reservation here for a meal on our first night in Paris with our friends (2 families -- 4 kids, 4 adults). It was excellent! We all enjoyed some traditional french food -- onion soup, confit, etc. The service was great -- they spoke great english and were playful with our party. The atmosphere was buzzy and international. The 'plain' croissant tastes as if it's made with lard (possibly for the American tourists), as opposed to the 'croissant beurre', which probably has to be specifically ordered as such....beware. As for the "hot chocolate", it's a cup of boiling water with a minimal amount of third rate chocolate added, simply to color the water...way too hot to drink at first, and when it cools down enough to actually taste, not worth drinking. Cappuccino was watery as well. There are enough short time tourists in the area to keep the place busy, even if, like us, they don't return for a second time. I would like to mention the service at this restaurant- it's pretty excellent. My mother and I dined twice, once for lunch and another day for dinner, and both sets of waiters/waitresses were really friendly and kind. It's clearly a very touristy spot, but the extensive menu offers far more than the typical tourist fare, and above and beyond that- it's really good. My fresh seafood tower was particularly impressive. It was fresh, tasty, and had a diverse assortment even in the lowest price option. The only feedback I would mention is that the desserts were gigantic, which is so uncharacteristic of France that I was caught off guard. Even three people couldn't have consumed my one gigantic Charlotte. The taste was pleasant but not amazing. So, go for the food and service but perhaps go elevate for dessert? read more

This was one of the most memorable meals during our Euro trip. First off, this was our anniversary dinner in Paris so it had that going for it. We had a tasty plate of escargot in their shells with a perfect blend of butter, garlic and pesto. We then split some French onion soup au gratin which was gooey and chewy an on point. I had the sliced duck in a reduction sauce that was wonderful. It had a thin layer of fat in between skin and the meat which really added to the flavor. The only downside was the skin wasn't crispy but it's comforting flavor made up for that. My wife ordered large prawns with rice which had a great flavor and was also very satisfying. Waiters try to run water scam on English speakers. Waiter brought out a $9 bottle of water to our table. Everyone sitting around us was Parisian and was give the typical craft of tap water. No big deal. I've seen this already once on this trip. I could forgive them for that, but the food was not good. Waiter suggested the octopus over the prawns, so went with his suggestion. I guess my biggest issue here is, if you're going to play the arrogant French not liking people who are actually trying to speak a little French, then you had better be good at the one thing French people are supposed to be good at. It was roughly 30 minutes but it didn't seem bad since they have heating mechanisms for the tables outside. We landed a spot just inside the door and happened to sit across from an American family who was in town on spring break! You know how it is when you see a piece of home from across the pond. The service was excellent, the lady made awesome recommendations. I settled on the rack of lamb which was super divine and hit the spot after a long day. This was our first restaurant we tried for lunch in Paris! We were seated outside and the restraunt wasn't too crowded. We ordered the clam linguine, escargot, duck breast and Aubrac beef bourguignon. It didn't look like a lot, but everything was super filling for 4 people. The escargot were huge and i liked the pesto sauce it was cooked with. I enjoyed the clams in the linguine, but wished the dish had more flavor and seasoning. We tried the beef bourguignon that is recognized to be the most delicious in Paris. It reminded me of beef stew, but i expected more flavors and the meat was kind of dry. Our second meal in Paris-dinner after spending all day at the Musee d'Orsay. We arrived a bit early and were told to sit outside until our reservation was ready. No one came to serve us any wine or anything while we were on the patio. No big deal - staff was very friendly-just mentioning that because as you will discover in Paris, service is not quick. You have to be okay with that because it is not bad service, it's just not rushed. They will get to you when they can after allowing you to settle in. The restaurant is cute and again, staff welcoming and they do speak English. My issue was the food. I ordered a beef dish with green pepper sauce. Sounded wonderful but it really lacked flavor. Been trying not to eat duck at every meal but I might have been better off with it here. My food wasn't bad, it was just okay. Kinda bland but filling. My Bordeaux was excellent though. Had fun, and it was a pleasant experience. Just not what I was expecting. read more

Hands down, my favorite meal in Paris! Everything from the ambiance to the friendly service to the delicious food, Les Antiquaires knocks it out of the park. We had a reservation and I would highly recommend making a reservation because this place gets packed. Our server spoke decent English, had a great sense of humor and was very friendly. There are so many options on the menu to choose from. We got the duck breast, steak tartare and two cheeses. Everything that we ordered was fantastic and that is not an understatement. The duck breast was exquisite. The skin was crispy and the meat was mouthwatering. If you're a fan of duck, you'll love the duck breast here. The steak tartare was fabulous. We weren't used to such a huge piece of tartare and in the States, it's typically just an appetizer. For it to be an entree here, it was definitely a treat. The cheese that we got were delicious (Saint-Marcellin and Camembert from Normandie). I think I discovered my favorite cheeses. Soft and creamy... yummmm. All around, the meal was exceptional and there isn't a bad thing I can say about anything we had! This cute little restaurant is situated about a 10 minute walk away from the Louvre and 2 blocks away from the Musée d'Orsay. We were greeted immediately and were sat down. The customer service was excellent. This might have been the only restaurant we've been to that asked if we preferred an English or French menu as soon as we walked in. Our waiter, Eric, happily answered all of our questions and also gave great suggestions for both our plate and dessert. Although the restaurant was small, we were seated at a table that was pretty spacious. Everything on the menu seemed decently priced. After reading the yelp reviews and talking to the waiter I ordered the duck breast from south west. I tasted it with and without the balsamic honey sauce and no matter which way you tossed it, it was cooked to perfection. The potatoes were a little under seasoned, but with the balsamic sauce the tasted just fine. Although the rum cake was calling my name, for dessert I ordered the Crème brûlée. I just couldn't leave Paris without having it atleast once. It had an amazing rich vanilla taste and was also very light. I'd really like to emphasize the customer service. Eric was very friendly with us, which made all the difference. Before we left it started raining really bad and we did not have an umbrella. Before we left he came back before we left and gave us his umbrella and said we should be able to enjoy Paris with an umbrella. He was so kind. I'll always remember our experience here! read more
