Cool concept -- the UFO burger idea is fun and different, which I appreciated. The fries were very delicious and probably the highlight of the meal. That said, I don't think the price matches what you get. It was about $20 for a very thin piece of meat and a small handful of fries. The burger patty was wafer-thin and seemed more filled with condiments than actual meat. For the portion size, $16 would feel more reasonable. It tasted good, but not great. It also needed a little more salt. I wasn't blown away, and I was still hungry afterward -- I literally went home and made tacos. Not trying to slam them -- just being honest. I happened to see this food truck on a random afternoon in Burbank, and boy am I glad that I did! I ordered the beef bowl with fries and bacon. The fries were well seasoned and crispy, the bacon wasn't a strip or two; it was chunks of pork belly/bacon - so delicious. The house sauce was a thousand island type of aioli with lots of creaminess and flavor. The beef patty was well seasoned and was paired with a gooey cheese that completely compliments the flavor. The whole thing is topped with cilantro (?) which I wasn't sure about at first, but once I got a taste I understood why it was added and I'm sure you will, too. At the Dana Point Maritime Festival I came upon the Less Mess Burger food truck. With the weather perfect on Sunday, it seemed like a good day for burger at one of the outdoor tables that was set up. I looked at the video that was playing on the truck and the UFO burger (so called because it looks like one) seemed different than an ordinary burger and the sealed in shape, according to the video, locked in the juices. So I ordered a Less Mess Swiss Burger. Sure enough, after a little wait it arrived in a paper bowl, the first burger I've had that was shaped like a UFO. However, when I bit into the burger it wasn't all that juicy and I couldn't taste the Swiss cheese. Rather than be loaded with ingredients, the way I like burgers, it seemed to be light on them. The bun was also bland. The burger definitely delivered on its "less mess" claim. But, as a burger that was indulgent and filled with juicy taste, it really didn't deliver. I don't live or work near where they set-up, but they've been on my radar for a bit and with time off for the holidays, I made it a point to finally stop by and check it out. Knowing they're usually busy, I ordered ahead thru their website and I knew what I was getting for the price (Loaded fries and Swiss burger +tax/tip was approx $30); Small businesses don't have the luxury of quantity buying to drop overhead costs, and with everything going too high, just pay or don't, but give em a break because they're just trying to survive like most people. There was no line or customers when I arrived, but since I ordered ahead, my food was ready about two minutes after I got there. The staff was pleasant and everything was packaged and prepared with care. The Swiss burger was good and didn't get anywhere except in my belly, so the UFO worked as intended. I decided to get the loaded bacon fries and while they were just ok, I wouldn't get them again. There was plenty of bacon, but it was room temp or even cold, so it would've been nice if he did it up to get the juice is going to provide a better flavor and the fries also needed to be cooked a little longer, so request your fries be well done. The packing is unique and actually works well to keep any mess down, but the overall flavors didn't stand out where I could rave about it being different than anywhere else. They also have two tables outside so you can stand around and eat instead of being in your car or taking it to go. The service was great. The guy was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the inferno burger at a level 5 out of 6. If you love spicy food, GET.THIS.BURGER!!!! It's perfectly spicy and the spice does not compromise the flavor. My boyfriend and I decided to try this viral UFO shaped burger. A food truck located right in front of Ralph's and across the street from a Baskin-Robins. Less Mess Swiss Burger - Good and savory. I expected the burger to be more sealed like a crustable, but maybe it was just my luck today. My burger was more like a smash burger (as shown in my photo). But true to its' name..less mess. Actually, there was no mess even though mine was not sealed all the way! Grilled chicken bowl - We probably did not need to order this, but of course we were ordering with our stomaches. This was packed with a TON of cheese and bacon. Quite heavy, but really good. I like whatever their secret sauce is! Lots of flavor! Overall rating would be 4/5. It's very easy to find, right outside the Trader Joes. Parking is easy because they have that huge underground lot. The food here is really good even though I had no idea what to expect with a bun that is sealed shut. The nice part is your food doesn't get all over the place and you can enjoy it without needing many napkins. I enjoyed the flavor the burger and chicken sandwich. They don't taste like the kind of charbroiled burgers you get in most restaurants but remind me more of something you get from a Mediterranean, Armenian or Persian restaurant. The innards were warm and tasty but there was a sweetness that was slightly off putting. I work at the Ralph's across the way and was really skeptical of this place. After getting food there a few times I can say that the food is pretty solid. I really enjoy the chicken fries the most. A really nice layer of cheese, sauce, bacon bits, chicken, all put together over some fries. The thing I like about them the most though is the ratio of meat and such to fries. Most of these sorts of fry dishes leave you with way more fries than everything else so it gets old fast, but I never feel it with these. Pretty cool place. Will continue to order here. The chicken and beef bowl which is chopped chicken or beef with cheese over a bed of delicious fries drizzled with their house made sauce topped with fresh parsley which is also hands down so good, and they have a variety of different house made lemonades including sugar free! I ordered a Less Mess Swiss burger combo which came with a drink. Come to find out, the lady made the wrong burger to which she realized towards the end and called my friend and I over. She apologized and told us she'd make us the burger we ordered. We said it was alright and she didn't have to do that, but she insisted and already told us she was in the process of making it. Also did not charge us at all for any sauces I got afterwards because of the mishap. From the service side of things : 5/5 The burger was made in a unique way where, as you guessed it, is supposed to be less of a mess than a regular burger. It was. The burger was juicy and cheese was fully melted which got complimented by the grilled onions.
