First time customer. Went in for dinner, quickly greeted and seated. Menu is pretty straight forward... offering a selection of fried or steamed seafood options. We chose a combination platter with shrimp, snow crab and lobster. We asked for a recommendation on the seasoning options. Our server stated that she didn't know and hadn't tried them. Food was served quickly. Fairly priced and portion was proper value. No claw crackers provided for the crab legs which made it a challenge for the larger claws. I used my tray to smash the claw since there wasn't another option. We tried to go to the bar for an after dinner drink. Both bartenders were chin diapering their masks. Bad look. Asked for a cocktail menu. Was told by the female bartender there wasn't one. Ordered an old fashioned. She replied "the cinnamon one?" Odd question... so I replied "what cinnamon one?" She answered "the one on the menu". "So there is a menu?" She spun around and slapped down a dingy paper with table tent specials and walked away with an exasperated attitude. No thanks, we will have our cocktails elsewhere. We tried to call the manager to inform them of the experience vs writing a review for a newer business but they didn't answer the phone. read more

This place just opened. I called in a to go order and picked up at the desk inside (no curbside). Not much social distancing going on, saw a few tables occupied side by side. Servers did have masks on though. Order was ready as they said it would be when I called in. We ordered shrimp linguini (wife said was excellent), cup of clam chowder (see below) and a shrimp basket with Cajun (aka curly fries) also very good. Only food related issue, and the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars, was the clam chowder. My wife LOVES clam chowder and on her scale of a 1-10 she gave it a 1. Very watered down, more like soup than chowder, almost no clams or potatoes. Very weak. Half was dumped. We will come back, just won't get the chowder again, lol. read more

It was okay I guess... got a combination of different steamed options. The let's crab special sauce (combo of different flavors) was a winner. Need crackers for the crab legs. Not saltines, but the ones that break claws. COVID procedure loosely followed. Some staff had masks, some wore them around their neck. Not bad for a quick bite if you're looking for decent fried seafood. We've only been there for lunch a few times. Our waitress both times was incredibly sweet. This is the only place around that has alligator bites that we have found so far and they are good, so we pop in for a treat every now and again. It doesn't get much of a lunch crowd but seems to be busier during dinner time. read more

Really enjoyed the place. I was a little nervous as I knew that it was a bit pricey for 2 claws of snow crab for the money, but enjoyed that fact I did not have to clean up. I had the garlic butter and was surprised it was a red color, but it taste great. My only suggestion is put another potato in the bad, really, potato's are cheap and it looks like you are giving a bit more to the customers. But the food was great and I liked the place and we had plenty of space to spread out. Would surely go back read more

11/09/20 First and foremost, we will be back. This place is new so I'm sure they are finding their groove on certain things. Maybe next time they'll go to a 4. I'm gonna give it a 3, if I could give it a 3.5 I would have. Starting from sit down to leaving. I regret not taking pics of the food, I normally would for a clear representation of the food but forgot. I do have the pic of my drink lol. Decor- This place is on point, really fun environment and my 3 year couldn't have been more interested in the pirates and fish everywhere. Waitress- Cant remember her name, she had long red hair. Great personality and interaction. Appetizer- Gator tail A little background, I'm for Florida and was stationed in Mississippi for a period of time. I realize that gator tail will never be as good anywhere else. That being said, all other appetizers are like $5-8 and the gator is $13. To be frank, I was expecting better quality. This was clearly some kinda pre bagged gator and nothing that was assembled in house and the taste just wasn't there. They serve it with a kinda bang bang sauce but gator tail deserves to be serve with a slice of lemon and a garlic butter aioli . To me a $13 appetizer show me something you do their, not a store bought item. The were probably fried in the same oil as the chicken so they result was they tasted like chicken. Overall, it was ok and but I probably would get it again. Drink- Whiskey Sour I asked before if they had a full bar and the answer is yes. I ordered a whiskey sour, it came with a slice of lemon in it instead of an orange and no cherries lol. Although it wasn't remotely a whiskey sour the drink was ok. Clearly whoever the bartender was either didn't know how to make the drink, or just subbed the lemon in which case should have asked the waitress if that was ok. I think the drink was probably $8-9. Entrée- Me- Get your hands dirty King Crab (Cajun/Garlic butter/Mild) Ok so what does $35 get you. I got 4 regular legs and a claw arm with a single potato and a 4-5" corn on the Cobb. I realize this is seafood, we aren't close to water etc. but that where you should be adding something more. Corn and potatoes are probably two of the cheapest things you can offers to add to a plate. $35 for an entrée is a lot, so to not be willing to do like 2 corns, a potato and maybe sausage is a little meh. So when my plate came out I was kinda feeling like "this is all I get for $35?". That said it was still very good, but lacked that "satisfied" feeling. With that I probably won't do King Crab again simply due to cost/quantity. Wife- Snow crab seafood combo, add half crawfish/half black mussels (Cajun/mild) She said was perfectly satisfied. The meal was tasty and filling without leaving her overly full. Everything tasted fresh. Kid- Chicken tender basket These tenders were actually pretty good. Very similar breading as the gator tail so I imagine they came from the same grocer/brand. The fries were good. Pretty standard though. Total tab was $105, after tip about $120. (Pricey for us, but it's seafood) Pro's Atmosphere and staff. Everyone was super friendly and receptive. The ambience was great with the pirates, fish and treasure. We will be definitely back but due to cost probably not for a bit. Critiques Bartender needs to know how to make a drink or advised if they don't have ingredients before making a drink to make sure it's ok or offer something else Gator tail needs to be made in-house or reduce the price, which may be tough but gator is a delicacy and should be treated as such. It should stand out from everything else on that menu. I wanna say this may be the only place I've seen within an hour distance that even offers it so it could totally be a smash hit if they nail it a little more. Finally, the sides on get your hands dirty. To add a 3rd item or even double up on the corn/potato that comes with that order needs to be looked at. It might cost you $1, maybe. Was hoping to like this place because it is near my house and it would save me a 30 minute drive to some of my favorite seafood boil places in Charlotte. Nevertheless, I was disappointed. The blue crab gave me an instant stomach ache. The meat was bad! I am from Maryland, so I know what crabs are supposed to taste like. I called the restaurant and informed them and the lady was rude and very nonchalant. She eventually told me to bring the crabs back even though I told her I threw it away. I am not worried about service recovery at this time, I just won't return and will tell all of my friends of this experience. read more

Visiting our kids from Raleigh, we were looking for something tasty to eat. Let's Crab didn't disappoint. The seafood boil I had which consisted of snow crab legs and shrimp with corn and potatoes was delicious. I got the garlic butter sauce with medium heat on mine and it was perfect. Will definitely get that combo again. Hubby loved his catfish and fries so we were both happy campers. Y'all are in my "Saved" bin now. read more

My wife and I were excited to try Let's Crab when it opened. With COVID we had our first opportunity this Saturday. It wasn't worth the wait! We had the clam chowder soup that had no flavor and wasn't very thick. Neither of us finished more than 3-4 spoonfuls. We split the shrimp and fries (we wanted hush puppies instead) but the manager said no substitutes allowed. So we ordered the hush puppies also. Well the shrimp was bland the HP's were blah. The only good thing we had were the fries which we didn't want. Timing of of the meal was off as well. We got the HP's first, then I got my soup, the shrimp then my wife got her soup. Went in on Christmas night. The lack in a f business should have been a sign. The food was horrible. There were five in our party and we each had fried seafood with fries. The food tasted like it was cooked in old oil that had started to break down. I sampled everyone's food, and it all tasted like it was frozen and fried. One member is our party had a question about a menu item and pointed to a picture to show the server what he was talking about. She was quick to let us know that the pictures on the menu was not pictures of the food they served. I would have rather had eaten the food in the picture, I probably would have felt better when I got home. The service was ok. We went this past Saturday. Bartender was swamped but did a great job keeping up as best she could...plus, the place has only been open a week. The other negative reviews need to take that into consideration....ONE WEEK. There are bound to be kinks and growing pains, plus they opened in the midst of a pandemic. Sheesh! That being said we ordered the snow crab and shrimp and the snow crab and sausage. Both came out rather quickly and were delicious. Messy, and delicious. They supply wipes, gloves and a bib. I was excited to try this place since they opened and my son had been asking. So we ordered take out and it was terrible! I really wanted to like this place for but 35 dollars for sub par food... Geez, I couldve gotten better from Captain D's. And I ordered White fish, not Cat fish. I expected better quality for what looks like a nice seafood restaurant. The meal for my son was supposed to be Cajun seasoning but no seasoning on his. Probably will not be going back to this place anytime soon. Waited 12 minutes to be greeted 25 minutes to get drinks (and that's because we went to the bar and got them ourselves) Asked the server basic questions about the menu and was totally misinformed (whole lobster vs lobster tail!!) Soup order was lost!!! At 47 minutes someone brought what they "thought" was our appetizer to us?? Not our food. Finally got our clams at 52 minutes no silverware or way to eat them. They were gritty and overcooked! Finally got my soup tasted canned. Server stopped talking to us when we pointed out lobster tail and whole lobster are not the same!!! Seafood is ridiculously good. Seasoned very well, comes to the spice and flavor level you like and I appreciate that medium spicy was medium spicy. I worked in a high end seafood restaurant up north and I was very happy with the quality of food. I got the snow crab, shrimp, lobster combo bag and wife got the king crab in a bag. Also had gumbo and fried calamari that were solid. It's got a neat decor that kids would like and our server Morgan was solid. Glad to have another good restaurant in area.
