We needed to celebrate Father's Day on Thursday instead of Sunday, and while I've been wanting to try LeTara, I was a bit leary after reading so many mixed reviews. But the restaurant intrigued me, so I decided what the heck! The service was a bit slow, but on our side of the restaurant the bartender Luis seemed to be the only server for about eight groups. But he was very professional and polite. Our family of five had no complaints about the food! We started with the steak nachos, cornbread and calamari. All were tasty and large enough for two people. We then had the grilled salmon with asparagus and coleslaw, the boneless ribeye and salad, the hickory burger and two enchilada and steak entrees. Large portions and everything was cooked to perfection. The ribeye and salmon were flawless! The ribeye was perfectly marbled, tasty and very tender. Dessert included oreo topped bread pudding, keylime pie and trés léches. Wow! We were so stuffed we could hardly move! We will definitely be back! Some previous reviewers complained about the pricing. Since covid most restaurant prices have gone up. We dine out somewhat frequently and we did not find LeTara's pricing any higher than the chain restaurants who have bulk buying advantages. We will definitely be back! read more

Excellent food outside of the city. This restaurant is our favorite place to go for a somewhat romantic meal close to the house. The food here is always good - so is the service. This time, I ordered the brisket tacos. The brisket was excellent. I was looking for better rice and beans. The rice was dry and the beans were okay, together they were decent. We bring friends and family here all the time (and you know the FW restaurant selection is HUGE) and they're always big fans. Went here last night for the first time and I wasn't too impressed. Ordered the Ribs which came with one side. Ribs were mediocre at best but only came with half rack. I ordered mash potatoes for the side which wasn't too bad but overall small portion size for the price. The waitress did check up on us a lot which was good however we literally had to wait almost an hour for all food to arrive. Mind you we only had a total of four ppl at our table. Not sure if they had low staffing but it didn't seem like they were too terribly busy for a Tuesday night. Best advice I could give you is go to another restaurant and don't waste your time or money at this place. Way overpriced; the quality and quantity of the food is nothing to celebrate over with. This place is absolutely not maintaining Covid protocol for one. They are not using disposable or digital menus. We watched them turn over tables and they were not sanitized, just wiped off with a rag like any fast food joint. Even worse, the service was awful. We were sat quickly, but waited 20 minutes for a waitress to ask if we had been helped at all and then, when we hadn't, assumed the role as our server. It's honestly not her fault, she probably provided the best service at this place but she had absolutely no support. She took our orders, which included an appetizer, but we waited an hour and still for nothing to come out. The busboy (the one who was not sanitizing the table) asked us if it would be okay if he could place an extra chair at the next table over, which would effectively put a stranger at our table since it was already so close. We told him we were not comfortable with this, and then people were immediately seated anyway. We decided to leave so we then had to wait another five minutes at the front for someone to ask us why we were up there. We told them we did not want to wait any longer and would like to pay for the sweet tea and orange Fanta we had. One star for him comping that, but he didn't ask us why we were leaving. I give him benefit of the doubt that he didn't have time. We won't be coming back anytime soon. Went to the sonic next door instead. read more

I want to give LeTara Grill & Bar a 5-star review. I really, really do; however, I can't. Let's start with the food: it's GREAT. I've had several dishes there, and they have all been delicious. The ambiance of the place is unexpectedly nice too. That's where I run out of positive things to say. The service is terrible enough to offset those positives, and then some. On our last visit with friends (total party of 4), we ordered our meals with salads and asked for the salads to arrive before the meals. 45 minutes after placing our order, no salads had arrived, the waiter had walked past us many times without a word, and it was as if we'd been forgotten. We finally called him over to ask about the status of our salads. He said he'd check. Fifteen minutes later (yup, 15 minutes), he stopped by to say they were "working on" our salads. Ten minutes later they arrived. We were 70 minutes into our wait after ordering before we even received our salads. We finished our salads and waited again for another 10 minutes before our food arrived. He just said there had been a mix-up on the kitchen. The servings were tiny, and I do mean tiny. Given the prices at this place, I'd expect larger portions. They used to be larger, but I guess they've had to cut back. We enjoyed nibbling on our "snack" of a meal, but I was still hungry after licking my plate. After we were clearly finished (no one had ANY food left on their plate), the waiter came by and asked how things were. He didn't take our plates, so we sat there and visited for another hour (and didn't feel bad about it because there were plenty of empty tables), but he never came and took our empty plates. Weird. During the whole ordeal, he never apologized for the wait...not once. No compensation was offered either. One more thing, they had a 2-man live music gig going, which was actually pretty good, but it was WAAAAAAAAAYYY too loud. We could hardly hear each other when they were singing/playing. We've been here 4 times now, just because of the quality of the food, but we've decided we are done. We can get quality food somewhere else where the servings are big enough to fill us up and the wait staff understand good service. read more

Edit: When the establishment first opened it was an easy 5 stars. After revisiting and ordering the identical meal I unfortunately need to drop two stars. The fresh and flavorful broccolini has been replaced with bland broccoli. The flank steak had not been cut against the grain, had too much fat and overall seemed like lower quality meat. The only item which seemed relatively unchanged was the French fries which are still delicious. I will not be revisiting. Easy 5/5 stars. The best flank steak I have ever eaten and I never knew broccolini could taste so good. While it is slightly more expensive than many other traditional American cuisines, the quality and flavor is there. Please continue with this level of quality and thank the chefs! read more

Best food in town, hands down. Last night was our second time to dine in and it did not disappoint, the brisket nachos, OMG. So many flavors and the homemade guacamole tasted just like at home (my homemade guac is my favorite to eat). I ordered the salmon with sautéed spinach and the salmon literally was melting in my mouth, it was cooked to perfection. My boyfriend ordered the filet, and it too was cooked perfectly. As always, LeTara Grill didn't disappoint. The cornbread is so succulent ... we order it every time. I'm a big fan of the salmon salad, which has evolved a bit, and has become one of my favorite dishes anywhere! The Thai flavoring and spices are perfectly balanced woth cooling mango, cucumber and avocado, and the salmon! Oh my! The salmon is so juicy with just the right crisp and amazing sauce! Hubs got the Thursday special, tenderloin filets, and was kind enough to share a bite... tender, cooked exactly right and very flavorful ... only achieved by starting with quality ingredients and treating them with skill and care. I ordered the salmon and was told an hour later there was no salmon . Sodas were all flat but they swore they were properly carbonated . Not a great first time experience by any means . I would hv scored higher but I had to send my food back; macaroni shells were not cooked enough and the salmon was not quit cooked to medium. However, when it all came back it was VERY good!!! This was an amazing restaurant. John was our waiter, and he was awesome and very attentive. My husband and I had the crab cakes which I would highly recommend. My daughter had the French Dip. She said it was the best she had ever had. The deserts were also wonderful. My daughter and I split the berry crunch (I don't remember the name). My husband had the Tres Leches. He said that was the best he has ever had. He normally orders that at the restaurants that we visit. You are missing out if you don't check this place out. It is a Five Star restaurant! For "fine dining" being part of their motto, this restaurant was far lacking. $17 for a tasteless Turkey Melt that had plastic embedding in the sandwich doesn't meet the standards of what they claim. The ambiance is tacky kitchen with flies that harass you as you eat. WOW! This place takes the cake on surprise gems hiding in Haslet. We loved every single thing about the menu although the service was really spotty the entire time we were there, the kitchen still had our back and got a server each time our food was made and just waiting on a runner so I have nothing bad to say about them considering the team work. We had the trout dip - it was like a ball of dip with toasts to spread it on, but amazing nonetheless. We ordered the rock shrimp and it was significantly beyond any other shrimp app I have ordered elsewhere, I got a side of the sauce to dip my fries in later. We also ordered the chophouse burger which was cooked perfectly with all requested add ons served open faced, this was one tasty burger. I have to say the show stopper though was the blackened chicken sandwich, when I tell you were gushing over this amazing sandwich I cannot say enough good about it. The chicken was flavorful and grilled to perfection, the Jack cheese complimented the red peppers and the arugula gave an herb kiss that was so simple yet complex in the flavor profile I fell in LOVE and I will absolutely be going back just to get this sandwich!! read more

First - the service was great. Walked in, was greeted and seated right away. Our server Lisa (?) was absolutely fantastic and made the whole experience extremely pleasant. We ordered the cornbread for a starter....nice portion (for 4), hot, moist and delicious. Served with butter and honey. My wife ordered the loaded Mac and cheese - came with pieces of bacon - she enjoyed every bite (it didn't last long). I ordered the steak of the day (bone in ribeye) - cooked exactly the way I ordered and was served with some very tasty asparagus. My daughter had the key lime pie - which was excellent...large portion, not too "limey" and had a nice creamy texture. The food was excellent! Overall I thought the food was ok, but overpriced. We started with the grilled artichoke. That was actually quite flavorful and the best dish of the night. The marinade was delicious and grilled artichoke cooked well. I would recommend the grilled artichoke if you're into that type of thing. I had the bbq chicken. It was good, tasted as expected. However it was overlooked and dry. Wife had the salmon. It was ok as well. Having said that, there aren't that many restaurant options in that part of Haslet. Advertised as 'Fine Dining'. I placed a pick up order on the phone. When I got home and opened the box to put the food on my plate, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The salmon was flat (I cut in half and stacked it on my plate), and the asparagus were the inedible bottom halves. As you can see, I went ahead and tried to eat one, but literally could not chew it. I was basically served their trash. When I can called and said I was disappointed, I was told that they would take down my name and number and I could get a free side the next time I come in. A Side.
