I've been wanting to try HG Sply Co. Since I moved to the area about a year ago and finally decided to stop by and place an order to go. I ordered the grilled salmon with the chard broccoli, coconut rice, and I added aside of the zucchini and squash. For the positives - the hostess and the bartender who took my order were both very professional and friendly. The bartender answered some questions that I had about the menu and she made some suggestions (the coconut rice being one of them). The restaurant is very clean, bright and open. Casual and welcoming ambience. The turnaround time for my food from being placed to receiving it was very quick. I was probably at the very beginning of what their dinner rush would be so that probably had something to do with it as well. Unfortunately, the quality of food I received was far less than what I had expected. I had asked for the salmon to be cooked well done and with salt and pepper only, not their seasoning blend. The temperature and texture of the salmon was good, but not only did they use their special house blend seasoning. It was so oversalted that it became an edible. I was able to scrape out a few pieces in between the chard top and bottom, but I had to throw the majority of it away. It was literally like eating a block of salt. The salmon at Luna Grill is 1000 times better cooked than what I had at this restaurant tonight. The coconut rice, while it smelled delicious, was severely undercooked - the first bite I took had raw rice pieces. Rice should not be crunchy. Had to throw that out. The zucchini and squash were OK but again on the over salted side. I was able to eat some of it but the rest also I had to throw out. The only item that I ordered - the charred broccoli - was cooked well and was seasoned properly. It's a little frustrating to spend 35 $40 on a meal only to have to throw 80% of it away because it's an edible. Extremely disappointed and will most likely not return. read more

I had a chocolate old-fashioned to start, then our team split the deviled avocados. I really enjoyed the texture of the chickpea "egg salad" combined with the peppery arugula... although some felt it could use salt. For my entree, I ordered the farmhouse chicken with zucchini and squash and sweet potato hash for sides. I do not have words for how superbly seasoned everything on my plate was! Others in our party had the tuna poke bowl, the bison burger, a regular burger, and something else I can't remember. Not one of us had a negative thing to say. I plan to return if I'm ever in the area. Daniel delivered outstanding service. He made excellent recommendations regarding the menu, and was helpful & attentive, but not intrusively so. This is one of my favorite restaurants. I'm a vegetarian and I feel there's a good amount of options on the menu for me. However, I will still miss the vegetarian sandwich that they took off the menu quite some time ago. I tried something new this visit, having a falafel with some great sides. The falafel was crispy and well seasoned. I knew the sides would be phenomenal. It was a great place to take my friends and for us to all find something that we liked. Everything was going great until our server struck up a conversation with a nearby table for over 20 minutes. Our son didn't get to eat his $18 burger because he didn't get a refill and had nothing to wash it down with. In fact none of us got refills while she not only talked to them during that time, but went to go get the guy at the table a drink from the bar then went back over there and talked for a little bit. THEN back to get them a to go container went back over there and talked for a little while, and continued to ignore us (all while her back was turned to us so I couldn't even wave at her). The restaurant was not busy at all. The manager spoke to my husband and comped the appetizer but not our son's food that was barely eaten. Which I think was poor management. My food was good, but it doesn't excuse terrible service when it takes 2 seconds to tell another table you'll be right back. She was just as chatty as the people at the table. read more

It's been a couple of days since we went here, but my wife and I's anniversary is on Halloween so wanted to go out and decided to try a new place that neither of is have been to before. It was very slow, despite it being a Friday, so we were walked to our seats with no wait time at all. For starters, we decided to get their charged campfire chicken. It was very soft and very flavorful. My wife didn't like the bed of slaw it's on since she doesn't like cabbage, but I had some with the chicken. Then once we moved onto the next dish, and I wanted the bison burger (not had bison in a while) and while it was a solid burger, may get something else next time. The meat was lightly seasoned and the fries were as well, but the fries were the very thin fries, so not my favorite... Though the garlic aoli on the burger was good. My wife is diabetic so she decided on the farmhouse chicken and really liked it. She got bbq seasoning on it and the white bbq sauce on the side. The sides she got were the grilled broccoli and the garlic mashed potatoes. She really liked the broccoli (some sort of lemon basil sauce was on it) and liked the flavour of the mashed potatoes, though they were a bit to mashed leaving a pudding like texture. Overall, we will def come here again when we have the time and money and the waiter was very good. Apparently as a first time customer, we could have gotten the chips and queso appetizer for free (vegan queso, made with cashew) but due to my own dental issues, it's hard to eat chips, so we passed. I had a great experience here. I haven't been to this restaurant since its former self as a Rock and Roll Pizza joint. I have been to HG Sply before, but first time at this new location. They did a great job reimagining the place, the decor and style is western chic. Very hipster. My family had burgers which they seemed to enjoy. I had the Chopped Steak with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts, which was excellent! The staff was very attentive. Overall experience was great, will be back again! We visited for Valentine's Day and the atmosphere was so cute, I loved the decorations. Our server was also great and accommodating, especially when I told him I didn't like my first drink. We ordered the Nachos and the Campfire Chicken Sandwich. Both were just okay. Not bad, but nothing that would make me say I'd want to order it again. My first drink I ordered was the HG Mule, which is made with kombucha instead of ginger beer. It was very sour, I ended up sending it back. My second drink was the frose which was 100% better. The customer service was excellent. Could not complain at all. They were welcoming, attentive and was not bothered when asked questions. It was not crowed at all since it was after the lunch rush. I was welcomed by Cody and my server was Lauren. Both very nice. First time trying Heirloom Corn Sopes. For me it lacked flavor and was not something I would try again. The meal was at room temp and wasn't sure how it should have been. I did not mention it to management since that was my first time having that meal. To drink, I had the Topo Chico Strawberry Guava brew. Very refreshing and flavorful. I'm not a beer drinker, but wanted to try this and it would probably be really good on crushed ice. I've supported HG Supply Company in Fort Worth (Alliance area) on multiple occasions, but after today's experience, I seriously question whether I will return. My daughter and I were seated and left waiting several minutes without any greeting, water, or acknowledgment. During that time, I observed a waiter actively serving multiple tables around us--including guests who were seated after we were--yet our table was consistently overlooked. To be clear, this did not appear to be a matter of being busy or short-staffed. The waiter was present, attentive, and engaged--just not with us. Another server eventually stepped in and assisted us, but by that point, the impression had already been made. No guest should be left wondering why they are being bypassed while others receive prompt service. Afterward, I asked our server if our table was the only one he was covering. He explained that the area was shared, then asked if Eric had greeted us. I confirmed that he had not. He apologized and asked if we needed anything else. I do not make accusations lightly; however, the only visible distinction is that my daughter is transgender. Whether intentional or not, the experience felt dismissive and, at minimum, reflects a concerning lack of awareness and inclusivity. This is not simply a matter of poor service--it is an issue of accountability, staff conduct, and ensuring that every guest is treated with equal respect. Being ignored in this manner should never be dismissed as a minor oversight. I expect better from an establishment I have supported in the past, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously. read more

I've been wanting to try HG Sply for a while now. The one off University Dr was the first one I knew about, and then they opened one in Trophy Club. The new decor is very nice with a modern vibe to it. I like the red brick accents. I don't recall a covering above the patio before, but there's one now which is so needed for the Texas sun. My friend and I came in after work on a weekday. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server Michael came by shortly. After learning it was our first time, he gave us a quick introduction to their concept. I love that. He recommended some drinks and menu items to us and told us about the happy hour specials. I opted for the cucumber smash cocktail and my friend ordered the sarsaparilla old fashioned. The smash was refreshing and the old fashioned was quite bold. As for the food, we ordered the cochinita nachos and the avocado hummus. Appetizers are half priced during happy order, but we were informed that the nachos are a half portion. It was still a hearty portion, and I love their thick, freshly fried chips! The avocado hummus was served with taro chips. It was flavorful and felt light in a good way. We decided to split a burger and chose the bison burger at Michael's recommendation. It had white cheddar. caramelized onions and garlic aioli. That burger was so juicy! Like embarrassingly dripping own my chin. It was really good. Overall, we have a nice meal and the service was awesome. The menu is extensive and I look forward to trying more of it. I had the yellow curry bowl with shrimp and added chicken kebabs. My partner went with the farmhouse breakfast. Every bite was full of flavor, and the shrimp kebabs in particular were incredible. The sourdough toast also deserves some love. It was thick, perfectly toasted, and surprisingly memorable. Service was about a seven, I think our friendly waiter had to take a lunch break. Not the fastest, but everyone was friendly and helpful, which made the experience feel relaxed and comfortable. Didn't exactly know the concept when walking in, but considering that I've been on a cleaner eating diet post heart stent, this place was perfect. I wasn't a huge fan of the deviled avocado, but I was starving and was interested in seeing how it was made and tasting the ingredients so I ordered it. I have the grilled chicken, sweet potato, hash, and brussels sprouts. I added a shrimp skewer to my dish. This dish was packed with flavor. My daughter ordered the salmon and curry bowl. Her salmon was cooked to perfection but lacked a little on seasoning. I also had a beet juice. I can't remember the name exactly but it was good and fresh. We have only been once to this new location, which opened within th past year mere minutes from our house, and had an outstanding experience. HG Sply has a good reputation among my family for great food with fresh ingredients, a health-friendly menu, and a fun ambience. We happened to try this location on a night when a rain shower was "bubbling up" as we say in Texas, featuring a double rainbow. We chose to enjoy the weather on the patio and were treated to a twenty minute gully washer which filled the tributary between the restaurant and cooled the summer evening pleasantly. The staff was kind enough to adjust the automated protective wind screen so we could experience the weather without being soaked. Our food was fresh and delicious. HG Sply has a mix of favorites with American (New) versions of things. Everything I've ever tried great. This evening we had the Salmon Poke Tacos and The Stack bowl. It's hard to get a mix of comfort food flavor with fresh ingredients. At sunset they bring everyone a shot of something to toast together, a fun tradition. We raised a glass with the group and enjoyed the orange hue of the Texas sky as the rain passed. Will definitely repeat! read more

For 2 burgers , 1 alcoholic drink and 1 specialty juice my bill was $70.54. I don't think my lunch was worth that much. Our waitress was very kind and knew the menu well. On my most recent visit, I paired the grilled chicken in pineapple marinade with the yellow curry and added coconut rice to soak up all the liquid goodness. Heavenly! Service was great, and my friend and I lingered for two hours to enjoy a lengthy conversation along with an excellent meal. My only negative comment was that the Texas Sage location is cashless--digital payments only--which is a trend I personally strongly oppose. I recently came to this location with my girlfriends for Galentines Day. We loved everything about it here, the service was awesome and he didn't care that I had a million questions. It seemed strange early in the night of the busiest day of the week that they would already be out of items. I ordered a juice called the starting line which is peach juice, strawberry juice and orange. It was pretty good. I had the bison meatballs for dinner with cauliflower mashed potatoes. My wife had the shrimp with sweet potato hash and the cauliflower. Both meals were really good. The atmosphere is very nice. Sitting inside at the bar the noise level wasn't too loud and it was good. The restaurant is huge and very clean. It is also very pretty. There's indoor and patio seating. I'm a crazy plant mom and my favorite part was at the entrance where they had beautiful plants. I was tempted to ask if I could break off a cutting, but I resisted. Our server was friendly as she explained the menu and her recommendations. She regularly checked on us without being invasive. We both ordered the filet and stir fried veggies with rice. The filet was perfectly grilled and absolutely delicious. I liked the stir fry and rice but my SO didn't care for the coconut milk flavor. Our first trip to HG but we'll be back as there are a lot of protein friendly, low carb options for folks doing keto or watching carbs. Service was on point and the waitress was very friendly. Ambiance was lovely for a Friday dinner service but still chill enough to chat. They definitely focus on healthier options, which means some items may not taste like traditional versions (note the "Caesar" asparagus) but overall very tasty. This HG location has a cooler vibe than I expected. I like that troublesome fireplace on the wall, the upstairs bar room that was gifted to them, and the brown leather chairs. It helps warm the place up despite the Wendy's colored tiles over the bar (my friend liked them). Our men enjoyed the signature old fashioneds that are half off for happy hour. I did not, but the Insider cab (not on special) was great. My friend liked her mule (included in HH). We shared the deviled avocados app and the bison meatballs. The bison meatballs were delicious and filling. The avocado app was smooth and interesting, but could have used basic salt and pepper ...not available on the table, per usual these days. The men both ordered the fish tacos with mahi-mahi and they disappeared from their plates. My friend enjoyed her chicken with yellow curry. I had the grilled chicken with coconut cauliflower and brussels sprouts. The Brussels, while a bit too oily, were loved by all and the cauliflower was also tasty. The chicken, unfortunately, even though marinated nicely, was overcooked making it dry on the end slices, which was almost half of the chicken breast. Overall it's my favorite HG location and has great service. Our server was definitely green, but we had contact with other servers and two managers that seemed more seasoned. read more
