I went back today to give it another try but it was still mid, the pizza was overpriced for what it tasted very acidic and bread was hard and cold. The coffee tasted like McDonald's ice coffee. I hope they can really warm up my stuff better next time and also make my coffee stronger and use a better syrup since it tasted the same as McDonald's. There is something that I love about cookies that weigh about a half a pound each that I just can't describe. I love the double chocolate chip cookie and buy one any time I visit any Levain Bakery location. This store is beautiful and I especially loved the great service and the cleanliness. I was excited to see a Levain in LA as I've heard so much about this cookie. Admittedly, I am disappointed because it's insanely sweet! Every bite feels like I'm just eating pure sugar, even the dark chocolate is sweet. I had no idea that this bakery began in New York around 30 years ago. This location is in Larchmont Village a neighborhood which has, coincidentally, a very New York kind of walkable/bakery/deli/coffee shop vibe. The cookies are incredibly dense and flavorful. The oatmeal raisin cookies tasted like they were made with oatmeal flour rather than rolled oats or oat flakes. I have never had a cookie with so many raisins in one cookie. I don't know how they do it, both cookies are crispy around the edges with a soft chewy inside. The chocolate chip cookies are particularly spectacular because the chocolate chips stay gooey and fudgey even after the cookie cools! I had purchased Levain's cookies during the pandemic. At that time they were available in the frozen section at Pavillions and Gelsons to take and bake. I thought they were good then, but tasting them fresh out of the oven was amazing! Update: Went this afternoon to pick up a yummy cookie. I had seen this guy pull a fresh batch out of the oven when I walked in. I paid my $6.50 and was given a cold cookie. I asked if I could get one warm, love the soft melted chips! The guy behind the counter took my cookie out of my hand and then told me he would heat it up for me. This is my favorite cookie bakery in NYC! IYKYK. So of course when I found out there's a shop in LA we had to try. The cookies are thick and crispy on the outside but soft and gooey in the inside. It's always freshly baked but it even better when they just come out of the oven. I always like to order the two chip chocolate chip, dark chocolate chocolate chip, and the chocolate chip walnut cookies. They also sell other pastries and bread but we always buy the big thick cookies. Each cookie is about $5.75. Always friendly service. Always a bench outside for customers to sit on. Bakery smells absolutely incredible. I believe they also serve the Wanderlust Collab at this location (I saw posters for it). I had only ever tried Levine once in New York and came back again to get a chocolate walnut cookie (their best seller). My cousin graciously brought over a box of 6 different cookies - rocky road, chocolate peanut butter, chocolate chip, chocolate chip walnut, caramel coconut, and double chocolate chip. We cut eat cookie in quarters so we can each have a cookie tasting party (there were 3 of us). The cookies are slightly crisp on the outside and inside is more cake-like, and some like a dense brownie (the chocolate ones). They were good and very rich. Definitely need a big glass of milk while eating them. My favorite was the rocky road since it had a slight chew. I prefer my cookies crisp on the outside and chewy in the center. The cookies are not cheap at $5 and change per cookie. Would I ever make the drive out to Larchmont Village to get these cookies.....mmmmm definitely not. read more

Went for their ice cream bucket hat promotional event and got an affogato! For the morning, there was barely a line. The associates are very personable, they take your order and retrieve it in the same transaction if they can. The coffee for the affogato is really good. Levain is one of the many cutesy shops in the Larchmont village area. Just a couple of minutes away from the grove, I like to stop by whenever I'm in the area and see what's new. This evening I decided to try Levain. I arrived around 6pm and there was a long line out the door. Once you get inside you see a cute set up of merch, a window of fresh baked goods and even a window where you see the bakers making the cookies. It was really cool to see the process of how these larchmont favorite cookies be made. I saw that they were promoting a new cookie: the chocolate coffee toffee cookie, but I was a little disappointed to find out it contained almonds as I don't really care for nuts in my cookies. I opted out of that one this time around and selected the oatmeal raisin and the dark chocolate chocolate chip cookie. These cookies were by far one of the best I've had. They have a crispy outer crust similar to a biscuit, but the inside is soft, buttery and gooey. The oatmeal raisin had some of the most plump and juicy raisins and the chocolate cookie had a warm gooey chocolate center that is definitely not worth counting the calories...JUST ENJOY! So delicious and sweet; difficult to eat one whole thing in a sitting so I saved it for later. 2) Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip: 8.5/10. I actually like dark chocolate more than other sweetness levels, so this was really yummy to me. Less sweet than the Two Chip but the chocolate chips weren't melty like the Two Chip. If I could give this shop zero stars I would. I arrived to pick up my sister's online order; she placed 2 of the same order (an 8 cookie tin). When I get there I'm only handed 1 tin, I call my sister to verify her order and go back to the store and explain that she is missing a tin, the worker hands me an empty tin and says she only paid for 8 cookies. I explain that the math isn't mathing and instead of her just going by the price on the board (66 for an 8 piece cookie tin) she begins to run the order on a cash register and then says oh, you're missing 8 cookies.
