Great cookies! Super thick and yummy. We got it with their ice cream. The staff was quick

    Cookie Milk Latte
    Tray

The Cookie Milk Latte was pretty standard. I got it with whole milk, so it mostly tasted like milk with just a hint of espresso. It wasn't overly light, but I think it would be richer if served hot. The cold foam was slightly salty, and the cookie crumbles on top added a nice touch. 7/10 The Rocky Road cookie wasn't too sweet, which I liked. The chocolate was nice and gooey, and the nuts tasted fresh instead of stale. That said, I still prefer the Double Chocolate Chip. 7.5/10 There was no line when I visited, so I got my cookie almost immediately after ordering, and the latte came out quickly as well. I just wish the cookie had been warmed up before serving.

Wowowowowowowow!! This was literally the best cookie i've ever had and I was not expecting to be blown away but I definitely was! I tried the chocolate chip walnut cookie and when I broke it in half the chocolate was gooing everywhere, I literally gasped at how decadent this cookie was. I had picked it up and walked back home and it was still this fresh, warm and delicious.

lovely location near the river! takeout only but they move fast. the server handing us our order was pretty hostile, she seemed to be hating her job... she still accommodated us but in an unsmiling, eyerolling manner we tried the new Raspberry Pistachio Cookie with dulce de luche ice cream, the portion is huge so would recommend sharing. I still prefer their og walnut chocolate chip cookie!

I forgot to take a picture of my chocolate chip and walnut cookie but I got that as well as the oatmeal raisin. I was suggested this bakery by a Chicago native and the cookies were very good. They are very big and dense. Usually, I prefer your standard cookie crispy edges soft in the middle but this cookie was very good not too sweet great flavor so all in all I would give it four out of five stars. Would I return? I don't know, but I'm not mad that I spent my money here.

Smelled delish. Cookies so good and thick with such great ingredients. Def ask for warm the peanut butter one was hard. The others amazing. We ate from them for a day or 2. Lived the carrot cake one. So good !!!

Best texture on a cookie that I've ever had! Crunchy chunky gooey and moist. With that said the cookie and muffin could have been sweeter

Recently stopped by Levain on a late weekend evening to finally see what the hype was about, and it did not disappoint! We went with the Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip cookie. It may not be the prettiest cookie in the display case, but don't let that fool you. One bite in and it was gooey, warm, and perfectly moist. The best part? It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, which made it dangerously easy to keep eating. The portions are massive, making it ideal to split (or not). I'll definitely be back to try their famous chocolate chip walnut cookie next time.

These are damn good cookies period. Quick and friendly service and delicious display case, worth the $6 per price tag! Get one (or 6).

Stopped by Levain Bakery and tried the Oatmeal Raisin cookie and the Vegan and Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Walnut cookie. Both were delicious and had that perfect soft center that Levain is known for. The flavors were rich without being too sweet, and the texture on each was spot on. Service was friendly and the space looked clean and organized. A great stop if you want something fresh and satisfying. I would happily come back for more.

The two chip chocolate chip cookie was AMAZING. I was hesitant by the looks of it but looks are most certainly deceiving!

Sincerely the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had. Warm, thick, chewy center, rich. Just so so good. I've been wanting to visit forever and finally made the time to go. I wish we had these in our area. It's worth the price tag, you've gotta try it. This location is a small shop in River North. Open til 11, so a great night cap after dinner or in between grabbing drinks. Very glad it lived up to the hype.

I've been a customer of almost 10 years and have been obsessed since they first opened their doors at a different location. I literally live an hour away without traffic and even longer with traffic, but I make sure to stop by or send someone else to get it for me at least once a month or more. I love the amazing cakes that are so delicious and unique but on top of that, it is Asian owned, LGBTQ supporting, etc. A lot has changed since their little storefront with no seating. The bakery is now a full on cafe and I'm so happy to see how much they've grown and how successful they are. And while it is glorious, I will say I miss the sweet neighborhood charm and great customer service it used to have. Getting in touch with the bakery through phone or text can be tough and to be honest, sometimes one of the people working there is kind of...very mean. It had me questioning if I should keep coming back. I just love this bakery so much though and being raised by parents that had a small food business, I can't help but want to support. I had a particularly difficult last minute request for the bakery a few weeks ago and I was reminded why this place is so great. It had been YEARS since I made this specific request, which was an order for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor. This is a BIG and time consuming request, especially if it's last minute. Unfortunately I come to the city whenever the traffic isn't atrocious, so it's always last minute. Dom absolutely pulled through though. Even though there were other employees there (I saw two others but one disappeared and then another male was kind of walking around the cafe and such), Dom took this giant request and fulfilled it himself. The other gentleman (not the mean person previously mentioned) was actually who I made the request to, but he told Dom to do it. I was kind of confused why they didn't do it together but idk, maybe the other guy isn't allowed to handle food? Who knows. Regardless, this request obviously took a long time and the line was getting longer; people were getting a little restless but Dom stayed calm but was swift. I swear he was moving faster than most people in the industry could with a cake knife like that. He was not impatient or rude to me at all. He was just there to do his job as fast and well as possible. It's so rare to see that type of work ethic. He is also so obviously proud of the bakery and the food they serve which makes you feel good about being a patron there. So although I continue to have an unpleasant experience with one particular employee there, Dom keeps my love for this bakery alive. He reminds me of what this bakery was like when they first opened their doors. I hope Dom is cherished there and I bet he is considering his work ethic. I will continue to support this bakery and I recommend everyone else to support as well. It may not be that small little shop anymore but Dom is a reminder of the heart of the place.

We both ordered the Filipino breakfast (though I wished I ordered something else) and a few drinks and had the saba tart and strawberry tart to go. If you're Filipino don't expect your typical longanisa and tocino because they did theirs differently as it is not mass produced and not processed meat which is what we get when we buy those items from the Filipino grocery store. I also love that they added fresh elements to the dish. I wish I ordered more pastries though because the tarts we got are sooo good! Once seated you'll realize that their dining section is small but they do have outdoor seating and some bar stools inside. My cousin who is a local told me they just order online and then pick up to bypass the line. This is a good idea if you're local but since we were visiting we opted to dine in. The desserts were a one-two-three punch absolute home run. Ambiance/interior is understated elegance. Warm wood tones, lush greenery, dim lighting, neutral palette. Service is 10/10 comparable to a 3 star. Really loved the pacing. 13 courses in two hours, never rushed , not a long lull in between. Recommend the San Miguel pilsner especially with the finger foods. Crisp and refreshing palate cleanser and perfect match for the savory flavors. The space feels really welcoming and homey, and I loved the aesthetic. There are only 3 tables though, so seating is limited. The Banana Bread (9.9/10) was ON CLOUD 9. So moist and chocolatey, with a light chocolate cream and roasted candied pecans that had the perfect crunch. Absolutely loved this one. The Raspberry Cinnamon Roll with Espresso Cream Cheese (9/10) had a nice laminated pastry and espresso cream wasn't overly sweet. Such a good combo. I bought 3 and my friend got 2. Calamansi cream + pistachio paste danish was my favorite. The Calamansi cream was the perfect texture and density with a fragrant citrus note. Flaky dough, soft pistachio center and creamy top with a sharp citrus cut. Peach + raspberry Melba danish. The peaches were soft. I'm not familiar with a Melba dessert but the center of this was almond paste which is not my favorite but if you like almond and tart danish it would hit the spot. Raspberry espresso cream cheese cinnamon roll was a fun fruity twist to a cinnamon roll. Couldn't really tell there was espresso though. Blueberry lime cheesecake danish. I also liked this one because of the lime. It really cuts through the heaviness. The fruits on top were also fresh. They also have one day old blind boxes. I grabbed a 6 piece day old box to go and it was actually 6 different pasteries, half sweet and half savory! It only repeated 1 of the pasteries I had originally tried so I'm excited to try more, especially the savory ones. It's an amazing deal if you just want to try a variety of flavors. Tried the Hot dog danish - really good! Upscale pigs in a blanket vibes. The tiny fried are seasoned perfectly and add a fun crunch. The splashes of Dijon cut through and it doesn't feel oily at all.

The cake tasting was a wonderful experience, giving us plenty of delicious options to choose from while helping us create the perfect cake for our special day. Throughout the entire process, their communication was outstanding. They kept us informed every step of the way and worked directly with our wedding venue, "Firehouse Chicago", to coordinate the delivery and logistics. Everything was handled seamlessly, and our cake arrived exactly as planned without a single issue. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but Bittersweet's professionalism, organization, and proactive approach gave us one less thing to worry about. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellent customer service truly stood out. One feature we especially love is that they keep the recipe and design of your wedding cake on file. Every anniversary, they can recreate your wedding cake or a cake in any size you choose. We've continued this tradition, and each anniversary cake has been just as delicious as the original while bringing back wonderful memories of our wedding day. If you're looking for a bakery that is responsive, dependable, and delivers an outstanding product, I highly recommend Bittersweet Bakery for your wedding cake or any bakery needs. They responded promptly to our questions and requests, unlike some businesses that never replied to estimate inquiries. Their customer service and quality were truly exceptional. A heartfelt thank you to Samuel who conducted the Cake Tasting and the entire staff at Bittersweet Bakery for helping make our dream wedding a reality. We will always be grateful and look forward to celebrating many more anniversaries with your incredible cakes.

The quiche is always fantastic, and anything out of the pastry case is a must. Drinks are good as well! Such a cozy spot to grab coffee with a friend (or give in to the temptation of snagging a pastry on your way to the brown line)

People were crowding around it as the staff handed it to me--handled with care . The chicken was crispy, the sauce had that classic rich flavor, and the melted cheese tied everything together just right. What I really appreciated was how consistent the quality was from end to end--no soggy spots, and the bread held up beautifully (which is key when you're dealing with something this massive). You can tell they know what they're doing when it comes to Italian bread and hearty sandwiches. I think they have patio seating available when the weather allows, which is a nice option, but it does get crowded. Calling ahead to order is definitely a smart move. Okay, y'all are going to have to bear with me on this one…read more Back in the day, I was such a fan of D'Amato's Bakery. They had everything you wanted when it came to a sandwich. Hot or cold, you got exactly what you were asking for. On this particular day, I was pretty much undecided on what to eat when a friend suggested D'Amato's. I hadn't had them since I moved away, so I was looking forward to reliving some food memories. They have a new place, but the same menu and maybe even some of the same people. All I knew was that I was excited to have them again. How it went so wrong so fast, I'm still not sure. I ordered a chicken parm for myself and a turkey club for my friend. What I got was a chicken parm and a Caesar club. Strike one. Unfortunately, things didn't get much better from there. The chicken parm was gritty and mostly crust, with hardly any chicken. My friend said the Caesar club wasn't good at all. They told me I should go back and get my money, but honestly, I chalked it up to them being in a new place and maybe still getting used to their surroundings. I think part of me just couldn't believe that a place I remembered so fondly had taken such a turn for the worse. I couldn't even bring myself to go back and face them. I can't say I'll be going back anytime soon. Somewhere, an angel just lost its wings.
